    Apple trees

My family and I come apple picking every year. It's an incredible tradition that we have kept going. We love to park in the lot across the street from the store. It gets busy so we try to go when they first open so we can secure parking and not wait in the long line for donuts at the end. They have bathrooms as well as port-o-potties. This is helpful for small kids. The apple picking bags are cash only. We can pick apples and pears in the same bag, which is the true gem. I don't know if another farm that gives you the option. The staff are all helpful and nice if you have questions. We love their honey crisp apples and their fresh apple cider donuts. They always have plenty of apples no matter when we have come. Their farm store carries tons of products. We always get apple cider as well. They have an area for pumpkins and several farm animals. We haven't done their corn maze or their hay rides but it looks like fun. All in all it's a nice family friendly place with so much to do.

This is a really fun and quintessentially fall place to visit. Parking was easy, and our first stop was the line to order fresh apple cider donuts. The donuts were delicious and fresh, and a little bit warm. We got a bag with a half dozen so we could take some donuts home, and they continued to stay delicious and soft for a few days after. Highly recommend microwaving them for a few seconds if you bring any home. The donut window also sold caramel apples that looked tasty. We then stopped inside of the store that sold pre picked apples, other apple products, maple items, etc. I got a small bottle of fresh pressed apple cider that was super fresh and tasty. Our last stop was walking around the property to see the different farm animals. We only did a small portion of what this place offers and we had a great time. You could bring kids or adults here, and I think all ages would have a great time and be able to find things that interest them. One thing to note, you have to spend a minimum of $5 to use a credit or debit card so it would be a good idea to have some cash on hand.

Go early! Came here for a few years now and was lucky to get parking at lot A every time. Be sure to arrive by 9am. Nobody at store, line for cider or cider donuts, plenty of apples, etc. Usually out of there by noon before the crowds. Made a mistake by arriving an hour later this year and what a mess. 45 mins to get cider donuts, almost an hour to leave the parking lot, 30 mins for toilet. Staff need to re train on re directing traffic. Nobody in our lot was able to leave while the other lanes were constantly moving. Honeycrips were available second week of Oct this year. Plentiful of harrow sweet pears. Never tried? You must next year. It's like a hybrid of pear and apple $5 for the monster maze and it probably takes an hour to find your way out. $2 for hayrides. Bring food if you don't want to wait for burnt hot dogs or burgers Nice orchards. The trees are super tall unlike others. It's huge and plenty of apple and pear options for everyone. I even saw wild turkeys roaming around. It's not their fault that some areas are muddy. Just wear proper shoes. No dogs allowed and cash only. They do have atms. Buy a small bag for $25 and will cover admission for three people. Large is $38 (admission for 5 folks)

Charging for the hayride ? Meh Trekking a quarter mile to the first available apples? Meh No handicap parking ? Meh $38 for a bushel of apples we should get a better experience IMO.

Best value for large families looking for apple picking. $38 gets you a huge bag and admission for 5 people. Cash only but ATMs on site. There were also an amazing variety of apples avail end for end of Sep. Food: not listed on their website but there is a grill that offers hot dogs and hamburgers so lunch. Cider donuts are $1 a pop are hot and fresh and melt in your mouth. You can get an entire pie for $18. The line is long but moves fast. Hard cider tent for adults overlooking the pond that is available from 12-4 weekend. Activities: A wonderful scenic hay ride around the entire farm with unlimited stops is only $2. The hedge maze is a legit and great for adults and older kids. Parking: plenty of free parking. They can handle crowds on a busy day

Went early to avoid the busiest time of the day. 4 of us needed a $38 bag. Well worth the family experience! Be ready to do a lot of walking! Big orchard!

