We've always loved Bentley's Roadhouse, it's half bar and half restaurant with a live band one weekends. We ordered two of our usual favorites -- the Asiago chicken over angel hair pasta for me and the Cajun shrimp pasta for my husband. We also both started with the French onion soup, which is always amazing and one of the reasons we keep coming back. It was an unusually busy night because the owners were in the process of selling the restaurant, so the place was packed. Unfortunately, service wasn't the best this time. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and often forgot about us while chatting with other tables. The food was still good overall, though my Asiago chicken came out a bit dry since it was lacking sauce. Once we mentioned it, it was corrected. Definitely not our best experience at Bentley's, but we still love the menu and the restaurant. We're really hoping the new owners keep the same great food standards because this has been one of our favorite spots for a long time. read more

I truly miss the old owners. Food has changed here. Some for the better, others meh. Really disappointed about being told they would honor the rewards we had on our card. Kept putting it off . My hamburger was ok; forgot the tomato and brought a slice on a plate instead of taking the burger back to the kitchen to add the tomato. My husband liked his chicken/sausage and noodles dish but there was a lot of oil on the bottom. The worst part was we loved their Bang Bang Shrimp, oops the old owners didn't leave them the recipe for the sauce. Not tasty at all and a lot of chunks of breading on the plate. Sorry won't be back for awhile; had high hopes for the new owners. read more

came in to get dinner for the fam and use up my rewards from before the the new ownership just to find out everything i have is gone because the new system did not carry over. we would eat here 1 a week with the old management and had to take a break due to being out of town. now i for sure wont be returning. to lose over $40 sucks and while that may not seem like a lot, it is to me. I have been eating at Bentleys for about 20 years my wife and I found it to be our special place to have dinner, (ie.birthdays, anniversaries, or just date night). Food was always good and the atmosphere was upbeat and welcoming. Last night my wife, my daughter and a neighbor went to dinner their. We retired to FL 7 yrs ago so when we come to town we make it a point to stop at least once for dinner. To make a long story short we ended up walking out. The hostess sat us next to the waitress station and their we sat for a little more then 10 min. and nobody and I mean nobody stopped at our table as we watched a parade waitress go back and forth. No one stopped by, not a hello not a can I get you a drink, nothing. The place was less then half empty and their were only 3 people at the bar, all of which seemed very rare to me, seeing it was just after 7. So we got up and left, as we were heading to the door a young lady asked what the problem was, we explained and she offered us a drink if we stayed. At that point it was to late. So we went to Wise Guys and had great service and good food. I found out later that Curtis and Annette had sold the place and that seemed to answer my bewilderment. So in closing if you go their to eat, good luck, but don't bother looking for us. read more

First time and it will be the last time, service was horrible. Sat down ordered water and an appetizer, took 25 minutes for that to come and didn't even get to order any food yet.. The waitress we had took care of 3 other customers and didn't even come over.. The manager didn't even have the courage to come over when I asked for the bill for the appetizer so we could leave and go to a different place to eat.. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone read more

We came in on a busy Saturday night and were sat right away. Our server was Susan and she was an absolute doll. We were starving, so I forgot to take pics until we were done. The atmosphere was very laid back and homey. Susan suggested the Mandarin Cosmo. Oh, Lord...that thing was DANGEROUS. I'm no lightweight, but I could definitely feel it halfway through. Our appetizer was the steak bites. The Béarnaise sauce was HEAVEN. I could have eaten it with a spoon. My husband got the chicken parmesan and I had the broasted chicken. Hubby had a salad and I had the Cole slaw. The Cole slaw was perfect. It was creamy with a bite. My chicken was amazing and huge. I took half of it home. Hubby could only manage a couple of bites. You get so much food! We will ABSOLUTELY be back. read more

usually enjoy coming here but now have a bad taste in my mouth. the vibes are always fun and the people who come here are chill. the bartender refused to serve me alcohol because i have a temporary license. i do not understand this as i have literally purchased alcohol with this temporary license from this establishment previously and haven't had any issues. i have also purchased alcohol elsewhere. not happy with the experience i had tonight. extremely disappointed. read more

