Belgian waffle, side of breakfast sausage, Overnighter sandwich, Red Pepper Gouda soup
    Carissa C.

Hubby and I had a great lunch at Oliver's yesterday. My friend recommended this spot to us, and it was a very enjoyable time. I got the half sandwich and half soup combo, and opted for the Overnighter sandwich (pulled pork) and Red Pepper Gouda soup. This combo was amazing, came out piping hot, and very flavorful. The portion size wasn't overly massive, however it was the ideal lunch-sized portion. Hubby got the Belgian waffle and a size of breakfast sausage. It was a hearty-sized portion and he especially enjoyed the homestyle flavor of the breakfast sausage. The restaurant is counter service and is a fairly small place, so I'd recommend visiting on a weekday if possible. They are closed every Sunday and Monday. We'd definitely return if in the area!

Tucked away in an unassuming strip mall off Cartwright road, has this hidden gem of Missouri City. Lovely family owned restaurant with a heartwarming reason for the name. Food can take a while on the weekends but it's really good. It's self seat, but you order at the counter. Make sure you know what to order first before walking to the counter.

What can I say. The food is just wonderful period!! This is one of my go to restaurants to bring my out of town guests for a casual breakfast in the neighborhood. After several visits since my initial review, I have a better appreciation & understanding of the owner's role of taking orders & efficiently working to seat the guests. From the build your own breakfast: Pancakes- I challenge you to try them & compare them to any other pancake that you thought was the best. These will become your new 'best pancake you ever had'. Biscuit is butter-laden and soft & moist. Homemade sausage full of good flavor with a hint of pepper. Eggs full of black pepper, grits creamy good. They even have chalupa hot sauce. Gotta love that! Coffee had an interesting toasted flavor, very robust. I drank it black. Nice ceramic cups. The coffee stayed warm for quite awhile without a refill. I highly recommend you give Oliver's a try!!

I did a small catering order for a PickleBall league last week! They were super accommodating, and all the food was so carefully packaged and delicious. Just fabulous!

This is the 2nd time we've come and the food is still fantastic. It's a quiet little diner. The service is spot on. You still order at the counter and your food is brought out to your table. I had biscuits and gravy with a side of scrambled and hubby had shrimp and grits. Both were good enough that we would order them again. We also shared a pancake which was also really good. But we won't because we will order something else next time.

Service: 5/5 Food 3/5 My Order: Pancakes Grits Egg Orange Juice I was in between choosing the French toast and pancakes, I opted for the pancakes. I saw a lot of orders for the French Toast. I should have tried the French toast. The pancakes were fried to perfection, however, the oil used was not to my liking. It says butter, but I'm not sure what type of butter was used. I only ate a portion of the pancake. The egg was cooked to perfection, they added pepper already when they brought it to me. The grits came with butter added, the consistency was very fluffy and not grainy like a lot of other places. I did not care for it. I really wanted to like Oliver's. I do plan on giving them a try. I believe Oliver is the person at the register and he was very friendly. I wish more options for non pork were available for breakfast meat. Also, for the coffee they did not have milk alternative options, which is why I got the orange juice. I do love that he hires possible young culinary students. They provided great service. The ambiance was relaxing as they played jazz and the seating was comfortable. Green is the themed color and I observed a lot of families coming in and out. I do plan on trying again, maybe lunch.

Super busy on a weekday lunch time. Order at the counter and food came out pretty quickly. The overnighter sandwich was savory and had a umami (maybe the onions?) flavor that was so good! Would definitely order again! the Ollie sandwich was also good but nothing that would make me crave it. Also their ice tea is nice and refreshing. Overall, very friendly service and yummy food!

Had Brunch with friends. I ordered the True grits and shrimps. My ordered The Oliver 2 Eggs + Bacon or Sausage + Grits or Potatoes + Toast and the taco and the strawberry shortcake. Everything was good. I kind of wish I had ordered the tacos because they looked really good.

