I just took my two pups here and they loved it! They did well there. Staff is amazing and truly cares. They send you pictures by text. My dogs got to stay together and sleep together. Very disorganized. Scheduled a tour and when I got there the person that does tours wasn't there. The one person that was working said that she wasn't allowed to give me a tour but that I could see the place when I drop my dog off for the first time. She did not ask anything about my dog like his age, temperament, breed etc. In my head I thought, " if you don't care about what my dog is like at all then what type of dogs are going to be around my dog?" He's just a puppy and easily get pummeled by other dogs because he's not an alpha. However, it is right by my Employment and I wanted to make it work. Even though there are only a few reviews on here, most of them aren't bad, so I thought that had to be a good sign. When I went to drop him off for the first time, my puppy was barking and staying close to me. However his tail was wagging, he was eating treats, doing his tricks, and Was trying to go back where he could hear the other dogs barking and eager to play. Mind you, the office could be mistaken by a puppy as a vets office. My dog doesn't like that, which makes sense because he just went there for all of his shots. The woman, who I'm assuming is the owner but I would not know because she never introduced herself to me, immediately said she refuses to take him because he wasn't instantly happy and excited to greet her- a stranger with two other strangers with her and a bunch of barking dogs in the background. I asked if we could just wait a few minutes and see how he warmed up to her. Because again he is just a puppy at a new place. I want to make it clear that he was showing absolutely no signs of aggression and would understand all of this if he had. She said that she was refusing to take him regardless. So I had to make arrangements in my schedule because of their poor planning And what sounds like incapability of taking care of puppies. The woman was talking in a loud, high voice to my dog and I could tell every time that she talked, his body would tense and I don't think it was gentle whatsoever for a dog trying to figure out his new surroundings. I'm really trying to wrap my head around why my adorable, lovable, nonaggressive dog was so quickly turned away. He's all black... maybe that's intimidating??? Side note: When I originally came for the tour, the person at the front desk said that the last time she was working they had 30 dogs at daycare with two staff and supposedly none are kenneled (even though when I was there for the tour that never happened, the girl at the front said she was the only person there). Obviously no one can EFFECTIVELY watch that many dogs with that little staff. That's why they turned down my apprehensive puppy, even though there's absolutely 0% that he's aggressive in anyway and would ever do harm to them or their dogs. I just had the most upsetting experience with Bentley's Ruff House, and while I am not one to write negative reviews I just can't ignore the experience I just had. Please know they make absolutely NO exceptions to allow you to pick up your dog outside of their short drop-off and pick-up windows. This was my dog's second stay at Bentley's. On the second day of my dog's stay, I received an upsetting phone call and video clip. As soon as I was back into town two days later I called twice and sent a text around 2:00 pm and was practically begging to come and pick up my dog that afternoon, but because it was after the 7-9 am pick-up window, I was told there was absolutely no way I could pick up my dog early. The owner said I could have sent someone to pick him up earlier anytime during their pick-up window any other day, but she could not meet me that day. I was in tears. I offered to come anytime that day, even if it meant I had to wait until the evening when the dogs were crated again in the evening, whenever would work for her, but please just let me come and pick up my dog, but she refused. The customer service I received was just awful. During our conversation, she kept using my first name in a very negative tone and even had her employee listening in on the other line to our conversation. I know this because she spoke up during our conversation and began defending herself about the upsetting video I received. I have the sweetest 5-year-old Maltipoo who I have never had an issue with aggressive behavior from, ever. During the upsetting phone call, the owner informed me that my dog had just bit one of her employee's arms. I was in shock and had her repeat herself as my dog has never even nipped at anyone or another animal. She let me know that my dog could stay, and that he was safe, but they would not be picking him up or giving him a bath which was fine with me. I had previously requested picture updates through a text, so they sent two over of our dog playing, and then the third picture was of the employee's arm after the bite, and then a short video of our dog cornered with the employee he bit approaching him with her hand above his head moving towards his mouth and he was barking aggressively toward her, and very upset. Maybe our dog was overly stressed due to the boarding environment or scared for some reason. I'm not sure and haven't been provided with a video of him biting her, but this behavior was shocking as I have never seen him like this before in the 5 years I have owned him. The owner told me repeatedly and you will see her mention it here on Yelp," This is not a home environment this is a boarding facility and is very stressful for dogs". Please keep that in mind. Also, even if you request picture updates you may not receive them from Bentley's. I never received any additional updates besides what was sent on the second day. We were able to pick up our dog the next morning and thankfully he seems like his old happy self. read more

