First time I'd ever been to Bergen PAC and it was a very good experience. Go early to get parking as there's a train station lot right across the street plus lots of street parking. Sound in the venue was good and our seats, Orch Row G were excellent. We saw The Commodores and they put on a very good show. They had a bar/snacks area right in the center when you enter the theater. No merch for this performance that I could see. I will definitely add Bergen PAC to my list of concert/performance venues. read more

I'm so glad, that not only is the Bergen Performing Arts Center close to home, but it presents well known performers, popular bands, and top notch comedians. Today, we went to see Rob Schneider. Rob put on an entertaining and sold out comedy show and sang, as well. The theater has great acoustics, comfortable seats, has been nicely renovated, and the staff members keep the attendees moving and safe. Originally opened as the Englewood Plaza movie theater on November 22, 1926, this establishment is recognized as one of the largest and most iconic performing venues with a performing arts school in northern New Jersey. Last night, my partner, our friends and I had the pleasure as first-timers to step into the BergenPAC located on N Van Brunt Street in Englewood. This is an art deco-style performing arts center with 1,367 seats on two levels that attracts world-class entertainment, where we came to see and hear the incredible voice of Linda Eder. She is an American singer and also an actress who originated the role of Lucy Harris in the Broadway musical Jekyll & Hyde. Four tickets were easily obtained via TicketMaster at a reasonable price. Upon entering this recently renovated intimate venue, check-in was a breeze, and the attendants were friendly and helpful. With gradual seating where most have a good view of the stage, we were lucky to be in Center Platinum Row L with the seats in front of us empty. The opening act was students from the Bergen PAC performing art school singing some Christmas carols. The star of the show had a diverse repertoire ranging from country, pop, jazz, Broadway, and Christmas songs. She sang beautifully a duet "Grown-Up Christmas List" with a former student. The sound system was good. We had an overall amazing time. With much better energy exchange between performers and audience than some arenas, we can recommend this place. read more

Bergen PAC is a historic gem! I love supporting this institution. I come here from time to time to see a show, and I also have booked trips here for my students. (The staff is always so accommodating when they book my school!) The area is so freaking cute, and there is plenty of parking and restaurants to make a day out of your show. The ushers / staff are always so friendly and accommodating as well. I just went to their first Pride event here, and it was amazing (They booked Alyssa Edwards - IYKYK)! There is a rumor that they want to do a similar event every year which would be amazing. The lobby looks amazing after the renovations, too! read more

Great venue. Traveled from the Bronx to this venue via public transportation and the bus stops literally half a block away. Easy to get to and from the venue from NYC. Staff was very nice. Bathrooms and venue very clean. I purchased a soda and popcorn for $9, not too bad and loved the cup with lid. Would def return for other events at this venue read more

A great concert with the Pavarotti of Salsa, Tito Nieves. He brought some great singers along for his 50th anniversary concert, including Brenda K. Starr, George Lamond, as well as an awesome young singer named Daniela Darcourt, all of which put on some great performances. Tito is known for bringing English to Latin music with hits like, "I'll always love you". It was a great concert in a fantastic venue. read more

Located in the heart of downtown, with plenty of parking, the PAC is a great venue to watch great acts in all genres of entertainment. Classic music, new music, cover bands, magicians,ballet, comedians, film screenings, even the traveling Price is Right game show...they have it all at some fair prices. Sitting less than 1,400 people, all seats are pretty good. I just wish the sound system was a little better though. Recently refurbished lobby with a bar offering all types of beverages ( cocktails, beers, wines, sodas,water) and snacks ( candy bars, pretzels, popcorn,etc) Staff ( a mix of mostly volunteers, and paid staff) are nice. This review is to basically remind the hordes that live in Northern NJ that there are tons of shows here every year in your backyard. There is nothing like LIVE entertainment and the PAC will definitely have something for you. read more

This is a beautiful facility with not a bad seat in the house! We were seated in the 4th row of the mezzanine and had an excellent view of the stage and Johnny Mathis on his absolute final concert before retiring. The acoustics are amazing. The staff is very friendly. The facility is very clean even the bathrooms after heavy and constant use. The refreshments were limited but good and reasonably priced. Pretty nice location, with a lot of dining options nearby and decent parking if you arrive early. But after attending my third show there recently, it's now obivious that it's a not fluke: the audio system needs *serious* attention. It is almost as though somebody dropped these giant speakers in the room and went home. Sitting in the orchestra, the room has so many reverberations and resonances that musical detail is obscured and lower midrange and upper bass frequencies drone so badly that it feels like your brain is rattling. My wife and I had to stuff our ears with tissue. Please, please hire a top notch acoustics team. read more