Don't you dare order carry out!!!! My boyfriend picked up our carry out order tonight, and on his way out, after he paid & tipped, a waitress kept telling him over and over, "no more carry out!!!" scolding him as if we should have known that ahead of time. Yet a waitress took my order on the phone an hour prior, and my order was ready when he arrived... I guess carry out money isn't the same as dine in money. I liked ordering from Bentley's to feed my family because their food is good, and they are in my neighborhood, but I guess they won't be getting any more of my carry out orders, and I definitely won't be dining in. read more

Kevin was my server tonight, providing outstanding service. I ordered a pizza from the daily specials. I feel guilty, because Carlos Pizza (one of my local favorites) is right next door. Pros: Service was excellent, the beer was cold, the liquor was a good pour. You could tell our waitress liked working there, as her personality was vibrant, even at the end of the night. The restaurant is clean and the tables are spaced out enough for everyone to have room. This is a comfortable place to visit. Room for improvement: The kitchen. My wife and I eat out a lot. I ordered the cajun chicken pasta, and I've never had one that didn't use a cream sauce. It was chicken pieces, pasta, red onion, sliced pepperoncini (yes, the vinegar-jarred banana peppers), red bell peppers, in a thick chicken broth. Vinegar flavor never goes with a cajun pasta dish. My wife's dinner also missed the mark. Conclusion: a great place to visit and hang out. Stick with easier dishes like their bar food, as they struggle with higher priced entrees. Tip: Their nightly specials was entrees on their menu with a slight discount. Mine was $.50 off of the cajun chicken pasta. read more

Decided to try again as it was on the way home from shopping. First of all it was not that busy and it took awhile to get seated by the hostess. The waitress was a little on the slow side and the front of the restaurant was half empty. I ordered chicken florentine. I was brought a big bowl of angel hair pasta with a few chicken nuggets (small chunks of chicken). It said spinach; where is it; I had one piece and a couple of little pieces of spinach (no more than 3 pieces) with a couple pieces of red onion all of which was drenched in oil. No offer to grate some cheese on top. All of this for $21.99 - outrageous for a bowl of pasta. Will not be back. read more

Stopped there for the first time tonight.. One thing for sure that is not likable is the staff drinking with the guests. Not very professional.. That may be why when my order arrived it was delicious, but not what I ordered. Hopefully they can pay attention and send out from the kitchen the food that I ordered. This place gets a one star from for many years. The service wasn't good the waitress had the worst attitude. When ever we needed something she wasn't around and when did see her she was always chatting with someone. And when she did acknowledge she attitude like she didn't want to be bothered. Sorry if you don't want to be bothered the service industry isn't for you. I ordered a Pepsi and it was very flat don't they notice there was no fizz when putting it in the glass. There salads were less desirable with a plate of iceberg, one wedge of tomato, couple silver of red onion and ranch dressing. Ordered a New York steak that I ordered medium well it took an hour for them to make it. I have cooking steaks for thirty years and it has never taken me an hour to cook it. And when it wasn't cooked how I ordered it. It was chared and very dry like they didn't let rest before plating it. Everytime we asked for refills on our ice teas which wasn't that often she had an attitude about that and always come back with very little ice. And when we asked for more ice in our drinks she would roll her eyes. And she would slam plates and glasses the whole time. And what kind of roadhouse doesn't have beer. read more

Stopped by for a quick bite. I had corned beef and Swiss my girlfriend had a burger and a couple of iced teas. The damage was 28$ and it was ok. Nothing to write home about, just your average fare. It was a bit busy for a Tuesday night and I'm sure like most places they are understaffed, however 30 minutes for a couple of sandwiches a lengthy wait. The jury is out on a return visit. read more

Who knew that Monday was Awesome Burger Day at Bentley's?? I know that now--and I'll be back for more. My only complaint is that it's way too much for me to eat in one sitting. Friendly and efficient server -- and it was her first day! Great prices. Good for after work meet ups with friends, but saw several young families there, too. read more

This a good restaurant just off post (Selfridge) that can handle big crowds easily. It is one of my office's choices for a Hail and Farewell. I have not had a bad meal here. The food is very well priced with a wide range of choices. Lunches (which is all that I've been here for) range from just under $10 for an appetizer with just water to the mid teens or at least as far as I've tried foodwise. The only drawback, is while they can handle large crowds easily, it does slow down the speed of your food arriving. read more

