I purchased a vehicle at another dealership and was told it was in warranty so I brought my vehicle in for a diagnostic and I was charged a fee no big deal but they did not address all of the issues. I asked for the issues to be addressed that I had reported and then they said it would be another diagnostic fee. How is it my fault that the issues weren't handled the first time. Then I filed a complaint in which they decided to look at the other issue without charging the diagnostic fee I said I would think about it. During that conversation the operations director stated if it's not covered under warranty we will charge you and I will be more than happy to take your money....seriously?!?!?! I few days later he called back and said I will refund you the diagnostic fee but you can't bring your vehicle back to any of our dealerships when I asked why he said I don't have to give you a reason. Now granted I didn't buy the car there but you have squashed any future business from myself and any of my family and we have 5 people in our family that drive. Nice you reap what you sow. Communication across the team is AWFUL. I brought my Jeep in due to a Warranty issue and each time sense it's gone down hill. No one seems to know what's going on. I myself have been in Sales for almost 10 years and if this was my team I would have words to say, because quite frankly it's unnaceptable. The service team worked on my Jeep for the day-I picked it up and all my personal belongings were thrown around-when I left my Jeep I thought just maybe I could trust that all my personal belongings under my blanket would be in safe keepings-I understand if things need to be moved slightly but to leave my Jeep the way it was left, absolutely ridiculous. Again was going to let it slide and not make a big deal because mistakes happen. Now for the cherry on top: I took my Jeep through a car wash a few days after my Jeep was in the shop and come to find our there was water leaking through the liftgate...that's never happened before. The liftgate is what the service department worked on; The team also left dirt all over my Jeep, never bothered to wipe anything down. It's pathetic if you ask me. I am always willing to leave positive reviews and truthfully, being in customer service and sales for so long, I am pretty lenient and understanding when it comes to most things. At this point I'm completely fed up with this Dealership. I have never liked working with Dealerships to begin with, the customer service is simply put a 1/10. Go Elsewhere. I stopped into Bertera because they posted some pictures of the new Jeep pickup truck and I wanted to see the proportions up close. I told them right when I walked in that I am in the market for a used vehicle and my sales person, Michael, didn't mention a new car once. Every other dealer would say yes and continue to try and show me new vehicles. It's refreshing when you know the person on the other side of the desk is actually listening and not treating you like a stack of cash. I'd recommend Bertera to all my friends and family. The WORST customer service I have EVER experienced in my entire life. Bought a Beast Edition Jeep that was over 60k and had issues with the parts the dealership provided. All parts were junk and rusting out (within 1.5 years always garaged with under 15k miles). They left me hanging for OVER two months, never getting back to me as promised, all while saying they needed to find the receipts (that they bought the after market parts for) so that I could put a warranty claim with the makers of those parts. Finally, after I refused to be passed off again, I finally was able to speak to the General Manager, John Lewis. I have never dealt with a more rude and arrogant person in my life. It wasn't like he said, I'm sorry we can't find the receipts. He said this to me word for word "I don't have the receipts we're not covering anything, so you're done!" Literally was his words. This was the first time I EVER spoke to him. The biggest A hole I have ever had to deal with. HOW IS THIS GUY THE GENERAL MANAGER??? PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME???? STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!!! I bought a 2015 Fiat 500X here and LOVED the car. However, 2 years later I need to get rid of the car payment to help my daughter pay for college. I called Bertera and they said, sure bring it down and we'll give you a fair market value offer. I stated repeatedly that I wasn't interested in a low ball offer and gave them the range I found using KBB. They insisted they would inspect the car and give me a fair offer. Then they called me every day to see when I was coming. I called again to be sure they were available to look at the car, etc... and I drove an hour to get the appraisal. When I got there a woman at the desk went and talked to a salesman. She came back and said they would do about $10K for the car. This is a laughable offer WAY under the low end of the KBB value. The guy never even looked at the car. I asked the woman to bring the sales guy to me. She went and came back with a piece of paper stating the offer in 2 sentences. The cowardly sales dude couldn't even talk to me face to face with his pathetic offer. So they begged me to drive an hour to evaluate my car (which is in excellent condition), never even looked at the car, and gave me a pathetic offer without ever even looking at me or my car. This place should be avoided at all costs. This is the definition of sleaze. I would not trust them at all going forward and I'll encourage others to avoid these losers. Brought in my 2010 Challenger to replace a couple of cheap A/C actuators that were making clicking noises, and a front bumper lip/underbody splash shield. Initially they wanted to charge me over $1,200 for the whole job, but after I told them that it was a bit excessive, they gave me a discount. The price was still too high in my opinion (I had done my research on part costs, for example, you can get the actuators for less than $20 apiece), but I agreed to it, nevertheless. The car was at the shop for an entire week, apparently waiting for the front lip to arrive. No communication, either. We had to call to know the status of the car. They did, however, send me an e-mail right away trying to sell me a $250/month service plan... Less than 24 hours after I got the car, the clicking noise was back. Called the service dept. to let them know, and they set another appointment. Now they say it's another actuator even though the clicking is coming from the same place (I've driven that car with that clicking noise for a couple of years) and they want to charge me over $400 to replace that single so-called "bad" $20 actuator. This is exactly why people distrust auto service centers. Needless to say, I'm never coming back here... read more

