My wife enjoyed a bowl of wonton soup and an egg roll. The egg roll was amazing and the soup was pretty good. I thoroughly enjoyed a bacon cheeseburger combo which comes with some tasty fries and a drink. Next visit I may go for the double bacon cheeseburger combo. The burger had a lot of bacon. We visited with the guy behind the counter who I think was the owner and they've been making great food for over 40 years. Friendly people with great food. Today I decided to switch it up and try the spicy chicken sandwich ( GMO Chicken patty and was far from spicy), Chicken Fried Rice (chicken was dry and wasn't fresh), Fish and Shrimp Basket (poor quality out of the frozen section), Frito Pie (average). I don't like giving bad reviews but how else do these businesses hear you and improve... that burger was an embarrassment. It looked and tasted like a sad frozen patty. I understand that's how they keep the price down but my gosh, I was appalled at how bad it was. No flavor but disappointment and regret in your mouth. I get that having fresh meat would drive up the price but I want to support a business, who's been around since I was in high school and is a Stafford institution, that actually gives a dam about their ingredients. I was recommended this place by my barber in the area so the next time I was in the area I decided to give it a shot. It's located in a small shopping strip but don't be fooled by the facade. When I pulled up it said burgers and Chinese food. Don't let that turn you away. If your looking for a good old fashioned burger nothing fancy just a good ole hearty burger than you gotta try these burgers. I was very impressed and satisfied with my burger. The fries were small they call them "Freedom Fries" but I'm sure you can get a larger option if you wanted. The fries were ok they were kringle cut fries. We BARELY made it in time, but they were gracious enough to take our order before closing. We were so thankful. My wife has been talking about wanting best burger for weeks now, literally. The woman put it on our calendar. She got off of work today so excited, and even our daughter was ready for burger time at best burger. My wife ordered the burger how they recommend it for the first time, she said she will never order it differently and she is not even a mayo girl. My daughter got a cheeseburger, and I got a bacon burger, it was all delicious. I will say, don't skip the chili, y'all. We literally ordered two cups of it bc it's that good. Please try this place at least once, it's one of the few places my wife will try a burger dry (no sauce, no veggies) it's that good, she only tried it with stuff slowly and more recently. I usually order the bacon cheeseburger with extra Mayo, toasted bun and extra bacon combo that comes with fries & a drink. The burger is always huge, juicy and fresh! Everything is undoubtedly made to order based on the temperature of the food. Customer service is generally quick and accommodating to your requests. I have not tried any of the Chinese food on the menu but if the burger quality is any predictor, I know it's good as well! The inside is basic and set up to mostly accommodate groups in booth style seating. Ordered pepper steak and I was disappointed, it was bland way to much sauce and more vegetables than meat also the fried rice was disappointing and bland it was just white rice with soy sauce no onions, egg or vegetables. The fried mushrooms were good but the ranch was kraft and I don't particularly like that brand of ranch. Service was nice and friendly and restaurant was good and clean. I come here sometimes with a close friend of mine when I come to visit him in Stafford and he told me about how great this places was. I have been here several times and the burgers taste awesome and they also have a variety of great sides like fried mushrooms, chicken nuggets and crinkle fries to get with a burger if u want. Each tasted great when I came here and the burgers have that tasty simple, but fresh charbroiled flavor to them similar to Burger King in a way like they were in the 90s n previous decades. I also really like the variety of sodas they have as well. I like to sometimes get either a cold can of Pepsi or Grape Soda with my burger when I come here too. After giving in to all the hype of Trill Burgers, we decided we'd go back to BEST BURGER. We hadn't been in a while as none of us live near Stafford (but honestly, even with the 59/69 closure, it only took me 23 minutes to get there from inside the Loop). But honestly, it was so much better than the extremely overrated Trill (which I found to be like a fast-food burger, but with slightly better quality beef). At BEST BURGER, we had many options for our burgers. They were all prepared exactly as ordered. They were made with ground-in-house chuck. The buns were lightly toasted to prevent sogginess. Excellent. The fried mushroom were great! Manuel came out to explain the mushrooms were a better quality and you could tell: they did not have the high water content that scalds your mouth when you bite into them. The onion rings were crisp, sweet, and huge . . . like bangles! And don't forget about the old-style crinkle cut fries. We didn't have any of the Chinese food. But you know a place has to be good if it's still open after almost 39 years! read more
