Came here for the strawberry festival and it was a really nice farm outing. U-pick quarts were $11 and very much worth it for the sweet and juicy strawberries. They had a tractor that took you up the hill to some newly opened patches, but the line was long. We opted for the patches within close walking distance that still had a lot of strawberries. There's plenty of things to do for both adults and children. A fun obstacle course, giant sandbox, tire swings, and chicken feeding for kids. Hard cider, live music, a couple food carts, a mini craft pop-up and farm market/bakery for adults. There was also a strawberry shortcake and fresh cider donut stand. The pulled pork from the PitchFork food cart was plentiful and affordable. Lots of seating with umbrellas and it never felt super crowded. Parking across the street was easy. Only comment is wayfinding signage for the U-pick could be improved. More festivals like pollinator and cherry will be in the coming weeks, and we'd definitely return. We went to the beach afterwards (~15 mins) to take full advantage of the beautiful day. read more

We've been a few times and although they get very crowded, they handle it very well! The strawberry picking was fun! We took the tractor ride up and the kids loved it. Their ciders were delicious. Lots of parking but I would recommend getting there on the early side for festivals to avoid the long lines! read more

Didn't have time for Apple picking but the farm is gorgeous! Run, don't walk, for the cider donuts. Warm, fluffy, huge and affordable! The upper rack is for half a dozen and you can find a dozen on the second rack. You can find all kinds of baked goods - pie, bread, muffin, cake.... Produce is all the way at the end and they sell fresh eggs for decent price! Don't be discouraged with the long line, they go quickly. If you have young kids, there are chickens and sheep outside. Not sure what they are called but there are four fake horse thingy to ride. read more

Went up to Cider Hill for some apple and flower picking. Really beautiful location and a great farm store to buy items to take home including local produce, jams, syrups, etc. It was packed on a weekend but the staff were friendly and helpful from parking to serving refreshments. I went to Cider Hill Farm this past weekend for some apple picking with my boyfriend and despite it being super windy out it was still a beautiful day to visit. It's about an hour away from Boston and we were hitting the Topsfield fair on the way back home so it worked out great. Although it's later in the season, they still had a whole section of trees ready to be picked. They had a ton of different apples to choose from and most apples had to be picked with the picker (giving you the full experience). We did check out the bins which also had a lot of healthy apples to choose from! For a Saturday they were pretty packed. All the food and beverage lines had a wait, but moved fairly quickly. We ordered a half a dozen of apple cider donuts, mac n cheese, apple crisp, and cold cider - all delicious and great portions! The staff was very kind and knowledgeable. They also had great live music which added to the lively atmosphere. After eating and picking apples we visited their market and got some hard cider wine, a huge pumpkin to carve, and some kettle corn - all for a reasonable price. It looked like they also had a cut flower stand, but I unfortunately didn't notice until our way out. With that being said, it looked like people who did participate had beautiful cut flower bouquets in a nice big mason jar! I would definitely visit again, especially for some wine tasting. read more

If you have a family and kids, this is a must to visit in late summer and early fall. Don't forget to grab fresh hot fluffy apple cider donuts. Service is excellent here, the staff were so friendly and easy going. Hiking uphill, the atmosphere reminded me of apple farms in Washington state. They have the hay ride only on weekends. Dragged my fiance here this weekend. It was okay. There were so many people so it was just very crowded. The food was mid. we got corn on the cob - meh. We got the apple cider donuts and they weren't warm. They did have a selection of pumpkins, but they were all very huge. Went this weekend for sunflower fest. Even though it was hot it was an amazing experience. (Not a lot of shade so be prepared). There was live music and food trucks. Staff was helpful in answering questions and giving advice had to plan the day. Pick your own peaches (only down side you have to climb a huge hill to get to the peach trees). The peach cobbler is to die for! Lots of stuff for the kids to enjoy too. There is tricycle area and chickens and goats to see. The sunflowers were huge and flower cutting garden was a great size with lots of options. It's a great place to spend the day. read more

Tulip field was told online to not be the best this year- they didn't sell tickets for photos because they said it wasn't pretty enough. Either way, I enjoy how established they are. They have a great farm stand/shop and a food truck on site 24/7. However, it takes forever to order so we gave up The tulip picking is nice- 12 tulips per ticket. You get a cute box and scissors and then they wrap them for you. The tulip field was not the biggest but it did its job. Such a nice little farm! The orchards are a bit small so a lot of the good apples were already taken. It's better to visit towards end of sept/very early oct for a larger apple selection. Their food is also pretty good! Their chicken pot pie and mini mac & cheese really hit the spot after a couple hours of apple picking. Also love that they show the making of the cider donuts inside the store. The main downsides are the lines for food & drinks are very long, and there's no actual bathrooms. Just a few portable bathrooms. If they were able to fix those few things, it'd be a near perfect experience. read more