My Jeep broke down in Western MA. I called Bertera Jeep to have my car towed for service. I understand that my car did not have an appointment, but it was the closest Jeep dealership. Denise initially helped me, but as the week progressed there was no communication or updates. I always had to call shop. They did not call me. I had to rent a car so I was hopeful that they would get my car back to me in a timely manner. I had wanted to get my car repaired, some collision work, and detailing. I was clear with Denise what I needed done both in writing and on the phone. By Thursday, I still had no diagnostic or updates. I asked to speak with David Repair Service Manager. While speaking with David, he put the phone on speakerphone with Denise in the room. She denied that she had stated that she would coordinate the collision work with their shop. She stated she had called me back when she has not done so. David appeared to enjoy stirring the pot and creating further tension. David agreed to call me daily. On Friday, he called me and told me my car had not been diagnosed and he would have diagnostic information by Monday and call me around 10am. I called David around 10am and left a message. By 1:30pm no phone call returned. After calling service two times the first time being placed on hold by Kyle for 15 minutes and second time placed on hold by Denise for 10 minutes with no answer, I called John the General Manager who promised to call me back in 10 minutes. He did not call me back. Instead a very irate David called me telling me, "You obviously didn't listen I told you I would call you at 2:30pm and I have four minutes. I will fix your car but don't ever bring it back here." What poor customer service ! I called back John who tells me, "I put you in front of one of our customers because you have been so persistent. You didn't even buy the car here." This has been the absolute worst customer service team that I have experienced. Clearly the poor management is not just in the service department but across the whole administrative level. The fact that they find the expectation that I call daily to check on my car and its repairs persistent and they feel free to tell me, "We will repair your car but don't ever bring it back," acceptable as a Jeep dealer evidence that they don't value their customers or place much importance on a high level of customer service. Update on 4/23/2019 I called today and checked in with David the Service Manager. I was told that my new transmission was in, but technician could not install until Thursday. David asked me about my Yelp review and if I was going to take it down. I explained that I would see after the remainder of my service experience with Bertera. David states that he looked at the computer calls and I never waited close to 15 minutes, and he has the records. I reminded David that customer service is what is important after buying an expensive top line Jeep. David told me he has worked with Presidents and Prime Ministers in Canada when he worked for Mercedes. David is basically a bully. He wants to bully you into whet he wants and believes regarding your customer service experience. I told David I was surprised that he can't move forward and just show good customer service. I hold by my statement that David needs to stop arguing and bullying me and just show good customer service. I had to close the conversation given David's more interested in me changing my review than providing excellent customer service. He even stated he reviewed all of my 77 Yelp posts and doesn't know how someone would have the time to write 77 reviews. I continue to be surprised that a simple call to Bertera to check on the status of my car results in David trying to bully me into changing my review. If I were David, I wouldn't have tried to pick a fight, but rather I would have let it be shown that he could provide excellent customer service. 04/23/2019 I called and spoke to John, General Manager, John assured me that he would be in charge of ensuring that my car was repaired to my satisfaction like new and that David would not communicate with me again. John would be my point person. He would notify me when the new transmission work was completed and arrange for car to go over to the collision departmen 04/302019 John, General Manager, never called me or updated me even once, but David did email me and let me know my car was ready. He apologized for any miscommunications, and he ensured me that my car would be over at the collision department today. I have respect for David for reaching out and ensuring my car transmission was repaired. He followed through and made sure my car was delivered to collision. Its hard to have bought an expensive car and to have the transmission go in 18 months. Fingers crossed that now my vehicle will have a long life. read more

