I consider myself a cheeseburger aficionado, and I am very discerning about the balance and construction of my burgers. These burgers are as well put together as any I have eaten. The burger patty is not too big. The "bigger is better" restaurants insult the true burger fans. The balance of meat, veggies and bun were right on. No element dominated the others. There is no "secret sauce," but rather is moderately dressed with mayo and mustard, separated within the burger assembly. This is not a burger that sends juices and sauce dribbling down your chin or creates a pile of slurry on your plate, thus there is not rush to eat it quickly before it falls apart. The patties are grilled on an open flame grill, so while there is no "Smashburger-like crust on the patty, they are charred to perfection, and add real smokey-salty-fatty flavor to the final product. They don't bother offering 20 types of imported cheese for you you to choose from, because they already know there is only one true cheese for the ultimate cheeseburger: American cheese. The lettuce-tomato-onion ratio is perfect, always fresh, and compliments the burger exactly as needed. Their burgers do not slide apart like some of the larger, less well balanced mayonnaise bomb purveyors like Nations. And finally, they wrap the burgers in heavy, well folded paper that is ergonomic to handle and eat from. I have never had a Best Burger escape its paper wrapping. If you buy into the "All great burgers require 12 napkins during the meal" dogma perpetrated by Carl's Jr., you will not enjoy Best Burger. If, like me, you understand that a well balanced assembly creates the perfect flavor profile, and wish to eat at your own pace rather than hurriedly rushing to beat the burger's imminent self-destruction, you owe it to yourself to give them a try. read more

Just had the "Best Burger" last week that has the hot pastrami on top of the beef patty. It was better than I expected.

This place has great burgers as well as a tasty Pastrami burger. They have large steak fries and the shakes are really thick and actually ice cream. Not some mix with water. My husband has been coming here since this place opened 20 years ago (GAWD I feel old) and I have been coming for several years thought not consistently. We went after a hiatus for no reason and found it just as great as ever! Nothing has changed in 20 years, not the decor and not the food. The mushroom swiss burger is my go to. It's perfectly cooked at medium rare (I swear expensive places cannot get the cook right but this place can) with ALL the fixings. My husband get the fancy one with the pastrami and loves it. I drove by Best Burger at least 50 times before I ever decided to try it. One day I decided to check out their reviews and although there weren't many, they were good enough for me to give it a shot. I am really happy that I did! The burgers are great and the fries are tasty too. The bun, shredded lettuce and other toppings are exactly the way I like them. I get either a regular cheeseburger or the veggie burger (w/ cheese) and they are both delicious. A lot of veggie burgers end up soggy and tasteless but there is a nice crunch to Best Burger's veggie burger. I introduced my sister to Best Burger on Saturday and she wanted it again on Sunday. Unfortunately they aren't open on Sundays and they don't have onion rings (which is why I am only giving them 4 stars). The original write up that came up when I clicked Best Burger is spot on. I first came upon this place when traveling to the East Bay in the late 90's. The current owner kept the food standard the same and if you want a good decent well wrapped burger - this is the place. It isn't too busy on weekends (sadly closed Sunday's). Worth the ride - you will not be disappointed and if stuck in traffic, call your order in. By the way, their milkshakes are a hidden treasure - chocolate in particular. Want to make friends with the owner, ask when he is going to have onion rings (personal friendly joke)... Anyone new in town, we take them to Best Burger. Started coming here about 10 years ago and its always been good. One of the best things is the NY Steak sandwich (Out of this world), they took it off the menu then added it back. My dad loves the hot pastrami, This Place is known for its outstanding Burgers but go off the regular menu and you will be pleased to find a Veggie Burger, Hot dogs and chicken. I love the fries they are real French Fries Crispy outside and squishy inside a Fry with some real heft to it not those scrawny Fry's you get at fast food chains. What's best is their consistency. The food is always cooked to order, fresh, quality ingredients. Staff is always courteous/professional. The seating is clean & simple. I work near this place and really enjoy eating here. The only thing is you MUST tell them to cook it Medium. Otherwise, you can expect it super well done. Won't be going there ever again. Make sure cooks wash their hands before touching your food. It was disgusting seeing them touch their hair and shirts and then handling your food with out gloves, hair nets or proper hand washing. I ordeered 4 burgers. One was already cooked which they wrapped and bagged then put the other three on. I complained one would be cold by the time the others were done. He just gave me a blank stare so I asked for my moey back. It was 23.87. I tried to give him back his 13 cents and told him to give me back the 24 I had given him.
