Honestly not sure why this places get so much hate. Sure, it's another big box store. You probably know more than the average employee that works there. Anytime l've gone in, it's never been a terrible experience. If you do research on what you want and stock check it ahead of time, it's pretty painless. It's one of the last tech stores we have and the only place to physically see/experience big ticket tech items. Geek squad I called with an AppleWatch issue. I was told they could assist. I made an appointment. When I arrived I told them VERBATIM (because that's how my brain works) what I had said on the phone, but was told they could not assist me. I asked to speak to the manager. Instead the associate went to the back and then returned and told me his manager said the same thing. I left in disgust and frustration. I would give zero stars if I could. We shopped around for the best prices and on Apple computers prices don't vary much so we went with service and Leon at Best Buy closed the deal for us. Recommend you seriously avoid this store, they treat their customers like crap. I made the mistake of buying more than one computer from this store in the last year and printers as well. On my last visit, the store was basically empty (zero customers) and they still treated anyone there poorly. I doubt it will be long before the online shoppers make this store obsolete. I bought a Samsung TV from Best Buy on line as it is hard for me to get out and I knew I wanted the same T V my brother has. Well now all the TV will do is a black and white picture. They said it would cost $85.00 for the GeekSquad to come out and if need be replace it. I said ok. They sent me the link to pay for it. So I used the same Chase card I bought it with and she told me they don't accept Chase cards of any kind. She asked me if I had another card. I didn't I don't like credit cards. She said you will have to go into your local store and pay for it first. I told her I'm disabled and I can't just go to the store and pay for it that's why I bought on line in the first place. Bakersfield Best Buy On Feb 24, 2026 Chris Moar came to repair my Sony Home Theater Sound System at my home in Wasco. He was very knowledgeable and resolved all needed issues. He was very patient and thorough. He answered all questions promptly. Chris explained everything to the littlest detail. Which is rare today. He's a very excellent employee all around. Geek Squad - I really don't understand what takes so long at this place. I needed a simple and already diagnosed (via the iphone's internal diagnostics) battery replacement. I setup an appointment in my iphone app. I show up 5 minutes before and still had to wait 15 minutes to be served. Jase the tech pretty much did not talk to me and just started running diagnostics. I guess this is so they can prove that the repair was justified. This takes 30 minutes. The iphone repair guy had to leave early for the day. Great! Now I have to come back in the morning. after everything is setup, it still takes another 30 minutes to check out. He told me the repair is like 30 mins but they have to quote 2 hours to be safe. Fine. I know from checking online it is 30-45 mins. I return the following morning right when they open because it is supposed to be a simple drop off. Nope! Trenton takes 20 minutes to verify that they actually have the part (glad he did, but why did it take so long). Then when I confirm the amount of time it will take, he says, it will be 3 hours if I am lucky. I don't know if this is because they are behind, or which guy actually knows what he is talking about. He says they have to heat it up and remove adhesive, and a bunch of other stuff. I already checked online, and it is supposed to be pretty simple. I don't know who to trust, and don't really care. I just want my phone fixed, I am willing to pay, and I don't want to make 4 trips, and wait a min of 30 mins each time, when I have an appointment. I will update this when I pick up the phone. At this point I avoided going the the Apple store because it is in the mall, but I am pretty sure they would have fixed it faster in one trip, thus saving me 2 hours of my life. UPDATE! Well, when you return to pick up your phone, you cannot just get it even when you have already paid. You have wait in line and even when you tell them it is a simple pick up they try to schedule you an appointment. It took 3.5 hours (probably because they had other items in front of mine), and then you go to pick it up and wait for 20 minutes again, and they tell you that they did not have the adhesive they needed to complete the repair. Then they say they will give you a discount if you bring it back tomorrow. No discount is worth the amount of time that has been wasted. I was going to give them two stars because everyone was very polite, but their whole way of doing business is incredibly slow and flawed. After this last waste of time I cannot. read more

Best Buy is your typical big box electronics store and help from the staff is not easy to find. The customer service line moves painfully slow as does the online order pick up line the last few times I've been there. (I would assume this line would take priority). Being that this is the only electronics store in town leaves much to be desired. Can we bring back Comp USA!? Or a Frys!? RIP. Prices are ok and it's nice they price match Amazon and other retailers. What I don't like -AT ALL- is they sometimes have special discounts for their annual PAY membership members "Best Buy plus" or "Best Buy total". Spend money to save money, I guess. read more