Do not buy here!! I was completely suckered into their "free tires for life" program and could not possibly be more disgusted and disappointed in this dealership. They have this program where supposedly if you have all of your servicing done by them they will give you free tires for life. Let me warn you that their servicing prices are so ludicrous as to border on criminal. In any case, I was enough of a sucker to go through this process of getting screwed on service charges with the hopes of getting free tires. When I finally got to the point of qualifying with my bald tires for replacement ones, they took nearly 3 months to get back to me with a response as to whether or not their supposed under-insurer would cover the tires. After finally jumping through a ridiculous number of hurdles, The supposing free tires were going to cost me $213 each PLUS mounting, balancing and disposal fees. Meanwhile, an honest mechanic near my home quoted me $180 each to put new tires on. So let me get this straight, you massively overpay for service charges only to get so-called free tires that cost you more than you would pay anywhere else. Sounds like a great deal to me huh??? However when I arrived, there were no less than fifteen sales men sitting idle. They demanded all of my information; phone number, driver's license, etc, before the salesman would even talk to me. They offered me $1200 less than Blue Book on my trade in yet asked $4,000 over Blue Book on their vehicle, and told me that Kelly Blue Book isn't always accurate. My daughter bought a 2014 Nissan Sentra at Bertera. Just a "few" issues: 1. Who the hell, in 2016 sells a car with nearly an empty tank of gas? I've bought or leased about 10 cars for my family in the past ten years and this was the FIRST time I've ever had a car delivered with nearly an empty tank of gas. I guess the fact that my daughter is 22 and didn't think to check before driving away makes that ok. 2. Who sells a used vehicle with ONE set of keys, in this case an electronic fob that costs in the vicinity of $600 to program a second one? 3. Who sells a car that requires a card to run the navigation, Bluetooth and other electronic systems WITHOUT the card? 4. Who delivers a car without going through the systems and showing how they work, especially to a 22 year old female? She went in to have the car delivered and it was basically "here's your keys, see you later." What a joke. I've leased/purchased Toyota's, Honda's, Nissan's and more recently a Jeep dealer and have NEVER seen such a half-assed process. I guarantee you that the reviews on this page are ACCURATE. Wow, I just had the worst experience with this dealership I can't even imagine having with any company ever. I decided to come here and add a review for yelp and then noticed of course that they have two stars which I should have research prior to trying to deal with these people,. My biggest issues are that they offered a deal on a car that was not the best deal in the market and when I cross reference them with another dealership I was able to find a deal that was two grand better I did prefer the color option that this establishment had so I was considering paying the difference anyway but did inform them of the price difference. They immediately decided to bail on me as a customer assuming that I would not buy the car for the price difference due to color however my intent was to buy the car! But due to their incredibly rude behavior and dismissiveness they lost the sale and will never see me back in their building again as a customer customer. I bought a 2017 Jeep last November and was basically pleased. But their service SUCKS. I brought the car in for an oil change in April and was quoted a 30 minute wait time. I waited over an hour. Despite that service, I brought it back this weekend. i told the clerk I was in a hurry and he told me he would have me out in 35 minutes. He said he would get me when the car was ready. After waiting an hour and 20 minutes, I walked to the counter and asked if the car was ready. They said it was just ready. I told them that the wait was unacceptable and just brushed me off. These guys epitomize what is wrong with car dealers and why we hate them so much. I went in to buy a car, and I did in fact purchase a car, but the process was far from smooth and all of the things that were wrong with the transaction had everything to do with crises they themselves created and a complete lack of follow through. I should have known, because the car that I actually purchased had already been sold to someone else. Whoever that person was got shafted in this sale. The only thing I'm certain of is that I paid more for the car than the guy that purchased it before me. Here are 3 examples of where Bertera failed me on my transaction with them; 1. Smelled oil when test driving the car. I'm a grown up and I know that used german cars sometimes leak oil. Asked him to look into it. Assured me that he would. Didn't do it. This was the most understandable of the 'overlooks' that you would expect a used car sales operation to conveniently forget. I'm sure he was afraid that they'd find something and I'd bail on the deal. Postscript - car doesn't leak or burn oil according to my mechanic - but still, pretty weak performance. They've also guaranteed that I'll never use their service department to fix any problem with the car (because they are lying sleazebags at worst, woefully dishonest at best) 2. I purchased the car - signed the papers, did the financing, etc. Told them I couldn't pick it up until the weekend. They got agitated by this and offered to deliver the car to my house. I asked them if they could flat bed the car to my house if they were anxious to get it off the lot (for reasons I don't understand, but man, they were adamant about me taking it asap.) Long story short - "we don't have a flatbed" - which seemed a little strange (seemed like BS) for a dealership with service bays, but whatever. Sales rep says that he'll deliver it to my house (while I'm out of town). Not only did he not deliver the car on the day as promised, he never called to say that he wasn't going to deliver it on the date / time he said he would. So, I left an adult at my house waiting for my car to be delivered and it never arrived. At this point, I'm certain that I'm dealing with, at best, people who cannot keep their word - at worst, lying sleazebags.... but I'm a pretty positive person, so I put this out of my mind. Plus, I'm on a business trip, so I don't need the car anyway. 