Friendly doctor and nurses/medical assistants. Dr. Gellar made me feel understood. He was absent one of my appointments and the staff didn't offer to reschedule the appointment, so I had another doctor and medical assistant administer my skin test. The other doctor and medical assistant duo applied more pressure to my back when administering the skin tests, so my welts and hives were more significant than others. I was legitimately severely allergic to everything according to that day's test (food). I've had a normal diet and have never reacted to eating or touching food before. They're pretty safe w covid protocols. My gripe is that you need to make a separate appointment for your allergy test results. Over a month of visiting, I spent more than $500 after insurance for the consultation, 3 allergy skin tests, and a review of my results. If insurance didn't pay anything, it was about $250 for consultation, then $800 for the three allergy tests, then another $150 for the test results telehealth appointment. I was about to attend my follow up appointment three weeks after my last skin test, but didn't want to be charged again. At other offices I've been to, you get your results same appointment. Another annoying thing is with my dermatographia, I didn't really learn any information since the skin pricks from the allergy tests showed that I'm allergic to everything. Wondering if a blood test would've been more conclusive. read more

I'd like to start with I've never written a review on any of my doctor's before, and this is not for Dr. Geller specifically, rather some (not all) of his staff. I hope they take this into consideration to speak to them and help train them on situation such as these to give their patients better service. For the first 3 years up until today, he'd get 4 stars from me, but hopefully this sinks in as it was quite disappointing. Dr. Geller is great, and I've been going to him for 3 plus years now. He himself is someone I would and want to continue to see, however, his staff (and not all the staff can be blamed, I will pin point two nurses for allergies shots and one back up office manager) are not so great. After being a patient for three years, I unfortunately experienced today some of the worse customer service I have received in quite a awhile, and what is more frustrating is it is one of my doctor's, and it will set me back on my allergy shot routine due to their lack of service. Two weeks ago I filled out a form to have my allergy shot serums sent to another doctor (purely to get my shots at more local location, not to leave Dr. Geller as my primary allergist). On the paper - it clearly states it could take up to two weeks - well it has been. When I filled out the form originally, I was told it would be at the other office early the next week (that should have been last week), then I checked in last week as a I am due for a shot, and it was not shipped yet. I was then told it would be early the week after that (meaning yesterday), but when I called today to check in, it still hadn't been shipped. Calling Dr. Geller's office I was informed "it could take up to two weeks," which I said, "I understand, I read that, it has been two weeks, and your team told me otherwise for the past two weeks." They then explained how busy it has been during the holidays, which I simply replied with "Understand, had this been what you told me two weeks ago or even last week, I would not be upset, but you continued to tell me it was on it's way to be shipped to another office." I was then told, it should be there by early next week, I am now so behind in my shots they will have to take me back a dose, so I'm upset. They also said, they would over night it so I could go in tomorrow "but I would have to foot the bill." Not a great choice of words, but rather rude actually. The end result is they would not ship them over night and take on that cost even though they made this mistake of misinforming me two weeks in a row, and instead said "all I can say is sorry," but at this point, they won't even own up to the fact of how rude their team was (one was raising her voice to me defensively and arguing when I was staying calm and expressing why I was frustrated - better to explain that just get "mad") and how at the end of the day, it was their fault to give me continuous incorrect information and great customer service (you would think for a patient at a doctor's office) would have tried to make something happen so I would not only be happy, but so my continue regiment would not be altered and I would not be missing a shot. I would say this is not only a bummer from a doctor I've gone to for three years, but sad the situation was handled so badly. It didn't feel like they cared for one moment my situation or that I was a patient of that office. It will sadly made me see (if any) other options for offices are out there for a more permanent solution. read more

