They had the trailer but no dolly and was not told that over the phone when we talk to the customer service at this facility and asked if he could call any other place that had a dolly. He basically told us that we would have to do it ourselves. I am Mexican and the person that I dealt with was Mexican. He was really rude with my wife and we did not appreciate it. He was young probably getting minimum wage. He was not queen cut at all hair was messy so he had no personality towards customers and as far as the dolly we dealt with four other places and nobody had one when we were told once we called their hotline that this place has it this place has it maybe that place has it so it was a waste of our money and gas there needs to be an updated service to the point of where people know what items they have in stock and where they can go to receive that item instead of going to several different places to find it I did rent a trailer at the Fontana U-Haul on foothill and Sierra the young gentleman there was very polite said he was sorry for the other U-Haul employee and he tried very hard. I didn't get his name but I would all I can do to describe him is he was a young male of color, very polite and helpful. I would like to say thank you thank you to him if I knew his name, but we end up having to rent a Dolly at Home Depot, dealing with U-Haul at this moment and time was very frustrating cause our time window on picking up our item was getting ready to close as well as their building to return the items that we were renting, but something has to change in the system on knowledgeability of knowing who has what in stock I don't know whether I would go back again because of the first person that we dealt with, and we dealt with a few, but at least they were upfront and they just told us that they didn't not have the dolly. Only reason I would go back to U-Haul is because of this one person that really tried to help us like I said, young and polite. and again the young man that really helped us was probably getting a minimum wage as well, but had the best personality you could expect from a young man. So to U-Haul I hope you can do something as far as updating your system. I saw your other customers don't go through it, and I would like feedback from customer service if possible.

The employees are helpful, despite the long lines and understandably frustrated patrons. I again, implore you to book ahead, especially if you're moving on a weekend, and double that if it's the end of the month. I returned a truck here a few months ago, and returned the next day to rent another truck. Upon returning the next day, I asked for a receipt for the previous days rental. Oddly, the associate never "checked in" the rental, so the system showed that I still had the truck. But here's the kicker, the truck I "returned" was the only truck available in the size I needed, so they simply gave me the keys back and I was on my way. In other words, it actually worked on my favor. Be nice to these folks. We know you're tired, hungry, possibly dirty (after a long move), and facing that uncertainty of a new home, but just do your best to be kind. Thank you for reading!

The service is consistently great, and their hours make it easy to work around my schedule. The location right off Spruce Street is super convenient and easy to get in and out of, which is a big plus when you're picking up larger equipment. They always have a solid selection of trucks and trailers, and the staff truly knows their products. They're quick to recommend anything extra you might need, which makes the whole process smoother. I usually check in through the U-Haul app, and it's been flawless every time--my reservation is always ready, and I'm in and out in about 30 minutes. I really appreciate how reliable this spot is, and I'll keep coming back whenever I need their services.

He was absolutely rude and not professional at all, but I needed a van to move so I rented the van then got a van and brought it back the same day and upon me going to return the key MIKE was no where to be found I asked for help from the tire shop guys to which their main building is ran by also a bunch of idiots. This man was literally trying to talk to me as he was going across the street to the liquor store when I asked him where was the clerk he said that "I don't fucking know" and instructed me to leave the keys on the counter. I then came back the next day and MIKE was avoiding me and not answering my question on the deposit I put down on the van. He said it'll be in back on my account in 2-3 days and it's been 4 days and not a thing if you expecting money back do not go to this shit show they call a business.Even more bullshit I went for my deposit today on January 28 2022 and again "Mike" wasn't there again! The place was super understaffed lucky I got there before it got too busy. I spoke to his co-manger and he went to check the system for my name to find the reason why my deposit was taking forever. I went on and talked to some of the customers. They went on to tell me that they have been waiting for assistance and nothing being done. I understood the frustration although I understood them being understaffed so I waited for about 20 min and though "what's going on?" I then go back to find the co-manger doing something completely different. I told him what happened and he pretended to know the situation and came up with a different scenario from which I had already explained to him why I was there. He looked lost so I just left. Lucky I was able to get my money back by calling Uhaul on the phone and worked things out. Please do not go save yourself the headache and frustration!

I specifically asked if they have a 17' truck there and was assured it was. When I got there at 8am it was still closed. I called the Uhaul call center and they apologized and had the that location manager call me. He called and told me he was stuck in traffic and will be there in 10mins. He gets there at 8:20 and he tells me that the truck is not here yet, it's on the way. A few minutes later a customer drives in the truck and as she's getting checked out the manager tells her he has to charge her for gas at $5 gallon b/c she brought it back empty that's when she said she would take it and put gas in it making me even more late. The manager seeing my frustration discounts me $10 on the rental and .10¢ a gallon which helped the situation. But when I finally got the truck it was after 9am and it only had 1/4 tank of gas. Now on top of running late I had to fill it as I needed it to pick up a load of store merchandise in LA. I had no problems with the truck, it was clean and drove good. I brought it back the next day at 8:15 (b/c I figured they'd be late again) and sure enough it was still closed. Here's the part that unnerved me the most. While I'm waiting for someone to come and open the store I called Uhaul and was transferred to customer service, The rep tells me that the system shows they don't open until 9am. HUH? I ask, how is it I can reserve a truck for 8am if they don't open until 9am? He says, they would come in early just to rent me a truck. LIE! I told him the hours posted on their door reads open at 8am and their website says they open at 8am. He said they could send a rep to view the posted hours and ask why it conflicts with the system if I want to make a complaint. I told him don't bother, I refuse to use Uhaul for future use. I took a picture of the posted hours and a screenshot of the site that both read they open at 8am. Then to make matters worse, the guy who showed up to open the store, doesn't even work the Uhaul side of the business, he works the Tires2U side. He kept having to call the manager to direct him over the phone how to check in the truck and complete the transaction, the manager never even came in! If you're on a tight schedule DON'T go there, they're unprofessional and don't show up on time and apparently the call center has their back regarding when they open. Posted is the pic on their door and screenshot of the site reflecting that they open at 8am.

