I have purchased 2 TVs from Best Buy (2022 and 2026, World Cup.) It was a pleasure to shop there. I ran in on Sunday evening because the 65" LG was a Deal of the Day for a couple more hours. Franco was super helpful. It was great being able to see the TVs on display. At the end of the day, I paid $299.99 for a 65" TV delivered and brought upstairs in my home. Disappointment of a lifetime. Shopping for a surround sound receiver to replace my Bose system and 65" TV. The salesperson I interacted with "seemed" knowledgeable but as I found out after my purchase, he either didn't know what he was talking about or he was being intentionally deceptive. It was as if he was making things up just to close a sale. I think it's a shame that Best Buy has sales people that mislead a consumer into very expensive purchases with no accountability at all. It's honestly a reflection of what customer service has become--and it's deeply disappointing. There's simply no reason to shop locally when experiences like this make Amazon look like the gold standard of service. If I had treated customers this way when I worked retail, my manager would have chewed me out on the spot. After multiple failed attempts navigating an unresponsive automated system, I finally reached three different employees--none of whom seemed remotely familiar with the product I was calling about, or even the word "Wi-Fi." By the time I got an answer, I could have driven to the store and back. When I finally did visit the store, it somehow got worse. Associates shouldn't offer help unless they're capable of actually helping. Two different employees gave me wrong directions and incorrect information; the first even contradicted what I was told on the phone and didn't seem to know the store carried the item at all. Then, while in the store, I witnessed one of the most unprofessional interactions I've seen in retail. Two employees--Tyler and Ryan--were speaking with a customer who had clearly taken a photo showing that a product on the shelf was mislabeled. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, they implied the customer's photo was wrong or staged. Their tone and attitude were dismissive and defensive. Out of curiosity, I went to check the aisle myself, and sure enough, the item was mislabeled exactly as the customer said. The entire exchange was genuinely disgusting to watch. If my own employees ever behaved that way toward a customer, they'd be getting their final paycheck the next day. Absolutely disposable behavior. I left my items on the shelf and walked out. I'd rather give my money to Amazon and wait a couple of days than support a company that employs people like that. And that's the real shame here--I want to support local stores and the people who work in them. I'd much rather spend my money in my community than contribute to a company that mistreats its workers. But service like this makes that almost impossible to justify. It's not just poor service--it's embarrassing. Do not buy a tv here! Trust me, go to Costco. Will never be going to Best Buy again. Purchased a tv, went home & the screen was black & tv was clearly defective. Tried to return it the next day & the manager told us they don't do returns on cosmetic tvs. We explained that we purchased it 12 hours prior & the manager had her security team pull up video surveillance of us loading the tv into the car to blame us for transport. Manger was gaslighting us telling us we laid down the tv in the back & thus it was our fault. However, we put the tv it in the backseat right side up so we asked them to look again at the video. With reclutance, they did & we were refunded. This best buy does not stand by their products & their managers are clearly here to not resolve the issues but find anyway out of refunding the customer. GENIUS SQUAD I got extra coverage on my new computer and accidentally cracked my screen. It took 2 weeks to send it back to Apple to replace the screen which was an inconvenience. But the REAL inconvenience is that you have to then make an appointment to PICK IT UP when it's ready. I could only get a 3:40 appointment but assumed that it isn't necessary when I am JUST picking a computer up..... was told I would have to wait till an hour for my appointment to get it. read more

