The finance manager worked diligently trying to obtain financing for the balance of the vehicle I selected, and he succeeded which I thoroughly appreciated considering my "challenging" credit issues. Communication with all involved continued but then stopped after several days, this occurring after all documents were signed and updated, my $5100 deposit received, and all information requested by the finance company accepted and documented. By the end of last week, my associate, Josh, estimated that the car would be in transit soon but he could not commit to a definitive date. He assured me that they would work around my schedule so I would be home when their shipper arrived with the vehicle. Out of the blue, I receive a call from the shipper's driver stating he was at my location with the vehicle. My issue here is that no one contacted me with any indication that the shipper planned to arrive on Friday with the vehicle--no phone call, text, or email. I work several hours away from my residence and there was no one available at my home to receive the vehicle. Moreover, I needed to unpack my vehicle and prepare it for the shipper to transport to Kearns. Because of the lack of communication, I had no choice but to call off the deal, Livid by this time, I became frustrated and stressed and demanded back my down payment immediately (which I have not received). Speaking to a manager on Saturday==who spoke with great integrity and kindness--I attempted to try having it shipped again, but the powers to be stated I would have to pay $2600 in shipping costs. Does this seem fair, considering this was no fault of my own, but the responsibility of the dealership and their third party shipping service? Thus, the deal was off and my frustration, stress, and disappointment consumed my entire weekend. The issue here is failure on the part of Kearns to effectively and thoroughly communicate.