The Gravy Train = a small batch of goodness

Oliver's Gourmet is a hidden gem in Missouri City, TX that sits in a strip center of other businesses. I found this place on Yelp looking for an in-between location for my friend and I to meet for brunch. The Yelpers were right! It did NOT disappoint! We both got The Gravy Train (Southern style biscuit & homemade sausage gravy) and it was delicious!! The only con is the restaurant is small. It's counter service so you have to order before you can sit and it was packed!! Unfortunately, you have to wait for people to leave in order for them to make room for you. The employee and possible owner was nice and helpful in being able to find a place for us to sit. Thankfully we got a table to ourselves because some customers had to share a table with other customers! I've very happy they are doing so well but the wait staff (two people) looked very stressed running around to get tables cleaned off and deliver food to the tables. I'm sure if they had the room to expand this place, they would. The line consistently stayed to the door, for good reason! So if you have time to wait around, I would highly recommend eating here. And it's always wonderful to support local establishments!

BEST BREAKFAST IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! I was visiting family from out of state and they raved about this place so of course I had to add it to my itinerary. The menu was so simple so I wasn't sure what to expect but let me tell you - everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection! i ordered the sausage, egg and cheese biscuit with a side of grits and potatoes. I was told the grits didn't come with any cheese or anything so I was a bit hesitant but guy who took my order said it would be the best grits I've ever had, and he was correct. The biscuit on my sandwich was so buttery and moist and the sausage was very juicy and had a nice crisp on the outside. The potatoes were all very tasty! And not to mention, it was absolutely stunning inside. This will now be my go-to place everything I visit from LA (my current residency). I also loved the decor and prayer wall near the bathroom.

Smooth jazz and gourmet pancakes on a Saturday morning. Found this spot and enjoyed one of the best breakfast meals in Fort Bend. Oliver' Gourmet is an average size, contemporary cool black/white decor in a small shopping center. The food is ordered at the counter with a large menu that creates a time challenge when you are holding up the line trying to make a decision. Afterwards you find a table and wait for some incredible food to be delivered to your table. I had the Ultimate Breakfast that had very flavorful sausage (homemade?), potatoes and scrambled eggs with a gourmet pancake. The pancake is absolutely the star of the meal.

Hidden Gem! You ever been to a restaurant where no matter how full you are you gotta finish it - this is that spot! The breakfast was phenomenal. I didn't taste one thing I didn't like, so let me give you the rundown. Bacon was really good-sausage was great. Breakfast potatoes were grilled and no extra seasoning was needed. I'm more of an instant grits person, but their grits will be apart of my order next time. THE BISCUIT! It's pre cut, both side have been buttered and thrown on the skillet, but it wasn't hard at all. This was one of the softest moist biscuits I've ever had. Now of course I had to have something a little sweet. The pancake is crispy on the edges and soft on the center and the flavor reminds me of a funnel cake. Even the tap water was good. It's a smaller restaurant, but you can reserve tables ahead of time and there's a cute story on the wall explaining who Oliver is. The service was good and everything came out quickly. Thank me later for this one.

Really good food! Cute place. Nice people. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommend! My parents had been here before and wanted us to go with them for breakfast. I was reluctant because their track record isn't the best but the online reviews were good too. This is an instance where the reviewers and my parents did not lead me astray. The place has a cute cafe vibe. Everything we had was delicious. Gravy train - a super fluffy melt in your mouth biscuit with creamy and tasty sausage gravy Breakfast club sandwich - Possibly the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. I will note that the side of potatoes are the only thing that were average. Not bad, but given how amazing everything else here was, the potatoes seemed meh in comparison. Belgian waffle - a very solidly good waffle The sweet Paris - the combination of mascarpone with the jalapeño pepper bacon jam with French toast is sooo good.