Cute farm about an hour's drive from Boston. We came during one of the two weekends for the blueberry festival and, for the pick-your-own-fruit part, the price was extremely reasonable - $11 for a quart of blueberries which you can fill all the way to the brim, no pay-per-weight. Plus, lots of blueberries on the bushes, so even with the crowds, we were able to get our money's worth. I love their packed calendar of festivals/events during the summer and fall. And their hard cider had so many varieties and hit the spot on a hot day. That said, the food here seems targeted for a captive audience. The lobster roll from the food truck wasn't bad but the amount of lobster was pretty small. Prices were astronomical in their country store. A large watermelon, which goes for $8 bucks at Costco, was a whopping $23. We took home a small jar of their strawberry rhubarb jam because I am a sucker for jam. I also had a not-so-great interaction with the lady running the blueberry shortcake stand, who didn't say hi and was completely robotic and brusque, only to perk up with the dad and little girl behind me. Just a note that on the weekends, be prepared for long lines. We spent a good chunk of time waiting in line. read more

What's nice about this place is the hill and scenic overlook you have. Makes the apple picking experience much more reasonable. We came to the farm around 4 pm on Sunday with two of our kids ages 4 and 6 y o. We were able to get sample of four ciders and loved those. Also, we picked peaches, plums and blueberries but it was in a very fast pace because the picking was closing at 5 pm. There is a tractor going up the hill to get to the gardens. I was able to get some sunflowers as well. The store is open later so we got some stuff from there as well. The chicken coop was great. We will be back. read more

There were so many rows of apple trees of different varieties, and they all tasted so good. The prices for these apples were also very reasonable, and we brought home quite a full bag. There were also so many other activities, it was very much a day trip for us - we also tried apple cider and the apple cider donuts. These were the best cider donuts I've ever had, as they were soft and tasty and so sweet. We got a fresh batch and it was melting in our mouths. My family and I love this farm! If it wasn't almost 50 mins away from where we live, I would be here every other week. Lots of pick your own options throughout the growing season. We absolutely love the PYO peaches here, so many variety to choose from and most of them are so delicious. There is something for everyone here- PYO, hayrides, live music, food truck and a lovely nice vibe to just chill outdoors. Their cider and donuts are delicious! Their on site store has a lot of local produce and definitely a must visit. Lots of parking around too. There is a food truck but it has a small menu and the lines are usually super long, so we haven't tried the food yet. Hopefully next season we will. Pretty solid cider farm to visit to fulfill all your fall New England festivities. I'll say mostly everything is open and activities are popping on Saturdays/Sundays. Weekdays are pretty dead, but there's still fun to be had!! The store has every cool snack you can think of and their bakery items have a WIDE variety....Even stuff for gluten/dairy free/allergy friendly things. They have a fresh baked section, frozen section, fresh produce, cider bar, ect. We were in shock with how much cool stuff they had to browse. We then walked around the farm. Plot is huge and lots to see, (bring walking shoes & something you don't mind getting dirty) chicken coops, orchards, swings... place is really fun if you want to do a fall activity. We were still able to find a parking spot and none of the cider flavors were sold out - we just had to wait in a super long line. I think it was worth it though, the flight was spectacular. We had the BEST time at Cider Hill Farm! My friends and I visited on a Wednesday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. We started with the store and bought a bottle of the Raspberry Hard Cider to share. You're not technically supposed to drink it on the property I think, but we just grabbed a few cups and took it outside to the picnic tables (by the chicken coop). We also stopped by the food truck and bought Chicken Salad Sandwiches, which were very tasty. The hard cider was unbelievably good - make sure you buy some! I highly recommend the raspberry flavor, but I heard the cherry is also fantastic. After this, we looked at the chickens and goats for a while, then headed back into the store to purchase mason jars for flower picking. The jars are only about $13 and then they give you scissors to go pick as many flowers as you can fit - SO beautiful and so much fun! After picking our bouquets, we headed into the store one more time. The selection here is massive and it was hard not to buy everything, but it's also on the pricier side. I purchased more hard cider, some local honey, a candle, and hot sauce. Overall, this place is so much fun - great for both children and adults! read more

This is by far our favorite spot for apple picking and cider donuts. Let's talk about these cider donuts, they are perhaps the best in the area. Light, fluffy (think Krispy Kreme cloud like texture), with a subtle apple flavor and you can also have cinnamon sugar. They are best hot, but can be warmed in the oven if you bring them back home. The donuts are worth the trip alone, but there is much more to see, do and taste here. The You Pick options vary through the seasons, and we were impressed with the pick your own flower option this summer. We have not tried the tulip picking in the spring but plan to do so. Berries are available in the summer, and of course apples this time of year. The store itself has great produce and a nice selection of gourmet food items. A recent addition is the hard apple cider which is tasty and can be purchased in bottles or tastes outside for enjoyment. Plenty to do for kids as well. Don't miss this farm. read more

I loved it all. A must-visit for all ages. The only reason this location can't be 5-stars is there are few porta potty toilets that are very poorly managed. For such a big location with tons of people - there should be legitimate bathroom stalls. read more

Tulip picking was lots of fun. Great variety of tulips. Although, I wish there were more fringed varieties. I love that texture. Bring a digging tool if you plan to plant them with the bulb attached (they encourage you to take the bulb). The less you yank on the stem, the less stressed the plant. Best idea- bring an empty planter and potting soil in the car and plant the bulbs as soon as you leave the field to reduce shock and keep them hydrated. Bring boots for mud if it rained in the last few days. You can pay for a dozen or multiple dozen, but you can also pick more than a dozen and pay $1 per extra flower. They give you a cardboard box to carry your picked tulips in the field. You can keep the box or they can wrap the bundle in plastic and paper like a bouquet. read more
