Horrible customer service and employee knowledge. I bought a part for my water heater and was told the part wasn't returnable when I bought it. They relied on a small sticker on one side of the box that I never even saw. The manager was a as!@#$%!!!! The employee should alert you that the part is not returnable. I will never shop this store again and would recommend you dont as well as they don't train their employees to give you the information needed. If I knew it wasn't refundable I never would have bought it. read more

I'll forgo any other hardware store. This is a well run business. I had an issue with some deck wash spilling in my shirt at the store and they reimbursed me for the amount it cost(brought in a receipt of course) Met the owner. I've been going to this Ace for years. Unless I need something they don't carry, I do not go to any other store. I do a lot of up cycling and usually need advice. My favorite guy is Scott. He's always willing to listen and help me with whatever crazy project I have going on. He never loses his patience with me and has gone above and beyond to make sure I understand what I'm doing. All of the staff is pleasant and I'm always greeted at the door. They're all very knowledgeable but if they don't have an answer, they'll find another team member that does. Their Valspar paint is excellent and I use it for almost everything I do. Sometimes their prices are a little higher than the big box stores but the CustomerService makes it worth the few extra bucks. There's always plenty of parking too. I try to support small businesses, largely because they provide the knowledge and service that is either unavailable or hard to find in the big box locations. I came hear needing to buy some conduit for a replacement bathroom exhaust fan I'm working on. I expected I would have to buy an entire length, but was hoping that they could cut it for me so that I can fit in my car ( they come in 10 ft lengths). I didn't want it cut to the size, I was going to do that myself on the job. They have what looks like a cutting station with conduit cutters and a hack saw in back. But when I asked if they could cut the conduit, I was rudely told no. I explained I wanted to buy the whole piece and even more rudely told no again. Ok fine, never coming here again. The big box stores have no service either, but at least they have reasonable prices. read more

Probably the worst hardware store I ever went to. Before going to this store I called to make sure they could help me with threading a pipe the lady said yes. So I am a disabled vet got in my scooter went down to store went in and from the time I entered no one had knowledge of any thing, the older employees were walking down aisles dodging customers. I finally was approached by a nice person who asked if they could assist me. While she was trying to talk to me there was this guy wiggling and jumping while the person was talking and trying to communicate with me. I asked him if there was anything wrong and he pulled the person away that was helping me, she came back and said she could not help me any longer because pipe to be cut was not purchased there. By this time the guy who pulled her away had a goofy grin said he was ex service member I mentioned my father was the same. With that I turned around and he said see you again! I replied I don't think so! The store should know that young people do a great job, all he did was blame the young girl who took my call and the nice young person who helped me with courtesy. As for me it's time to use the lower priced competition I recommend all vets do the same this store has nothing to offer vets. read more

Ziegler's Ace Hardware is normally a great place to shop for hardware, as long as the item you need is in stock in the store. I have shopped here for years and always been very satisfied. So, this review is specifically about ordering online from Ace.com for pick up at the local store. I placed my online order and received an email saying I would be contacted when my order arrived and gave an estimated delivery date. I was pleasantly surprised when I got a phone call the next day, which was much sooner than the delivery date, saying my order was in. I arrived at the store, whereupon someone said "Oh, this is a store transfer, not an online order." I showed them the email invoice. They finally let me sign for it and take it home. When I got home, I got a phone call saying I had not paid for the item, when I clearly had an electronic receipt showing that I paid online. Then today, three days later, they called and said my order had arrived. When I went back to the store, it was the same item and the woman basically called me a liar and said I must have called them first three days ago. I replied "No, your people called me.", whereupon she curtly said "Well, there it is", and basically dismissed me. BOTTOM LINE: Don't waste your time ordering online from Ziegler's Ace Hardware, because they do not know their online orders from a hole in the ground! read more
