I am a nurse and warning everyone before they come here to get dental work. As a young 20 year old I was told by the lead dentist here (Dr. Habashi) that I needed a double root canal after I cracked a tooth. Boy do I wish I had received a second opinion. I received booth root canals in the office, not even sure if it was done by an endodontist.... Dr. H is very charismatic and makes you feel comfortable so you trust him. After 5 years of so much pain, countless other dental visits (at a much more qualified office and endodontist referrals for the severe pain I have been in not to mention having to get both my crowns replaced that he did because they were done so poorly, it might be that I have to get two of my root canals replaced or the teeth pulled to get rid of the pain. I'm 30. From the moment that man touched my teeth he has ruined me. Please I beg of you, do not go here or get a second opinion before you let them do anything to you. read more

And in between, Kelsey, who did my cleanings, deep cleanings and all the time consuming and usually painful procedures did so with ease and with almost no discomfort at all. Dr.Tice was extremely friendly and it was nice meeting him as our potential dentist. However, we will not be returning. My husband and I arrived today as potential new patients. After x rays and an attempt to upsell us both with additional treatments (after we both declined it) by the hygienist, we were left in each of our chairs for an enormous amount of time before anyone came back to actually clean our teeth! At the two plus hour mark, both my husband and I decided to leave after being abandoned with no cleanings or communication! We walked out over two hours later with not one person coming in to assure us they they'd be right with us. I can't imagine if we continued to sit there and wait for someone to actually come back and clean our teeth? We would be there for 3-4 hours!! Who has time for this!? On a work day!? My husband also observed four patients in the waiting area, hovering around the front desk with no one there to greet them! What a mess of a place! I also felt a bit of unethical pressure to accept the upsell treatment and I was extremely frustrated watching the clock go by during a work day mid afternoon- no regard for their new patients time. No communication. Just abandoned in the chair!! My husband and I left. We didn't get our teeth cleaned! What the heck kind of experience was that!?? We will never go back. I would not recommend this Nicholas Dietz for a teeth cleaning. He provided a substandard incomplete teeth cleaning. I was looking for a new dentist to establish care and get a teeth cleaning. The practice had good reviews and he was available. After checking in, we did some standard X-rays of my teeth. However, after being seated, it took nearly 20 minutes for the dentist to arrive. I almost got up out of my chair because I thought he forgot about me. When he arrive, he spent about 2 minutes doing a dental exam and gathering a history. He then spent about 4 minutes doing scaling only on my bottom front teeth. He did not do any scaling on the rest of my teeth. As soon as he finished, I told him that I have tartar and stain in my back molars but he said his hygienist would polish it off. I thought the hygienist would do some additional scaling but she spent a few minutes polishing/flossing and then told me I was done. I told her to hand me a mirror and can see that the tartar and stains were not removed from my teeth. I had the dentist come back in to provide a more thorough cleaning. He spent another 15 minutes cleaning scaling my teeth and recommended I bleach my teeth for set in stains. This dentist charged extra for fluoride treatment and did not use an ultrasonic scaler. He spent about 10 minutes on my dental care. I would never see this dentist again. He provided a substandard incomplete teeth cleaning. I have had previous dentist and dental hygienist who were thorough and would spent 20-30 minutes cleaning every single teeth with a combination of scaling, ultrasonic scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatment. Because I had had proper teeth cleaning in the past, I know that my dental tartar and stains can be removed if cleaned appropriately. When I went home, I used my own scaler to remove the remaining stains that he said needed to be bleached. Unfortunately there this is not the first time this has happened to me. There are many dentist out there who will do these quick incomplete cleanings and bill insurance for the entire thing. However, I also have met great dentists and hygienist who have performed proper cleanings so I know how my teeth should look and feel afterwards. read more