We had to evacuate from Sonoma County during the Kincade Fire and Bentley's was recommended as THE place to board our dogs while we stayed in a hotel. The staff was flexible with our arrival and pick up times which pushed the limits of their usual program. Turns out the owner's husband was away fighting the Kincade Fire. My dogs were well cared for, and I didn't have to worry about them at all. The owner made an otherwise difficult time less stressful for my family. read more

This place is amazing! We take our dog here for "play dates" and she loves it! She hates the car and when she sees where we are headed she gets so excited! They love your dog like it's their own. They do do a "trial run" and if your dog shows signs of aggression they will not take them (which I am thankful for!) safe place for all the doggies who just want to play! Your dog will be safe here and given a ton of attention. Low numbers of dogs so there are not a lot of doggies at one time. If there's a negative review in here, it's probably because someone is butt-hurt from being turned away bc their dog was showing signs of aggression and they didn't accept them to protect the other dogs. This place is a wonderful place for your dog to go. Does get pricey but it's worth it. read more

I've had my dog at Bentley's Ruff House for about 5 months while looking for affordable housing where I could also keep my dog. It was extremely difficult to find somewhere affordable, as well as finding someone who was willing to work with Lulu on socializing since she hadn't had much of it. Within a couple days, Lulu was able to play with other dogs. I was able to go visit her, and she was as happy as can be. It was more of a doggy vacation for her. I will never take my dog anywhere else for boarding. I finally get to pick up my girl on the 1st, and will always be appreciative to Bentley's Ruff House for giving me a peace of mind during one of the roughest times of my life. read more

This is going to be a crazy long review, but I wish there was the option to give half stars because I'd actually give Bentley's Ruff House 2.5 stars not 3. I say that because they're customer service while they have your pet in their care is terrible. They're aggressive in their update emails (if they even email you back) & after I got my dog back from them I noticed that the blanket I took for my dog wasn't in her bag. So the next day I called & asked if I could get my dogs blanket back & I was told by the owner that they have like 500 blankets so unless there is a defining characteristic or if I wrote my name or my dogs name on the blanket then there is not a high possibility that I will get it back. Which I get that, but why would my dogs blanket get mixed up with other blankets in the first place it's my dogs blanket therefore my dog uses it then you put it back in her bag... Not only did I not receive my dogs blanket back at the initial pick up, when I called I had spoke to the owner and she informed me that she would look for the blanket (which I'm sure she never did) & then she would call me back later that evening...well she never called. I'm just disappointed with the customer service I received from Bentley's Ruff House. I felt confident that my dog was in good hands before I went on my trip but after the first night of my dog being in their care I tried to request updates for my dog & things just went downhill. Like I said earlier they were aggressive in their email responses, one day they didn't even email me back so I emailed them again the following day, & the updates weren't even the same day so the update was almost pointless. My dog is my baby I don't have children so maybe I have high expectations, but I feel like anyone who truly cares about their pet would have high expectations. All I can say is that Bentley's Ruff House was very accommodating in regards to the last minute schedule change I had as well as they had no problem with a friend of mine picking up my dog. They also gave my dog a bath & I was not expecting that so that was a nice surprise. Although I'm not sure if they gave her a bath because they were just being nice or if they gave her a bath because they accidentally gave my dog fleas. I still wonder this because my dog was itching/ scratching for like a week straight after she was picked up and she was definitely not itching/ scratching before she went there. Initially it was a nice surprise because she definitely needed a bath lol. My friend also said that my dog almost ripped off the person's arm when she saw him & that she was acting fine after he picked her up, so I assume my dog was totally fine during her stay. My only complaint is that their customer service isn't the best. In person customer service = 5 stars, but while your dog is in their care I'd give 2.5 stars. read more

