In my opinion, Dentist Rees takes advantage of your pain, circumstances, and most of all the Insurance claim process. From the reviews you will see one of his favorite schemes is the Porcelain Onlay/Crown Upsell. In other words, Mr. Rees is a Porcelain Pusher. He hides behind the convoluted Insurance process, and then blames glitches or staff to cover his tracks. On top of all of that, Rees also does shoddy work. The two Porcelain Onlays he pushed on me aren't even in my mouth anymore because both teeth needed root canal treatment, not Porcelain onlays. I suffered extreme pain, and a new dentist confirmed from past x-rays that the same decay was seen before and after the Rees onlay, and the best option would have been root canal to start with. Just 3 months after one of the onlays, I needed emergency root canal on same tooth. The other tooth he put a porcelain onlay has since been extracted, as well as the tooth next to it that Rees' lack of treatment contributed to. It's a drag that you need to adhere to the saying "Buyer Beware" when entering Rees' offices. It is what it is, and I only wish I would have had a second opinion before allowing the Porcelain Pusher to proceed. But wait... there's more.... A year and a half after Rees' upsell and shoddy work, I start getting blank invoices from him saying I owe $951. In November and December 2020, I specifically remember the office staff making me wait while they checked insurance deductible and coverages. I paid my portion on the spot based on the information this office provided. In May of 2022, almost 18 month later, I get a Blank Invoice from Rees with a Balance Due for $951. Even after requesting more information about this balance directly with Rees' office, I keep getting additional BLANK invoices monthly from Rees. Then in Sept. 2022 I get a letter from a Collection Agency stating I owe a balance. It was not until the beginning of October 2022, almost 2-years since the unnecessary and costly porcelain onlay procedures... I finally get an Itemized detail of the supposed charges. Beware of Robert Rees the La Jolla Porcelain Pusher. Get a second opinion, especially if he recommends a filling or onlay because there's a good chance he's upselling you. You also need to call the insurance company yourself before accepting what his office tells you is left on your deductible. Do not trust him or his staff, or you too will receive a blank invoice 2-years later. I already paid my $950 portion for these un-needed costs... money that should have gone to root canals to begin with... I refuse to pay additional because of incompetent staff and questionable business practices. Have you been ripped off by Rees? Or are you a former employee interested in whistleblowing? I plan to contact our local Television News Consumer Reporters in hopes they will report on this unscrupulous dentist. Please email porcelainpusher@yahoo.com with your contact info and your Rees Horror story.

Dr Rees is no longer my dentist due to the decline in the quality of his front office staff, hygienists, and his own work.

After the trauma, I had a big black triangle near my front teeth and incisors. Every periodontist from Dr. Pasquinelli in SF to a famous one in NYC said it's impossible to fix the papilla. It's one of the hardest thing to do as a periodontist. Then I found Dr. Nordland's website and flew in for a consultation. He said he could do it. I was skeptical at first. Some of the reviews were daunting and made me doubt Dr. Nordland. I went on my gut and did the surgery. Right after the surgery, it looked like it worked, but it slowly started retracting. I was so angry that I even wrote an email saying how dissatisfied I was with the surgery after 3 months. Little did I know the healing is a 2 yr process. After 2 yrs, my dentist said my gums looks really good and it's amazing what the surgery did. What Dr. Norland did was place a graft and over time that graft will grow towards the teeth. I'm here to apologize to Dr. Nordland and hoping this review will help others find him. The office and staff are awesome!

At age 75 I had reached the point where gum recession of my upper teeth (likely caused by years of…read moreover/incorrect brushing) needed to be addressed. Considering between plastic bonding and gum grafting, I concluded that bonding, while a cosmetic acceptable procedure had a relatively short lifetime, and that gum grafting would be the long-term and cosmetically ideal solution I was looking for. I was not put off by grafting as Dr. Nordland had performed the procedure on my lower teeth about a dozen years prior with outstanding long-term results. Dr. Nordland and his staff are excellent and highly skilled at what they do, and I am now one week past my upper teeth gum graft procedure. Looking back on the week, the process has been completely free of discomfort. And I anticipate the results will be as good as my previous graft. For anyone on the fence between bonding and grafting, don't let concerns over discomfort keep you from selecting the long-term benefits of grafting and Dr. Nordlan's exceptional team.

He did a fantastic job!! The pain after the surgery was minimal and controlled with pain medications he had prescribed prior to the surgery. Also, because of dissolving stitches and using my blood centrifuged platelets in the empty sockets, it accelerated my tissue regeneration, reduced the infection risk, and promoted faster healing. (It was such a dramatic difference from when I had a wisdom tooth removed by another dentist years before, and had shooting pains and headaches for a year.) Everyone was so professional and courteous, I was thrilled by how everything turned out. He even gave me discount on my charges (perhaps because I paid in full, I don't have dental insurance). I would highly recommend Dr. Sharifi to anyone needing oral surgery.

As a small business owner, I genuinely dislike leaving negative reviews -- I understand how much…read morethey matter. But my experience was so unacceptable that I feel obligated to warn others. I was referred to Dr. Evans specifically because he is a biological dentist who specializes in ceramic implants. I scheduled my appointment about a month in advance. Before my visit, I proactively sent my existing 3D scan to the office via file transfer so I wouldn't need to be re-exposed to X-rays. I called to confirm receipt -- and they confirmed they had it. When I arrived for my 2:00 PM appointment, the front desk told me I would need a new 3D scan. I explained I had already sent mine over. They acted as if they had no record of it -- until they suddenly confirmed they did have it. Fifteen minutes later, they reversed again, claiming they couldn't open the files. I knew this wasn't a file issue, since every other office I'd sent the same files to had opened them without any problem. Eventually a second staff member was brought over, and after another 15 minutes, the files were opened. After more waiting, a staff member came to take me back -- straight to the X-ray machine -- and asked me to remove my earrings for a 3D scan. When I questioned it, she left, returned, and confirmed they did have my scan. I was sent back to the lobby. I was then brought to another room where staff asked me the exact same intake questions that no fewer than five different people had already asked me. It was now 2:45 PM, and I had not yet seen the doctor. They also made sure to charge me for the appointment before any services were rendered. At 2:55 PM -- nearly an hour after my appointment time -- I informed the front desk I needed to leave to pick up my child at 3:00. Only then did anyone rush to get the doctor. Dr. Evans came in at 2:57 PM, provided no information, answered none of my questions, and concluded the appointment at exactly 3:00. That was a complete waste of my time and money. The office is disorganized, the communication between staff is nonexistent, and there is zero respect for patients' time. You are the paying customer -- and they will make you wait an hour without acknowledgment or apology. I would not recommend this office to anyone.