Went to a 25th Napoleon Dynamite anniversary event. It showed the movie 1st. Pedro & Napoleon were there telling their story of how they got their roles.Then questions & answers. Trivia next. Lastly,There was a dance-off w/ ppl. who had costumes on. I wish I would have known that. Theater had seats that were a little bigger/softer than what I'm used to(which was a plus). We had perfect seats and enjoyed The time Barrier Express 50's 60's & 70's music, it bought back so many memories of my oldest sister Linet who for the most part introduced me to the music (50's & 60's) - miss her dearly so grateful I could have enjoyed and sing alone to the fabulous songs. This was my third visit to Bergen PAC and once again, I had a great time. The venue was very clean and organized, and all the staff were helpful with getting guests situated. Since I opted to arrive closer to showtime, I was able to get a drink at the bar without waiting. The sound quality for the show was excellent and the seating arrangement works well, allowing the audience to watch the show without having an obscure view. read more

I attended this place for the first time last night as I won tickets for Sara Evans concert. Not to mention I won great seats! It was so nice. The drive wasn't to bad. Bout an hour from me. If you get there early you could find a parking spot in front but we parked in the parking lot that was free after 6 pm. It's not that far of a walk. The staff were great, seats ( close to stage I won) were very comfortable. Prices for snacks, drinks wasn't bad. Another great show at this beautiful venue. Tonight was Mike DelGuidice and Big Shot, what a talented performer! The fact that Billy Joel asked him if he would tour with him says a lot. He performed Billy Joel tunes along with some classic rock from Aerosmith to Led Zeppelin. He also did some of his original songs from his albums. One of our friends met him years ago and managed to get backstage and get a picture with Mike, and yes he still remembers her. This place is a gem. Parking is rough but other than that there's not a thing bad I could say. The shows are reasonably priced, there is great variety, recognizable names, and quality production. We saw Menopause the Musical and I have to say I wasn't juiced about going but my friends picked it. I was however most pleasantly surprised. The actors were great, the songs catchy, and it was indeed quite funny. Glad I went. And I will keep going. read more

The Bergen PAC (formerly the John Harms Center) is a lovely, albeit showing its age, theater for live performances. Located in downtown Englewood, NJ, the theater is easily accessed by car off of major roadways 4 and 80. Parking is tricky, so arrive early, get a spot, and take advantage of the many choices of restaurants and bars within walking distance of the theater. Bergen PAC has such a great variety of shows, I've seen classical, vintage performers of rock and pop, stand-up comedy, so props for the continually impressive lineup. I prefer to sit in the lower level, as I've never had a problem with cramped seats or such. They have a lobby bar and you can usually bring your drink inside. The acoustics are generally very good. The staff is well-trained and professional. I wouldn't call the theater itself a destination, but I would definitely say that it's a well-run establishment, and a fun place to see a show. BPAC seats less than 2000, so if you see a show listed that you're interested in, grab your tickets quickly. read more

I've been to the Bergen PAC multiple times for event. Most recently with my 4 year old daughter to watch, The Bubble Show. It's easy for me to get to because it's close to my home, but not the most enjoyable venue to visit. The theater itself is run down. It could really use some fresh paint, and deep cleaning at the very least, and the parking situation surrounding the theater also is not the best. I'm sure I'll be visiting this theater again in the future, hopefully by then it is freshened up just a little bit. read more

PROS: This theatre is the best all around. They have a goo amount of stars that come: Vic Dibitetto, George Lopez, Cyndi L, Jay Leno, and much more. The staff is always nice, they have a great selection at the snack bar, prices are fair, they have security, and everything is always organized CONS: The parking situation is very bad. When it's a full house street parking is nowhere to be found, Shoprite behind the place doesn't want you in their lot, and the lot across the street in front of it is hardly big. OVERALL: I like this theatre, and there's really nothing wrong with it. Even though they cast people who are either small or were previously big they sure to reel in better people than other theaters. read more

We have been to several performances at this theater and enjoyed them all. We went to see Billy Ocean tonight and it was so bad we left after 5 songs. The performer was fine - it was the sound system that was terrible. Distortion was so bad that the performance was unintelligible. It was so bad that I visited with the sound board guy and told him the distortion was awful. He said "Get out of my face man". We left soon after. We will NEVER go here again. read more

This Friday, February 2, 2024 my girlfriend and cousin went to the Motown show, which was good. My major complaint was getting into our seats that we purchased. The staff was absolutely horrible in resolving the issue. There was three individuals that were seated in our seats and they refused to get out of our seats. I became extremely upset with them resolving this issue which took about ten minutes to resolve. The only reason why it finally got resolved was do to be almost getting into a fist fight with one of the morons. Once it was resolved a was so upset that the first half of the show was ruined. The staff actually wanted us at first to sit in seats that we didn't even purchase which were a downgrade to the seats we actually purchase. I rate your staff a ZERO. Aside from the Englewood nightmare of parking , I really like seeing events here. I love older buildings and this has a classic feel to it. I do think the bathrooms need an update and I wish they would not have a woman in there handing out paper towels that I feel pressure to tip every time I pee ! It's so awkward . They have a small bar that you can also get snacks like candy and popcorn as well as your beverage. They are actually very reasonable price wise. A decent Chardonnay for $7 is very fair. I love more intimate feel if the place. We saw a comedian and the sound quality was good. There are a lot of cute little restaurants on the street so it's a good place for a date night. read more

