After having a deal done (no negotiation I just accepted the numbers they gave me), then waiting weeks for one of their new EX90's to get out of the shop for a myriad of known problems/recalls before they could sell it, they tell me they are canceling the sale based solely on me asking followup questions on the work that was performed. They say Im "questioning their integrity" according to Bill.. before he hung up on me! What a complete JOKE this dealership is. The only integrity that needs to be questioned is of these 2 people and the dealership itself, to go through a sales process with a customer, keeping them on the hook for WEEKS only to cancel the deal because a knowledgable buyer wants to ask questions about the work that was done. Not to mention any time I spoke with Mike or Bill during this process, the tone on the phone was always such that I was completely ruining their day. First off let me say I LOVE my XC40 I purchased from Bergeron a few months back. We recently ended our lease on a Land Rover which was the second vehicle in the household. Since we love the Volvo so much we decided to try out a XC90. Found one on their site and reached out. No response. Emailed my original sales person. No response. Stopped by this past Saturday. One sales person working. When we inquired about the vehicle and the financing promotion, listed on their site, he was clueless. He stepped away to speak to someone and they didn't know either. I pulled up, again their site, and showed him. We were then informed that it was a loaner and they didn't know when it would be back. He didn't offer any other options even though one of us was sitting in the model on the showroom floor. We left and drove down to LandRover and drove a few vehicles. We still were leaning toward the XC90 so we reached out yet again and connected with Samantha who was very pleasant and committed to researching the vehicle in question and get back to us within the hour. That was two days ago. This quite honestly would've been one of the easiest sales of their month. I gave two stars because I love my vehicle ,the dealership on the other hand ... well yeah. I bought my Volvo from Bergeron and had my service done here several times. They've always been a bit unresponsive and unreliable. For example, forgetting to call me when the car is ready for pickup, forgetting to do the software update, not checking if an issue is actually fixed, etc. This year, my car needed the 50k mile service, wheel alignment, and the start/stop function fixed. It took them 3 days. They claimed to fix the start/stop function, charging me $220 for a new battery, but it's still broken. Edit: Bergeron responded to my review and asked me to call a number. I called, it went to voicemail, I left a voicemail, and Bergeron never called me back. I tried again two days later and it went to voicemail again. read more

