Let me get this out of the way, EXPENSIVE! That being said, the sandwiches we got were very good. I ordered a hard salami on rye with mustard and yellow American cheese. Very tasty but it was not hard salami. It was a soft, fattier salami. I ordered from Steck's specifically because few deli's have hard salami offered. We also ordered a BLT. It was a risky move in my opinion since I make a great one. It had a good amount of bacon but it had Romaine lettuce. A good BLT should have iceberg lettuce. It was about $10.00. Have a roast pork and Swiss cheese on rye with a tomato and mayo salt and pepper every Friday it is a superb sandwich. Their service is quick and efficient. The place is small but it has a great deli feel. read more

A few years into living nearby, I decided to finally give it a try.....I was next door getting nails done and got a craving for a sandwich lol. I ordered a pastrami on rye (bc that's what I saw on TV ‍)with chips and an iced tea. It's a small place so don't expect to bring a crowd here. There are 3 2-person tables so it's not meant for groups. My order was done in just a few minutes and we decided to eat there. First off, the sandwich was a good size! Big enough that I Def could not finish it. Secondly, the ratio of meat cheese and bread was just right for me. It was heated just enough to let the cheese melt and warm up the pastrami. Wherever they got the pastrami ....pretty damn good. Had some bits of fat at the ends which I liked. They are actually made perfect every time- Awesome roll, melted cheese, lots of meat, egg that is cooked just enough to stay together but not overdone, and choice of veggies to add on. The first time they were rude, the second time they were outright mean. Apparently, the people that work there do not know how to treat their customers politely. Stopped in while I was in the area for work. The person who took my order barely spoke English. Fine, I can deal with that if the order is correct. It wasn't. Ordered a simple roast beef on white bread. The roast beef was rare but had zero flavor, the mayo was the worst I have ever tasted, and they forgot my onion. They also did nothing to spread the meat out, so I essentially had a meatball made of roast beef in between 2 slices of soft, soggy bread. Service was fast and the guy at the register was nice, but I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. I'm glad work was comping the bill, and not me. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Maybe if you want Boars Head or other meats sliced and put on bread, you consider this a Deli. Maybe because it looks like it is a deli, you consider this a deli. THIS IS NOT a GOOD DELI and far from even being considered a great deli anywhere. I stopped at the Bridgewater deli decade or longer ago, having moved to the area and thought wow, I will try a Pastrami on Rye with cole slaw and mustard. They handed it to me, looked quizical as well, cold sliced meat on bread...not much effort and very dry and un remarkable results. Now, a new location in Bedminster a decade later, I tried it recently and same crappy sandwich, except even the bread was dried out since it was late afternoon. No steam tray for the pastrami like Zabars, Stage Deli or even Morristown Deli or on Rt 10 in Livingston or Irvings on Rt 10 or finally Eppes Essen! They are from great to excellent. Both, Shop Rite and King's Deli are much better and any Subway is better than Steck's. Locally, in Bedminster, ANNIES blows Steck's away in every way! My advise on STECK"S: "STAY OUT and DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!" Best thing: rest room is clean. read more

I must be the exception to the rule here. Went today around lunch time and ordered a breakfast sandwich. The cold cut case looked appetizing, but the salad case (tuna, egg, potato, macaroni, shrimp, etc.) looked like the salads had seen better days...many days before. Everything had that telltale 'crust' over it. that said, It may have tasted OK...it just did not look appealing. How about a little cling film, people? The teenage staff made it very clear they'd rather be anywhere but working on a Saturday afternoon during the summer. My feeling on this was cemented when we were handed our sandwich, wrapped in paper, not offered a bag or napkins, our money taken and not even a 'thank you'. I can get a sandwich anywhere, but it takes a real professional to deliver less than friendly service. Take note, Stecks. Food is a large part, but so is service with a smile. read more

Love Steck's in general, but really have trouble with the staff at Steck's North. The kids (teenagers?) who run the place over the weekend are quick to shut everything down well before closing time. I've been there well over an hour before closing, only to have them turn people away because they "already wiped down the slicer". Come on! They're not particularly friendly, and generally seem like they're doing whatever they can to hustle everyone out so they can leave for the day. Solid deli with high quality meats and friendly service. Subs were excellent although I prefer the roll to be sliced all the way through creating two separate pieces of bread so that you get all of the ingredients in every bite. The half way sliced roll method is okay but you end up with bites of the sandwich that are just toppings and no meat. Nonetheless Stecks is a deli I will drive out of my way to get to. read more

The worst sandwich I've ever had from a deli. They only put a little bit of mayo and mustard, they didn't have pickles to go with my pastrami sandwich. Food is good but what bothers me about the place is waiting to be served. Multiple people are milling about behind the counter, making sandwiches, slicing meat, etc and you're waiting and waiting for someone to even acknowledge you. (And the place isn't busy.) Sometimes I'll go there with a friend, someone takes her order and then they run off and I'm ignored until another person deigns to take my order. (Although today the girl took both of our orders at the same time.) Serving your customers should be the priority. Busy-work can be done in between taking orders. read more

The Breakfast sandwiches are really great, but everything else is just okay. The smoked salmon sandwich can be good too but you need to figure out what you want on it... Stecks' will just give salmon on dry roll if you don't specify. Seating area exists on high stools, but limited to 3 tables (i think) I Work close by, so been ordering quite often, and experience is pretty consistent. I should add, however, the Pluckemin location is better than Bridgewater (on the circle) read more
