I love to eat here! Food is soo yummy and big serving too!! It's casual place to bring family.

This place had a big menu, offered alcohol, was family friendly, and had indoor/outdoor seating. You order at the counter and get a buzzer. I got the chicken fried steak (thin and perfectly battered), green beans (lightly seasoned), and mac and cheese (tasteless). The people working here are very friendly. I would come back for the burger (saw a lot of people getting that).

I went on a Sunday. The setup is simple--order first, then find a seat. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't for me. It lacked flavor, and the drinks were pretty weak; honestly, I could have just ordered a slushy and had the same experience. What surprised me most was how packed the place was, so maybe I just ordered the wrong items.

3.5 stars is for the food but I'll bump it to a 4 because the service was very good and welcoming. Every single staff member was very helpful & kind. So the restaurant itself has no frills, it's rustic and has a homey feel to it. Their food feels like it's made from home and with love. Here are some of the items I've ordered. * Chili- we can argue up & down if beans are suppose to be in chili. For me, I don't think beans should be in them and I stand firm on that. Fortunately, they make theirs without beans (thank goodness). It was seasoned nicely, hearty and filling. The meat however was a little dry. Not a bad bowl of chili though. 3/5 * Buffalo wings- good buffalo sauce, but a little overcooked. Ranch was fine. 3/5 * Chili cheese fries- nostalgic. Felt like I was in middle school again. Tasted like your school cafeteria chili cheese fries (not a bad thing though). It was very good and they were not stingy on the chili. 4/5 * Blackened salmon with green beans & collard greens with a side of blackened shrimp- salmon was seasoned & cooked to perfection. It was salty with a hint of lemon. The green beans were boring and not seasoned. I had to doctored it up with salt & pepper. Collard greens were good and they definitely put some thought to it. Greens were vinegary. Shrimp was delicious and had a lot of Cajun seasoning to it. 3.5/5 * Peach cobbler with ice cream- so freaking good. Someone's grandma was in the back making this. The crust was more on the doughy side versus flaky but had good texture. The peach didn't taste like it was canned. You can't go wrong with some blue bell vanilla ice cream. 4.5/5 I got to try my friend pecan crusted chicken and it was pretty good & I also got to try some fried okra. Which I will order the next time I'm there. It was lightly battered & the okra itself looked fresh. It also came out piping hot. Overall, it was solid. Idk why I haven't given this spot a try considering I work 3 minutes from the restaurant. Prices are very reasonable & it matches the quality of the food. Ordering is simple, it's counter service. They give you a buzzer and once your food is ready you'll pick it up at the counter. Will I come back? Oh heck yeah. I hope they add some spaghetti with meat sauce to their menu. It's one of my favorite home comfort food.

My steak was black . Could not even eat .They tasted like charcoal, it was a chopped steak that was strategically placed on a baked potato so I could not see it only until I started moving the potato around . Disappointed because I usually have good food there.

Great place for the whole family to grab a meal before a Space Cowboys game! Their menu is pretty extensive but after reading a lot of reviews mentioning burgers I opted for the Diablo burger with side of fries. Great tasting patty with a good amount of kick from the pickled Serrano peppers paired with the Diablo chipotle sauce. I really liked that kids meals came with fruit cup (mandarin oranges), yogurt, or apple sauce. This place has plenty of seatings inside and out. We took a table in the covered dog friendly patio area that was kept at generously cool temps. Beyond the plastic barrier that keeps out the Texas heat you'll find a kids playground and additional tables with umbrellas. Major highlight and props for this place being and encompassing all aspects of family friendly!

Lotsss of options! I feel it was slightly overwhelming but tons of options for everyone. Workers were very friendly and kind during ordering. The portions are huge! 3 people couldn't finish the loaded fries with boneless wings. Lunch time is pretty hectic with lots of people but still able to find a table and it wasn't too loud inside as well. Parking lot is also big so no worries with that!

Back-home style country eatery. Food was good, staff were friendly and I enjoyed having a plethora of sauces/dips to choose from. I'd like to come back on a weekend night during good weather to enjoy the patio.

Again all were good, very nice outdoor seating on a cool night. Very busy, inside and outside made to order but came out Quickly.

It had been many many years since our last visit, and it's nice to see that some things haven't changed. Back when it was just a small restaurant with a tree growing through the middle and no playground, it was already a great place to eat, and it still is today. It remains a wonderful spot for a family meal. The food is tasty, and the service is friendly and quick. It's always nice to return to a place that continues to deliver a good experience.

