Decided to come here to get a high milage oil change cause I found a great deal on Groupon and the raving reviews. I was able to schedule a same day appointment which was very convenient. While I was waiting the guy working on my car came to ask me if he could show me something. I followed him out to my car where he showed me how low my breaks are and told me how long I have until they need to be replaced. This is the first time anyone, in any of the shops I've been too, has shown me the issue without pressuring to get it done now and I really loved that. I highly recommend checking them out if you are looking for quality work and an affordable price!

This is their card . If your tired of people overcharging you and not even fixing the problem . Call to see when they can fit you in .

Found this shop thru Yelp and SUPER happy I did!…read more My car was diagnosed by a local mechanic to have a faulty transmission. I took my car in and the owner Joe was extremely helpful, honest and really knows his stuff! He explained to me the different possible scenarios and involved me in every step of his diagnostic. (I even went with him on his test drive! Super smart dude!) My car ended up not having a transmission issue but rather a engine misfire, caused by a faulty gasket. After being misdiagnosed, any dishonest transmission shop could have taken advantage. Not Joe! I saved a ton of money and he gained a life long customer. Also! He sends you videos of the repair process just like the dealer! Super cool!

When you take your car to a shop for repair, the best you could hope for is that the shop you take…read moreit to treats you fairly, does a good job, and they respect you and your situation. The last thing you hope for, is that they only want to get as much money as possible from you and they have little concern for you as a customer. I wouldn't recommend bringing your car here because my experience was bad, and I'll explain why. I'll also recommend the transmission shop that worked out well for me. I usually start any repair by calling a few shops to see if a shop can do the job and what they estimate the cost to be. When I called Transmission Super Shop, I talked to the Owner Joe. And He didn't remember that I had called for a quote about my coolant system months ago, and he had given me a quote on transmission.. The previous quote I got was $5500. And during this call he was quoting upwards of $6000. It was easily a 15-20minute call, because I was driving from Downtown to Santa Monica and I was parking in Santa Monica when we concluded. Most of the discussion was him explaining to me why it was so expensive. I could tell he was upselling me from the previous time we spoke. And it concluded with me saying, "Well I simply don't have a budget for that amount" A few minutes later, He texted me back, saying that he would do the job for $3500. I will include Screenshots. Already, I would consider prices that are based on the amount of money the customer has, a "Yellow Flag" if not a "Red Flag". But after discussing it with him, it sounded more like he was scaling the type of work to fit my needs. He was willing to do a repair, rather than a replacement. And seeing as how they are a transmission shop that specializes in that type of work, it made sense that they would be willing and able to do that. I said, I would think about it and get back to him. At the time, I was considering selling the car, and My lease was up on my place, so I had to consider the added costs of moving. Tough Choice. I did some budgeting, and Messaged him a few days later and he said that the price was only good for that week. Which, okay, that sets off some warning signals. Why would the price change in a week? Sort of seems like a tactic to pressure the customer into doing the job... And it was. But, I thought about it and later that week I asked him if I could bring it in on the following monday because rent was due and it would work better if I waited till another pay check. He didn't remember our conversation. He asked what it was about, and he said he deleted the conversation. I totally get it, customers come and go and you deal with a lot of people, but it wasn't the best customer service. You would hope that if someone gives you a week to decide, that when you call back later that week they would still remember the ultimatum that forced you to consider rearranging your life to meet. But as it turns out, that's not the kind of customer service and consideration that Transmission Super Shop Offers. It was inconvenient to him. He said it was okay to bring the car in on that date. When the date came, I actually texted to ask if I could bring the car in earlier. Once again He didnt remember. And he said it would take 2 weeks. Which was different than what he had said earlier. So I asked why. He no longer wanted to do the job. But you should read the text messages and get a feel for the customer service and get a sense of his thought processes and mine. Decide for yourself what you think of it. But I'll give you my impression and my takeaway, because that's what a yelp review is. An account of my experience of a business. As a means of helping other people with their big decisions when considering that business. My impression of Joe and the Transmission Super shop.... They want your money, they want you in and out. Don't ask questions. Don't be inconvenient. Don't waste their time. Every conversation was actually a negotiation. RECAP: 1. I called for a quote and he didnt remember the previous quote and raised the price. 2. I didnt have the money, so he made me an offer, but said it was only good for that week. 3. I asked if I could bring it in early, he said no, & it would take 2 weeks 4. I ask why, and he says he doesn't want to do the job anymore. But as a customer, I was always acting on the information from our previous exchange. And each time he didnt remember and changed the situation and seemed annoyed by my questions. In his mind, he's giving me a deal and I should just bring it in no questions asked. He wasn't understanding of my situation. For me it was a months rent trying to save the life of my car, for him it was annoying. When your mechanic is annoyed that you have questions, its a problem. HT Transmissions I…read morecannot say enough wonderful things about HT Transmissions Repair and Pedro. Bought a used car in November 2025, 5 weeks later, P0741 torque converter code, flashing D while driving. Between a shitty 90 day warranty and 1000.00 out of pocket expense, had a new torque converter for a grand total of 2600.00, that was reduced to 2300.00 and a 90 day warranty. 102 days, yes 12 days after warranty was over. When my transmission completely failed, 102 days after having it fixed, I was beside myself. I live 3 hours from L.A. and travel there often. I also live on a fixed income. In other words, now I had a car 87 miles from where I live, and 130 miles from HT Transmissions Repair. and no savings to speak of , to fix it...blah blah blah. I was quoted by RPM Motorcars, Sherman Oaks, same shop who put the torque converter in to begin with, but another shop was going to do the work....yes, cannot make this shit up. 6800.00 retail, but reduced to RPMS cost of 4500.00. 24 months /24,000 warranty. Or options 2 a used transmission with 49,000 miles, for 2200.00. And another 700.00 to install it. But said, not recommended. But would not put 24 months/24,000 in writing. Now, call me crazy.... I would have much preferred options to begin with it. I already researched this time cost of rebuilt transmissions, used transmissions and even remanufactured transmissions. I could have bought a new transmission for 6800.00 I had already been quoted 4500.00 from a shop in Ridgecrest. That is the average, higher rebuild cost. Then I really researched and found HT Transmissions on Fulton, North Hollywood. He's been in business for 31 years and has great reviews. From the beginning, Pedro was honest, patient and took the time to explain everything without trying to upsell or gouge me. Pedro and his crew, yes he has a ten man crew not only did a complete rebuild, he did it for 2800.00 saving me thousands of dollars. 12 months/12,000 miles. HT and Pedro took an incredible, financially stressful situation and turned it into something I could actually afford. My car runs beautifully and I have a peace of mind knowing I can travel, make my long commutes safely. Pedro and his crew not only take tremendous pride in their work. A couple of days after being fixed I noticed a rather large leak under my car, shocked.....called Pedro let him know what happened, that I needed to return home the next day..... He sent two of his guys to pick my car up, fixed it (it was just a loose clamp) free of charge. That's service So, if you're looking an honest, knowledgeable, fair transmission repair shop....look no further than PEDRO and his crew at HT TRANSMISSIONS REPAIR at 7325 Fulton Ave., North Hollywood, CA. 91605 818-982-1212 Thank you again Pedro for your integrity and your incredible work. BEWARE - DO NOT GO HERE Vincent (owner) is a CROOK. I…read morebrought my car in because the electric power steering failed. It took him over two weeks to "diagnose" and attempt repairs. During that time, he replaced multiple parts that didn't fix the issue, then removed them, returned them to the manufacturer, and reinstalled the old ones (which has now caused the blind spot monitor sensor to fail). After more than two weeks without my vehicle, he finally told me the power steering was repaired. When I picked up my car, I was charged over $1,200. Before I left, he gave the usual speech about wanting customers to be satisfied and told me to bring the car back if anything was wrong. As soon as I turned the car on, warning lights started appearing. He told me they would reset themselves. Shortly after, I realized I could no longer control the windows from the driver's side, the blind spot monitoring sensor wasn't working, and several other issues had appeared, none of which existed before I brought the car in. I called him and returned the vehicle. He refused to take responsibility for the new problems that occurred while my car was in his possession. He claimed the car already had these errors, which is completely FALSE. He even said he has video footage to prove my windows didn't work (which his report from 2/14 clearly states otherwise)--unbelievable. Although he fixed one issue, several others were created in the process. Instead of addressing the damage, he accused me of "looking for someone to blame" and "trying to come up on him." He even told me I could sue him if I wanted to. All I want is for him to fix the other issues HE created. I requested a refund so I could take my vehicle to a qualified professional to have it properly repaired. He refused and insisted he had nothing to do with the additional problems. His own report reflects that my windows and blind spot monitor were working when the car was dropped off on 2/14. At that point, I knew he was a crook and was not going to fix any of the issues he created. Vincent, there is no need to respond by claiming I am lying or that my car arrived with all of these issues--it did NOT, and your own report reflects that. Based on other reviews here (which I truly wish I had seen before bringing my car in), this seems to be a pattern. Now my car is full of errors that will cost me a fortune to fix. I feel like a complete fool for taking my car here and dealing with this dishonest crook.