I hadn't eaten here in a year or more, and it will probably be another one before I give it another chance. I used to order take out, the buffalo chicken salad used to be really good. Last night I was disappointed by the salad and the service. My step mother and I each ordered salads. Hers was the chicken salad supreme and I went with the buffalo. My salad was $12. They barely put any toppings on it, literally 4 pieces of walnut, a few tiny pieces of celery and a few crumbles of bleu cheese. The chicken was not fully dressed with the buffalo sauce. I asked for no tomoates, but they sure didn't skimp on those. Had to removed a bunch of haphazardly diced chunks of them. The greens were nothing more than from a bag of what is normally for a side salad . No romaine, or baby greens. Nope just the iceberg lettuce with those dehydrated shreds of carrot. I would have returned it, if it didn't take over 30 minutes for our food to get to us. Also, my dad and i ordered beers, that took about 20 minutes. Just bottles of beer. 20 minutes. When mine got to me, the label was all ripped up, it looked like it had been sitting in a tub of water. Speaking of water, mine had a bunch of floaties in it, so I didn't drink it. The pizza my daughter ordered was pretty decent and my son liked his fish and chips. The two stars were for the food my kids got and the one person seeming to give a crap about service-the bus boy! Well- people at work like this place and we had high hopes. Servers were pleasant and friendly. Ordered Long Islands, which were ok- but the glasses were small. Ordered mozzarella triangle appetizers. Arrived luke warm with a glob of marinara in the middle on the plate. Ordered pizza..... Not cooked all the way- NO sauce on the pizza and the crust...like an English muffin. Under cooked and not good. Sorry but won't be back. read more

I have been going to Bentley's for a while and the one thing that I can say about it is that it is pretty consistent across the board. Consistently good food, consistently good service, and consistently good music. The food is great, especially the calamari, which you cant find a version like it anywhere around here. Their French Dip and hamburgers are great but if it is on the menu get the Chicken and Waffles, they are killer. The pizza is pretty good here too. Nothing that is mind blowing but it can compete pretty easily with Carlos. The staff is always attentive and quick and once you have been there a couple times they treat you like family. The owners are usually good about coming around to make sure you are having a good experience. Don't expect fine dining with French flair, this place is a casual laid back environment. It is packed on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday after 5 so get there early or you are gonna wait. read more

It must have been the waitress first day ever as an employee because it took her years before attending to our order and getting our bill. Even the water tasted funny, it was either the water or I was had a used straw, either way both is unacceptable. Only cool thing was the super drunk guy at bar who got cut off at 11:45 AM. Calamari "special" was uneventful, calamari steak strips fried and topped with Mae Ploy sauce and 12 sesame seeds. The chili I didn't eat more than one bite of, the meat tasted either a day off or just boiled and under seasoned, tough to tell. Cole slaw was meh, I think someone at least tried to make the dressing from scratch. My Black and Blue Pasta dish had about 3-4 ounces of under seasoned "Cajun" steak cubes on top of a bowl of farfalle (bow tie) pasta swimming in what tasted like cream with blue cheese boiled into it. There were 6 slices of green onion and maybe 10 pieces of "diced" tomato, one of which was 1/2 a slice the knife didn't make it all the way through. Service was okay but good service will only get you so far in my book...after seeing four stars on yelp I had much higher hopes, I guess the Crowd just went in with low expectations..... read more

One of these days, I'm going to pay someone to start following me around with a video camera and playing the old theme song from Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom...because for some reason I always somehow manage to wind up in cougar bars. So, I wound up getting dragged to this particular location out in the middle of nowhere over, of course, a woman. A friend had an interest in a girl and...and of course I'm completely digressing from my review...but I just felt like I needed to explain how it came to pass that I arrived at this little joint. It's a decent enough place. They have a good beer selection (both draft and bottle), and they know how to pour a drink that neither looks nor tastes watered down. Prices are low-ish, and the snacky-type bar food that we ordered was quick, good, and reasonably priced. A band was playing that night, but it wasn't overpowering. The layout of the bar is such that the band can be playing in the front room, and in other areas of the bar it's no louder than if they simply had the radio on...in fact, I actually thought they DID just have the radio on since we'd walked in through the back door and wasn't aware of the band until someone pointed it out. I'm not sure when I'll wind up back in that neck of the woods again, but I won't have any reservations about going back. read more
