When Bliss Bee first opened a while back, it was good - very, very, very good! I recommended it to…read moreeveryone and ate there frequently. How time changes everything.... It pains me to write this review, but after many major fails, I have to speak up, because, there is something rotten in the state of Vermont. This local franchise has rested on it laurels for years, and very often deserved; but over the past two years it has gone downhill, so far in fact, it's basically a rest area pit toilet. My most recent order is in the photos, but the general experience is the same between the South Burlington and Williston locations: hope, disappointment, and disgust. The South Burlington locations specializes in extremely overcooked chicken sandwiches and sad, soggy fries. I gave up on that location months ago. Earlier tonight, I gave the Williston location another chance; well, we all make mistakes. To say it was disgusting and inedible is an understatement, but the presentation was just plain creepy - (see photos) - it looked like someone tore off/ate a piece of the over-sized nugget they sold as a "chicken breast" sandwich. All of my "just doesn't look right" sensors went off. This was very, very unsettling. I put it in the trash where it belongs. I'm very upset that I spent my money and literally had to throw it away. The burger would have been salvageable (if i wasn't already creeped out by the "chicken sandwich" with a chunk missing). Besides, they put a cup of mayo on it. They put so much mayo on it, it not only liquefied the bun, but had begun liquefying the cardboard box it was in! This place is typical Burlington, Vermont mentality. Completely self-absorbed, self-important, and self-righteous - they think their stuff does not stink - and have no ability to process constructive criticism. Honestly, don't wasn't your time and money here. Go to Al's French Fries (Williston Road, South Burlington) if you want truly good, local, and sanitary food. Go to McDonald's if you can't get to Al's. Either way, you will get better food than at this self-righteous, stoned-out/"vibed-out," incompetent clown show.

Update 1/19/26: We…read moreplaced a takeout order for lobster rolls and Ray's awesome House Cole Slaw that morning near opening. Their internet was down so they were only taking checks or cash and I wrote a check and pre-paid for my order for a 4pm pickup time. I went back at 4pm and the order had just been bagged and was ready on time as always. As usual, they were very punctual in getting this order ready on time! Excellent service in light of their tech issues that day and they still make the best lobster rolls around and do not skimp on the lobster meat! Their Lobster Rolls prices are quire fair and reasonable and priced a lot lower than other restaurants in the area. Still 5 stars and they are a local business which for us, makes all the difference in giving them our continued business. Well done Ray's! -------------------------------------------------------------- We've been delighted with the service (pickup) and food quality at Rays. I stopped by at opening on New Year's Eve (12/31/2025) to order 4 of their awesome lobster rolls and a quart of their house cole-slaw. There was no cashier ready as I'd arrived just at opening and the manager took my order and asked what time I wanted to pick up, I replied at 4pm and offered to prepay for the order as is the standard policy for takeout, but, she told me no worries and to come by at 4PM and everything would be ready. It was! I went back at 4pm and the order was ready to go. I paid for my order (and be advised, Ray's charges less than many restaurant do in this area for a solidly filled lobster roll). We are still very delighted with their service, quality of food and prices. Supporting a local Vermont owned company also means a lot to us. Zero complains and we will continue to give Ray's our business. Well done!

We immediately loved the idea of having food cooked over the fire, but it was the first phone call with Luke that sealed the deal. He's an expert; the way he talks about weddings immediately inspires confidence and calm. We were planning everything from out of state, and Luke made it remarkably easy and fun. Not to mention how stunning the food actually IS! My husband and I had the time of our lives at the tasting, and at the reception we must have heard about a hundred times that it was "the best wedding food ever," from guests. The presentation is out of a magazine... in fact, I believe they were recently featured in Vogue! (Congratulations, wonderful people!!) The menu options are unique, fresh, and basically all of our favorite foods. And speaking of favorite foods, they have these chargrilled oysters! I must have eaten a dozen of these, as the very kind staff kept walking them past my husband and I during cocktail hour. What a tremendously happy memory. Thank you, Luke and The Hindquarter for making our wedding unforgettably delicious and special. We can't wait to come back to VT and eat more of your incredible food! HIRE THEM! :)

Go hungry. I found…read moreThe Hindquarter through a Yelp event, to which they brought such tasty nibbles as smoked chorizo with tapenade, steak tartare on potato chips, spring rolls with julienned carrots and cucumbers, and lamb meatballs in a creamy cheese sort of sauce. The spring rolls were a flat experience, but it's truly in their meat that they shine. I tried their pork bahn mi at the ArtsRiot Friday food truck event. The meat was perfectly seasoned and seared, the flavors and texture well juxtaposed with pickled vegetables and grilled, buttery roll. For the work and expertise that goes into the meat preparation and flavor combinations, this sandwich was worth every penny of the $9 they were asking for it. I should not have tried it after a late lunch and on such a hot day, though: had I been profoundly hungry when I ordered it, I can only imagine that this would have been a wonder. Next time, I'll hit it up after the gym.
