I am happy to say that I went to Dr. Block to get a second opinion, if someone is going to pull my tooth I wanted someone with surgical experience, he told me that we will do everything in his power to try to save the tooth. So far so good, I still have my tooth! You cant find dentistry like this anywhere anymore! Every dentist you go to these days can only do bits and pieces, then they refer you to another guy for something else. I just want one chair and one bill and one place. It's a small office and the people there are really sweet and care a lot about their patients. I'm not terribly brave when it comes to dental work and he's always been very patient and understanding with me. (Yes, I don't like dentists.) I've had 3 wisdom teeth pulled by Dr. Block, each of them quick, painless, and without any complications. His practice is a little old skool, but that's ok. It means he's got simple, cost-effective solutions and has seen it all. He knows his stuff, yo. I highly recommend him.

Instead, the doctor was cruel, dismissive, and shockingly unprofessional. While I was in severe pain, she mocked me to my face, imitating me like a child. Although we have great dentists, she gets the royal treatment at Village Dental, Dr. Banaag's office. The staff is all friendly. Bernadette has been the dental hygienist who has cleaned my daughter's teeth the past two times we've visited, and she is fantastic! My daughter gets scared about some of the sensations and tools experienced at the dentist's office, but Bernadette put her at ease and talked to her the entire time. The office is definitely child-friendly. Dr. Banaag is a supercool guy with a very friendly, easy-going demeanor. My daughter loves it when he finally comes in and she gets to talk to him. As a parent, I appreciate that he tells me what to watch and where to give special attention when helping my daughter brush her teeth. The part that makes me really jealous is the awesome selection of things that my dentist doesn't offer. First, they have a cool, pink substance with which they swab your teeth. It shows where all of the tartar is, so that the hygienist can see where to focus when cleaning and scraping. They also have a pretty good selection of tooth polish flavors. My daughter was offered her choice out of strawberry, mint, VANILLA, or CHOCOLATE! Vanilla or chocolate tooth polish? I'm so there! Parking is available in an underground garage. Be sure to have your parking validated by one of the receptionists before leaving the office. I would definitely recommend Dr. Banaag and Village Dental to anyone.

Medical only covers once a year which totally sucks. Anyway I was hoping I didn't have a nervous breakdown in the chair due to PTSD from the old creepy dentist. I held it together and she was very kind. First of all scheduling was easy. I got an appointment surprisingly fast every time. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes in the waiting room, but they do seat you and make you wait. I worked in the dental field for over 20 years which I never tell people. I want to see how they do things. My last visit they sat me and she was still scaling teeth which is the start of a cleaning. She did apologize for the wait which I was fine. (I hate when they don't acknowledge it). She used topical per my request. It is helpful if you have not been in awhile. She had a brand new ultrasonic cleaner, but most of her equipment is dated and need of repairs. Everything appeared sterilized correctly. The x-ray machine has a wandering arm making the assistants job difficult. So as a patient for 2 years I have not had ANY cavities which is shocking. I always have cavities. So I find it hard to believe she over diagnosed someone on their review. She is very thorough and gentle. Is she chatty? NO Is this state of the art? NO Is it a good dentist. YES And that is a hard thing to find on Medical.

Needless to say it was uncomfortable and embarrassing because I had a hard time eating and they were in my smile line. Dr. Bui took on my dental mess. He made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process and told me to raise my hand if I needed something. I felt he was very compassionate. I have some fillings that have been solid since he did them when I was about 11 or 12 years old. I haven't had a cavity since then thanks to getting my teeth cleaned every six months and brushing regularly, but have had a few chips which Dr. Soldau has repaired. He's very skilled and experienced. If you have a condition that he can't handle, he will refer you to an appropriate specialist. He's never done me wrong in over 47 years. That says something about the man's skill and integrity. UPDATE 12/15/2016 Age (I am now 58) is finally taking its toll on my dentition. In 2012 I cracked a molar and ended up getting an implant from a nearby practice (La Jolla Oral and Facial Surgery.) Dr. Soldau prepared and installed the crown, which has been trouble-free. Last night two cusps broke off of a different molar, one that Dr. Soldau filled in about 1969! The original filling seems to still be intact. There was no bleeding and I have no pain at all, just an annoying rough surface. Of course I will go to Dr. Soldau as soon as possible. I'm hopeful that the tooth can be saved with a partial crown. In any case I know he will do the right thing.

My parents and my children go as well so we are a three generation family of customers. The thing that I like best about Dr. Soldau is that he always does my cleanings himself; I really don't like being pawned off on some dental hygienist. He makes sure that if I needed to come in that he would work around his schedule so that I'm able to get my care done in a timely manner. He never tries to sell me or have me get more work done then what I actually need. I've been to places where they I've been so uncomfortable and felt scared having to walk into the office. Not here. Dr. Quan treats you one on one and does not rush things. I would highly recommend coming here if you're in need of an amazing dentist.
