I just love Berry and Sweeney Pharmacy. They have been in the community for many years and when you walk in everyone knows your name. Its always like a family reunion when you go in there. Barry & Sweeney I love this pharmacy they have been there for me since day one. They are a truly special place I've never been out of my medications thanks to there reliability one time I thought for sure I would not get my medication and I was worried because I'm diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension so I rely on these pills. It was late all of a sudden I hear a knock on the door mind you I live all the way in Fontana, California Barry &Sweeney's in Pasadena when I open the door, they had personally delivered my medication. The manufacturer of the medication I was seeking said that Barry and Sweeney had an agreement to carry the meds. B& S said initially that they would get this med, then said no they would not get the medicine. I wasted time and goodwill on their not telling the truth initially. read more

Do not go here! The pharmacist is incredibly rude and condescending (she called me sweetie!) I was having a medication transferred here from another pharmacy and the pharmacist was insistent that I did not have prior authorization from my insurance company even though I was holding the approved prior authorization in my hand as I spoke to the pharmacist. On top of all of this, she wouldn't let me get a single word in. She told me that my prior authorization was "outdated" as it was approved on 12/19/2023 (today is 1/24/2024) but if she had let me explain she would know that the prior authorization is approved from 12/29/23 to 8/29/2024. She also told me that my primary care physician had canceled the prescription but when I called my PCP's office they had no record of canceling the medication. She was one of the rudest people I have ever spoken to and I will never return to this pharmacy. I recommend that if you want to be spoken to as a human and not like an animal with a tail that you do not go here. read more

I'm sure the owners are raking in plenty of money here because I see at least 10 employees in the back. Absolute incompetence. Verified with two of the stooges there that my meds would be delivered by the end of Tues. Tuesday comes and goes; Don't hear from them. Called in and ask what happened. Now, they say it'll be delivered by the end of Wed. Wed comes and goes; Don't hear from them yet again. A particular careless moron, Elizabeth, confirms that she receives my emails, as I've emailed her three separate times, yet she hasn't responded to one. I bet you're thinking, well, she probably called you instead...NOPE! Now it's Thursday and I'm out of meds, so I call them and these idiots say that they've been OUT OF THE MEDICATION! Zero stars, do not come here! I was hoping to get my medications here after my doctor visit but this place is a joke. Once you enter you see girls on their cell phones and chatting with each other and no one sees you. They even make racist jokes while customers are just waiting, are you serious? I've had good days (very rarely!) and I've had bad days. I order refills, but I've never received them the same day. Sometimes, 2 to 3 days later and a few times "You're not ready for any refills." By the time they would get to it, it will in fact be on time. I have also seen some of them sitting at the counter, eating their lunch. The phone will ring and they would either just sit there and let it ring, talking to one another or get up and walk right passed the phone. Even the ones who went into the back for a couple of minutes will come to the front, ignoring the phone ring. What is wrong with these people!? read more

No they are on time with my medication. At first I had to call for a few months to ask them when they were going to fill my medication, but this month they actually came a little early without me having to call and remind them I was almost out. So I am happy with their service now. read more

This is my current pharmacy of choice. They're in the hood, and so am I. In fact, they're right behind Louisiana Fried Chicken. What separates this joint from Martin's Drugs, is that Berry & Sweeney have a soft serve ice cream machine! Yup, you heard right. It takes one back to the old school days of fountain sodas, ice cream cones, that you could get at a pharmacy. You can't get fountain sodas here, but junk food, along with soft serve is there for the taking. Pay before you take. My entire family gets their medications from Berry & Sweeney now. Yes, it's in the 'hood, as I mentioned, so try to not look scared while walking over here. They also offer drop off services, so you can leave your prescription, and pick it up within a few hours, etc... They're a great bunch. read more