My family has been going to Geller's office for years! He is a very warm, efficient and brilliant Doctor, who has changed my life since telling me the million things I'm allergic to (thanks Mom and Dad)! Now that I know what foods to stay away from, I have more energy. Also, when I was living in Orange County, Geller recommended me a doctor whose standard of care was as high as Geller's. This was nice because Geller and the OC doctor worked together to make sure that I was being treated perfectly to help reduce my allergies. Now that I'm getting tested again (allergies change, ugh), I am excited to see how my energy level changes again. Let the fun begin! read more

Overall, I'm quite impressed with my experience at Dr. Geller's office. I originally made an appointment because I was considering immunotherapy. From my very first appointment, the thing I liked most about Dr. Geller is that I felt he was in no rush to get me out the door. In plenty of other experiences with doctors, I've felt like they are rushing me, eager to get to their next patient, annoyed with my questions. But Dr. Geller listened intently to what I had to say, asked me very thorough questions to get an idea of my allergies, and very patiently answered my own questions. (In fact, I once apologized for interrupting him with a question, and he replied, "Not at all; this is YOUR time.") I ended up getting two separate scratch tests to get an understanding of the breadth of my allergies. The first test, I experienced an unusually high reaction, and Dr. Geller immediately took the results and had the nurse apply cream and ice to help with the reactivity. He was incredibly sympathetic to the fact that I was very clearly uncomfortable. Speaking of his nurses, during my second test, I was feeling nervous about the intradermals that needed to be done. But the nurse took the time to assuage my discomfort, citing her own experiences with receiving intradermal testing, and asked multiple times during the test if I was feeling okay or in pain. I felt like she genuinely tried to make me more comfortable. In the end, I'm really glad I went because I learned about a host of allergies I wasn't even aware of! My ONLY concern with the office was that I submitted a form containing my credit card information for them to charge me the portion of services for which I was responsible, but on two separate occasions I was told they had no card on file for me but would check on it. I thought that was a little strange (where did my form go???), but frankly, payment got figured out in the end, so I didn't think this was worth giving 4 stars instead of 5. Dr. Geller and his staff are kind and genuinely seem to care. I'd definitely recommend this office to others - give them a try! read more

I went to Dr Geller with a number of problems that doctors had never solved over the past 30 years that I didn't think were related.. I had spent thousands of dollars on tests for food allergies and never got any relief. Dr Geller spoke with me for 5 minutes and said here is what I think is wrong with you and how they were related. We conducted a two day series of skin tests that confirmed his original diagnosis. He was exactly right and I haven't had any problems for years afterword. I developed allergies in my early thirties. But I thought I was just getting sick a lot. Well I went to Dr. Gellar and he was awesome. His staff were really nice and they came in like Star Fleet officers with their iPads. I have a ton of tattoos on my back so they ran out of room for the scratch tests. But when I got the results and found out I had a lot of allergies it explained everything. Like my whole life made sense. I was at first overwhelmed but Gellar explained that everyone has an allergy and he told me how I can still eat the foods I like and not die. I've been subject to plenty of allergy testing and seen my fair share of allergists in the past few years. Dr. Geller is one of the really great ones. He has extensive knowledge and experience (he's been practicing medicine longer than I've been alive!). Plus he really cares about his patients, is very approachable, and takes the time to listen. His staff is equally great- they're friendly, helpful, and efficient. The nurses are very responsive and experienced. Getting allergy shots in the office is a breeze as no appointment or specified day is required, the wait (if there is one) is very short, and there are lots of magazines to flip through in the waiting room. Since I have year round allergies, I decided to finally start getting allergy injections a couple years ago to lower the effects. When I moved to LA I needed to find a new allergist and Dr. Geller was highly recommended to me. He's a great doctor and very kind and friendly. He recommended allergy medication and daily sinus flushes which have helped immensely which is on top of my allergy injections. The office staff and nurses are all very friendly as well and are always there to help. The nurses are great, even if they have to poke me with needles every 2 weeks. :) Also, the office is clean and free allergies which is a plus! read more

