I had a delicious, balsamic grilled chicken breast sandwich here. The chicken was very fresh and flavorful, and they served it with housemaid potato chips. Friends ordered a chicken pot, pie, and turkey, salad, and a burger. It is an unassuming place, but has great prices and very tasty food. What I really liked was the range of offerings. They had veggie items, lots of salads and grilled chicken, as well as classic fair. The waitress was OK but not the best. When I'm in the area, I will come back. I love this place. It's not local, but I have family in the area. When I'm visiting my family I always try and talk them into eating here. Their fish and chips are amazing - fresh not frozen.. but they often run out so call and go early!!! Their salads are great, their sandwiches are amazing and their dinner specials outstanding. This place is quite the gem. First time here and I would come again. They had a decent selection on their menu with solid choices. They have outdoor seating as well. The staff was nice and service was quick. I had the cheesesteak and it was excellent. Soooo cheesy. Just look at the pictures!!!! My gosh. My wife had an asparagus, prosciutto and fontina cheese omelet and said it was delicious. I would keep trying something different on the menu each time I go. The salad was good, but it came with rubber chicken. The menu stated grilled chicken,' but there was no indication of grilling. It was microwaved. Just order a salad. Do not add chicken. I've tried this cafe a few times now, but the service really brings the experience down. I've had the same waitress with glasses more than once and she's consistently rude, snappy, and just not friendly at all. During this COVID pandemic the cafe is only open for take out, delivery and limited patio (ally) seating. They have a ton of menu options including chicken, sandwiches, subs and wraps. `There is ample free street parking in the area. The staff there was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the ribs, which came with coleslaw and fries. The food came out very fast, but they were slow at the time. The ribs were ok for coming from a cafe, but don't expect the same quality that you get at a barbecue joint. The coleslaw is good and it is different than the usual coleslaw. the other people in my group got the fried chicken dinner. It looked delicious and they all said that it was delicious. And by the look of their empty plates, I believed them. They only have bottled drinks. Fountain drinks are not available. My dining companion ordered Irish eggs Benedict however; our waitress returned and informed us there was no more corned beef hash so wifey went with the regular standard eggs Benedict. Food was very good potatoes were the cubed the briefly flash fried. All was excellent. Our server Dana, was exceptional. She returned several times to check on us bd was generally very cordial. Ugh. Disaster. We came here for brunch around 10AM. Sat for 20 minutes before someone came and took our drink order. 10:30, no drinks. We got up to tell the server, who brought half of our drinks. Got up a second time to ask for water. Food came and the disaster continued. My son with a gluten allergy who informed the server ordered an omelette with no toast, only to find wheat toast plopped on top. Waitress claimed the other server did it. Our omelettes were overcooked. My wife had to get up because nobody gave her a fork. What a mess! Our business stopped ordering from here when an 11AM lunch order took until 2PM to arrive. Maybe my family should have learned from this. Their site says "In fact, we're so confident that you'll enjoy your dining with us that we provide a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. Ssssssh. This place has some great subs. Yes, I said subs! I got the #4 Classic Italian which is prosciutto, mozzarella, arugula, oil/vinegar and spices (I added onions and tomato's). The rolls are what you want on a sub. Soft inside and a nice crunch on the outside. I like the #3, The Italian as well and the rest of the subs are standard. The owner who was there and working at the time I ordered has been in the Hospitality business since opening the Chatham Sandwich Shop in 1979. It's no secret why the subs are awesome here! Really liked this place. Unfortunately, my server wasn't that friendly at all. It was a busy Sunday and the kitchen got slammed. But she forgot to put my kids grilled cheese it and hardly apologized. I placed a pick up order through UberEats. Upon arriving at the restaurant I told the young lady serving that I had a pick up and she pointed me in the direction of the shelf of pick up orders. I proceed to check my name on the receipt, the man behind the counter asks if I have a pick up to which I say yes. He comes flying out from behind the counter saying he has to check it. I asked check it for what? He asks if it's Uber to which I say yes as he's trying to grab the bag from me. Then says "I have to check it read the sign it's right on front of your eyes." I've been here rather regularly, at least once a month for the last 3 or 4 years and sometimes more often. Service is a bit slow at times. I guess we've already adapted to this and plan accordingly. There were probably several times we didn't go because of time constraints. For out-of-towners, this place ok. This is reasonably priced and portioned place for locals. This town is not cheap. If you want something more reasonably priced, you will have to go to another town. Also my group is not terribly adventurous with our food diversity here. We typically stick with the hamburger items (usually the black bean or the one with the egg in it), short ribs (wednesday special), or salad. We have only done lunches here. If you are looking for a sit down with a bit more reliable service locally, The Grill a few minutes north is not bad. Otherwise, this is one of few places we frequent on a regular basis. Slight cheaper and faster service, Thai Villa has been slowly moving up our list. I haven't experienced any poor attitudes with service. This may have to do with my more contagiously upbeat friends. I suppose there is one that takes a bit longer to warm up to them. Food quality has been decent. We have not yet wanted to return a dish (we never actually return a dish, we just don't return). Just encountered the rudest behavior from a restaurant. Ordered through Door dash at 5:15. Was told my pick up order would be ready in 30 minutes. Showed up at 5:40 (few minutes early) and was rudely told, oh no, 15-20 more minutes. Went back at 6, and was told another 30 minutes it's a big order, then he proceeded to show me the order (which I placed so I know how big it was). The attitude from the owners (?) was unapologetic, and abrasive. Not to mention the last time we ordered from there the salad was missing 3 of the ingredients that were on the menu and they sent the complete wrong sandwich. Tried to stay local and support local, but will gladly take our business elsewhere if I'm going to be met with that tone. read more