It seems the receptionist was new and didn't know the ropes. I think we all know the power of a strong front desk. First impressions are so important in sales. Recently brought my Volvo S80, which was purchased from Bergeron Volvo, in to the service department at Bergeron to get the A/C checked. Once the service advisor plugged the VIN into his system, he informed me that they couldn't work on it because it was too old and I hadn't had any service done on it at Bergeron in several years. That was it - threw his hands up and handed me back they keys to leave. How's that for service after the sale! Brought it to the dealer that sold me the car and they refused to even look at it! So this dealership must not be in the business of selling cars. they have a New 2022 VolvoXC90 Recharge Plug-In Hybrid T8 Inscription Extended Range for $80k on their site, but wait it's not new it's a demo with over 3,500 miles on it and the manager Bill Thomas refuses to reduce it or even negotiate. I later called and spoke to another sales person who went as low as 78K, but when I countered his offer he ghosted me. If they don't want to accept an offer at least have the decency and professionalism to tell me so not just ignore me. what is this dealership staffed with 3rd graders? I absolutely loved my experience at Bergeron Volvo. Bill and Billy Thomas were amazing sales advisers. They were not pushy at all, and they didn't try to sell me something that I did not need. From the moment I decided to custom order a Volvo, through the months that it took to arrive from overseas, Bill Thomas kept me in the loop of progress. He would call me to let me know my car was on the boat, in the states, and he let me know when it arrived at the dealership. In between all of the updates that were given to me, Bill and Billy Thomas were always very communicative and responsive if I had a question regarding my purchase. At times I felt like I was bugging them, with my last-minute questions, but they always put me at ease and were a font of knowledge and information about Volvo. To say I am disappointed and furious about the product I was sold and the customer service I have received is an understatement. I got a 2022 Volvo XC60 on March 8. On March 9 my car was already in the shop for infotainment issues. It went back to the shop a few weeks later for similar infotainment issues and SOS error messages. A few weeks after that my car stopped three times at red lights and refused to start. It was a hazard to both myself and other drivers around me, which is ironic since I bought this car for its safety and dependability. On May 17 my car went back to the dealership for the third time and had to be towed because it would not unlock. I just got it back, after 17 days, and the invoice only says they charged the battery and did a system update to the infotainment system, but they were still unable to identify the source of the problem. During this time I was provided a loaner, which did not arrive on time making me miss work meetings and appointments and being without transportation for 24 hours, and then missed a family funeral because I was not allowed to take the loaner out of state. They did eventually offer to rent me a car to go to the funeral, but it was only after they knew I had to have already left days before. Many times I have requested to speak to the owner, who I have yet to hear from. Instead I receive calls from the service manager who acts annoyed whenever I ask for an update on my car. They never call me, never return my calls or messages, and when I do speak to them I am treated like a nuisance. So much for "luxury". I believe my car is a lemon and the lemon law lawyers agree. Debating whether or not to pursue a case. Likely will since Bergeron does not care about my safety, my job, my family, or my hard earned money. They couldn't even return my car clean, despite it being spotless each time they retrieved it. Is it too much to ask for paper floor covers when these guys are driving around in my car getting dirt and dust on my floor mats or to wash it? For a $60K + vehicle I expect a better car and better service. At least some common courtesy. I have done my research and know I am not the only annoyed new volvo owner who is experiencing this with this model. Do yourself a favor and avoid it at all costs. I can't blame the dealership for the issues with this car as it seems they are all bad, but they do not know how to handle themselves in a professional manner. Quite possibly the worst dealership I have encountered. If I could have given zero or negative stars I would have. First, I'll start with the car I leased from Volvo - xc90 hybrid model. When purchasing the car we could never get the wireless phone