Manager, Andrea, was great! I had attempted to resolve an issue by calling offshore reps 5 times and each time was not satisfied. As a last ditch effort, I decided to plead my case at the Bend store in person. Andrea was extremely friendly and understanding and quickly resolved my issue to my 100% satisfaction! Moral of the story...skip the terrible customer service phone and chat reps and go straight to the store if you want real/true customer service! Hello everyone and best buy! On June 26th, I went into best buy to buy a brand new sound system for my car. I was helped after looking around at what I needed, and the sales person had went on their computer to find everything I needed for my car. they were super helpful as they had told me everything I needed, including harnesses, clips, etc. Time passed after I ordered everything and had arrived at my house. everything was at a reasonable value as well at around 900 dollars for parts and installation. On July 15th, I went their to have everything installed, and Noah, who was the installation guy that day, helped me with everything. This was at 9:00 am, and he estimated that for everything to be installed would be around 8 hours. I agreed to it, and proceeded to go around town with my friends. At about 1:30 pm, I showed back up to grab a tool out of my car I needed to finish something I was working on in my other car at home. Noah said "oh I was about to call you, and tell you it is done." I was shocked as he did it so quickly and saved hours of time. I truly appreciate the service and the helpfulness that was their during my visits. truly would recommend best buy for service! I have read through the reviews, some are fairly salty and petty. I don't understand the negative reviews. I was there to purchase a laptop February 12th. Several people offered to assist me, and one in particular was very helpful walking me through my purchase and making suggestions. 10 stars!!! The Geek Squad saved the day with my computer and multiple accounts being hacked.. Ryan worked with me and was so calm and knew exactly what to do while I was in a panic. He was patient with me as I had forgotten passwords and I never felt rushed with him. I'm so glad that he was my Geek Squad service rep. I was in and out with all new passwords which he helped me set up and confirmation that the hackers tried multiple times to get in my accounts all over the world but that their efforts were unsuccessful. I've always loved this store. But when I went in for a computer repair that was not fixable. I had purchased the spill accident plan that was good for 3 years. When I needed help they would only offer a computer in fair condition that they wanted $600 hundred for. The guy was condescending and mean I had to raise my voice to tell him, I do not want that computer. I have a replacement warranty. I would like that computer if there is difference in pay then ok What a way to ruin my midterms, and Christmas. I've never cried in a store before. I came in to buy a tv. I have been wanting a new tv for a while. They were rude and no one helped us when we were looking, we had to pull a worker aside to help us. When we found a tv I really liked he said they had none left in stock. We asked for the floor display. Since the tv I wanted was going to be discontinued. He went and asked someone and said in a lazy voice "it's gonna take like 2 hours to get it off the wall and then we have to find the box." At this point he just didn't want to help us (my mom and I). We went to Fred Meyers where the guy was super awesome. Don't shop or waste your money here. Fred Meyers has way better deals and nicer employees. read more

I was directed to her department, where she volunteered to help me when I said I needed some customer service. Unfortunately, she had a very unpersonable attitude and seemed very uninterested in my needs. When my intentions were unavailable, she ended up sending me home to figure it out on my own, with no future information on how to or where to. It is politically correct, it seems, to diss Best Buy. This review will be politically incorrect since I'll round up to five stars for my three experiences with Bend's Best Buy over the last six years. Noting the fifth star is due to the great service received from professional and charming Matt in the PC sales department this past weekend. My husband and I popped into Best Buy to look at laptops a couple of days ago. My desktop had been held hostage by ransomware virus and it was in sick bay at another retailer's tech department. (Side note: There will be a review shortly about this to be for now nameless other retailer with a warning if you are dumb enough, as was I, to do business with them.) Everything being connected to everything else, it was my need to use my hubby's laptop while my desktop was being tuned up that made me say to him, insist really, that he needed an updated machine. I'll be forced to use his on a few upcoming extended travel adventures and I'm protecting my interests. So in we went to Best Buy just to kick tires at what may be Bend's most robust inventory of personal technology items. We had looked elsewhere and hubby is very clear about what his requirements are and are not as well as what price he is willing to pay. It is not unlike being in a car lot to be at Best Buy for how one is pounced on with sales folk asking how they can help you. That's one view of it. Here's another. It is not unlike Nordstrom's to be at Best Buy with sales folk wanting to be sure you have the assistance you need. I hate shopping for computers only slightly less than I hate shopping for clothes, so I appreciate the help Best Buy sales folks offer and consider the Nordstrom analogy the better one. Particularly so for Matt who knew his stuff, patiently answered my questions and my hubby's, and could help make comparison shopping easy for the short list of alternatives. Not to mention that he was cool about answering my skeptical Brooklyn born hubby's questions about what the tech contracts did and didn't cover in the event my husband should want to buy one. Here's a pretty good connection to the car sales analogy. it is the job of the sales people to offer the extended warranties. Which doesn't mean you have to buy them, but perhaps be less difficult about it than is my husband. Hubby's new laptop secured, at a great value price when a sale went into effect the second day and we went back to buy it. Throughout all of this, across both days, Matt made us feel like valued customers. No pressure sales, what I'd have called consultative selling back in my time at same, and left us feeling pretty darned good about Best Buy overall in the event we ever need assistance in the future, either for support for hubby's laptop or to buy that Ipad I have on my birthday wish list later this year. Yes, I dislike the size of Best Buy's cavernous stores, high noise levels and overall sensory chaos. But our experience in each of our three purchases from Bend's store have been that the store was well stocked and all personnel were friendly and ultimately we got the best price among Bend alternatives for items we wanted. So I'd have given them four stars to now. But Matt's help pushes that right up to five stars. In fact, on the way home I mused to my hubby of 33 years that if I was 35 years younger and unattached, I'll be finding a lot of reasons to go into Best Buy's computer department to try to determine if Matt was unattached too. I've been in this store twice in the last 6-9 months. Once to buy an external ssd and yesterday to pick up a HDMI cable. For me, big stores with lots of stuff can be daunting to navigate. Both times I was assisted by cheerful and knowledgeable staff. When I walked in I asked the nearest person to the door for the location of the item of interest. When I arrived there I was quickly approached by staff eager to offer advice, both times suggesting products which would suit my need at a lesser price. They were also clear about which were BB brands. Most of the time direct eye contact and a smile on your lips makes all the difference. read more

