We also bought a lot of the fresh produce & food at the farm store and it was all delicious! The lady at the register told us that the corn we bought would be the "best we ever had" and it really was! They also have gluten free ravioli in the freeze, something I've never had before! It was delicious. Since it is fall now, we picked up two pumpkins that are a nice decoration for our porch.

Indian Head Farm is a lovely little place tucked out of the way in Berlin Massachusetts. The farm…read moreis currently being cared for by the sixth and seventh generation of this family. Just pulling in the driveway takes you away from it all, you can see the beautiful flowers and produce in the fields, flags flapping in the breeze. Despite being small, Indian Head Farm has a lot to offer. You can select local plants-perennials, vegetable plants and more on the front porch and in the greenhouse. The best items available here are the berries! In early summer they have strawberries and then come the blueberries, & the black, red, and Golden raspberries-impossible to pick a favorite. You can find the already picked half pints and pints in the store or you can pick your own. The nice thing about Indian Head Farm is that there are no other distractions or amusements besides picking. So if you have children with you and want a much quicker in an out than at some other local farms where you can end up being there all day, this is a great place to go. IHF has their own farm grown vegetables as well as some brought in from local farms. They also offer regional honey, their own jams and jellies, as well as some nuts, dried fruit and frozen fruits & pies. You can also purchase regional cheeses and even birdseed. If you are lucky and arrive when they have their fresh muffins right out of the oven make sure you treat yourself, they are delightful. COVID-19 Note: This is a very small storefront but they have done a great job of making sure everyone is safe. To enter the store there is a handwashing station and mask are required to enter the store. The store is laid out in directional patterns so that everyone can keep their distance. See their website for specifics.

An absolutely incredible CSA!…read more The staff here are incredibly helpful and friendly. They go out of their way, even on busy days, to answer any questions you have about the produce, the farm, or anything else about the area that you want to know. They keep the place looking great all season long (both the "you pick" fields and the indoor store. The most attractive thing about this farm share upon first glance was the great hours. You can go Saturdays from 10-3, and W-F from 1-630PM to pick up your share. These hours are unbeatable compared to other CSAs in Western Mass and they make it easier for busy people with odd work schedules to participate, which I appreciate. I also appreciate that they have THREE farm share sizes to chose from. I strongly recommend getting the largest one, and getting a buddy (or buddies) and sharing it, it is a great deal and a ton of produce! The prices and how everything works is clearly spelled out on their website so you can check it out before you head there. The produce selection is also pretty awesome. We are never bored. My favorite part about farm shares is that it forces you to eat way more vegetables than you probably would otherwise, and it also forces you to be creative with recipes and explore new dishes to cook. The U-Pick component is also a lot of fun, especially if you have kiddos. The current U-Pick selection is quite robust, unlike other farm shares where you just pick a handful of items and you're out. The fresh herbs alone are enough to make the U-pick worth every ounce of sweat required to pick them on a hot summer day. Finally, I must comment on the view. I attached some pictures to make that point. Being at the base of Mt Tom provides beautiful views as you are out in the field picking produce. It definitely makes you stop for a moment, take a deep breath, and smile. I strongly recommend this place!
