The staff like the other care centers are the best, with their system of care and comfort they cannot be beat. Now I know why it's almost impossible to get in for care. Their kitchen menu is like gourmet food, and you can order ala-carte. There is a rooftop garden, with a fantastic view. An atrium with a lush garden I want in my backyard. A real gem in Piedmont in Oakland. I don't want to go home. Two weeks isn't enough to spend there.

The members of staff at Piedmont Gardens were very helpful and friendly. They were always in contact with me during the stay and kept me informed of my family's status no matter what happened any time of day. Nurses were easy to reach and administrative staff was easy to talk to. Facilities were clean, well kept, and up to date. If there were any unfortunate reasons why we would have to go back, I wouldn't hesitate to reach back out to Piedmont Gardens. I would also like to thank Georgia and Rogger for helping me navigate the stressful time with my grandparents recovering from their hospital visit. Their help allowed me to get the best care for my grandparents.

This is a beautiful space where people go to recover, rehabilitate, and restore their dignity and their lives. My 69 year old mother was a patient here and when she arrived doctors could arguably confirm she should be going into hospice, but we believed in God for her recovery - thankfully the owner Jim believed she could recover also. When she arrived she could not speak, feed herself well, and was physically weak all over. I was SO anxious to leave her in this state, but was immediately assured by staff that she was in good hands, and that she was safe. They nurtured her as if she were their family and I knew then even more that we chose the correct location. Within weeks she saw an eye doctor, physical therapist, speech therapist and occupational therapist. She participated in multiple types of activities (finger painting, gardening, celebrating birthdays, and her favorite - bingo!). After a month my mom graduated from puréed foods to a better diet, could feed herself, had less confusion, and was improving every single day. I am now happy to report she is even stronger, mind is sharper, speech is amazing, and can tackle occupational tasks that this facility assisted her to accomplish. It is the little things that we do every single day that we don't realize we miss until we don't have them. When we find ourselves in this place we need somewhere to go to recover - this is your place! The owner (Jim) will acknowledge you, spend time to speak with you, and the way he looks after his employees and is always upgrading the space shows deeply how much he cares. In my moms time there, they completed a beautiful remodel. Not once did this facility wreak of any smell. Jim - as I write this tears fill my eyes. I am SO thankful to God for your work! I am thankful for your spirit, and for showing up as your true authentic self! To ALL of the staff of Richmond Post Acute - you are all SO valued! You are all SO amazing! I pray you know just how much of an impact you are to the lives you touch! I pray that favor falls upon you. From the peace within my spirit - vibrant love and gratitude to you all!

He was pompous and full of himself and put a bad taste in my mouth. It didn't take me long to decide this wasn't a good fit for mom. The place looked cleaned and the workers seemed nice. Most rooms appeared very small though with three beds to a room; not okay in my mind even for a short stay. Do your homework and hopefully, you'll have a different experience considering this place appealed to me as it was close to home and had good reviews. Tours are everything!

There is garage parking, but it's for the workers. The receptionist is nice and requires a Covid test before entering. The place itself is well kept. It's nice and clean, there's an outdoor patio where you can get some sun. A few tables and chairs. Flowers and a small foundation. There's two sections of the building. There's no order or weird smell, this facility is very clean. For the most part, the nurses are really nice, kind and talkative once you get to know them. My mother goes there everyday so she knows all of their names. I have a few favorites because they give my dad amazing care. Even the male nurses and workers are great! They would come in and adjust my dad so he doesn't get bed sores. The respiratory therapist, Gina is amazing! She's so sweet. She's been taking care of my dad really well. Some of the nurses/CNA that I really appreciate and want to show recognition for their hard work is Maribel, Genesis, Michelle, Amanda, Sophia, Daisy, Edwin, Patrick, Ricky, Masa (spelling?) and a few others that I can't remember their names. I mostly know their faces when I come visit. My mother wanted to add: Karen, Liza, Edith who are social workers and they have been very helpful. The nurses, cna's, care takers are all careful when it comes to my dad's care. He can't be on his right side due to the brain injury he has. I would also like to say, the director, Shirley is very kind. She has been a great help during this difficult time for all of us. She's been really accommodating to my mother which I am very thankful. This place and staff is wonderful. They also decorate the courtyard for the holidays (see photos). No negative feedback at all. The janitors and clean up crew are also hard workers,

Lisa at reception is wonderful, helpful and reassuring and I look forward to seeing both these women every time I go in. More info in case this helps another woman: I was in a debilitating painful, dark, scary place for two months before I found PHRC and pelvic floor therapist, Tiffany. I cannot recommend her and PHRC enough. Not only did Tiffany listen to everything I had to say with compassion, respect and patience, she was able to diagnose my problem within minutes. Something my ob/gyn wasn't able to do for months and something supposed "specialist" Dr. Alexandra Haessler at Sutter Health (very dismissive doctor) wasn't able to do even though she somehow bears the qualifications of "urogynecologist". It wasn't just that I needed physical therapy, Tiffany was able to correctly diagnose something very medical that both these doctors missed! I'm putting this in the review in case some other woman out there is being told that it's neuropathic and/or that nothing is wrong by Dr. H or anyone else in spite of her symptoms and feels hopeless. It's not you! It's real. I wouldn't trust that diagnosis until you see a pelvic pain specialist like Tiffany. Unfortunately MDs in the Bay Area seem very in the dark about pelvic pain. Even after knowing what my medical diagnosis was and getting proper treatment for it (thanks to Tiffany) I'm still struggling to find a provider who is knowledgeable in it and its not for lack of trying. PHRC's entire mission and specialty is to help men and women with this type of thing and it shows and it is life changing.

I went CAMPING again and finally felt well-rested. I'm so happy. It's not just the clinicians -- the receptionist is friendly and helpful, the space is clean, and I'm so grateful I was able to receive treatment here. Sadly, they only take two forms of insurance: Kaiser and Brown & Toland.
