Having been around almost 20 years these folks understand cheesesteaks. They have a menu that includes loaded fries, onion rings, chicken strips, burgers (including Vegan) and of course cheesesteaks. You walk to the front of the house where Angie immediately greets you with all the southern hospitality on the planet. Teams are smashing whole potatoes into fries and the place is BUZZING with activity. Clean including bathrooms. Food was ready faster than you can expect and steaming hot. First bite and you're like likely one of the best cheesesteaks I've had and I'm a fan of them. I did not get spicey but will be back to try it and possibly tomorrow. Toasted Kaiser roll crunched at first bite. Just an awesome sandwhich. So glad I found this hidden Houston gem. This was my second or third time visiting Tornado Burger, and unfortunately this particular visit was disappointing. At the drive-thru, the interaction felt rushed and somewhat dismissive. There was no greeting at the window, and when I requested an extra honey mustard for my 5-count chicken tenders (since only one is typically provided), I was told there would be an additional charge. I didn't mind paying because I wanted enough sauce for my meal, but the tone felt a bit irritated. After placing my order, I pulled forward to wait. A different employee brought my food and was very pleasant and courteous, which I appreciated. However, when I checked my order, the extra sauce I paid for was not included. I had to go back through the line to address it. The original employee did provide the missing sauce at that point, and her demeanor was more positive during that interaction. The main issue came at the end of my meal, when I found a hair in the bottom of my fry basket. That completely ruined my experience. The spicy burger patty had good flavor. The menu recommended to order the double. I didn't but next time I will, in order to have a better meat patty to bun ratio. I ordered grilled onions. They were barely warm. No visible brown edges. I like mine really brown, so next time, I am order my burger with no onions. Their bun was buttery and grilled perfectly. However, 1 bun was dry. Tornado burger is burger joint that has a drive thru. I think they're known for their spicy beef patty cheeseburgers. I was interested to try that as I don't think a spicy beef patty before! I got my order to go, so I was trying to fries on the way home and they were hot and fresh. I believe they prepare their own potatoes for fry while they weren't the crispy fries I've ever had. They did have that Home made look and feel with just the right amount of salt. My first bite of the cheeseburger took me back to the 1970s. There is a taste that reminds me of the way burgers tasted in the 70s when you went to a neighborhood burger stand placed your order. They then begin cooking. It was super fresh and yes, it wasn't available immediately because the meat had to cook. The lettuce is fresh and crisp so is the tomato so if you're in a hurry for your food, this is not the place to go! However, if you want a hot tasty made to order burger for you personally, you should check this place out. I got my order to go, I wanted to eat it at home. The service was good. It takes time when you're cooking every order after it's taken by the counter person. The inside of the restaurant can seat quite a few people in addition they have an outside seating area for those few days a year when it's actually nice enough to sit outside and eat. Fries are just as good as they always were but the quality of the burger has become disappointing. The patties are grainy and seem either frozen or just not of a great quality. Problem is that relative to the cost there are many better options in the area, most of which don't require you to park after ordering in the drive thru. Can't imagine I'll be back here. read more

Yes, when you want a break from the usual "fast food", this is the place to go. The service is quick and friendly, the food is made to order, fresh, and tasty. The decor is old school diner (in a good way). It's simple, and no frills, but I love that they season everything. The meat, the fries, all have a distinct flavor, and it's all good. Their burgers are legit! Burger price is wallet friendly. Burgers are on the smaller side so get two (haha). Their fries were bit soft but it's fresh cut potatoes you you can tell, without too much salt or seasoning. Though I tend to prefer crispy fires, I really enjoyed them. Passed this spot and decided to try it. It reminds of of a place back home. The food is amazing. Not gonna hold ya. The food is really good. I got a chicken Philly combo. The fries are somewhat Cajun and they are delicious. Like any fries, hurry and eat them as they go bad quick. The customer service can use some work, but, overall, I'll give it a 4 star rating. I only went through the drive thru and I got a picture of the menu being the menu they have on the Yelp app doesn't have a the full menu. Ok so this review is from like a year ago. Husband and I were out cruising on my side of town. Stopped in for dinner. Front room was closed for paint, but didn't care. Love the diner like setting.
