We ordered cheese sticks, a chicken club sandwich and onion rings along with two waters. The chicken sandwich club was good, it was an actual chicken breast marinated in Italian dressing not chicken breast lunch meat. The service was drastically better than opening day, all the servers were new as the original crew quit after the first week. We did see some training going on which was nice. Odd things: tables are way to short or the benches are too high. My feet dangled off the bench like when I was a 7 year old sitting on the can. TV was on blast, I like the news but not that loud. We walked in and were greeted immediately although there was a seat yourself sign up! I find that a lot of times when that sign is up at different places, you're never greeted. The waitress came right over for our drink orders! They have Pepsi products! Of course I got a cool, crisp Mountain Dew! We ordered the mozzarella sticks with ranch and you get 5 of them! They're pretty good! They have a nice cheese pull! I ordered the bacon cheeseburger. It was really good and it was actually cooked to my requested medium temp! Everything that comes with it (lettuce, tomato, mayo, pickles, onion) comes on the burger already assembled which was nice! I stole some of my husbands chili cheese fries and they were great! He got the double bacon cheeseburger and it was huge. He said he will get the single next time. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and modern looking! They also serve mimosas and a few other tasty looking alcoholic drinks that I'll have to try next time! read more

The food is good if you're looking for a late night or early morning breakfast, we've been here quite a few times since it's convenient for us when we don't wannna cook after work. We love coming here! The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is always delicious! Especially their banana Nutella crepes!

Dear Main Street grill you have good food reasonable prices but whenever I order from DoorDash you feel the need to tack on a $7.99 delivery fee your food is good but I'm not gonna pay that kind of a fee to have it delivered and I don't think I will be going to a restaurant again that's just greedy. I know we're paying for the convenience of having it delivered but that kind of delivery fee is outrageous and I'm going to tell everybody I know not to go to your establishment or order from DoorDash due to the exorbitant fee. I know nobody will read this and nobody will reply to me, but we shall see I may be wrong. read more

Great service! Only reason for 4 of 5 stars, is because the breakfast/brunch is on point and the dinners are average and overpriced. We've been in a few times now and we will only come back for breakfast. Pastas and fish dinners were ok and for the price we can go to a formal/better quality restaurant. In terms of food, this place is a 1/5. Ordered a mushroom swiss burger and got uncooked mushrooms and half melted cheese. Couldnt taste anything but onion, after removing the onion it didn't improve very much either. Plain patty with no seasoning or flavor. My wife got pancakes, i did not taste them but just off appearance i wouldnt of. Palest, saddest, looking pancakes ive ever seen. She says her bacon was 5/5 though. Our Service was standard "coney-island" esq. Come out, take your orders, bring food out, refill drinks once. Dont expect a conversation or to be treated like a customer, the workers are machines to just bring out food. Finally we get to the ambiance. Ive lived in New Haven my whole life, and have seen many places rise and fall around this area. Main street grill gets props for being the cleanest ive ever seen! Clean tables, floors and bathrooms. Cute christmas decor is up right now. MY ONLY GRIPE IS THAT IF YOUR GOING TO LOOP THE SAME CHRISTMAS SONG FOR 30 MINUTES AT LEAST MAKE IT A GOOD ONE!!! read more

Had breakfast with my kids and one of their friends this morning. Food and service was good but watch your tickets. They do pricing the old school way on a guest check. We got 2 breakfast meals, a side of hasbrowns and sausage, a lemon rice soup (which was taken off our bill because my daughter's friend did not like it) and 3 Pepsi's. My bill was at 65.19! I brought it to the attention of the waitress and she offered course fixed it but looking at the menu on here they still overcharged for one of the breakfast meals. Not bashing the place at all I just wanted to make people aware so you don't get overcharged. If I wasn't paying attention I would have just paid it. read more

This place must pay a lot for advertising on Yelp. I keep getting emails about it. I didn't want to be mean but hey it's not fair that they're getting this attention considering they're not all that. I went twice. Pretty place and a wide variety of menu items. I'll give it that. The first breakfast was completely flavorless. The second breakfast was the cinnamon roll pancakes. They were sickly sweet. Like fried sugar. It had some strange empty hole in the middle, like it was plated incorrectly. The plate was sloppy. And the sausage was on the same plate. The servers and platers need better training I think; sometimes sausage and pancakes are good together but I would rather have them on separate plates. .... So the first breakfast was flavorless and the second was way too sweet and not what I expected at all. Now for the service. This place has not been open so long that the wait staff should have the attitude of, "Hey customers, you should feel honored to be here." They're just very cold. And now for the checkout process. They actually ask you out loud, "How much tip do you want to leave on your card?" That's a very awkward situation. It might not be their fault because it could be just the technology, but I would think there has to be a different solution. So there you go. Now maybe Yelp will stop harassing me to write a review. read more
