During…read morethat time, I had been to over six other physical therapy offices, pain man specialists, doctors, etc. (both private practices and hospital systems) and I kept being told to continue generic exercises and stick with PT. But deep down, I knew something more was going on. I was also dealing with a herniated disc in my lower back that I wanted treated, so I decided to give MEPT a try. From the moment I walked in, I was cared for by Dr. Greg and Dr. Louisa, and they helped me make real, meaningful progress with my lower back. It has been a journey, but they got me to a place I truly did not think was possible. Every visit, the space is spotless, calm, and welcoming. The environment alone puts you at ease. The sessions are always one on one with true hands on manual therapy, and the bedside manner is exceptional. I always feel like I can relax knowing I am getting thoughtful, attentive care. At the same time, I was still trying to figure out the chest and rib pain that had been affecting my sleep, my breathing, and honestly my quality of life. That is where Dr. Dmitry came in, and I can only describe the experience as mind blowing. I scheduled a consultation with him, and within about twenty minutes of using his counterstrain technique, carefully feeling my ribs and working through areas no one had even looked at before, my breathing and chest pain improved dramatically. For the first time in over 8 months, I took a full deep breath. I did not even realize how restricted my breathing had become until that moment. I remember walking out of that session in shock. It honestly felt like magic. Dr. Dmitry is an incredible part of this team, and what stood out to me is how seamlessly everyone works together. Each provider has their strengths, and they are very honest about who is best suited to help with a specific issue. That level of collaboration and lack of ego is rare. It allowed me to be seen by multiple providers and get the best care possible as quickly as possible. I genuinely cannot thank this team enough. I had reached a point where I was not sure if I would ever truly get better, and this practice reminded me that great healthcare and truly attentive providers still exist. A special shoutout to Nika and Vilena as well. They are incredibly kind, helpful, and scheduling has always been smooth and easy. Especially in New York, there are so many clinics with perfect reviews. I have been to many of them. This place is DIFFERENT. I contacted this office in a professional capacity to clarify information on a medical certification form completed by Gregory Trahtenberg, Physical Therapist. The form had been completed hastily, and his last name was written so illegibly that I could not accurately determine it. My purpose for calling was simply to obtain clarification and a fax number so that I could assist our mutual patient. When I called the number provided on the form, I was repeatedly interrupted before I could explain the reason for my call. Mr. Trahtenberg asked who I was, where I was calling from, and who I was calling for, interrupting my responses each time. When I stated that I was calling for Gregory and could not make out the last name written on the form, he immediately responded, "If you can't read, maybe you should go back to elementary school," and then hung up on me. What made this interaction even more surprising was that Mr. Trahtenberg appears to speak English as a second language. As someone who likely understands the challenges that can arise in communication, I would have expected a greater degree of patience, professionalism, and courtesy rather than ridicule and insults. This was not a personal call. It was a professional inquiry regarding documentation that he himself had completed. Regardless of the circumstances, there is no justification for speaking to another person in such a demeaning and disrespectful manner. Healthcare providers are entrusted with treating patients with professionalism, compassion, and respect. Based on this interaction, I have serious concerns about the level of professionalism demonstrated by this provider. If this is how legitimate professional inquiries are handled, I would be hesitant to trust this office with my healthcare needs. I would strongly encourage prospective patients to consider this experience when deciding where to seek care.

Both situations I ignored until the pain became unbearable, yet Monique guided me to a full recovery from conditions I thought too severe to heal. That experience--impersonal, assembly-line treatment with no clear plan for healing--was in stark contrast to Monique's care. It was a reminder of what an exceptional doctor she is. I had tried another local PT and had a terrible experience, but from the moment I came in to HoPT, I knew I was in the right hands. Shannon has treated me with such care, empathy, and professionalism. She is incredibly kind, encouraging, deeply knowledgeable, and attentive. Early in my recovery, she noticed that my surgical wound showed signs of infection and thanks to her sharp instincts, I was able to get a 2nd surgery to clean and re-close the wound before things got worse. Even when I was on crutches, she thoughtfully challenged me with tailored exercises to rebuild strength and mobility. She struck the perfect balance between compassion and push, motivating me to keep working hard and trust the process. At my 5-month post-op, my surgeon told me I was healing like someone 8 months out, and I have Shannon to thank for that. I'm running again, feeling stronger, and experiencing less pain. The clinic itself is amazing. With just 2 PTs working at a time, each patient gets 1-on-1 care. The environment is calm, personalized, and supportive. This past July, I hurt myself during yoga (a result and mix of over-exercising/working out/pandemic stress) and I was referred to this practice. Before then, I had never injured myself physically and was experiencing - what I soon came to recognize - a high level of anxiety previously unknown to me. As someone who always felt extremely strong, both physically and mentally, I felt like a stranger in my own body. Dr. Niv (Zack) was my primary therapist and (while I wish I had never injured myself or had to learn what anxiety was) I consider it a major blessing that of all the PT's in the world, I somehow happened to find him. He is an expert, serious professional, and all around fantastic human being. I have never felt more safe, taken care, understood, or truly heard by a health care professional ever in my life. The care I received was always personalized and thoughtful. I always felt like he wanted to hear what was on my mind/concerns/etc. His understanding of the body and mind is incredible. My treatment always felt like an extremely educated and human approach. Something I (and everyone else) desperately needed. I could go on! While I am essentially recovered, I wish I could visit this practice every week. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. When I came to Cynergy, I was feeling soreness all along the muscles in my foot and was unable to walk without some pain. After my sessions with Gabrielle, I don't feel any residual pain in my foot or ankle when I am walking. I am able to do regular activities again, like high intensity cardio, strength workouts and I have no pain afterwards. Gabrielle did a fantastic job and was pleasant to work with. I highly recommend her as a therapist as she will take the necessary precautions to nurse you back to full strength.

I am what many would consider to be a senior citizen ( I certainly don't feel like that), and thanks to Keith I am now deadlifting my own body weight - 115 pounds ! I find the workouts to be far more challenging than I would ever do on my own and also the fun factor is a huge plus! I have met many people who dealing with serious injuries at Perfect Stride but the atmosphere is so upbeat and supportive there is this sense that recovery is always in reach and being told things like " You are not your MRI" really helps. I came in after dealing with more than half a year of chronic pain in multiple places--my knee, hamstring, and random spots--that had completely sidelined my running. I had already tried several well-known running PT clinics around the city and continued to end up with lingering pain and zero trust in my providers or recovery plan. By the time I found Vikash, I was frustrated, burned out, and extremely fearful that I'd never get back to running. From day one, Vikash was different. He was the only PT who actually listened to what I'd been experiencing. He took the time to understand the full picture and built a thoughtful, personalized plan instead of a one-size-fits-all routine. What made the biggest difference, though, was how he guided me through the recovery process with positivity. I was extremely pessimistic when I started but overtime with his thoughtful and supportive approach, I began to feel more hopeful. He helped me understand that pain isn't always a setback, taught me how to work through it safely, and reframed how I think about my body and training. Those skills have been genuinely life-changing, and I know I'll carry them with me as an athlete forever. Recovery wasn't always easy, and there some bumps throughout the process, but I really would not be where I am today without Vikash. I'm now not only out of chronic pain but actively training again. Even though I have occasional flare ups, I have so much more understanding about how to work through them and not fear injury/pain as an athlete.