3. I return from my trip and go in to pick up my car. My salesman, the one who sold me the car, is there, but passes me off to another sales rep because "he's busy" with another customer. Nice. The other guy gives me the keys. I leave. I get home. I have no registration, and there's no inspection sticker on the car. I call and ask about the inspection sticker. I'm told "you should have gotten a voucher for that". I'm guessing this is with the registration that I don't have. I called the dealership and my sales rep says "I will look into this and if I don't call you back by end of day today, I will call you back tomorrow. "Tomorrow" in this case was yesterday.... meaning, nobody called back. (sleazy). I solve the registration and inspection problem myself after some quality time with RMV. So, the hurried, then botched delivery and the lack of inspection sticker (their excuse - the machine was broken.... really, for a whole week? At a car dealership? Sounds like somebody isn't telling the absolute truth here) were all problems of their own causing. It doesn't have to be this bad. All of the problems, miscommunications, and snafus that occurred were the fault of the dealership and their inability to set expectations properly, and utter and complete follow through on even one thing. If you go to this dealership, you will see all kinds of testimonials about how wonderful this dealership is hanging from the walls from their feedback forms. I'm betting I'm not ever going to get one of those feedback forms - b/c if I did, I would write what you've just read. Also, all of the positive feedback forms seem to indicate that "Ivan" is the guy you want since they're all referring to him. If you are purchasing a vehicle from these guys, your best approach is to view it like a private sale - where you get nothing in terms of customer service - than like a proper dealership buy where you might expect things like courtesy and service. Honesty, I don't expect. But lying about stuff you made up, being unapologetic, and not being a person who keeps promises that were made to a customer is the weakest possible excuse for a business. Incredibly poor experience. The dealership sold me a car that they didn't yet have title to, so I spent nearly 2 weeks (so far - I still don't have the car I actualy bought yet) waiting for them to clear the title with the RMV. I had brought my car in for service after my 1998 Chrysler Sebring started having engine issues. The service tech explained that the cost to fix the problem would likely exceed the value of the car by several thousand dollars. They then handed me over to Andrew, who made it seem like they only had one car on the entire lot that I could possibly afford, and it was basically my only option at that point. So I "bought" a 2008 Dodge Caliber (in theory at least - I still haven't taken delivery, mind you). Right before they brought me in to speak with the finance guy there, I looked up the value of the '07 Caliber on edmunds, and discovered that they were trying to overcharge me by roughly $1,000. Their response was that the internet sites generally don't know what they're talking about for cars under $15k. Nonetheless, it was still presented as my only option, so I went in to talk to the finance guy to see if he would be more reasonable. He flatly refused to lower the price. He also insisted that the interest rate he was quoting me was the best out there. When I told him we didn't have a deal at the terms that he quoted to me, all of a sudden he was magically able to lower the interest rate by 0.59%. Real honest folks they've got there... These guys are amazingly horrible at after-the-sale service. It's been nearly two weeks since the "sale", and it's like pulling teeth to have them keep you in the loop. Suffice it to say that whenever (if ever...) they actually have my car ready to be picked up, that'll likely be the last time I ever set foot on that (on any other Bertera dealership) ever again. read more

I had an overall good experience with this dealership, despite some of the other negative comments posted. Did the transaction take MUCH longer than it should have? Yes. Did they seem a but disorganized and keep me there longer than I had to be? Yes. However, the transaction was relatively transparent (advice to buyer is do your homework before you walk in) - I got a very good price and a fantastic rate. However, I was not too pleased when I picked up the car and was not given a full tank of gas. When I asked I was told they only put in $40. Really? After spending tens of thousands of dollars on a car and you can throw the extra $20 of gas in? I will say the Financing department was great and very fast! read more

This dealership is the worst! We bought our Grand Cherokee from here a year ago. We've been traveling back here, over an hour each way, for oil changes to participate in their 'Tires for Life' program. At today's appointment I'm told that they are changing the programs policies and it's required to get the specific mileage service in addition to oil changes. My normal $80 oil change today would have been over $1500 for the 60k mile appointment. They said there is no Grandfather clause for existing customers who were participating in the program! I could get 4 new tires for less than that! Do not get service here - and do not participate in any of their ridiculous gimmicks! We will be finding else where to get our oil changes now (and cheaper too!) read more

If you feel your bank account has too much money in it, go here and they will most definitely accommodate lowering your balance, whether the service is needed or not. I bought my last 8 vehicles there and my last is just that, my LAST. Whatever happened about 2 years ago, their service sucks on the side of being scammers. The mechanics are nothing more than salesmen. No matter how good of condition and maintained your car is, an oil change is never just an oil change. Usually it's always brakes AND they always need rotor: even if your current rotors only have less than 15k highway miles on it. Or, having to replace all my lug nuts because they are stripped at an additional $300 even though Bertera was the only ones who rotated my tires since I bought it from them. I can go on but why bother. After 8 cars I bought my last one from them and serviced my last car with them.
