AMC Theatres... the largest movie chain in the world. The Ridgefield location isn't anything close to being a luxury theatre. It's a bit dingy and outdated. But if you can look past that, you'll have a decently comfortable movie experience. PROS: -not as expensive as other locations -25% off tickets before 4pm daily -reserved seating that can be booked online -not as crowded (I avoid the AMC at GSP for this reason) -reclining seats -good amount of leg room -has all the latest movies with variety of showtimes -large screens with quality sound system CONS: -lack of sanitation and cleanliness in the theaters, bathrooms, and concession areas -they don't have as many screening options like Dolby Cinema and Laser Projection -some seats are worn down and/or recliners do not work -parking in the garage can be difficult to find and the layout is confusing -no dine-in options, but offers the basics (popcorn, nachos, icees, hot dogs, pizza, candy, etc.) The facility needs major updates. The staff needs to be more mindful of cleaning and maintenance. There's a bunch of FILTH underneath the theatre seats. On my most recent visit a few weeks ago, there wasn't an employee present to scan and check tickets/payment, so people could just enter as they please. Not the best location, but it does the job.

I was in town visiting family and came by this theater. Back when I lived in the area it was "new". Since then it's aged quite a bit. The seats were comfortable since they do recline. The concessions did close halfway through movie so that wasn't convenient. In the end it was still enjoyable.

Came here to watch NeZha 2 and the sound was a bit too loud even though I sat all the way to the back. They need to fix up a bit and make sure things are running properly in order to provide excellent customer experience and attract customer, otherwise this place might close down soon as it was running like a ghost town... I gotta say, this place got free parking and ample space. Tho the parking was a bit run down as well...

Okay I went there to see the Super Mario movie. First off there is plenty of parking so no need to worry about that. Second it's Very clean! Service was nice. AMC has some bundle deals for those who want popcorn and drink. The seats were very comfortable and they recline as well. Although be aware the men's room is currently out of order. There aren't that many games out in the Lobby area though. But overall it was decent. I would go here cause it was not crowded! Thanks for reading I'll catch you on the next bite!

This movie theater is my favorite for two reasons: 1) ticket prices are probably the cheapest in the area, and 2) it has showings of Korean movies. However, I am holding off on five stars because the theater does tend to be bare bones, examples being multiple clogged sinks in the women's restroom and recliner seats, albeit comfortable, having the seat covers misaligned due to wear and tear. Still, you can't beat paying around $10 + tax for matinee tickets so I will continue to be a customer of this AMC.

First time back since Covid began. It's been over 1.5 years since being at a theater. It took Shangchi to bring me out :-)

Customer service has declined, and it's not tidy. At least they have the reclining seats. Though those are getting pretty beat up now. This location is in need of some TLC.

I'm an AMC A-Lister so I go to the movies a lot. We decided to go to Ridgefield Park to see Spider-Man because the 3 seats I reserved looked to have a good amount of space between us and the people in front of us and Covid. I loved that part. The theater is pretty basic. Seats look old. The material is peeling on a lot of them. They do recline so that's a plus. I bought tickets for 3 seats in a row of 4. Only 2 of the 4 seats worked. My sister had to sit up the entire movie. My sister found multiple strands of hair in her popcorn. I've never had this issue at any other theater. The tickets were cheaper then my usual spots. I doubt I return here. It's a little out the way and it was nothing special about it.

Ask the Community - AMC Ridgefield Park 12

The food menu - do do have tables and seating in the lobby? Or are you supposed to eat while watching the movie at your seat?

No tables or seating in the lobby...this is a very bare bones AMC, nothing special. If you want seats nearby an AMC lobby, recommend going to GSP AMC and sitting at the food court nearby the theater.

Is this theater dine in now?

    No it's not.

What is the phone number for this place? The one provided is disconnected

First of all... you simply cannot beat the pricing!!! All movies beginning before 3pm are just $8! After 3pm, adults are $10 and children (under 12) + senior citizens are $9. Unbeatable prices. You can buy your ticket(s) online and they'll email you the QR code. Note that there's a 50 cent fee. It's located on a busy main street, so street parking can be tough. Luckily there's a free municipal lot around the corner. So if you don't mind walking a block or so, park there! Yes, it's outdated and a little dingy. But I think it adds to the nostalgic charm. Carpets and wallpapers with funky patterns, retro arcade games, antique artifacts, vintage photos... such a throwback! They have a concessions station with your favorite snacks like popcorn, nachos, and candy. Not a lot of food options like the big name theaters, but the prices are a lot lower. You can even get free refills on popcorn and fountain drinks when you purchase the largest size. They only show four movies at a time with limited showtimes, so that can be a drawback. But they do have a good selection of first-run films for both children and adults. Of course, you get what you pay for. This isn't AMC Theatres lol. The theaters are small, so I would suggest coming early during popular times, especially if you're watching a newly released film. There aren't reserved seats, so first come first serve. No stadium seating. The chairs are leather and were comfortable with enough leg room. No recliner. There's a small table with a cup holder for each seat. I didn't experience any technical issues during the movie. Visual and audio quality were clear. They have a surround sound system and the screens were the perfect size. I watched a 6pm showing on a Thursday and had the whole theater to myself. I loved it. You can even book a private event or birthday party. I'll be coming here more often. Keep supporting your local movie theaters :')

The upper section has no bathrooms, but rather porta-potties, which aren't cleaned daily and are very dark at night. Another concern is projector brightness. Screen 1 has the brightest and largest screen and even dark themed movies are quite visible even in the rain. It helps that the projector is housed across the snack bar and very close to the screen. Screens 2 and 3 are projected from much farther away and into smaller screens. It seems that the projectors must be upgraded to liquid cooled laser projectors, whose brightness and clarity isn't affected with a proper lens. Instead in a dark themed movie, all one sees is only what is bright and so you're left guessing what's going on in the screen. This totally ruins the experience of going to the movies. There aren't many outdoor movie screens left and having the opportunity to enjoy one is an amazing experience. I truly hope and pray management addresses these issues, so that this establishment can continue to be enjoyed by generations upon generations!