I've been seeing Dr Geller and Dr Ho for years now and have recommended many friends to their practice. Both doctors are INCREDIBLE. Part of why I like this practice is because they really take the time to listen and understand what is going on. Dr Geller and Dr Ho are also incredibly knowledgeable. One time I went to an ENT with what I believed was a sinus infection and what the ENT misdiagnosed as a sinus infection. When I finally had the sense to see Dr Geller - he recognized immediately it was in fact allergies. They also saved me when my allergies came back out of the blue after moving out to LA with testing and then shots. Both of the doctors truly care about their patients. If that wasn't enough, the front office staff is just as amazing. They have helped me with countless insurance issues. They are just as knowledgeable and always happy to help! Dr. Geller has been treating my allergies since I was a kid. He is the most knowledgeable physician I have ever had. I went in for allergy treatment and he and his staff helped me resolve my symptoms right away. I have come to rely on him for more than just allergies. I'm not sure if he knows this but he is my primary care doctor. Whenever I have any illness, I call his office first. I trust him and his team to treat anything that comes up for me and if something is out of his scope of practice (broken bones, etc) he refers me to the top specialists in Santa Monica. I think he's been practicing in Santa Monica for about 30 years and he knows just about everyone. He is by far the best doctor I have ever seen! read more

I am not surprised by the 2 star review of this doctor. Dr. Geller was pompous, arrogant and uncaring with me. Most of his advice came straight off a handout that addressed certain allergies in a very general fashion and his personal advice ranged from OK to downright ridiculous. His partner, on the other hand, Dr. Raffi Tachdjian, is outstanding. The office staff, with one exception is very kind and helpful. Going to Dr. Geller was life changing. I have been to a variety of allergists through out the years but even with allergy shots I was still getting bad sinus infections four or five times a year. I would end up having to take antibiotics and steroids several times a year. Dr. Geller changed all that. He discovered not only did I have environmental allergies but I also had food allergies which no one ever tested me before previously. Armed with this new information, avoiding foods I am allergic to and his serum for shots (environmental allergies) I have felt much better than I have in the past. I have not had serious sinus infections nor have I been on an antibiotic or steroids since I have been to see Dr. Geller (over four years.) The added bonus that in the same practice is Dr. Tachdjian who does trigger point injections. The trigger point injections have helped me tremendously when my allergies are really bad due environmental allergies flaring up certain times of the year. What a difference trigger point injections have made in relieving my allergy symptoms when they flare up. This includes sinus headaches, sinus pressure and congestion. The staff is also nice and easy to work with at this office which is hard to find in medical offices in general. Thank goodness for the referral four years ago to both Dr. Geller and Dr. Tachdjian because they both have contributed to changing my quality of life. read more

Dr. Geller is one of my favorite people on the planet. I have been seeing him since the mid nineties when he literally saved my life when I developed adult asthma and allergies. He is incredibly kind, patient, funny and a brilliant doctor to boot. He very sweetly endured me complaining the entire time I had my first set of allergy shots which almost 100% cured my allergies and lasted well over seventeen years. I just finished my second round of allergy shots and again no more endless sneezing, congestion, red eyes and congestion. Allergy Shots Work! His staff are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. I really like Dr. Geller and find his staff to be wonderful. You don't have to make an appointment for routine allergy shots and there is barely any waiting time. I am usually in and out within 15 - 20 minutes - I know this to be true because the parking garage charges $2 if you leave within 15 minutes, and I rarely have to pay for going over 15 minutes. This makes the commitment to get allergy shots easier, because it is quite a commitment. The bottom line - I barely suffered any allergy symptoms this past Spring and Fall is here and I barely know it is hay fever season. This is huge for me given that I love the great outdoors and gardening. read more

Dr. Geller has been my allergist for more than 30 years. More than that, he has provided me with care that goes far beyond the bounds of what one would normally expect of an allergist. In fact, he has performed the role of multi-dimensional medical expert who treated not only my allergies, but also helped me in a much broader range of medical areas. I consider him my primary care physician, although I have another doctor (whom Dr. Geller recommended, I might add) who plays that "official" role.
