It's a small spot (maybe 4-5 tables), so just keep that in mind if you're a larger party. My friend got the Yowza burger and really enjoyed it. I got the Peruvian Dip and while it tasted good and the meat was decently tender, there were 2 peppers next to it on the menu indicating it was spicy and the Aji Amarillo sauce was not spicy at all. A little lacking in flavor as well and the grilled onions were a tad overcooked and gave a slimy texture. Kind of disappointing that it's advertised as a spicy sandwich. The Cajun curly fries were also not spicy (but said it was on the menu), but the seasoning tasted great and the fries themselves were cooked perfectly and not oily at all. Great portion too. I want to like this place because Martinez needs small cute family style restaurants like them, but oh my gosh are they slow. Like really slow. I came here to meet a friend for lunch on a Friday and we both ordered salads. A half hour later her salad came and we waited a good 10 more minutes for mine. I really dislike when restaurants bring dishes out separately and why in the world did it take forever to get two salads? We were the 1 of 2 tables at the time our order was taken. So let's get to the food, I ordered the kale apple salad and sweet potato fries with Dijon aioli. The fries came with ranch instead, they later brought out the dipping sauce that was ordered. They were crisp and tasty. The salad was beautifully assembled, but the dressing was a little bit on the vinegary side. This is what I will say, give them a try but if you have a hard 1 hour lunch time then maybe call your order in ahead of time because you might not make it back in time. read more

Came to this place when I saw it on TikTok, the place is a bit small but they have outside seating and the service is amazing. Their food items are great from burgers to street dogs, to their sides. I tried the onion rings with the Parmesan on top and it was a great taste. The burgers have a backyard grill taste to it which is really nice. I like how they present your food as well with the burger open with the veggies on the side so you can had ketchup or mustard. I will come back and bring more people with me. read more

Decided to give them a second chance, because why not. The restaurant is clean, and kinda fun with lots of wall art, it's very small with only a few tables. They do have a nice outdoor seating area with umbrellas over the tables for shade. The staff was nice and were decently prompt to assist me when I arrived. They did bring the food to the table and a full jug of water. The burger was okay, I had the Burgertinez, the pesto and mayo was a good touch, with the sprouts. The cheese was sort of melted and the burger was cooked well inside but had some burnt edges on the outside. The fries were solid. The pickle was really good. Great music, friendly staff, and a terrific menu. I had the Burgertinez with fresh guacamole, melted jack cheese, sprouts, and pesto on the side. That pesto came in handy for dipping my Flat Fries. Where have these been all my life?! I guess they're just thinly cut steak fries but they are incredible. As a side, they come with the burger. And this was cute. They presented a glass and a chilled glass milk bottle filled with water when you sit down. I couldn't have been more charmed by the whole experience. Don't wait for jury duty. From the nostalgic Beach Boys anthology playing at the perfect volume to the complimentary yucca fries tasting we received, Yowza is definitely an understatement to describe our eating experience tonight! We were greeted warmly and with a smile, the waitress was so sweet! We loved the decor and my honey, being a painter, especially appreciated the expertise in the interior painting. Way cool art hanging around, good beer on tap, and a happy hour we will try to catch soon! When people say you must try the flat fries, they are NOT lying; DO IT. I wanted to try this place because I loved you could get an Impossible patty or a veggie burger on any of their burgers. It was a really nice day outside, so we got to sit out on their outdoor patio. The service was really fast too, which we loved! I ordered the PORTOBELLICIOUS: roasted bell peppers, cucumber, Feta Cheese, pesto sauce, wheat bun. Super tasty, felt like I was eating ever-so-slightly healthy. This small restaurant has both street parking and a lot nearby to support its customers. In addition, a covered outdoor dining area stands ready to be used. The restaurant itself has but 6 tables so be warned that space can be limited. We were directed to our table when we arrived and had our choice of the eatery. The customer service was superb as was the presentations of our meals. The taste was satisfying. For my tastes, the curly fries were cooked a bit too long but was good for the other members of my party. I ordered the Burgertinez which comes with Guacamole, melted jack cheese, sprouts, and pesto on the side. It's great to have a brand new choice in the Martinez Downtown area! I was super excited to try this place