I was so upset at the experience I had today here. Me and my husband walked in and were waiting at the front where the sign was PRESENT STATING "PLEASE WAIT TO BE SEATED" . So we waited, because thats what the sign said. There were two waitresses, one with dark hair and one with glasses and a reddish toned hair and one of them starts barking at us like the animal she is, to seat ourselves from the breakfast bar area, not knowing that the staff clearly had not turned their sign. So disrespectful , so rude to be screaming from halfway across the restaurant that is completely dead? That was a more suitable option, to be barking and screaming? Rather than coming up to the customers and ask why we're standing there like a bunch of lost ducks. I will never be coming here again. read more

This intimate little diner isn't as small as you think. Over thirty tables yet it's still a very personable place. I really just stopped in to kill time while my wife was getting her nails done. Since you can't just sit there nursing a coffee (I guess you could), I ordered a bowl of Italian wedding soup that came with a large bread and butter basket, crackers and breadsticks. The soup was fantastic and they make a pretty decent cup of coffee, so no complaints. I'm not sure if my server was Izzy or that's just the name on the check, but she's about the friendliest you'll ever meet. I had a turkey croissant 'and lemon rice soup . Both were very good the misses have a western omelette with potato pancakes . Which she said was very good. I ate some of her potato pancakes which I thought were very tasty. The service was great and the waitress took time out for my wife to review some of the items on the menu . Fantastic local gem for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! The restaurant is quaint with a family-friendly atmosphere. Pictured is their delicious strawberry waffles, meat lovers skillet, and farmers omelette (has hash browns baked into it)! I also love their chicken stir fry, grilled chicken pita, and fish and chips! There are sooo many entree choices and you can't go wrong with any. As always my country omelet was delicious . Hash browns could have been crispier, but none the less still good. I also ordered the raisin bread toast and that was great with the orange marmalade. My wife ordered the corned beef sandwich with fries and she commented that the sandwich was mostly sauerkraut and so much corned beef. She also mentioned the fries seemed like they refried and soggy-ish. Service is always great and quick as usual and the waitresses are always nice and friendly. We had fish & chips here tonight. It was very busy but we waited about 5 minutes for a table. Our drink order was taken promptly & our waitress took our orders about 10 minutes later. She was very nice & smiled a lot. She didn't look frazzled at all. Our food was hot & fresh & very good. read more

Wow, talk about having just about every kinda dish, doing it all very well and serving it quickly and deliciously... this is your place. Now it ain't fancy, but it has that old school kinda vibe place you might go to with your Mom. And the prices are outrageous for the quality and quantity of food you get. I've tried a few dishes and they've all been great. The Walleye (12$) is really good and if you want to go big they have an all you can eat Walleye Friday, I believe (don't quote me on the day), but the two or three piece is usually enough for me. Especially when you get the beautiful mashed or boiled potatoes to go with it. And at the end of the meal you get ice cream if you can make room (my fave Pecan)! The Lamb Shank is fantastic (12$) with green beans and I get the fresh mash potatoes (also ice cream included, but I was too full!). There are so many dishes and I want try more or maybe all of them! This is a place that has a lot of every kind of people eating there, but you see a lot of seniors earlier in the evening because they know what a great deal is! The kitchen is small, open and run by people who know what they're doing. I would go around 5:15 - 5:30pm because it can start to fill up as any good place will (I think closes at 8pm most days). The servers are awesome and will give you a smile when they drop off your food. I can't say enough about this simple but wonderful place. I ordered Carryout after work one night and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the lemon rice soup, spinach pie, and kids chicken tenders. The spinach pie dinner was a decent amount of food so I had leftovers for lunch the next day. I will order from here again. read more

Started off with the cream of broccoli soup. It was thick as paste with no taste at all. For my main course I ordered the stuffed cabbage. When it came there was steam rolling off of it. Must of been in the microwave forever. It was nasty as could be. The mashed potatoes were nothing to write home about and the corn was very bland and tuff. As far as the waitress goes she spent more time bullshitting with the customers. Needless to say I won't be going back. It totally SUCKED !!!! read more