charging to work but we were repeatedly told by the salesperson that it just "needed to be activated." That was a lie. After researching on redit this feature does not work for iPhones in Volvos - atleast for the 2021 model...perhaps they fixed this for 2022 and beyond. Then there's the "hybrid" aspect of the car: after giving it a full nights charge it never could even get me 3 miles and back on hybrid mode. I was also told it would charge on long drives...this too was a lie. So now I'll get to the experience at the dealership. Anytime we had to deal with anyone there we were treated so poorly. We contacted Volvo financial (who owns our car) to discuss an early lease termination bc we were so disappointed in the car. They agreed to this without any penalties or fees bc the used car market is so good right now. When we attempted to return to Volvo dealership they pretty much refused to take it back and told us Volvo financial was lying. So after another week and getting it all in writing from Volvo financial we return the car to the dealership. Upon returning we have to get a signed odometer statement and let Volvo financial know who we left the keys with. The person helping us refused to give us his name! He was so rude the receptionist got embarrassed! Between the car being a sub par product with many issues and the dealership being rude and outright lying about the cars capabilities I'm not sure why anyone would purchase anything from there. read more

We brought out Volvo in for a safety recall ( all 4 internal door latch) and upon arrival we noticed that the windows and door handles did not work as when we dropped it off. My wife spoke to the service advisor which was very rude to my wife. After that she contacted the general manager (bill Thomas) and the service manager (bill Christina) and they told us the would have a technician look at it the following day. They returned a call saying they they found a wire inside the door panel that had gotten broken. But I'm assuming that the wire shorted out while they were doing the recall and Burnt up the module/computer. They explained to my wife it would cost 1,700+. After this was told to us we called and left many messages to a mclean bergeron without no response. Here I go....In late May 2023, I had three dash warning lights pop up regarding ABS, traction control and city safety. I called to make an appointment and was informed the soonest was July 3rd. I brought my car in on that day. I also informed the service tech that my AC was making noises just like I had done the year before when I was in for yearly routine maintenance and was told my AC was fine. This was when I still had an extended warranty. I was notified at 4pm on July 3rd that they had a backlog of cars and could not get to mine. Well, I was notified after 3pm on July 5th that I had a bad wheel sensor, needed new front and rear brake pads as well as a new AC compressor. Granted I have a 2013 Volvo with about 43k miles and it is routinely serviced. Well after I was given the news, a sales manager calls me to ask if I would be interested in a quote for trade in. I am sure he probably knew I had a bad compressor and that would affect trade in value. I asked him about the AC situation and advised that I had noticed the noise the year before when I was still under extended warranty. He advised the extended warranty does not always cover a problem if it is not completely broken. I now have to schedule another appointment to fix the AC and the brake pads and pay an additional $2500 to fix since I no longer have an extended warranty. Oh and when I checked my car in I was assigned a service manager and was ghosted by him. I ended up with a service manager that I avoid and has not been the nicest over the years. After I left a bad review I was contacted by Bergeron Volvo Service Department and they rectified all of my issues listed immediately, next day. I appreciate the prompt response to problem solving. Customer Service is what makes a business. In general I would pay more for a service or an experience that has top tier customer service. It would have been less stressful (for them and me) and more courteous of them the address the issues before I left a negative public review. I prefer to leave positive reviews but I focus on honest reviews. It feels overall that the service department is not well organized and thus simple issues can take a long time to resolve. It's apparent staffing is a problem and I understand that on occasion getting skilled, hard working, and reliable employees can be difficult. Again I appreciate them reaching out to quickly resolve the issues I had experienced. This has restored my view of Bergeron Volvo back into a more positive light. read more