Be VERY AWARE of this group and Ask a lot of questions before going. My wife and I recently turned 65 and received dental coverage with Delta dental group. Delta dental covers regular teeth cleanings and Tierrasanta Dental (TDG) take Delta Dental insurance. So, we make appopint for a norm teeth cleaning and then were told we had to have a full exam and xrays. OK no big deal as new patient. Then the Dental Hygienst looked at my wifes moth and proclaimed to needed "Detailed Cleaning" and they refused to do the normal teeth cleaning procedure that all dental hygienists do. This "Detailed cleaning" had to scheduled at a different time and costs about $1200!! CRAZY!! We have both received normal teeth cleaning 2x per year for the past 30 years. We wanted to try out TDG because our insurance would cover the cost. What a mistake that was. BUYER BEWARE AT DELTA DENTAL GROUP. Never ever seen a Dental office act like this. What a SCAM. I am the worst patient at the dentist and have an extreme phobia. This office made me feel so comfortable and safe. I had oral surgery there today and terrified doesn't even begin to explain my fear. I had nothing to fear though because everything was wonderful. I cannot recommend them enough. Each employee I met was calm, patient, and so caring with every single encounter, no matter how small. If you hate the dentist, I guarantee this will change that for you. Their employees were knowledgeable and very good with patient interactions. They didn't miss a single thing from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. Dr. Sami did my surgery and he was the absolute nicest person! He made me feel so safe and calm. I came to Tierrasanta Dental Group a few years ago because it was close to my house and they accepted my insurance. I was placed with Kelsey as my hygienist and that was the best thing that's ever happened to my teeth! I was like many of you, hated going to the dentist, it was never pleasant and most of the time it hurt. NOT HERE, Kelsey is so SO gentle and kind. She has such a warm spirit and after all these years, it feels like I'm just going to visit a friend. My oral health has improve drastically since I've been seeing Kelsey and that's a huge testament to how thorough she is, but also how she builds a relationship with her patients so they'll want to keep up with their appointments and treatments. Dr. Makadia and the entire team provided fantastic service. I've had many root canals over the years, and this was the most efficient, pain-free process I can recall. Their technology and COVID-19 precautions are top notch. If you need an endodontist, I recommend this team. I wont go back. I had an 11am appointment. Did not get seen until 12:08. Not one person came to tell me they were running late or apologize, had I not prepaid I would have left. They gave me no post op instructions, no conversation about how to care for my mouth. The nitrous i opted for did not fit my nose. It was a horrible experience. I will not go back. WARNING! This dental practice engages in unethical behavior. My regular dentist retired so I was looking for a new dentist. I had read in Reader's Digest that dentistry, unlike medicine, has no set standards or best practices that ALL practitioners must follow. I came up against the type of unethical behavior described in the article when I visited Tierrasanta Dental Group for the first and ONLY time. I'm in the chair. First, the hygienist comes in and pokes around. Then they take me to a different room where they did a great job with the x-rays / scans. I'm back in the chair and a dentist comes in for a few minutes and gives me a cursory examination. Then an office type comes in and says I need deep cleaning in 3 out of 4 quadrants. Displays a bill for $348, deep cleaning plus $78 per oral subgingival medicant. I think about it a long time. I haven't had a cleaning all during COVID---maybe I do need a deep cleaning this time (I've never had one in my life), but ultimately, I decline and ask for only the services my insurance covers. Hygienist comes back and performs one of the quickest cleanings I've ever received. I'm just about to go when she asks, "Did anyone discuss bone loss?". Says I have periodontal disease and will lose more bone. No one has EVER told me I have periodontal disease!!!!! I am 70, so bone loss could definitely be in the picture. BUT--if my bone loss is so obvious why didn't the dentist mention it? Wouldn't my gums be bleeding if I had periodontal disease? I leave with their dire warnings ringing in my ears, but feel good about not being "taken" for all these extra up charges. I waited until today to write this review to be sure my oral health hadn't actually deteriorated. Today, I saw a dentist who told me I have good oral hygiene and only need a regular cleaning. I have good bone structure based on what he could see in the x-rays. No mention of periodontal disease. BEWARE!!! read more