I ordered 3 products online. Only 2 of them were available for pick up at the time of this review.. Received the product from a Employee named M. I'm sparing her name, because I'm not that kind of person) the whole transaction it seemed to be forced as if she didn't want anything to do with anybody in my line. EMPLOYEE completely act like she didn't want to be there. And you could see it in her face and her expressions as well as her interaction with the 2 customers before me.. I had a second product pickup, and guess who I got for my concierge to pick up my item.? Just like my last experience? Yep... A one time thing?Nope... I think not employee M. exactly the same, I guess consistency is a good thing right. So I brushed it off, however, for my third item. I canceled it and chose to have it mailed so I wouldn't have to even deal with that person a 3rd time. This is why the review. RE GEEK SQUAD Horrible service, do not trust them with any of your Apple device/electronic repair needs! Terrible lack of any tech skills or they simply want to scam you into buying new devices. At the recommendation of Apple support, I was scheduled for an appointment to take my iPhone 11 in to Best Buy to be tested by a Geek Squad associate as it had recently died and would not charge/turn on. The lady took my phone to the back to "run some tests" for approx. 6-8 minutes and comes back saying it's a goner, only thing I can do is send my phone to Apple (with years of important data) and I would get a replacement model for $600 in 7-14 days. I felt that was a poor solution so I kept my phone and left and I'm so glad I did! One call to a local phone repair man and $70 for a new battery was all I needed. By this time I had already purchased a $1300 new iPhone to replace my "goner" 11 but thankfully Apple accepts returns up to 14 days. To think I could have lost all my digital memories and access to data/apps and spent $600-1300 after being misinformed/lied to about the status of my phone from a "Geek Squad professional" is diabolical and they should be ashamed of themselves. After relaying my experience to Apple employees and the tech man, they also agreed that they do not trust geek squad to do any type of quality work or diagnostic. Geek squad - takes a looooong time to get someone on the phone. When we did, she had a very heavy accent and we had to constantly ask her to repeat everything thing which was frustrating for us and for her. We never could understand what she asked us to do, and she wouldn't get anyone else on the phone. After our call our printer was now totally unconnected so we had to reconnect to our computer. I finally called and they said they would have to come to our house and we had to pay 99 dollars for the privilege of having them over, regardless of what they had to do. Even though we got the printer 3 months ago and payed the hefty charge to have so called free repairs for the year. Very disappointing that we're stuck with them for the year but in the future we will go somewhere else for our technology needs. Best Buy is the worst and their geek squad is a joke. read more

Shopped for, and bought new 50" mini-LED TV. JASON HARDY assisted us. He was incredible! We went on a walking tour through the TV section and he explained: a) different brands-strengths and weaknesses; b) different technologies; c) how price impacted quality; d) what units were within our budget range. HE TOOK US FROM UNIT TO UNIT EXPLAINING AND DESCRIBING EVERYTHING. He NEVER tried to push us towards a unit outside our budget. I set an appointment for iphone battery replacement. I have warranty through Apple and set the appointment through my coverage page. I show up early and wait in line for service. I get sat down and have my phone ran through diagnostics and so on. I spend 40 minutes waiting while the employee checks the back to see if they have my battery in stock. Red flag right there when he said he was going to check. He gets back and says they don't have it and it'll take 5 days. I work 6-7 days a week including the day I came in to get the battery replaced. I set time aside to handle this and I get my time wasted completely. They said I can check with the Apple Store. On August 7, I purchased a 24 inch iMac desktop computer they ordered ... The clerk told me it was 2024 model and sold me the $179.99 Best Buy membership (stating I could cancel anytime) and the August 14th computer arrived and I had to call an 800 number to cancel my $179.99 membership but they would only give me a partial refund when I was informed that I would get a full refund. Also found out the computer was a 2023 model and not a 2024 so misrepresentation and poor customer service !!! I will stick with Costco for future purchases and not shop at Best Buy!!!! read more

Wow. Where is circuit city when you need them? Oh closed. Today i walked in the best buy and was greeted by 3 employees right away. I was pointed to tje camra area after asking for a tripod. After picking one out i walked to the front so i could pay. Unfortunately there was only one employee trying to help 2 different lines. She was way over her head. The line was atleast 8 people when i left. One guy and his wife both said they waited 30 minutes. I guess i got lucky. 15 minutes after getting in line i was paying and ready to go. I would give them zero stars if possible. First, you call the LOCAL number and still can't talk to a real person until 12 prompts later. Then you get transferred to another department where you pray a real, English speaking person will answer the phone. Unfortunately it appears that you have been transferred overseas because you can hardly make out every other word!!! Again, I called the local number!! Anyway, I ask my questions and instead of a yes or no or A # I can call, I get schooled on reading on their website the answer. I was supposedly talking to a member of the Geek Squad and the idiot had no idea how to answer a question.