So we walk in looking for an xc60 with a budget of around 50k and we're told by the sales person that they didn't have any of those at this dealership and that we should try the pre owned vehicle section instead. We weren't offered a test drive which is what we were looking for given the fact that we have driven an xc40 and now wanted to test drive the xc60 and compare the two. I don't know if we were treated this way because it was close to closing time but this left a really bad taste in my mouth and we will be purchasing a vehicle elsewhere with a dealership that takes the time to help us find the vehicle to that we are ready to buy. It's really a shame because we were really impressed with Volvo and how much better it is than it's other competitors. read more

Worst customer service experience I have ever had. I will never go back here again. I know it is a bit of a drive, however All Star Volvo of Baton Rouge is light years ahead of this dealership in both professionalism and customer service -- the level which you would expect from a luxury auto brand. My experience started with an incredibly rude service tech that told me that under NO circumstances would they provide a loaner vehicle for the warranty work that I needed done -- mind you that my Volvo is still under the original factory warranty... The ticket value didn't matter, and they only provide rental vehicles to customers that purchase their vehicles from the dealership. He was so rude that I asked to speak with a manager. Apparently the sales manager is responsible for setting policy for the service department. There is a laugh! How dysfunctional. Dealers make their money in the service bay, and of course a SALES manager is going to set some ridiculous policy like that to help him sell... this is not a great policy for bringing in revenue to the dealership. Here is where things got ugly... the sales manager actually had the audacity to begin arguing with me on the phone, telling me that it was standard industry practice to not provide any kind of loaner car for someone who didn't purchase their vehicle from that particular dealership... let me clarify really qucikly... I just moved here from CA, so it wasn't like I purchased my vehicle from a competitor and price shopped... but even if I had that shouldn't matter. All dealers I have had experience with in California, Nevada, and Arizona have provided loaner cars if they needed to do major work on the car. So, I was already done with this dealership... but to add insult to injury, he told me that most of my warranty work wouldn't be covered because I purchased my vehicle used. He then used a tone of voice belittle me and put me down for purchasing a used car... it is a 2012 and I bought it with less than 30,000 miles. I will NEVER do business with them, and I highly recommend that you head up to Baton Rouge. It is worth the drive... UPDATE: Baton Rouge Volvo fixed everything. Three experiences with them, all bad. Could not replace a belt correctly. Drove to Mandeville and belt was off. Called and they said to bring car back in. The tow charge would be more than the repair cost. Tried to give them another chance and had problems even getting in contact with the service department, voice mail hell. Sent an e-mail from their web site. When I finally got in touch with the service department, the guy lied about calling me several times and getting a busy signal. (Not possible). Bergeron Volvo's used lot has been the worst car buying experience we've ever had. They don't seem to have a page so since we bought a used Volvo and we use the Volvo service department, it's going here. We bought a used car in 2016 an salesman named Mike. He was new, very uncertain, but genuine and didn't have that salesman swagger so he was nice. That car just wasn't a great fit for us so before long we sold it and found a 2012 Volvo C70 on their lot in great condition. Mike was no longer there so we asked the available salesman there to get us the details (it was so new it didn't even have a sticker yet) and gave him a card. Two months went by and no word. We went back and test drove it with a different salesman - had a few questions about the package, etc. He said he'd get us that information - gave him a card and a couple of more months went by and no word. At this point we're a little obsessed. We went back a THIRD TIME and into the Volvo dealership to try to get someone to get us the info we needed to purchase this car. The gentleman in there told us that he didn't work the used lot but he'd get the manager of that lot for us. Enter Jacques Legrand. All about getting the deal done, with all of the info we needed, very nice and I think it took about two weeks to complete the decision and make the deal. We finally felt like we were in great hands. Now here's where it really turns south. We told Jacques that we wanted to best warranty. The nose to tail, head to toes Volvo warranty - we weren't interested in the after-market and would pay for it. He showed us warranty options and again assured us that the most expensive one was the one we were looking for - it would also cover the convertible top which was what we were the most concerned about. We agreed and paid $3873 for that warranty and you know what? It doesn't cover half of what the brochure they gave us said it would. And it's not a Volvo warranty. We bought that car July 29, 2017. Here's how our year has gone. 1. The headliner fell in. Like, the entire headliner front to back fell in. I was driving with the roof on my head. And you know what? The warranty didn't cover that because it's considered trim, not a mechanical piece- the service guy laughed at me when I called and said "we always send people to Calamari Trim for this." (The headliner attaches with sticky pads on clips and in Louisiana in the summer guess what? That glue fails. And you have a roof on your head.) The owner of that shop had several C70s out there that he was fixing and he showed my husband how they do it and other things that will need to be fixed eventually. Luckily my husband works out at the racetrack and is a car guy with friends who are car guys so he fixed it. But come on. 2. The seat heater wouldn't turn off (that's fun in Louisiana.) And that seat heater wasn't factory installed (not even the dealership or service dept knew that until it wouldn't turn off) and so you know what? That's not covered by warranty. Good news: since they sold it to us with after-market additions they did fix that. 3. The door spring/hinge broke so the door wouldn't stay open. That was covered but when I picked it up the tech said "you got lucky. Usually this isn't covered." Exsqueeze me? 4. Most recently, a mechanical piece on the convertible top snapped so the back headliner gets caught on the back seat. That's not covered. We're still waiting for them to call us back (three weeks later) - we eventually just bought a plastic welder and fixed it ourselves. 5. While it was there for the above, they also discovered that there are bad motor mounts and a pump going out so they're going to fix that because THAT'S covered. But also, really??? 6. The washer fluids pump never worked and we pointed that out when we bought it. "Sure, we'll fix that!" And when we brought it to be fixed we had to go around and around because it wasn't covered by the warranty (that we'd just bought) and service had to talk to sales and yadda yadda yadda. It got fixed but was a runaround. That car has been in their service department SO MUCH and it had a spotless CarFax. So are Volvos jus garbage?? We didn't think so but we'll never buy another one. And we've paid for so many repairs (or had to fix ourselves) that we were assured by Jacques and the warranty guy Angelo were covered. I don't know what advice to give about this place other than to just avoid it. They will fully tell you things are covered and show you brochures and they are not covered, and you end up with a very expensive mess. They'll rarely have a loaner car for you to use to go back and forth to work while your car is in uncovered warranty repairs so get ready to use those Lyft coupons. read more