Mom had a birthday and got an I-Pad for her birthday. So, it was the next day that we had to go get Dad an I-Pad. He was pretty specific that he wanted the ability to use wi-fi but also have internet access when no wifi was available. Mike helped us out with picking out the things we needed with the I-Pad. The process takes a while what with the credit check, etc., but we got Dad hooked up with a carrier and a minimal bill each month and it all worked out fine. Now we just have to assist him with working in the Apple environment as he has been a PC users for years. I would come back here again. read more

Wow! Terrible customer service! I've shopped here for 8 years and always had a good experience. Today I went in on a break from work, to quickly get a charger for my MacBook Air and waited 30 minutes to get someone in the Mac department to help me , by the time I finally got his attention he didn't know which charger went with my MacBook Air. Then he recommended one that I knew was the wrong one, so I asked him ... are you sure? He said no , then said maybe I should go ask someone up front in a black shirt and pointed to the front. I went up to the front and asked the man at cash register in a black shirt and he said oh not me the guys in geek squad in the black shirt. After waiting another 20 minutes I went to another person at the counter and asked if I could check to see if the charger worked. He said he wasn't sure either , he opened the box and said its not the right one, then checked inventory and said they were out of stock. I said as I left, for future reference you might want to have people who work in the Mac store who actually know the product. Then he said oh he's probably from another department. It was nuts! No one was interested in customer service or actually helping solve a very simple problem. I won't be back! read more

Best Buy's online customer service options are atrocious. After extreme frustration dealing online "Chat" (if you see the name Michael V, end the chat immediately and cut your losses. He's an idiot, and rude too), and unreasonable hold times to speak with a representative, I called the Bend store where I had picked up the online order. Amethyst took my call and after trying to help said that she would transfer me to online services since that is where I purchased it. After explaining my horrible experience there, she put me on hold and came back with a very workable solution. She was professional, courteous, and effective. as have been other employees in past dealings with the Bend store. I can't say the same for most other locations. read more