We got there on October 31 (Halloween) as they opened. We felt like we had the whole orchard to ourselves. We walked all the way to the back to find the evercrisp apples! Along the way were apple trees of all kinds and GORGEOUS BREATHTAKING scenery! We fell in love with New England at this orchard! The weather was cool so we wore flannels over a t shirt. As the sun came up and it got warmer we tied our flannels around our waist. Check the weather forecast before you go and dress accordingly. I was told that the weekends get ridiculously crowded so try going during the week. We bought a large bag for apples because it was on sale for $19 that day (normally $40). You're able to sample apples from any tree and you can throw them under the tree if you don't like one. We filled our bag with apples and it was pretty heavy to hug back. The trails are not paved and are not handicap accessible which was the only thing I did not like. After walking back, we stopped at the store to buy souvenirs. I got some apple crisp mix, cider, postcards, and sugar cinnamon apple cider doughnuts! My boyfriend purchased a spice mix to add to hot cider for Thanksgiving and Christmas. There were lots of fresh apples, squash, pears, jams, jellies, apple butter, apple salsa, and apple pies for sale as well. Outside there was a free pumpkin patch, farm animals which were free to pet and a hay ride for $2. When we drove back to Boston, we drove through Cambridge and stopped to check out Harvard. All in all it was a lovely, unforgettable day trip!!! I would absolutely recommend taking a family outing to the Honeypot Hill apple orchard.

This will be the third year I've come to Honey Pot for apple picking! They have everything you need for a fun day filled with fall activities. Plenty of apple trees with ladders for apple picking and they also have other fruits like pears and blueberries. Lots of other activities like an area with different animals to feed and pet, mazes, hay rides, and a hard cider tent with live music. They have a food stand with some burgers and hamburgers - I do wish they had more options. However, the apple cider donuts and apple cider make up for it!

** Cash Only Entry** Farm store and donuts accept card Came here two weekends ago when we thought it would be the last day 70°F out on a weekend in October and wanted to be outside and my friend said she's never been apple picking in MA before so we came here. It was $22 for the 10lb bag and granted entry for 3 which was reasonable. It was very crowded so it seemed like minds thought alike to be outdoors on probably the last nice day before it gets cold. The orchard that is in the vicinity of the entrance was a lot more crowded and barely any apples than the area across the road. There were lots of apples to pick on the other side especially the farther you walked away from the entrance. We were able to pick: McIntosh, Empire, Macoun, Cortland. There were 2 or 3 more varieties as well but I don't remember the names. There was a really long line for the farm store and donuts. But if you're with a group splitting up helps and the lines move at a decent rate. We got apple cider donuts. Comes as a standard bag of 6 for $5. They were so good. Hot and soft that it was crumbling in my fingers I had to eat it fast. We also got a bottle of cider for $4. Very nice and refreshing.

The foliage was gorgeous here! There were several different types of apples available: Macintosh, Empire, and Iona Gold (the ones I picked). They even have ladders to help you get the apples from the very top, but there were plenty in arms length so don't worry about having to climb if you don't want to. They have a maze and hayrides if you want to do more than just apple picking. The apple cider donuts and apple cider were so tasty, I highly recommend you try some if you do come here Overall, really good time!

I had so much fun here, that I ended up coming back a total of three times for the apple picking season. (Friends and family all wanted to give it a try this year and I couldn't say no to coming each time they asked) The apples were sweet and amazing, the cider donuts were fresh and hot with a nice crispy outside and a soft cake inside. There is a choice of getting the cider donut without the sugar coating, but I highly recommend getting it with the sugar coast. When you go into the farm store, you buy fresh apple cider, and apples that have already been picked and bagged for you. Additionally, there are baskets of apple to sample from, so that you know which is the one for you. Additionally the staff are more the happy to help you with where to find the type of apple you are looking to pick if you want to head out and pick your own apples. Beyond just apple picking and eating cider donuts, they have a huge hedge maze, and animals to feed. An absolutely great place to come and spend the day. The one draw back I will say is when it comes to parking and driving out of the parking area (during the busy season....aka apple picking season...) please have some patients, it's a big place and I believe they may have been understaffed this year so it was very hard to navigate out of the lots (no one to police the traffic to allow the other lots out as they all merged into one lane out of the orchards so that people in the back lots were stuck for a long time (lots of people riding their horns)

