First timer and was so excited that all waffle flavors can be made gluten free. If you're Celiac, like me, they will use a separate waffle maker only used for gluten free waffles. My churro waffle was tasty and not soggy at all. The wait staff was great. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed. Their merch was super cute. I honestly don't know why this spot has such high ratings. The waffles are nothing special, but aren't bad by any means. The chicken for the fried chicken and waffles seems to be some sort of frozen chicken tender they baked. The breakfast platter was mediocre and the toast didn't come with butter or jam. We were there on. Sunday noonish. The place was busy. We might have waited ten-fifteen minutes for a table. There's both outside and indoor tables, we sat indoors. The workers were very good at keeping the tables, chairs and floor clean. We ordered and the it took maybe fifteen-twenty minutes for the food to arrive. We had one plain waffle and one strawberry and whipped cream waffle. The taste was very good, the maple syrup on the table didn't seem so sweet tasting. When you first pull up to Waffle Monkey, do not be worried, you're likely in the right place. The entrance is confusing because it doesn't face the parking lot. You have to walk around the left or right side of the building, all the way around to find it! There is limited seating inside and outdoor seating that wraps around the building. The fans keep the air flowing outside, but it's really toasty in the FL summer heat! We were told it would be a 20 minute wait, so we popped in next door at Wolfmoon to grab a croissant and lemonade. I think 10 minutes passed and we were already being seated! Don't let the estimated wait time intimidate you! They have a great operation with a limited menu and they pump guests in and out really fast! The service was quick. We were greeted by Nelly right away, given an explanation of the menu and our order was put in immediately at the table with their portable POS devices! We opted into the Egg and Bacon waffle but asked for it on the side. The bacon was crispy but also very juicy/packed full of flavor. The waffle was fluffy, crisp on the outside, buttery and nice and thick. The eggs were very bland but they tasted real! Even with hot sauce it really didn't add a lot of flavor to them. I know people are careful about their salt intake but some seasoning would really help. I'm always skeptical with ordering any type of coffee at a brunch place because it never lives up to my standards, however, I got a coffee when I noticed they had an espresso machine inside. I ended up getting the iced coffee with caramel and milk and it was really good. A lot of places can overdo the syrup but this was not too sweet and perfect for a hot day. We did have to ask for butter and syrup to the food runners but they grabbed it right away. It seems like everyone is very supportive of each other and they work well as a team. Our food came out in less than 10 minutes. I was shocked. It's really a fast, good quality waffle joint! I would come back. I'm only docking a star because we had to ask for the kid's coloring sheet and other condiments that seemed like a no brainer to bring out. Went with my husband, sister, and nephew. My husband got the bacon and waffle, he loved it. The bacon wasn't incorporated through out the waffle. My sister got the waffle monkey which had honey coconut and bananas on top. She loved it and so did I! I got a waffle with ham cheese and Parmesan sprinkled on top. The ham was mixed in the batter.