I tried the Saganaki, Lemon Rice Soup, Gyro, Rice Pilaf, Rice Pudding and bread basket. Plenty of parking. Hands down of the best Lemon Rice Soups in Macomb County. The Gyro Dinner was $9 with Rice, soup or salad and dessert. Saganaki was perfect. The bread basket was fresh with soft bread. Sat for almost a half-hour one time. No water, menu, coffee, etc. while the waitress stood behind the counter and chatted with a co-worker. She even looked at me. This time, I was not waiting for a half-hour. 4 waitressed and they sure were helping out their regulars. Refilling coffee, et. Me? Totally ignored. Finally walked out. One time may be an oversight, but twice? That is on purpose. Seems if they don't know you, you will sit and wait. The food here is below average 90% of the few times I've been here. Then today I get a veggie omelet that has huge pieces of broccoli and mushrooms and the omelette was leaking egg white. It was so poorly cooked I couldn't eat it and when I called there the waiter was so rude as if I could this terrible omelet. We haven't been frequenting this family diner for a couple years now & have always been satisfied with the large choice of good food and service. But the last two times we've gone to dinner have been questionable. The most recent was Monday 7/15/24 & the time before that was Wed 6/26/24 & they didn't have ice because the machine is broke both times! The hostess served us a glass of warm almost hot "iced" tea with no ice! You would think someone would be stocking up on bags of ice from the store. The air was also pretty stuffy in there, granted it's summer and the temps are high, but it didn't feel like the air was working at all. And lastly, for the food: the coleslaw was pretty much diced cabbage; barely any carrot. Finding coleslaw I like is rare, but I did like the flavor, just wish more restaurants used shredded coleslaw. And I ordered stuffed cabbage & asked for no sauce on my mashed potatoes and they came covered in sauce. In short, we may be looking for a new family diner. read more

This is a classic American diner. Not fancy but excellent service. The menu is huge and specials are almost limitless. It's not The Ritz but you darn sure won't leave hungry. It's an incredible value for the money. They just need to fix the stools at the counter. read more

It's your typical America cuisine/Coney type place. Anything you would get at a Denny's or a National Coney Island you can pretty much get here. Everything has a home cooked edge to it. The staff is super friendly, I've never been disappointed with what I ordered, and the prices are very reasonable. Front end staff masked up, Cooks NOMasks. The cooks touched my food, I didn't notice until I was almost done with meal. Terrible for a very small restaurant, the cooks are the owners of this place. Covid is real. This restaurant doesn't care. Go only if you want to take a chance on getting ill. Food was okay, but I was very worried about getting sick. Lastly, there is a sign on front door saying Everyone must wear a mask before entering" Hypocrites they don't follow the rules. read more

I've only ordered one thing for carryout from here but, I'm an instant fan. It was the stir fry veggies with chicken, which is grilled chicken and grilled veggies (so good) with a very yummy teriyaki (perfect) sauce and what I think was fried rice. It was so tasty and the portion was generous. My family orders from here frequently and when next I'm in the neighborhood, I will definitely order this dish again at the very least. I am still in shock of my experience at this restaurant. We recently moved into the area two weeks ago and have eaten here six times. Yesterday our experience was great Izzy provided friendly and professional service. Maria displayed horrible and completely unprofessional service this morning. Maria had a complete meltdown over one minute literally! The door was unlocked, two people were waiting there before us, lights were off, at first I thought there was a power outage. When she saw four people waiting she got very nasty and short she said it's only 7:54 AM and we don't open until 8 AM I looked at my phone and it was 759 when I told her the correct time she nationally replied it's still before 8 AM and it just got intense after that. This employee is extremely stressed out and should not work with the public a total of four customers walked out in disbelief. We went to Home Town Grill that we have been going to for years, we are friends with the owner Ron and Shari who happen to be related to the owners at Lake breeze. We shared with Ron our experience that just took place at Lake breeze restaurant, he was very surprised and empathetic. To the owners at Lake breeze, you may wanna consider Maria's actions - I know I wouldn't want in employee to tell the customer we are spending hard-earned money to go elsewhere we will drive the extra 2 1/2 miles and stay with Hometown Grill where the owners and the staff are amazing.