I came here with a big group in early September. It was a warm day out and didn't exactly feel like apple picking weather, but the advantage was there weren't a ton of people there. They had a pretty big parking lot, but I could see it filling up on a busier day. The orchards were pretty nice and the selection of apple varieties was great. I think my favorite had to be the Red Delicious ones. For every 3 bags, you get the 4th free, so make sure to take that up if you're in a group! They also had blueberry picking, but I didn't get the chance to pick any blueberries. They had a place off to the side where you can get hard cider, but I wish they had more fall-themed goodies, which I've seen at some other spots. There's nothing like having some fresh cider donuts after a day of apple picking.

Is there a place to eat at besides eating the pastries and fruits they have at the farm store?

Typically on weekends from September through October they have a grill that serves hamburgers and hot dogs, occasionally they'll have a special sandwhich like pulled pork. And water and cider to drink. The past couple of years they have had two… Read more

From Boston, it's a scenic drive out to Stow. I couldn't stop gushing over the foliage on the way there - I've turned into a total leaf peeper. Carver Hill is absolutely stunning in the fall, definitely worth a trip. Pleasantly surprised to find the lot half-empty when we arrived on the later side of a Saturday but then it filled up by the time we left around 3. To your right, as soon as you drive in, you'll see an area with pumpkins and the farm store - this is also where you get PYO fruit/veggies if you're paying with credit. If you have cash on hand, you can pay for a bag at the little stand right in front of the orchard. A peck (the smaller bag) was $25. I was a little skeptical at the size but it's a good deal if you really pack your apples in there. From there, the apple orchard. Not the biggest I've been to and the selection was understandably limited. We missed the sign to download the QR code for a map of the orchard and so had to rely on a photo of a thin pole with all the names/colors wrapped around it. Don't forget to stop at the store before you leave. I grabbed some pumpkin pie, jam, and an apple cider donut - they also have apple cider slushies and multiple flavors of ice cream. The donut was THE BEST, made fresh, almost falling apart, thick and generous coating of cinnamon and sugar (also tasted nutmeg and allspice in the coating). Absolutely worth waiting in the line for, but make sure to pay first and get a little yellow receipt/tag from the register before you get in line for the donuts.

Went with my husband and 10month old to pick some asian pears and honeycrisps. There was organized and ample parking. The main paths have large gravel rocks that were loose and uneven and a grass strip in the middle. It was a bit hard to push through even with our stroller with large wheels. The tractors that occasioned through blew the dust up around the paths too. There were plenty of porta potties and I also liked they have a hand washing station too. We didn't try any of the food trucks but appreciated the option. Farm stand was small, there were some picnic tables but could have been more (potentially near the food trucks) There were some chicks, bunnies, a goat, and donkey? to look at. From what I could tell, there are larger orchards in the area but Shelburne seemed to have everything you need - a food truck (with an excellent burger and pulled pork sandwich), a hard cider place, the aforementioned apple cider donuts, and a little general store selling jams and whatnot. At first glance, there didn't appear to be a ton of seating but if you walk a bit further up the hill, past the grassy patch, there's a good amount of benches and tables. Apple cider donuts review: 4/5? Not as fresh or as warm as I've sampled at other orchards but these had a healthy dusting of cinnamon sugar and a great chew. Downing two of these bad boys was not a great decision for the ride back (plus I had a cheeseburger). Cheeseburger: 4.5/5. Just a bun, patty, cheese, ketchup but listen, this was one of the best cheeseburgers I've had in a while. The bun was perfectly buttered and toasted and there was just the right ratio of meat to bread to condiments. I felt really, really food-drugged after eating this and the donuts. All the burger needed was some pickles. The only thing I didn't love about the layout is the area with the food truck had only three or four tables (no chairs) and faced the row of Porta Potties but I get that space is at a premium. There was also a sizable hill to get from the food truck to the area with tables/benches/donuts, which made walking in cycling shoes an enormous pain, though that's a me-problem.
