Although it's right in the heart of the tourist district, The Boat House is, in my opinion, one of the best local deals for happy hour from 4-6 p.m. Their happy hour is generous enough to keep you full until dinner -- if you're even still hungry afterward. The selection is impressively broad, with every item on the "Small Plates" menu offered at half price. Choices range from conch fritters and steak-tip skewers with mushrooms to some of the most delicious lamb chops I've had. The small plates menu alone is worth checking out before you go, and the half-price drinks make the deal even better.

We sat overlooking the boat harbor. Fresh air felt great. Servers worked together. We shared peel and eat shrimp. Fun , fresh and tasty. The yellowfin tuna salad was filling and scrumptious. The wasabi mashed potatoes with the fish of the day were phenomenal. We will try to make those at home. I would come back if we lived closer.

Nice relaxing atmosphere, great service and delicious seafood. I would skip the side salad next time and just stick with the shrimp!

Went again this year and it was just as good but we purchased more small plates. Remember to go between 4-6:30pm because it is half price on the menu. Also certain drinks are as well. We ate conch fritters which were the best, bbq ribs which were tender and yummy, fish bites ( yummy grouper) and the lobster tempera which was delicious but not very filling (about 4 bites). Please note we always order the mushrooms and filet (4 kabobs), which they are renown for and I recommend. They have homemade pickles which come free with the filet kabobs and their bbq ribs only. Delicious. Otherwise $7. See photos for close ups.

Boat House Bar & Grill at Turtle Kraals is my favorite dinner spot in Key West. I drove six hours just to have dinner here, and I'd do it again without hesitation. I ordered the Combo Seafood Platter, and it was outstanding. The fried shrimp, fish, calamari, and rice were all cooked perfectly--crispy, fresh, and full of flavor without being greasy. It was one of the best seafood platters I've had anywhere. We finished the meal with a slice of Key lime pie, and it was the perfect ending. What really makes this place special is the staff. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely made us feel like valued guests. Between the incredible food, laid-back waterfront atmosphere, and exceptional service, Boat House Bar & Grill has become a tradition every time I visit Key West. It's one restaurant I recommend without hesitation, and I'll gladly make the six-hour drive again.

One of the best restaurants in Key West to catch happy hour deals. Seating along the window line is open to the outside providing a means to people-watch and see all the activity happening in the area. This is a busy restaurant most of the day but staff did a great job taking care of our table during our visit. We stopped in during happy hour to sample some of what they have to offer. We chose the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale ($9, HA price $4.50), Beer Battered Shrimp ($15.95, HA price $7.98), Boat House Bites ($13.95, HA price $6.98), Soup of the day - Clam Chowder ($5.48), and the Key Lime Pie ($9.95). The food here was fresh and delicious. My favorite items were the clam chowder and Boat House Bites. The chowder was made in house and they didn't skimp on the clams. The fish used in the boat house bites was Grouper, impressive! Everything we ordered was off the 'small bites' menu except the soup and key lime pie. The total before taxes/tip came to $37.51. I couldn't imagine spending double for the items we ordered, so keep it in the back of your mind that it is expensive to dine here if you're ordering off the main menu or not visiting during happy hour. All-in-all, a great dining experience while staying in the Keys, I would will absolutely stop back in again on my next visit to the area.

Last time I was in KW, I came to the Boathouse twice. This time around I also visited on two different occasions. It is crowded....because I'm there at happy hour. Seems like they might have shortened happy hour this year? I was always able to grab a seat at the bar. They have "small plates" at half price. Believe me they are not big and I would not pay full price for them. But at half price they are great. They're tasty too, One thing I noticed are the bartenders, all were female usually in their 20's and 30's, very friendly too. They move at an incredible pace. Getting their jobs done, while still making small talk with the patrons. The reason I bring this up is that Key West moves at a very slow pace, so this environment is shockingly refreshing. Your beer glass is never empty, the food arrives promptly and the other diners, at least at the bar are friendly. Plenty of TV's if that's your thing. Also can eat outside. They do not take Discover Card. Highly recommend this place.

    Happy, happy hour!

What a great bar/ restaurant! Came for happy twice now despite everything on the area. We've been all over & had great food but I have to say, for bar food, this place excels! Tonight we had the Caprese salad & filet minion skewers w mush rooms. Excellent! Sorry I didn't take pix but I'll be returning next year hopefully! Right on the water, attentive staff, & great food & craft beers on tap). What more can you ask? I apologize for not taking more photos!

My husband and I chose this restaurant for their location on the water, great reviews and the menu had exactly what we were looking for. They have a great Happy Hour until 6:00pm but we were more interested in dinner so we got there at 6:15pm and were seated right away. Our server was very prompt and helpful with suggestions since we had never been to this restaurant. We had the Lobster Tail and Fish 'n Chips, both with the daily vegetable and mashed potatoes.

    Very good key lime pie!

Came here for Happy Hour. Very good! Fish bites Grouper Beer batter shrimp New England chowder.

Wonderful Happy hour food and bev's at the Boat house in Key West with fabulous, attentive, server Patty 4-6pm Monday to Friday. Half prices on all Small plates so you could get 2 for the price of one. We had 2 conch fritters with key lime sauce, 1 baby back ribs, 2 mushroom filet mignon kabobs, and 1 tempura lobster tail with mango salsa for the 3 of us. We had a feast for all of us. There were 5 conch fritters on each small plate, there were 4 good sized mignon tips with 4 mushrooms on each and 3 large meaty baby back ribs on each small plate which also included a salad, sweet pickles and mini tomatoes garnish on each.

I remember the atmosphere was cool. We stopped for a quick dinner after taking a sunset cruise with limited food options, so I was to liquored up to give honest review of the food but it did fill me up also the reason some of it was eaten before I remembered to take a pictures.

    Shrimp scampi was delicious!

I then moved to the other side and waited another 10 minutes to be served (at which point the bartender said "Didn't I just serve you?" Um, no, you most definitely did not.