I don't know how Best Buy's cell phone reps work, but our experience was very strange. Having recently moved to Oregon, we realized that our AT&T service was not very dependable. We decided to switch to Verizon and decided on a plan and the phones we wanted. The Verizon rep was busy, so another rep came over to help us. He encouraged us to stay with AT&T and told us that it would cost less and we could purchase a booster for better service. We travel all the time, so we know that AT&T is not great in Oregon. He made us second guess our decision, so chose not to change our service. After research, we learned that most people recommend Verizon. After we left, I asked W what in the hell happened. I had never experienced a sales rep talking me out of a purchase. Very strange. We are guessing that this was an AT&T rep who heard the manager tell the Verizon rep that we were waiting for him to help us and he intercepted. We came home and did our research again and determined that we would not save money by staying with AT&T. Maybe the phone company reps at Best Buy only get paid a commission if they sell services for the company they work for. If so, this is not a good idea and Best Buy is not considering the best options for their customers. If the rep had not tried to convince us to stay with AT&T, but had instead sold us the phones and plans we had already planned to buy, we wouldn't have asked questions. They are both professional and very well informed and did not pressure us into buying. We purchased a Lenovo laptop at a great price and Nathanael from the Geek Squad came out to set it up. My wife and I purchased a refrigerator from Best Buy in Bend in mid- July, 2022, with the assurance that we would receive it in a couple of weeks. That never happened! The store managers did nothing to help us or communicate with us, yet we had paid for the refrigerator in full. After a month of phone calls to the Bend store, we tried the Corporate office and finally were refunded our money. This took a month! I would never shop at the Bend Best Buy store again. Employees make or break a business. At this Best Buy location, Customer Service is wildly inconsistent.... department to department, employee to employee, day to day... you get the picture! There seems to be no middle ground either - the employees are either fan-frickin-tastic or just soooo very awful. I've had a great experience purchasing a TV & sound system here. I've had an awful time attempting to purchasing large appliances here, TWICE (they lost my business twice). I had a great experience purchasing 2 different computers here. I've had a frustrating experience with the Geek Squad because they absolutely refuse to schedule times to do data transfer - it does not take 3 to 4 days to port my data. It takes the Geek Squad 3 to 4 days to get around to porting the data on my system - my computers shouldn't have to sit on a shelf waiting to be handled. I should be able to schedule the service & wait or get a text later that day to pickup. You don't bring your vehicle to a mechanic and drop it off for three or four days while you wait for an oil change, you schedule an appointment for service and it gets done while you wait! Why is Geek Squad Service any different?! There are certain computer related services that most definitely could be scheduled. The whole drop it off and will get around to it when we get around to it sucks! Management needs to: *. Weed out the employees who would rather socialize than assist customers *. Weed out employees who make minimum effort to help customers. *. Revamp Geek Squad. Allow customers to schedule certain services such as data transfer, book customers in for this just like a mechanic would book customers in for oil changes and brake changes. Come on! Best Buy has an app; there's nothing in the app about the employees I interacted with or customer service experience. I received an email copy of recent order, a thank you for your order, but nothing asking me about the employees I interacted with or customer service experience. read more

I should have known better. Purchased a modem and router "especially" brought in to Bend's big box that was specifically recommended to be compatible with Bend Broadband. No problem with connecting to internet or cable. My printer was another matter. The router and printer would not communicate with each other. Attempts at couples' counseling, mediation and referring to the support pages were unsuccessful. So, back to Best Buy. The sales associate (heretofore known as Sales Ass.) reported that this was a common problem with printers. His only recommendation was to have the Geek Squad come out and problem solve the difficulty. Really? Spending for an overpriced service call to connect a home printer? Really? I would have gotten better service if I went to Radio Shack. Or Freddie's for that matter. Jeez. read more

BEWARE buying at Best Buy. I carted four appliances and made appointments for everything to be installed. Then I get an email that they needed updated payment information to process the order. I went online to update info but got the message "self service is not available right now". I've been getting that message for the past two days. I spoke with April and Josh, who told me they were unable to process my update and that I should do it online! After telling them I was barred from doing that, they both just shuffled me back into the phone pool (which requires a one hour hold). Then I called international BB and spoke with Rosa who said she would be happy to update my info. I saw the full charge pending in my AM/EX account but only a partial amount posted today. AM/EX said that the vendor refused to accept the full order amount but they could give me no reason since the full amount had been approved. So I "chatted" with BB's bot and it just said I needed to update payment information and hung up. I called BB and was told that hold time was at least one hour and six minutes. So, I guess BB does not need $5700 from a long-time client. Just thought I'd let yelers know so they don't get all the way to checkout and get the runaround. read more