The Berry & Sweeney Pharmacy located at 1377 North Fair Oaks Avenue Pasadena, CA 91103 has been declining in service and quality, we been clients of this pharmacy for over 8 years and the recent changes in management has yeld disastrous to the quality of customer service and over all quality of the efficiancy of the pharmacy, the new hirees do not have any costumer service edicate, when one arrives to the line costumers are not acknowledge, many times they are either short staff or the staff is just MIA, and or talking with eachother, I caught a couple of them on their phones and not acknowleging the customers, the place is not well kept in cleaniness and getting to the phone forget it, I have been told that no one is willing to answer the phone calls, no one wants to take responsabilty when the phone is finally answer and a refill is order and promise to delvier later on in the day and three days later no show, so the whole process repeats calling is a nightmare, recently I been trying to reach them for the past three days and no answer as I am typing this review I been on the phone trying to reach them for over 20 mininustes since I do not want to walk over(since I do not have a car a the moment), and only to find out that my son's Doctor has not sent the Rx, but I have to make that walk since my son is so very low on his Medication and is a must, so I am actually getting ready to walk over to the pharmacy, I was hoping to reach them before I have to walk to them but after three days of trying to reach them fat chance that they will answer their phones.Now I am going to make the trip and just hoping that they do have the Rx and I don't make the trip only to find out that my Dr. has not set anything and I will have to wait until Monday. This will be my last trip to this Pharmacy will be changing my whole family to my local CVS. I try to give Berry & Sweeney Pharmacy a chance. I voiced out these concerns with them directly before hoping that they will go back to their old "good neighborhood quality service" but they do not seem to care for the customer's oppinioin so after giving them a whole year to resolve these issues I am done and ready to move on to a more reliable pharmacy like CVS. read more

I have been dealing with this pharmacy for 6 years and like them SO much that I still deal with them after having moved about 15miles away. They prepare all my meds -- which are constantly changing or running out or being transferred -- and mail it to me. What is amazing id they ALWAYS do it right and I cannot remember them having made a mistake. It is so nice to go somewhere other than the big chains which are like conveyor belts, as this one is one of the last neighborhood pharmacies that is really hoppin and helpful. They really care about their clients. It is awesome (for a pharmacy!) If you have ANY PROBLEMS EVER WHATSOEVER THERE ASK FOR 'GILBERT' ,AND TELL HIM TOM REES SENT YOU. You will be treated lke a king! This pharmacy deserves a negative big fat 0. They never answer phone calls nor do they retun your calls when you at least expect them to do so. When you show up to pick your medications, they are never ready even when you call them in 3 days before. I don't know who is running this place but they should be fired. But the pharmacy has gone down in quality ever since the 2 older men sold the pharmacy to new owners. They earned my business because of how quick they are able to provide me with my prescriptions. A female employee that works at this business was very rude and demanding out side the parking lot. She demanded me to move my car because I pulled over the "no parking" zone and she threatened me by saying she would call a tow truck if I didn't move immediately. Little did you know, I was there for less than a minute and my grandmother was just gathering her things so she could pick up her meds. I didn't want her to walk much bc there was no parking near entrance. This lady was hispanic/ late 40's/black hair/ drove a black car. They give great lip service to things, but have bad follow through. They say they will call back, follow up etc then don't. Also, very often, I call and the phone rings then hangs up (5 times in a 6 min period for instance). It's not my phone, because I call from both a landline and a cell phone. read more

I find it unfortunate to have to write negative things about this Pharmacy. The counter personnel are delightful and I've dealt with them for years, This is also the first time I've ever written an internet review, The pharmacy offered to 'split' a prescription. When I returned to pick up the remainder of my prescription it was at a higher price. I asked to speak with the pharmacist who proceeded to lecture me about economics and something about a loaf of bread. I simply asked him why I wasn't informed of the higher price when I was offered the service. He told me that most customers would expect and assume a higher price. Uh not me...it should be mentioned. He refused to honor the original price and turned and walked away. Customer service is not his strength. Take your business elsewhere. The prices are high. They are INCREDIBLY slow! My wife is bi-polar and I have congestive heart failure so it's hard for us to pick the meds up. For one of her psych meds it took them 4 DAYS to get it to us! As it was, my wife went through visual and hearing hallucinations before they got it to us. I called them day after day and it was one excuse after another!
