There are plenty of RV parks, but hotels, restaurants and grocery stores are few and far between. Our room at the Marina Inn and Suites was charming and spacious overlooking a field that was utilized as a lacrosse field from 8 am till 8 pm. Towels and hot water were all more than adequate; king bed was comfortable. Down on the first floor is the ice machine and a washer/dryer area. Dryer came in handy since it was raining most of the weekend of our stay. Staff are on duty until 8 pm most days. The building is close to the water and has adequate parking for this building. Out back was a marina and a restaurant which unfortunately had closed due to COVID last year. It was open for two dates, one of which we were staying at the inn and one at the end of the month. The bad news was there was no table availability. We were welcome to check out the bar and sit in the adirondack chairs but weather being what it was, we opted for other entertainment. The restored building next door was now a YMCA which was open for occupants of the Inn. We did not utilize this because unless you walk about a bit, you won't know it's the Y. In this area of buildings that have been restored, is another surprise - a pizza shop. Another review to come. If I go back to Lake Ontario, I am sure that the Inn and Suites will be on our list of places to see and stay at again.

I usually have a hard time sleeping through hotel noises (other visitors, fans turning on and off, elevators, etc...), but none of these things existed. The bed was perfectly comfortable, and the room was stocked with whatever we might need. The decor is dated, but with such a reasonable price (compared to other options) and so much else going for the inn, we'll happily accept some well used furniture and carpets. After speaking with another quest they also had no way to lock their room. Then Bonnie stated the wash cloths could not be used to remove make up use only wipes only. (OK) Next day we stated the room did not have to be re-tided. When coming back the door was wide open.( Forgot to mention the shades are old and slightly torn. I had trouble keeping them up, so I tied the blind string together for privacy.) She txt me at dinner stating she entered the room, and I ripped the blinds from the frames and would be charged on my credit card!!!!!! That issue was resolved when the strings were untied. No apology was given. What a night mare. We left as soon as we could the next day before breakfast was served and went to a restaurant to eat instead of staying for breakfast. Would never again return to this place. Very strange. This is my first negative review every given for a B & B.

When we got there I didn't know what to expect. I am not going to lie but when we got their and saw the house that we reserved it really took us sometime to let this place grow on us. We had reserved a three bedroom suite. Who knew it was literally right next to their office. The three bedroom suite was literally a house. It had two bedrooms upstairs with a very small bathroom. I fit in the shower but it was tight. Each room had a box a/c. Downstairs had another bedroom, modest size dining room, living room and a large bathroom. We had a private deck with BBQ grill which included deck furniture. The place itself was very clean and there was no musky smell. It turned out to be a pretty nice place to stay.

This is why i picked it, that and everything else was picked over. This motel was very easy to find and walking distance from everything in the bay. I was nervous about how dirty it might look or feel, but it wasn't that bad. it does need a make over on the inside of the standard rooms. i peaked in the rooms that have sliding doors and they seemed nicer. the standard rooms need new carpets and bedding. our room had stains on the carpet. the bathrooms were decent with one small sink with of course a toilet and normal size tub/shower. The decor also needs to be updated, but again this is a decent place if you just need a place to crash on a budget. They didn't seem to have enough outlets, no clock, enough lighting, cable, and to lock the door you have a key. There are two levels to the motel on either side of the parking lot and the office is in the front. the parking lot could actually get quite full if everyone is in so then its hard to menuver with the parking lot being on a slanted ground. great views of the Boldt castle across the water. The pool is decent that is 4 feet with an all around deck and lounge chairs. i didn't get to experience this as it was a little colder weather. there is also a dock for people who may have boats and can pull right up to the motel. I have to say one other thing that may ruin some peoples decision to stay, but this is hit or miss. We know for a fact that my boyfriends watch was stolen. We had locked our door every time we left the room and there was a small window in time that it would have been taken. its very difficult to speculate and say who stole the watch, but we could only guess as it was the only time we allowed our room to be cleaned. We had checked everywhere and everything, talked with the office but of course nothing could be done. This was back in July, still hasn't turned up and no call, but the office manager was nice in taking our information. kinda wish that could've done a little something extra (not sure what). unsure if we would stay here again. i had noticed better motels/hotels, hopefully on a better budget to stay elsewhere.

But, make sure you ask for the most updated cabin. It does cost a bit more but it is worth it. Some of the other cabins were very outdated but still clean nonetheless. Our cabin had everything we needed and a few extra amenities that I wasn't expecting but was glad to find at the ready (dishes, mugs, coffee maker, silverware, bottle opener, etc.) The facility is great - gorgeous location. The owners are always on-site cleaning up and making sure all is well. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. The ONLY reason I am not giving 5 stars is the lack of updates in the other cabins. It is decent distance to major stores so be sure to bring what you need. My son had his foot cut on a zebra mussel in the Bay but he was not wearing water shoes - please be sure you do! The bugs are no joke but you ARE on the bay. Bring spray and lots of it. And, still be prepared to get a million bites. Par for the course. Come prepared to relax.

The website is not well done and very misleading. Difficult to make an informed division on cabin choice. The cabin we reserved a year ago did not even have enough enough room around it to set a lawn chair out. The waterfront is dock only and full of mud/slime and weeds. The dogs jumped in and got covered in muck before we could even unpack. We had to get in the muck with them just to pull them out. THIS IS NOT PET FRIENDLY! So after a booking a year in advance with high hopes of a fun week with the dogs, we ended up leaving after an hour and driving another 4.5 hours home. $275 deposit gone, wasted full day driving and vacation ruined because of lack of credible information.
