This is not a authentic Mexican restaurant. It's gringo menu type with hard shell tacos and cheeseburgers being ordered more then authentic menu items. The booth upholstery is all cut up otherwise ambiance is basic colorful establishment. Needs redoing. The would not mix and match tacos ( couldn't do a taco plate with three different authentic meats. Just had blah boring basic meat options for single tacos- like ground beef, shredded steak of chicken. I ended up getting pork tacos which came out like tacos bells hard shell tacos. Was not expecting it so difficult to get some decent talks. The waiter was sweet enough to switch out to Chile verde on corn tortilla with cilantro onion. It helped. They were ok nothing bad but nothing great at all. Doubt we will be back. Michelada was good! They had no white wine for my partner. Asked for child relleno as side and two glasses waters. Had to ask a second time and only received one water. Then ask a different waiter for another glass. Decided to forgo the Chile relleno anyways. Figured probably for best. Ordered tamales Togo and sample Tommorow for a snack. Will update on that. Also the flan shown in another reviewers good is no longer an Option. The waiter he left something to be desired. The hubs and I visited our son and his family in Missouri this week. We grabbed dinner at this Mexican restaurant in Harrisonville and wow this the real deal almost, almost as good as where we go in Phoenix. The service was da bomb, so patient and helpful very courteous. There were 7 of us they got us in right away and kept coming back to make sure we had everything. It is not a small restaurant you could have quite the party here. The place was pretty spacious so no trip into other tables or people. So we got the traditional chips and salsa. The the salsa came in your own bottles but we added white cheese sauce which just made the meal even more epic. My granddaughter found this restaurant and it is a find. So we got chicken fajitas, which are the best, also the grandkids got steak nachos and steak quesadillas. The parents got spicy tacos where they prepare the meat in a spicy sauce and stuff the meat in taco soft taco shells. All I can say is I want more. We will be back. We ate so fast I did not get enough pictures to do this place justice. If in the area or taking a road trip come on by you will not be disappointed. read more

After a fun Sunday night out with friends... The choices for a sit down dinner that had food that met the dietary requirements of our party were limited, but our friends found this place. Basic Mexican decor, but the host/server was so peppy he kept us in the holiday mood. The salsa was unique and very thin but flavorful. The cheese sauce was typical. The guac was really unique with lots of cilantro and tasted different than any we've had. It was delicious. The serving sizes were more than generous!! Solid spot for Mexican food and margaritas (which were delicious and dangerous because they were strong but I barely tasted the alcohol) . I got the steak tacos al carbon which came in a huge plate with three tacos, refried beans and rice. I was able to make two meals out of this plate since complimentary chips and salsa were provided when you first sit down, and the chips were refilled as needed (i would recommend requesting hot salsa as well). I was passing through town today so decided to stop for a couple of tacos and a beer. Only about 3 brands of beer available. Tacos came and were so greasy, there was half inch of grease on my plate. Salsa was watery with a few vegetables and tasted bad. I asked for the enchilada of my combo to go when i ordered. It was brought to my table between 2 paper plates with aluminum foil over top to cover edges. Good thing i checked it, would have had grease all over my car with my long drive home. The carne asada for great steak; tacos al pastor or pork carnitas, like eating homemade pork roast; and a huge variety of chicken based dishes are sure to please. Normally I go between the chipotle chicken, carne asada or the Cancun platter. I didn't mention the seafood dishes! Cancun platter has shrimp, crab and chicken and is spectacular. There is also a bacon wrapped shrimp platter The platings are ginormous with hefty helpings of rice and refried beans. Save room for dessert because the sopapilla is tremendous. This is a pretty good and inexpensive family Mexican restaurant. Chips: Thick and crunchy, with a toasty flavor Salsa: Both the mild and the hot taste fresh, but the mild is somewhat bland. The hot salsa could be a little richer but had the flavors the mild salsa was lacking. Cheese dip: Pretty basic, but rich and creamy. Stayed warm throughout the entire meal, which is a big plus. I was part of a group of thirteen people, none of whom had ever been here before. Everyone ordered something different, and everyone liked their food and devoured their platters. Or, at least as much as they could -- the portions are huge! I had the Fiesta Fajitas. It was a little skimpy on the shrimp but was plentiful in the other ingredients. It didn't have a strong flavor, but the meat was tender and juicy and the assembled fajitas tasted quite good. Service was very good, especially considering that we descended on the place near closing time. Refills came quickly and we were checked on frequently. Every order came out right.