The owner and her daughter were very accommodating when my husband didn't notice the drop off time in the reminder text and we were THIS close to missing them. For that, I am thankful. We left our dog in their care while we went out of town, and this morning, our flight was delayed and we would not be there in time for 4pm pick up. When I had booked boarding over the phone earlier in the week, the owner asked when I would pick up and I said, "Either Sunday or Monday, I'm not sure yet but can let you know asap." She replied, "Okay, I'll put down Sunday, but we can always roll it over to Monday." This is where we had a problem. Clearly they had room when she made that comment, but this was not the case today. We called as soon as we knew our flight was delayed and they said very sternly we have to pick up today by 4. We told them we have no way of getting there in time, to which they said, "Then send someone to pick him up." We moved here about a month ago, barely know anyone, and ended up begging a coworker to pick him up and put him in our backyard until we got home late today. Here is what really pisses me off. While we were dropping off, the owner/daughter were saying unkind things to me (joking, but unkind sentiments) about another client. It irked me, but not enough to say anything. I can't understand why employees would talk poorly about clients either to or in front of other clients. When our coworker was picking up our dog for us, they were talking about us to another client, saying we were trying to trick them into letting our dog stay another night. I have no words. We were already stranded out of town, worried these people were going to set our dog free on the streets of Roseville and they're talking shit about us because our flight was delayed. I can't speak to the level of care received, although other reviews paint a bleak picture, but I do not recommend this facility. read more

I was hesitant at first because this was my first time being apart from my dog, but I can tell my dog had a great time and was well taken care of. Horrible!! Our dog was dropped off for 4 days and apparently had diarrhea the entire time and we were never told of this issue. We found out after bringing her home and she pooped in the house right out of her kennel. We called and they explained she had diarrhea since we dropped her off but never bothered to call us and let us know. She has been sick like this for 7 days now. I really can't tell you how disappointed I am with the time our dog spent at Bentley's Ruff House. It has deeply bothered myself and my husband and has taken us over 2 months to be able to write this review. We dropped our almost 1 year old German shepherd/husky mix off for 7 days and 6 nights. Her sister had stayed here once before and had a great time and it was closer to us that her other boarder. During this time we did not receive a single update. When our kids would ask how our dog was, we would tell them she is having so much fun playing with a bunch of other dogs. This was not at all the case. Upon pick-up my husband was asked to come inside and was told that she had been extremely aggressive since the first day, they had barely been able to feed her, give her water and she had been confined to the crate the whole time. As soon as she saw him she emptied her bladder all over the lobby floor. We had not been contacted for 7 days!!!! Our poor dog was locked up, holder her potty and was starving when we got her home. She peed 10 times that evening when we picked her up and it continued the next 2 days. We were lucky she didn't get a UTI from having to hold it so much. She also ate 3x her normal food for the next almost week. We were heartbroken knowing how she was treated and seeing her body trying to recover. As we have tried to process this with family, friends and her trainer, they are all shocked that we were not contacted the entire time! They all said they would have picked her up in a heartbeat if needed. We (and her trainer) and also very confused about the aggressive behavior comments. She has a very sweet heart, is actually a submissive dog and has never showed an ounce of aggression towards anyone or another dog. She has gone to trainings, other boarders and the dog park often without a single issue. We strongly feel that something must have happened to her and she must have been very scared. It also doesn't make sense that with all their experience, they couldn't help her feel comfortable. The owner said she had video she could show us but we did not push for them. I do not want to dispute that clearly this place was not a good match for our dog. The reason for this review is that we are shocked and deeply saddened she was treated this way, WITHOUT TRYING TO CONTACT US at all during her 7 day stay!!! If they truly cared about animals and not our $180, they would have never allowed our dog to continue to be subjected to this treatment without trying to make other arrangements. read more

We have been boarding our dog with Beth even before she opened her facility. We had a puppy who wasn't even fully potty trained and she welcomed him into her own home with love. We have continued to board our fur baby with Beth and her daughter, usually about once a month, and every time we pull up to the facility, Kingston (our Frenchie) can't get in quick enough. Beth is extremely accommodating when it comes to last minute reservations and changes. She is passionate about what she does and it is obvious she loves these dogs very much. We are so happy we were lucky enough to find her and will continue to use Bentleys for all of our doggie needs. read more

Our 1 year old Terrier mix (Max) recently stayed at this facility for 7 nights. Hands down 100 percent impressed with the owners and staff. Staff (Appeared to be Family owned) was very friendly and after shopping around trying to find the best deal, this facility was the best priced. I absolutely recommend this place. I even called at the last minute (due to delayed flights) and asked if our dog could stay an extra night. The staff had no problem with it and made me happy knowing that my dog was safe.