I'm updating this review because the business response is misleading…read more I have a voicemail from Steve clearly stating that they did not want to get involved with my vehicle because another shop had already worked on it and he did not want me to possibly "get upset at them too." That was the exact reasoning given. This was not about warranty. It was not about saving me money. I was fully prepared to pay for an inspection or any necessary correction. I was simply asking for a professional second opinion. If a shop refuses work because they're concerned a customer might "get upset," that raises serious questions about confidence in their own work. A reputable shop stands behind its skills and diagnoses issues regardless of who previously touched the vehicle. Changing the explanation publicly after the fact does not reflect well. I stand by what I said. I had a very disappointing experience at Automotive Instincts in Northridge. I called and spoke with Steve about looking at my car after another shop had worked on it, and he basically told me they didn't want to touch it because another shop already did the work. His reasoning was that he didn't want me to "get upset at them too." That makes absolutely no sense. As a customer, I'm simply looking for a professional second opinion or proper correction if something wasn't done right. Refusing to even inspect the vehicle just because another shop previously worked on it feels unprofessional and dismissive. Cars get worked on by multiple shops all the time -- that's normal. Turning someone away out of fear of a bad review instead of standing behind your own skills says a lot. Very disappointing customer service. I expected more professionalism and confidence from a shop with such high ratings.