All dealerships are crooked and sneaky! Alas, they are a necessary evil. Back to my review of the service department. I have been getting my car serviced and repaired at this dealership for close to 7 years now - 2 different Volvos. I have noticed that the service department has recently gone through many changes. I'm a little torn because Lawrence was always my "go to" guy over there. He always took care of me. After many years, we developed a wonderful rapport, a friendship. I was disappointed to learn that he no longer works there. This week, I brought my car in. Like I said, I can tell that the place has changed. Anyway, Dana tended to my concerns and needs like a true professional. A++ for her. However, I was disappointed in another employee - whose name I will not mention. He informed me that the tow truck never delivered my car to the service department. What??? My car is not there? This was completely untrue. Do not tell a customer you do not have her car unless you know for certain. What is wrong with you? Laziness? Lastly, the service department has always been 100% fair and honest with me. I truly appreciate that. I almost failed to mention how pleasantly surprised I was when they brought my car to me freshly washed and vacuumed. Nice touch!! read more

Be very careful when dealing with Bergeron Volvo. I bought my XC90 2 years ago. My sales guy was great and very helpful. A couple months later I found out my boss was receiving phone calls from my loan company, and a few months after that I found out I was not disclosed the entire history of the car. I left multiple voicemails for the head manager, emailed him, and even spoke to others to get a direct contact for him. He failed to return any of my messages. In November, my airbag light came on, the manager of the service department told me I couldn't get in for a couple months. I asked him if the airbag light was anything to be concerned about. He told me "just don't get in a wreck" - it was pretty shocking to hear someone not take something like an airbag seriously. When now, my car is in the shop, and it's much more than just an airbag light. AND, through all this, I found out after my quote was sent to someone else's phone, that my number is no where on any documentation. Yet, I am who paid for the car, it's in my name, but 2 other phone numbers are on my account. I have left a message in the finance department for an explanation and fixing of the issue, with no return. I have quickly learned Bergeron has incredibly poor customer service. When you have a client who has had multiple things happen and no one can return a phone call or email, it looks very poor on a "luxury" car dealership. NEVER buy a car from these people. HORRIBLE customer service - truly awful. Been waiting to speak with someone for 20 minutes about having the unused portion of my gap insurance refunded. Just the latest in the complete lack of service I've received over the past two years as a Volvo owner and EXACTLY why I finally traded my Volvo in for a Benz. If you're going to spend the money on a luxury vehicle, do it somewhere that offers the service to match. This is NOT the place. 1. Purchased a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle with 7 year/100,000 mile warranty. Approximately 33k miles on it at time of purchase. At 43k mile maintenance visit, ask for wiper blades to be replaced. "Oh, you only get one free pair, so you should really wait until these have a little more wear on them." Fine. Back for 53k mile routine maintenance visit..."Oh, we can replace them, but you'll have to pay for them. For them to be free you would have had to replace them before hitting 50,000 miles." 2. Faulty windshield seal caused water to leak down the INSIDE of my windshield. Kept my car for two days to replace the seal (same windshield reinstalled). Two days. 3. Sunroof leaked after a heavy rain. Brought the vehicle in and was told it would cost $148 (over $160 with tax) to have the clogged drains blown out. Fine. Takes THREE DAYS to accomplish this feat. When I go to pick it up, I ask if there's a way to keep this from happening again. "Yeah, when you bring it in for maintenance just ask us to blow out the sunroof drains." ASK YOU?! Seriously??? 4. A week after picking it up from leaky sunroof visit, check engine light comes on. Bring it back in. Two issues found that are covered under warranty, and spark plugs need to be changed, not under warranty. "Since you're just under 60,000, I wanted to make you aware that we have a 60,000 mile maintenance package that covers (like fifteen items recited) for $859." Fine. Do that. Call the next day: "Oh, and your brake pads need to be replaced as well." Fine. Proceed. Two days later pick up my vehicle after paying the $1,200 bill. 5. About a week later, after a heavy rain on a Wednesday evening, there's water in my car. I can't see it...or feel it...or locate it...but I can hear it sloshing around on Thursday. Call the dealership, explain the issue. "We don't have any loaner cars. I'll have to call you when we get one." "Okay, but when do you think that'll be? There's what sounds to be a LOT of water somewhere in my car!" "I don't know; we'll call you as soon as we have a loaner available." Friday comes and goes after two calls to the dealership, neither of which was returned. Decided to make an online service appointment, and I see the 60,000 maintenance package I just paid $800+ for advertised for $359. Nice. 6. Stopped by the Mercedes-Benz of New Orleans dealership on my way to get my Volvo looked at ON MONDAY after it sat with water in it ALL WEEKEND LONG. They took the waterlogged trade, sold me an adorable GLK350 with low miles and great financing option (far superior to Volvo), were friendly, attentive and courteous, and treated me like a princess! That service has continued with gifts, follow up calls, and even a salesman picking my vehicle up from me across the lake to drive it to the dealership to have the windshield replaced (was cracked when I bought it and new windshield was on order) and then dropping it BACK off to me across the lake once installation was complete. Out of this world customer service! Bottom line: when you buy a vehicle from Bergeron Volvo, the adage that you get what you pay for doesn't hold true. You pay for more than you get. My concern is the personal information they require before they will tell you if they have part in stock or give you a price. Why do they need my name, phone number AND email address to answer a simple question, " do you have this part in stock?" And it's really rude to end a chat session only because the costumer does not provide an email address. Advice to potential costumers: don't use the chat feature thinking you can easily get information from them, they will ask for your contact info while they 'are looking it up," and then hang up on you if you don't provide it. read more

Service is terrible. $160 to run a computer check on my new XC 90 while it was getting the oil changed. The engine light wasn't on and I didn't ask for it to be done. They made me pay it anyway. $357 after taking it in for a regular service. Place is a rip off and a far way off from the level of service that Lexus provides. Won't buy a Volvo again. read more

First time coming and not too much impressed. Made a "reservation" for my car on Wednesday AM. Bunch of time slots open all day so one would assume they wouldn't be slammed. Get there and was told they are slammed and can't take my car but I was already there and someone already picking me up. So I leave it there. No one works on it for 2 days. All that for a $40 software upgrade and $150 in labor for an hour. I would've maybe considered to come back for other services but I think I'll pass. My suggestion: get rid of your online system. It's deceiving and can really put people who rely on their car for work purposes in a bad scenario. Also physical labor is different than updating software and that felt like rape. read more

I went here to look at a used car I was interested in from out of state. When I called, Trish answered and immediately answered all questions I had and said she'd get back to me soon. Within 30 minutes, I had a sales representative call and give me all information I needed to come. I went, was not pressured to buy the car. The car was cleaned and ready to go.
