I typically do my brows myself, but with a big trip and two weeks of wanting to spend zero extra time on my makeup, I decided to leave nothing to chance and opted to have them tended professionally. I paid the extra fee to have the owner, Destiny, do my brows herself. No messing around. I walked in and she was ready. The space was clean, and I dropped into some casual conversation with her and her coworker with ease. They were both free when I walked in, but both chairs filled within a few minutes. I explained where I was going/my needs, and she did her thing. My brows are a little uneven as far as thickness, so for the first couple of days I added a little fill to the one, but after a couple of days they evened out and still looked great. The shape was perfect, they were the right shade, and gave me the POP I wanted. I went in the ocean multiple times, salty hot springs, hiking in the Mexican sun, endured a myriad of pillowcases in hotels, plus had my sleep mask and several different hats on, and we're still looking pretty good now that I'm home from my adventures. I would definitely consider microshading there in the future. Destiny's vibe might not be right for everyone, but the Browtique was it for me.

There is one lady who is senior to the others who seems to rule the roost and watches all the manicurists. They seem to be very intimated by her and she offers a lot of unsolicited advise and input that I doubt is necessary or required. I cannot explain it other than if made me feel like all I wanted to do was leave. She needs to leave them alone and let them do their job. I would go back if I could be assured she would not be there. At least for my experience, and another reviewer who mentions her, it dampened my experience dramatically. They paid more attention to where she was and what she was trying to say to them than interacting to the person attached to the toes. The pedicure is great though, and is holding up very well. I got the VIP pedicure and it was quite nice. I recommend asking them NOT to trim your cuticles. They are not supposed to be trimmed unless you have a hang nail. They should be pushed, and the dead skin will roll off after a good soak. Cutting can lead to infection or discomfort. Google it please, cutting is not a good practice.

I replied that I wanted a balance. Without hesitation, I was told, "We're closed." Confused, I responded, "Online it says you close at 7." The woman then told me, "It's 4, I have another person, and we close at 5." None of this matched the information I had received. What stood out most was her demeanor and she avoided eye contact, didn't offer any apology or explanation, and the interaction left me feeling deeply uncomfortable and unwelcome. There were no other customers of color present, and the experience made me feel as though I wasn't wanted there. To add to the frustration, I waited 25 minutes after leaving and called again. This time, someone else answered and again confirmed that they close at 7. As a resident of the neighborhood, it was disheartening to feel dismissed and disregarded like this, especially knowing how much my partner and I contribute to this community. I cannot in good faith recommend this business based on the treatment I received. For contrast, I drove just three minutes away to TA Nails & Spa, where I was warmly greeted, treated with respect, and received excellent service. I was in and out in 45 minutes and more importantly, I felt seen and valued.
