    Classic Benedict

Early morning breakfast at this place that we've never been to my husband and I decided to try it out. We were the first ones here and were seated quickly. He got an omelette and I got the eggs Benedict which is usually my go to. Food was good as well as the service but didn't realize that a glass of orange juice was about $6! Talk about inflation!!! Don't think we will be going back anytime soon.

Grrrrrrreat waffles! Huge, crispy, fluffy, amazing. Delicious corned beef hash, super crisped and pounded this across the large square plate: the better to splash with Cholula. Nice rye toast. The mimosa choices are fun! I opted for a spiced pear, which arrived with a lovely rim of spiced sugar. Really enjoyable with the HUGE side of crispy wide bacon. The coffee needs some oomph... don't know if I got the light-handed batch, but I was so hoping for strong chewy coffee here. I'm guessing the woman who came out to apologize sweetly for being out of pork chops was the owner. She checked in with every table in a breezy quick way, outside and in. Our waitress was fast and had a great smile. This is a 5 star starter breakfast. Going back for chops!!

I've had a lot of breakfast spots in Naples and most are run of the mill - I expected the same but Bernie's really stood out. Got the biscuits and gravy platter with eggs and home fries and they were all delicious. Friendly (and quick) service too! This will be one of my "go to" spots for sure!

Service was great. You can tell the owner really cares and tries. She was saying hello and good bye to everyone. The food wasn't so special though. It's all something I could have made at home. We wanted a side waffle and it wasn't an option, we had to get a whole entree for an entree price. My Greek burrito had yellow cheese on it. Never had a Greek anything with yellow cheese. The menu said it came with feta and there was none in sight. Coffee and juice were tasty. For a breakfast place with basic food, we paid way too much.

Looking for a local place to grab some brunch on our way home. Bernie's was on our way and looked like it had some great options. Sat ourselves and was waited on by Rosie. She was fabulous and had some great stories. What a life she has lived! I got the Bernie melt. Delicious and packed full of flavor with the corned beef and turkey. Deb had the traditional gyro. Really good and tasty. Everything was cooked to order and fresh so you may have to wait a bit longer but it will be worth it.

Is it good and worth the price?

It was amazing and I didn't consider it over priced at all. You can't go wrong in my opinion.

We decided to go with the shrimp cocktail and mahi tacos on corn tortillas. There are also plenty of gluten free options which is nice. Lots of restaurants only have flour tortillas so it was nice having options. We split both items as we were looking for a little afternoon snack. I also had an Arnold Palmer surfside. My new fav vacay alcoholic beverage. This place is lively and lots of TVs to keep up with your fav sport team. It's also a Seminole bar (go gators). I won't hold it against them. Lol. Also a huge wrap around bar and even outdoor seating if that's your preference.

I was going to order the calamari and 6 oysters. Putting north of $30 for supper. One of the people in the party ordered a smash burger, and I thought, what the heck, I'll order that. Pretty good burger. For those who like to drink under a thatched roof outside, there is a tikki hut. The establishment's motif is all over the map. But let's just stay with the island theme in Naples, FL. Would I go back again? I don't know, I have had this book marked, and I have eaten at another of their establishments, Sonny's. They do not have the same menu. I like that.

Google knew it though and the diner showed up when I asked for 'restaurants near me'. This diner is right off Tamiami Trail, a place where many good restaurants are located. Since we got there early, dining was set up for outside, but the great spring weather makes eating outdoors a fun experience. After entering the restaurant, we ordered our food and sat down. There wasn't a long wait for lunch, we got fed quickly and everything was good. The menu is the same as the restaurant at Founders Square, with salads, bowls, a good variety of handhelds, kids options and lots of sides. They even have rotisserie chicken, prime rib and miso salmon, for when you want a little extra. The Parque Del Lago taco salad and California panini looked interesting, but hubs went with the grilled Mahi sandwich and I decided on the classic burger. We both got an order of those addictive sweet potato fries! Service is friendly, the restaurant is clean and welcoming and we'll definitely be back for another lunch in the future.

From the moment we walked in, the hostesses and manager made us feel welcome and had us seated right away. Our server, Angel, was fantastic. He walked us through the menu, explained how many of the dishes were prepared, and made thoughtful recommendations without ever feeling pushy. We started with the octopus and fresh focaccia with honey. The octopus was exceptional--easily one of the best I've had and on par with dishes I've enjoyed at Michelin-starred and James Beard-recognized restaurants. We also shared the beet and goat cheese salad, followed by the local snapper and the ribeye cap topped with lobster claw and tail in chimichurri. Every dish was beautifully prepared and showcased the quality of the ingredients. The cocktails were well balanced (not overloaded with ice), and the Thyme on Thyme is an easy recommendation if you're looking for something light and refreshing. The wine list paired nicely with the meal as well. Watching the sunset over the water while listening to music drifting across the park made the evening even more memorable. Thanks to Angel and the kitchen for such an outstanding experience. Seventh South has earned a spot on our regular rotation whenever we're in Naples.

Our server Mike, did an excellent job taking care of us. We started off with a couple cocktails. I had an Old Fashioned and my wife had the Not Bogged Down. For dinner I had the Chorizo Encrusted Red Snapper and my wife had one of the specials which was the Tripletail. She said it was the best seafood dish she has ever had. For dessert, we split the special Crème Brûlée topped with diced fruit. We enjoyed the dessert so much, we purchased one for a sweet family of four sitting next to us. Our server Mike and the owner, Barry, helped make that happen and we appreciate it.