because of its organic meat. The place is pretty small, used to be the old Taco Daddy's... I was surprised they have sit down service. I thought it was going to be order at the counter deliver to you. We sat outside and enjoyed the day. The restaurant was clean and the remodel is nice. The server was great, got all us what we needed. It's new so you have to go with it. We ordered the flat fries? Interesting? Not my favorite.. OMG I have to agree with one of the reviews about the overwhelming feeling in a good way. From the minute you walk down the street to the minute you leave. From outside you can tell something good is cooking. Then you walk inside and service is fantastic. The restaurant is small but kept clean and has a great aura. Then we talk about the food and wow I've had their breakfast burger and their BLT sandwich. Also the empanada and all were GREAT. Cooked perfectly and good quality. Bonus points because on one of the days they had run out of meat empanadas and when I got there they said if I wanted a spinach one. I hesitated because I had to be at work in 10 mins. Yeah ok not a bad burger joint. Hubby and I came in here because we didn't know what we wanted to eat then spotted this place. First off, the place is very clean. I was looking for dirt and dust but couldn't find any. Secondly, the service was spectacular. There were two employees out front and both were very friendly and quick with the service. We tried the regular fries and the Cajun spiced fries. Both were delicious, although I'm not really sure what made the Cajun fries Cajun because they did taste like any other seasoned curly fries, but let me emphasize that I still really like the fries, cooked to perfection. We both had the regular burger with the Impossible patties. Two dollars extra for the patties (sighhh). Burgers were ok tasting, although good nothing really memorable. I ordered the the happy hour burger and added bbq sauce , sautéed jalapeños and avocado. Perfect. Husband ordered Yowza! Bacon, fried onion rings, cheese and bbq sauce. The bbq sauce is house made and perfect balance of tangy and sweet. Chicken tenders- pounded chicken cutlets perfectly battered and crisp. Empanada - yes, empanada. This restaurant has Peruvian flare. It was excellent and it came with a delightful aji Amarillo sauce. I ended up using it in everything! We took a tamal home and it came with more aji sauce AND pickled red onions. Out of this world!!! Service was also friendly and super helpful without being over the top. I would say it was poor/fair. Until today, I hadn't been back for just those reasons. However, today, I didn't want to walk home. I'm angry with the person at home. So I thought maybe I ought to give Yowza Burger another shot. Afterall, they've been doing their thing for a while now, it might be okay. I ordered the French Dip with Au Jus. Verdict - NOPE. 1. Au Jus COLD, like straight out of the refrigerator 2. Onions overcooked 3. Bread wet 4. Tri-tip slab, not typical shaved 5. $20.00, you have got to be KIDDING?!?! 6. Today, I was strolling around for something to eat that looked clean and healthy while I wait to go back to jury duty, and I found Yowza burgers. I was pleasantly surprised to find a decent wine list and I ordered the strawberry spinach salad and added a medium rare salmon fillet on top. Lunch was super tasty. I guess I didn't read that there was bacon in there, but the bacon was super crunchy and added a nice flavor on the side. I was able to eat out on the patio and the weather was nice today. A calm 78° in Martinez. I can tell you that this was the best restaurant experience that I have ever had in Martinez. We checked out Yowza burgers yesterday and we are very happy! The portion is not crazy and may I add that their skinny fries (didn't try the others, yet) are so good! There are very limited seatings in the restaurant but thankful for our wonderful weather, there are so outdoors seating as well. Service was fast. So we've now ordered burgers from Yowza Burgers twice, so between hubby and I have tried four different offerings and let me say they are fantastic. In addition to burgers, the menu includes sandwiches, salads, milkshakes, and brilliantly two kinds of fries (skinny and flats - think thin steak fries), yum. My hubby likes their fresh made lemonade especially. Today I tried the aji amarillo sauce (Peruvian jalapeño sauce) which was fantastic. If they make it themselves, they should sell bottles of it on the side. The staff are amazingly friendly and efficient, with a keen eye toward service. I met a friend for lunch and this place has an indoor and outdoor seating. Both indoor and outdoor are limited seats. I got a burger with lettuce wrap and we shared the sweet potatoes. The burger and fries came out pretty fast as we got there around 1 so not too many people were there. The jalapeños were soggy and sweet, the chipotle mayo sauce was sweet and the canjun curly fries were very salty and greasy. There was no spice to them. I couldn't finish the burger or fries.