I don't know if our experience was the way that it was because of Covid19 or not, but regardless…read morethey were open and considered an essential business so they should have acted like one. When I first booked the truck for our move I wanted the 17' truck and it was not available so the website downgraded my reservation to the 15' truck. That was fine with us until I noticed that they were charging me the same price for the 15' as they wanted to for the 17'. Ok, cause that's real fair. There was no way around it, I even tried booking it on a different device and it still charged me the more expensive price. Oh well, nothing I could do since it was imperative that we rented a truck. When we went to pick up the truck they had a whole check out process that was absolutely ridiculous. You had to take about 72 pictures of yourself and your license, give all kinds of information, sign away the rights to your first born child, you know all kinds of hoops. Like I said, ridiculous. Finally we got the number of the truck and the code to get the keys. The truck was nowhere to be found. After hauling 3 small children around the whole storage facility, and calling the office three times, the guy finally came out to help us and it was discovered that the truck they assigned us was in the possession of another customer already. Great. Another truck was given to us and after an hour and a half (precious time we could have been loading, but was wasted) and what was supposed to be an easy process we finally left with our truck rental. The truck was clean, we had no complaints about that. When we got out to our destination there was a Uhaul rental place right down the street. When we were done unloading we swept out the truck and took it over there to return it. We were told that we were not allowed to return it there because the office we rented it from had an order that the truck could only be returned to that location. I had to call corporate to see if it could be changed and they said unfortunately not. The only thing she could do for us was to change the return time since the location would be closed by the time we drove the 58 miles back to return it. It would have been nice to have been told that when we picked up the truck. Not only did we have to add another 58 miles onto our bill, but I had to follow in our own vehicle and waste gas, time, and mileage so my hubby could get home. It was very disappointing that something that should have been so easy, turned into a whole debacle. Never again.

Because the 19th was MLK day, the rental for one day SHOULD have made the truck due by 9:30 am on the 20th--thus, to get the few more hours I needed, I purchased two days, the day manager a female (approx. 5'4" with long brown pulled back hair (I assume that is her position as she mentioned a male assistant manager). Told me that by paying for two days I had until 7pm on the 20th to return the truck that was fine, so was my experience with the truck itself. When I returned it. I was quoted an additional fee of 41 dollars because the truck was, paraphrasing, "Due at 9:30am"--had I known that their rental period started at 9:30am I would have waited a few minutes to make the transaction until 9:31am. The day manager lied to my face and said, "Our Assistant manager is who you dealt with, and he's pretty good with that stuff," but I had NOT dealt with him (on the further assumption that the very young man cleaning and checking the truck was NOT the assistant manager). The associate said, "How would you like to pay, with the same card?" "I said, NO, in cash and put 41 dollars on the table. "He said, here, keep a twenty," as if that made up for being led into a bait and switch, then directly lied to, on what I can only assume was, at best, an oversight they SHOULD have corrected, OR to have been up front and honest at the beginning, and, at worst, a direct attempt to cheat me by intentionally lying at the point of setting the contract. Instead, I WAS certainly directly lied to, AND had an unnecessary 21 dollars essentially stolen from me--DO NOT TRUST THIS LOCATION!!! *** Dishonesty, direct lies, and a failure to disclose appropriate hours SHOULD be an offense worthy of full discharge, demotion, or at least a reprimand--so IF you see that same day manager--either leave immediately or ask to see the assistant manager. You can even mention this specific Yelp review if necessary because I DON'T mind being the bad guy in this situation. That woman directly lied to me, after we had a specific conversation about the fees, then directly lied about the fact that we had even spoken about them as a SPECIFIC issue, and she WILL lie to you as well--IF there's another 41 bucks in it for them. ***** In addition to that, watch out for another location as well ... HOPEFULLY have a NEW general manager at the location at the extreme dead end of South D Street in San Bernardino; quite a few years ago, the manager was a deeply dishonest thief of a Biker (They certainly aren't all such people, but HE was!) who stole a LOT of my friend's valuable stuff (Who was ALSO associated with the same group of Bikers--so much for loyalty, huh?) and hid it in a unit there to avoid being caught --thus, IF there should a grisled old biker type that is STILL be the general manager there, ask to see him if you need to, then DON'T GO THERE EITHER. ******* After this experience; and also, how they treated my brother as a long time trusted and loyal employee who got done wrong by them over a very minor infraction and thus was demoted for MUCH less cause, PLUS denied a promotion to boot. I would be EXTREMELY wary of U-Haul in general. ********* Honestly, if ANY company is run on such consistent misrepresentations and lies to pull a few extra twenties out of people's pockets whenever they can get away with it --then you'd be better to not trust them at ALL! Particularly if that is how NOT just one location is run, but AT LEAST two or three more! Frankly, you'd be better to not trust them at ALL.
