I called another muffler shop on a Saturday and asked if they can install a dual exhaust system on my 2020 Tacoma. The guy just rudely replied with "No, no. I can't do dual today. After visiting 4 shops I came across this while I was getting my alignment. Karo made sure I had the best service and price. For $70 I got a new flange on my exhaust many places don't even carry 2 1/4 inch flange. This guy went out of his way to make sure I don't cut my stock muffler. I went to Best 4 Less (after finding through a random web search) and was delighted with both the price and the muffler repair work. Incredibly affordable when compared to what the dealer wanted to charge (for a new muffler -- wouldn't even consider doing the repair). This repair has also held up as the work was done almost two years ago. (I am posting the review now because I had to search-up the Best 4 Less phone number to get recommendations for some more small shops that do similarly affordable, yet high-quality work. i simply cannot recommend Karo enough! with other diagnostic techs recommending me junk my 96 thunderbird for having numerous 'engine light' issues, my mechanic recommended Karo and it was a blessing. as someone trying to survive in L.A. on an income not as large as i'd like, losing my car would have been devastating...i'd already sunk a lot into it to keep it running and didn't have the funds for something else dependable. Karo patiently and expertly found out just what was needed, 2 cat converters and an oxygen sensor, and told me just what it would cost to get the car smogged. while the original diagnostic tech told me it would cost thousands to get the car smogged, Karo found 2 calif certified cat converter replacements, and the needed oxygen sensor, and barely charged labor to get it all done within a day. i went across the street to the star smog place and passed. he really saved me, and i am truly thankful! a really good guy! read more

So I was referred here by a guy who is from the area that I didnt know well. I thought how could you really mess up welding on a muffler. the easiest thing you could do on a car. That being said... run from this place. The dude has a buzzbox and a sawzall and calls the place a legitimate business. In the hands of the right person a little mig and a sawzall could produce a pretty high quality muffler job. What happened on my car would best be qualified as a hack job. First off the piping went from 2.5 to 2.25 inlet of the muffler. Do we get offered a reducer to have a smooth step down? no. the pipes got welded layer on top of layer to fill the gap and even the weld quality is shit. Next, The muffler had a bracket that came with it. I suggested welding a new hanger and using the new bracket which would result in a clean hanger setup. This dude welds the two old brackets to the new muffler(half the diameter of the original muffler), strips a bolt holding two halves of the brackets together and calls it good. when I showed my *****professional****** mechanic back home and ranted to him he laughed and agreed that is was possibly the farthest thing from a professional job I coulda gotten done. Even the lift situation at the shop irked me. The dense rubber pads on the lifting arms has been worn through so the metal of the arms rests right on the little factory lift points (not the frame rails) which are painted... mine now have less paint. If you've read this far you can probably tell I'm full OCD about my automobile. I'm going back under there when I have access to a lift and correcting this mistake. If you love your car do yourself a favor and steer clear of this shop. Save yourself some time. Last thing... the guy who suggested the place said he'd do it for a good price and i took his word. He left. when it was done the exhaust guy was like $100 bucks. there was no bartering as i dont speak spanish very and the guy spoke one word of english "hundred".. hah its almost comedy how badly i got played.i paid and left as fast as possible. a hundred bucks for 15 minutes of the shittiest labor i've ever seen. Lesson learned. read more
