So here I am 2 weeks later trying to call them and you cant. They won't pick up the phone. So basically I have to go to the store every so often to see if its in. Horrible Horrible customer service. I am not sure who current manager is on Monday night but I was browsing HDTVs and the store was closing. He was really genuinely nice (not used to this from most best buy managers) They had open box model in the back and dragged it out and set it up. I felt really bad keeping them after and they told me not to worry about it. He even went to grabbed a blu ray player to show me the image quality. Again I wish all best buy managers and employees were as accommodating as these people were. It didnt really feel like they were just trying to make a sale or hit their numbers for the day, im sure they were but at least it didnt come off like that. After they showed it to me I felt like I completely wasted their time though becauseI didn't buy it, but they didn't make me feel bad at all. The one guy even said "hey it's fine I didn't have to do as much closing work now!" Which I thought was funny. Anyway wanted to leave a good review because it's the least I could do for being "that guy" tonight that makes peope stay late and doesn't buy anything. The one star is for trying to explain why they couldn't transfer my music. I brought my new laptop in for them to basically transfer iTunes over with all my music from my old laptop to my new laptop. I agreed to some simple programs as well like virus and word. I come back to no music being found on my new laptop. I paid an enormous amount of money just to get mainly my music transferred and in the end there is not one song on my new laptop. Worse geek squad ever. The worst costumer service ever. I was told I was going to get my appliances in two days, and that they will call me. It never happened . I contacted the location here in Algonquin to speak to a manager, I got put on hold for 10 min and after they told me the manager will contact me little later. It never happened. I bought a Bluetooth device on bestbuy.com for store pickup. After receiving an email that it was ready I visited the store. I gave them my name, the employee went to look for the device. I was asked for the credit card AND my ID. I was also asked if I wanted to buy the extended warranty even though i opted out online. Overall, they should have simply scanned the email bar code, asked for my ID and handed me my purchase. Inefficient! You need a more convenient process. read more

Was looking for a pc. Their online inventory status showed 3 in store of the make/mode that I wanted. Got to the store and they had none in stock. There was zero in stock of the next upgrade. I found a different model and paid $499.00 for the hp laptop. The sales person promised me a $50 discount at check out if I applied for the Best Buy credit card. At check out they told me the discount was in store credit and I had to use it at the store. Then I had the computer for 17 days when the thing froze up. I couldn't turn it off, the screens were locked, a system pop up was frozen on the screen so I took it to their geek squad. They said the manufacturer built the system in a way that can sometimes cause this issue. The store would not cover the problem, they would only cover any issue if it was within 15 days of the purchase. I was charged $200.00 to get it fixed. read more

Went with my father to purchase a computer he had seen over the weekend. It was on sale for $509 this weekend and we went back today and the computer wasn't on sale. The gm wasn't willing to give us the sale price and gave us some long speech on how they don't make any money on computers. I was told this after I asked to speak to the manger and he sent someone else out to tell me. They did give us twenty dollars off, but writing company policy and how the computer manufacturers give them money back when it's on sale. My family and I went to buy a washer, dryer, oven and dish washer. We were greeted by a young guy who asked what we were there for and told us where the appliances were. We waited about ten minutes before looking for someone to help. I spoke to a man in the pc department who told me someone would be there in a moment, fifteen minutes later a heavy set man walks right up to my family, without saying a word, then continued around and past us to the warehouse. At this point I'm very upset so I walk with my son to the front security and greeters where three representatives are standing talking. I tell the security that my family and I have been waiting for help and that I have spoken to three people who didn't come to help so if no one was in the appliances in five minutes I'm going to take my business elsewhere. At this point Mikey, who was the representative I was speaking to, tells me to calm down and that when we came in we were specifically told that if we need assistance we need to come back to the front and ask for someone to come to the appliances. Fortunately the gentleman he was speaking with at the front named Ron took the initiative to help a customer. I attempting to buy a washer, dryer and dishwasher but at this point my 3-year-old and 6-year-old have been stuck in a retail store for the better part of 45 minutes so I took my business elsewhere for the oven. Even when I was leaving I walked right past Mikey once more who stared off into the distance intentionally did not say a word to me but the people right behind me he said have a good day too. It's honestly embarrassing that a representative would feel it's appropriate to treat a family of four spending thousands of dollars like they are a bunch of incompetent morons, I don't work for Best buy and I haven't been to a Best buy since covid started so I expect when I walked in to spend close to about $6,000 that I would be greeted and helped within a timely manner like my money that I'm spending their matters but the worst part of it all is that when I come to an associate with a problem I'm told to calm down, I'm put in my place like I work for him. read more