I love that this location is bright and cheery with a clean exterior and interior, as it is in a newly built area. Parking is aplenty in this plaza. The drive thru is also much welcomed, as the times I've driven thru the service is fast. Being a fast casual concept, they have plenty of seating inside and counter service. I typically take my order to-go and ordering in-app or at the counter have been good experiences. I like that you can order anything from a single scoop of chicken salad to a full meal and even tubs of your favorite flavor. I've tried almost every single flavor on the menu, and have come to a conclusion that my favorites are the Cranberry Kelli (with cranberries and almonds), the Fruity Fran (with apples, grapes, and pineapples), and the Classic Carol (with celery and secret seasoning). I can't say I didn't enjoy some of their savory flavors like Barbie Q (sweet yet smoky) or Sassy Scotty (ranch, bacon, cheddar), but do find them a bit too salty. They always include a nice amount of crackers to go with all the food so that's a plus. As for their quick chicks (tubs of chicken salad), they have been great for making meals out of it at home or for work. However, I've noticed that they have quite a short refrigerator life and have gone sour multiple times, over the course of just a few days. I also have seen bits of chicken that have a lot of off-putting texture (stringy, chewy, inedible, stretchy, white). So yes, you'll know its real chicken and it is fresh made/packed, but too much gristle or cartilage is gross. There are also bones in the mixture that are roughly an inch long...ouch. If you're serving some to your kids, be careful! Service at this location is super friendly and efficient! Great customer service and they'll have your order ready in minutes.

Soon as you enter, you head straight to the counter to order. From there, you're given a number and choose your seat. Booth and table options are available. On a Thursday afternoon, the place wasn't busy but not empty, which gave my Mom and I the opportunity to catch up without a noisy dining room. The food came out fresh and hot and for the price, we were surprised by the portion since its was the $10 HH burger and fries. The fountain drinks were interesring as well. DS does not have Coke or Pepsi products. They have similiar flavors you would find with those brands. I enjoyed the Mexican Coke. It seemed to not be as fizzy aa your own well know caffenated Compadres but still carried a great flavor. Let me not skip over the dessert! Mom LOVED the pecan pie which she states had whole pecans instead of pieces. I did not wven notice that she had been getting pieces of the pie as we talked. Half of it was gone when we left. That means is pretty scrumptous! I had enough willpower to eat my chocolate chip cookie when I got home and it was worth the wait! Not only is the cookie huge, but the semi sweet chocolate and sea salt is chef's kiss. Grat combo of both worlds. Combine that with the crunchy outisude and chewy, gooey interior and this is one of the best cookies I've tasted in a long time. So glad to dish all this goodness to Yelpers and remind them of another gem in West U that will not only give you a great place to get a bite but satisfy that sweet tooth.

The soup tasted as good as it looked. Some croutons or a piece of garlic bread would have been nice, but outside of that, this starter couldn't have been better. The Nutella French Toast was similarly well done. I love French Toast and I love Nutella. So this was a match made in heaven. Along with some sliced strawberries and some blackberries, I was happy I went with a breakfast dish for dinner (they serve brunch all day). The prices are affordable for the quality of the food. My only complaint? The portion sizes are pretty small. Case in point: two slices of French toast when most places will give you four. Pro tip: Join their club for discounts.

The main highlight was the 5 star service by Eric! He's enough to make me want to go back! I'll definitely ask for him every time! 2nd highlight is that cornbread because whew...bussin. Pair it with the collard greens and that's a five-star combo all day. I was undecided on what to order, so I went with the cajun stuffed chicken exactly as it comes, along with mac & cheese and collard greens. The meal wasn't bad, but it wasn't that good either. The chicken, I'd probably skip next time, I took most to go and it went bad cause I couldn't do it. Mac wasn't anything to write home about either but again, them greens and cornbread are absolutely getting reordered. My friend ordered the key lime pie and enjoyed it, so that seemed to be another solid choice. But back to the real MVP of the visit which was our server, Eric. He made menu suggestions without being pushy, kept my glass full the entire meal, was kind, patient, and anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask. That level of service is becoming harder to find, and it definitely elevated the experience. Overall, the food landed somewhere in the middle for me, but Eric's service easily pushed this visit to four stars. I'll definitely be back...mainly for that cornbread lol.