Dentist didn't even clean my teeth after a filling and I talked to the receptionist about adding a service when I made my appointment but it seems that was not communicated to the dentist or he had somewhere to be because he just immediately left the room? I cannot stress how fast he ran off. Dentist can't seemingly grasp the concept of stability for children, as he spent enough time complaining about the mask mandate not being lifted in schools. A little bit concerning, coming from a doctor working on you. Aren't they in this field to help people? The whole process was pretty fast, is it really that hard to hold back unprofessional/controversial discussion for a few minutes? On the bright side, they own their views! I can already feel that the filling wasn't shaved down properly because my bite is very different. This would've been great to provide as feedback if the dentist waited 2 seconds after putting his tools down to leave the room or maybe asked, but hey, maybe that's just me. I would've mentioned, but he didn't just bounced. Also the assistant kept looking out the window while having equipment in my mouth. If you don't want to be here don't, but you're getting paid for this service. Wouldn't it be common practice to not be bumping things all over my teeth and maybe be paying attention? I understand these people are learning, but it just came across as careless and distracted. A very palpable disinterest which is the opposite of what you want from a dental facility. She did seem nice, it's just an issue with the attentiveness and service, which I'd say is pretty important. At least they didn't accidentally pull out a tooth or something, but I figure time will tell how this treatment holds up. They seemed polite, politics and process aside. I have not cake to Tierrasanta dental a few times! Each time Jo has cleaned my teeth and she does an awesome job! Gentle yet effective. She's even convinced me to floss every now and then even though she probably wants me to flow twice daily.... Staff seems friendly and I also got xrays which didn't hurt, I've gone to a couple of places that put the piece in your mouth I'm such an awkward position. Not here! They accept my insurance and credit care which is awesome. It's easy to schedule and appt with email and phone call reminders. I've been to another place here I. Tierrasanta and it's hard to schedule an appt or change an appt because they only have certain days or hours available. I highly recommend this dentist office! read more

Staff and everyone is nice, but everything they did was like being in a used car lot. As a new patient, I was just looking for a cleaning. First thing i told them is I had just had a deep cleaning, full exam and fillings replaced 11 months prior. My old dentist was far away. They put me through the whole full mouth x-rays , which they botched several times, giving me some much needed extra radiation.... Then came the HAMMER. Apparently I needed a special deep cleaning. Plus i needed a filling on a exposed tooth. Ok i can see that i thought, i mean, I'm no dentist... Funny my last dentist (best dentist ever) didn't think so but hey its been a year..... This cleaning came with a total cost of ONLY $3300, BUT it includes a little bottle of free toothpaste....good news my out of pocket was just UNDER $900 with insurance. My lucky day!! Funny since my out of pocket at my last dentist was $1200 which included safe removal of 4 amalgam fillings, NOT covered by insurance, plus a deep clean and before and after supplements. So being stuck in the chair I let them do half my mouth for $350, no filling. Then i find out my insurance only covers a deep cleaning 1 time every 2 years, this keeps getting better. Called my old dentist and they told me not to go back. Said the $350 sounded like the no insurance prices. I had my old dentist finish the other half of the cleaning for $15 co pay and no difference could be seen or felt. The old dentist even told me to skip the filling unless it was sensitive.... which it hasnt cried yet, so I skipped it. Lots of dentists, find an honest one. read more

Just about a month ago, I cracked a tooth and was in the world's worst pain. It was like cramps and getting kicked in the **** all wrapped in one. Through the company I work for I had signed this place up as my preferred office. It's near work. Don't even bother going there! I had never been into the office but clearly this was an emergency. The dumb girl who answered the phone was rude and obnoxious and brainless. I understand it was a Friday but come on. If I could have planned my tooth ache wouldn't I maybe have planned to not have any????? The only thing she could tell me is they were closing early and she didn't know of any after hours or emergency offices, then she hung up. If this is who they choose to represent their office, I am sure they lose a lot of phone clients. I changed my preferred office to their sister office in RB minutes later. Here's what I don't get about the bad reviews for this place, if you come in with nasty teeth that you don't take care of, and have no dental insurance ... what did you think was going to happen? Context, people. Context. I go in for my bi-annual routine preventative cleanings and x-rays and never pay a cent. So if you have insurance and take care of your teeth, this place is tops. The lobby is very nice, there's a little room where the kiddos can play video games. They have current magazines (Kaitlyn and Shawn are in love, says People Magazine! But will they last!?), private bathrooms, and you can request a toothbrush or floss if you need to brush your teeth before your appointment. I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes to be seen. When I first started coming here about 5 years ago, in retrospect, there were some pushy practices; however, that dentist has since left the practice. Ever since then I haven't needed any work and they are always very honest about preventative measures and potential future work I might need. The equipment is all newer and I am usually in and out for my cleanings in under 40 minutes, depending on how busy they are. If I need work they'll offer to do it on the spot and always tell me what my portion of the cost will be first. You can also opt to schedule an appointment for another day if you're short on time. The dentists aren't there to hold your hand the entire time, they're often in and out of other rooms attending to other patients, multitasking. Some days are going to be busier than others, just deal. Read a book. Meditate. Take a minute to yourself! It's not the end of the world. read more