The geek squad inside of the Algonquin best buy is horrible. I purchased a laptop and paid the $80 to have them transfer my pictures from my old laptop that crashed. The guy said oh this really simple. Ok great it wont take long I bought the laptop in the afternoon I go in the next after noon to pick it up when he said it would be ready. If there was anything lower they would get it. I went in there looking for a golfers gift for a party. I wanted a watch type GPS as a gift. One of their employees sold me something he said was exactly what I was looking for. Turns out it wasn't even close. We never even opened the box. I took the item back after the party and because I was 17 days after purchase they wouldn't refund my money even though their employee recommended the product, actually misrepresented the product. Would give ZERO stars if that was an option! This is for the Best Buy in Algonquin Il. I Purchased a TV with delivery and set up on Friday, Feb 10, 2017. We were told the delivery and installation would be 2 days later on a SUNDAY (Feb 12). We asked the salesman to confirm since it was a SUNDAY and he assured us it was correct. We had a delivery window of 8am-12pm. When no one showed up I called the Best Buy where the TV was purchased. First it took, over 6 minutes to even get a person on the call, then another 3+ minutes to talk to someone that would "help". When I finally got someone, I was told that the person that would set it up (Geek squad) did not work on Sundays. I told them that the receipt and the email we received clearly stated SUNDAY, FEB 12, 2017. He told me I should call Geek squad to talk with them. During that conversation, they didn't even have record of the sale. But told me that someone had called on Saturday to say they would not be coming on Sunday - funny how they had no record, but had a phone number?! I know they did not call, as I would have received the call - I even checked my call log online to make sure I didn't miss the call. Now I have to call Best Buy again - another 7 minutes before talking to someone. Asked to talk to a Manager. He said the soonest they could come out what Wednesday and he had no explanation as to why a Sunday delivery/Setup was offered. After some back and forth - I got a full refund and went to Abt instead - got the TV for $175 cheaper! WILL NEVER GO BACK TO ANY BEST BUY AGAIN AND MAKING SURE EVERYONE I KNOW IS AWARE OF THIS TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! read more

Needed a quick assessment and fix on a pre-installed remote start. They provided me with laser focused help and didn't try to over explain or up-charge me for services that weren't necessary. The blond girl working by the laptops asked what I needed I said 2 laptops of this kind (pointing at the laptop) and she said ok...????? What does I need 2 of this kind mean??? Stare at me with a blank stare??? I had to actually say "can I please have 2 laptops like this? I want to buy 2 of them today" She takes the paper goes up a latter looks at 2 boxes and comes back telling me that they are out of those laptops because the system might be a little backed up so it's probably showing 2 and there is zero in stock... lmao what idiot tells you that after spending less than 1 minute of the search of the laptops? Didn't even have the courtesy to look them up in that system!! How does she know the system is showing 2 in stock?? I was ready to blow up!! But calmed myself down and just walked around to look for the laptops myself and found 3 not 2!! As the blonde with the integrated stock system in her brain had told me. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY ELECTRONIC HERE!!! We purchased a new Samsung 65' 4 K TV for nearly $800 only to realize close to 60 days later that they will not exchange it due to a shadow on the right side of the screen. After being on hold waiting for a "manager" Courtney for nearly 20 minutes I was directed to an 800 number to troubleshoot my tv. I read the terrible reviews online and spoke to numerous people about the terrible customer service and downward slope this store is on. Well jokes on me, it's all true. I have never experienced such terrible customer service from a store. There are numerous other places that will stand behind their products....this place isn't one of them. The bestbuy in Algonquin is buy far the worst bestbuy I have ever been to. From the employees all the way to the checkout it was the worst expiernence. I had gone there to get a pedestal for my LG Dryer to match my washer. I had called ahead to make sure that they had this color in stock and set up in store pickup. When I got there the dryer was not ready to go when I had gotten there. And when I had gotten there they seemed as if I hadn't even talked to the store when I clearly asked if this was the bestbuy of Algonquin. After I asked the employee to grab the pedestal from the back it took him a good 20 minutes just to comeback and tell me that they had none in the back and that they would give me a floor model. And as thru all this I couldn't stand the employee that was no older than 30 calling a 42 year old "man" as if I was one of his buddy's on the street. After another good 10 minutes of me and my son standing in the washer and dryer section like jerk offs the man comes to take the pedestal back to wrap it. Then I noticed that it had coffee stains on it I asked the man if he could wipe it off for me with a rag when he took it back there. After I had left the store I came home and opened the pedestal from its bubble wrap to see that the pedastal hadn't even been touched and that it had still had coffee stains on it. Even after I got the pedestal. I had more problems at the register to as they had problems getting my reward zone coupon to activate to my purchase so that took another 10 minutes to figure out for the kids at the register. So in all the purchase at the best but took a hour at least to do even after i scheduled a in-store pickup with them. By far the WORST EXPIERENCE. I will never return to this best buy again .