Came for lunch because of how many solid reviews there are. It must be more of a local favorite because I totally do not understand the hype surrounding any of the food we had. The menu is extensive, which is always a bit of a red flag in terms of the quality of each dish. We grabbed the steak sandwich, which was essentially a piece of meh steak stuck in a hot dog bun with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and a chipotle sauce. Physically difficult to eat. Every sandwich option comes with mayo, which I would preferred to have a bit more variety. We grabbed the burger, which was really just a fine burger of the quality I probably could've made in someone's back yard. The fries were okay... and the side of green beans was actually surprisingly one of the better aspects of the meal but I suspect the way it's cooked diminishes any health benefits you may expect from choosing this over the fries. Also grabbed a side of the gumbo, which was fine. There is a ton of seating. The outdoor area is actually fairly cute, with 3 separate swing seats and a bunch of picnic tables. It was too windy to open the umbrella (we, as well as many other tables, tried and were promptly told to close them). I think if you work in the area it's probably a fine option for brunch but as we were visiting Houston, it certainly was not worth the drive outside the city to venture to.

The Chicken Fried Steak and the Chicken Fried Chicken were phenominal. The two sides that came with each one were just as tasty. Each entree came with two sides. We enjoyed the green beans, fried okra and the fried onion rings. The fried onion rings and the fried okra had a slight upcharge and they were worth it. The white gravy we got was dipping heaven, came in a small container. Most places just pour a dab on the steak, makes the steak a little soggy and they don't give enough.....another thing this place does right! We've been here before...14 years ago....why did we take so long to come back for more of these goodies!? They have a nice playground.

This place has been bookmarked for the longest time and finally made it out. Plenty of parking and country feel. They have a little play slide area outdoors for kids to play (though watch out for the woodchips!). Once inside, you can see the menu and order at the counter before seating. Country fried steak and burger was solid. They do have some benches in an extended area of the restaurant that's covered. Overall, a solid option in the area.

What are some of the important details for the TUESDAY Evening Steak special ? what is shown on web site is vague ... imo

16 ounces of juicy rib eye steak cooked to perfection on a open fire. Your choice of sides and soup of the day or a salad!

Are there items on the menu that are both gluten and soy free?

They DO have gluten free hamburger buns!

    Is this place pet friendly?

Yes. You can have your dogs in the front and back patio.

Is this a good venue for large parties of 15-18 or more people? Such as an adult birthday dinner. Or will the space be too cramped?

It will work in door or out door . But you should call the manager to reserve space and tables. The friendly folks there will work with you.

You walk to the front of the house where Angie immediately greets you with all the southern hospitality on the planet. Teams are smashing whole potatoes into fries and the place is BUZZING with activity. Clean including bathrooms. Food was ready faster than you can expect and steaming hot. First bite and you're like likely one of the best cheesesteaks I've had and I'm a fan of them. I did not get spicey but will be back to try it and possibly tomorrow. Toasted Kaiser roll crunched at first bite. Just an awesome sandwhich. So glad I found this hidden Houston gem. Now I have to work out an extra thirty minutes at the gym because this will be a once a week stop. Well done to this team. VERY IMPRESSED.

At the drive-thru, the interaction felt rushed and somewhat dismissive. There was no greeting at the window, and when I requested an extra honey mustard for my 5-count chicken tenders (since only one is typically provided), I was told there would be an additional charge. I didn't mind paying because I wanted enough sauce for my meal, but the tone felt a bit irritated. After placing my order, I pulled forward to wait. A different employee brought my food and was very pleasant and courteous, which I appreciated. However, when I checked my order, the extra sauce I paid for was not included. I had to go back through the line to address it. The original employee did provide the missing sauce at that point, and her demeanor was more positive during that interaction. The main issue came at the end of my meal, when I found a hair in the bottom of my fry basket. That completely ruined my experience. Overall, I've had better visits in the past, but based on this experience, I'm hesitant about returning.

We ordered the tikka chicken masala paratha and chicken biriyani with a side of fries. The paratha was packed with protein, but unfortunately was hard and dry. The sauce/gravy within the wrap was decent, but just couldn't save the chicken. The biriyani was ok. Chicken was decent but the rice lacked something that made it taste like restaurants quality. The fries were the most disappointing - they were stale and tasted overcooked, sort of like when you reheat day old fries. There's an indicator when your child doesn't care for any fries. Overall meal was about $30. We tipped and cleaned up after ourselves. Not the best counter service, but not bad. The interior was ok. They had Mr. Bean playing on TV, so that brought back some old childhood nostalgia feels. Unlikely that we will be back, but if so, I'll try the burger next time.