Very little legroom upstairs. There is a lot to like about the venue. The acoustics are good and the staff is helpful. Parking is relatively easy. However, the lack of legroom makes you feel like you're on a long flight on a low cost airline flight. read more

Recently we saw the Alan Parsons Project at BPAC. It is a fairly small venue but nice enough. I don't know the history of BPAC but if I had to compare it to the State Theater in New Brunswick or the Strand in Lakewood I would say it is lacking in eye appeal. I must say the acoustics were pretty good at least where we were in the orchestra. The decor was lacking for an old building. The chairs have plastic backs. Ceiling and wall ornaments were modest. I would expect better. Certainly worth going to, to see a concert though. read more

Love this place. Close to home (North Jersey), lots of eating places around, many good bands. Getting old and needs some refurbishing. Last concert we had no air conditioning up front. Senior citizens need to breathe ! :) They sell snacks, alcoholic drinks and last but not least my favorite...the bathrooms! Nice smaller sized venue- perfect for seeing children's shows as it's not too overwhelming. The location is convenient, though parking can be challenging depending upon the time. A ton of restaurants within walking distance make dinner and a show a convenient date night. I can here to see the hungry caterpillars with my daughter and seats were great for $30 plus fees. We grabbed popcorn for $5 and I woils have grabbed a glass of wine (they have a full bar) but it wasn't that type of event Local gem of a theatre. read more

Small venue which is nice. Even though the event we went to was sold out, they were quick with scanning tickets and security. The wait was not long at all. When we were getting to our seats the ushers walked you over rather than vaguely point in the direction of your seats. They are pretty strict with phone usage, so just leave it in your purse or pocket for the few hours. You'll have to find parking around the area, but usually there's a spot not too far away. The summer can get a little busy so plan accordingly. read more

Saw Sons of Apollo this evening. I've probably been to 1000 shows over the last 30 years. I go to two or three a month on average. Never have I left one because the sound was so bad it was making me physically ill until tonight. At one point I thought my ears were actually bleeding. I'm not sure who runs the PA at this venue but they should be fired immediately. Wasted 100 dollars on tickets. read more

I can understand the low rating of this facility. Last weekend I drove to Bergen PAC for a concert by Neil Sedaka. After a 31 mile drive and tolls all I found when I arrived was a darkened theatre with a small sign on the door that the performance was cancelled. I checked their site on my phone and there was nothing about the cancellation. Unlike the producers of Aladdin in NYC who contacted the news stations to get out the word that their performance for that night was cancelled BP did not. I spoke to them the following Monday and got a bunch of apologies which did me no good. I pointed out that next time they should try the Aladdin approach in the future but I got a bunch of excuses that they don't know and yada yada. Well find out, because there were a lot of angry people in front of the theatre that night and they may have lost a lot of customers as a result read more

I'll start with the good. The staff there was great and the headliners of the show were excellent as expected. That's pretty much the end of it. This venue is garbage. I am 6'1" and my knees were so crammed into the seat in front of me that it was painful. I finally had to stand up and go stand along the wall. This is where the staff took the opportunity to shine. They saw me and seated me in another seat that had a walkway in front of it so I was able to enjoy the show without being in actual pain. Unfortunately, I paid to share this experience with my teenage daughter and we were unable to sit together. I never pay for comedy shows because honestly, it's not like a music concert. You can get most of the experience just fine watching it on Netflix. My daughter loves John Mulaney and I'm a pretty big fan myself so I relented and bought the tickets to be part of the whole experience as this was part of her first trip to NY. I guess this isn't really the theater's fault but it was a nightmare getting back to our hotel in Manhattan afterwards. If you're going to schedule a show this late, those of us who aren't local aren't going to realize we can't just hop back on the bus across the river after midnight. It literally took us four hours to get back to our hotel. Never again! read more

I applaud BPAC for consistently providing top flight entertainers from the music and comedy world. It's a small and quaint venue where every seat is good and there are no large screens behind the performers. It's located in downtown Englewood where there are lots of options to eat and walk around before and after the show. I've had the pleasure of coming here over the past couple of years and seeing a couple of musical groups, most recently, The Doobie Brothers. There is limited on street parking as well as some parking garages within walking distance of the venue. There is plenty of security inside and outside the venue so you feel safe and secure. The staff is always pleasant and welcoming. Is the theatre a bit dated? Yes. Could it use some attention? Yes. Is only having one bathroom on the first floor an inconvenience? Yes. I don't think the acoustics are that great. Compared to other PAC's and similar type venues in the NJ area, BPAC might be running behind them a bit. However, seeing a legendary performer for a reasonable price in a small venue is well worth some of the short comings this PAC may present. I look forward to my next show at this venue. read more

We attended the Merle Haggard show last night and was impressed with how well run this facility is. A comfortable 1300 seats, easy to park and a very friendly staff. Bob was seating everyone and could not have been better for the job. He obviously enjoys conversations with everyone, treating them more like friends than customers. Merle Haggard did an excellent show, running just under 2 hrs with one of his sons as the warm-up act. Bar was doing a brisk business, looked like everyone was having a great time. Couldn't ask for anything more from this joint. Looking forward to another show there. read more
