We talked about my situation and what I needed. This was in the late afternoon. Damon said he'd check availability and scheduling and call me back. I did not receive a call. The next day I called to speak with him and they transferred me to voicemail. I left a message asking why I hadn't heard back. I asked for a call before I put out a review. I got no call back. I have dealt with Stardard TV and Appliance before, in Beaverton, and had a bad experience. Therefore I was hesitant to stop at the Bend store, but I'm glad I did. It was the difference between night and day. Marc, our salesman was terrific. We purchased 3 items after spending a lot of time reviewing our options. He was informative, patient, and we really felt comfortable with him. When it came to installation of the items we were equally impressed. The quality of the installers was outstanding. Sam and Charlie really know their stuff and were friendly, meticulous, thorough, and really took care from the time they entered our home until they left. I could have gone to the big box stores but Standard even price match. Another point is that at Standard their sales force know the product. In big box stores IF you find someone to help you, they may know zip about the item. A big plus is that Standard also has their own installers so you don't have to worry about who's going to come in your home to put things together. There's no doubt in my mind that if we need any new appliance we'll go directly to Standard TV and Appliance in Bend. read more

Listen to the other bad reviews, people. Buy your appliances any where but here. I've been trying to get a freezer door replaced that was broken upon install over 7 months ago. After countless calls and unfulfilled promises, they finally came to install the new door last week. Guess what. It was made wrong. Seriously? So now we wait some more. Please just refund my money and come take this thing away. It doesn't end there. My parents ordered a washer/dryer set for their new home. They had to work with the builder's rep to place the order. After countless unreturned calls, they finally got the order placed. You think that the builder's rep (a Standard Appliance employee) would know the dimensions of a particular property and recommend appliances that fit. Nope. Expect nothing with these people. The appliances are, in fact, too big rendering a drawer and a cabinet pretty much useless. Their suggestion? Find someone to rebuild the cabinet. Finally, my folks also ordered a BBQ when they were in the showroom trying to order their washer dryer. My dad asked numerous times to make sure the natural gas (not propane) model was being ordered. It was. After weeks and weeks of waiting, they got a call that it was in and a delivery appointment was made. But of course, the delivery truck never showed and when he called, it was "left off the truck". Sounds like this is a pretty common problem w/Standard. When the delivery finally did come and they came to install it (he paid extra for assembly and installation), it was, of course, the wrong model. It was propane, not natural gas. At least for this mistake, he was able to get a refund and found the same model BBQ at another local store in stock and preassembled for less. These guys are not worth the hassle. We purchased our kitchen aid refrigerator a few years ago from Standard TV. We purchase the extended warranty through Epic. It has taken Standard TV over a year now and counting to fix our ice-maker. They are not at staying in contact with me and letting me know when my icemaker will be fixed. I feel like I'm doing all the work calling Standard TV and Epic just to make sure I'm on the list to me for the repair to be done. The most helpful person there was a lady named Rose. She has great customer service! I am hoping our icemaker gets fixed soon as they have been sent the contract by Epic to do the repair. There's no reason it should be taking this long. read more

104 days and still counting without a cooktop. Standard TVs' installations department incorrectly installed a new Jenn Air cooktop. They could have burned our house down. The cooktop finally blew out major parts and flipped a shared circuit breaker not designed to service a powerful cooktop. That occurred on December 20, 2021. It is now April 4, 2022 and we are still without a cooktop. The Keystone Kops are positively efficient compared to Standard TV and Appliance Repair. Insane wait times on the phone. Ghosting. Lying. Excuses. Rationalizing. We have probably missed some of Standard's more polished avoidance techniques like "tormenting customers just for the jollies." Buyers Beware. There is nobody home at Standard TV once the sale is final. And don't get us started on how we feel about Jenn Air. Worthless product, worthless customer relations department, worthless 1-year warranty. We now own a $2,200 piece of JUNK. Thanks, Jenn Air. How companies with such terrible service records manage to stay in business is an unsolvable mystery. READ the dumpster load of bad reviews before you give Standard TV your business. Go online and read the ratings/rankings for Jenn Air products. Once you pass out the money, Standard TV and Jenn Air pass out. Buyer beware. If I could give zero stars, I would. There is something very fishy about this place. We ordered an entire GE Cafe Kitchen set from them prior to the pandemic hitting the US - despite this being a generic set, our oven never came, despite them saying every six weeks, that our order would arrive, and our microwave arrived so damaged it would not even turn on. Week after week, gave us every excuse, promising us the oven would come, and that the microwave would be replaced. My husband eventually cancelled the oven order and drove up to Portland to another appliance store, where they ordered it and it was ready for us in two weeks. We are still waiting on the microwave replacement, but they are still, six months after our order (and having taken payment of course), unable to deliver us our microwave. Not having a usable stove and microwave - in the middle of a pandemic no less - has not made life easy. Standard won't give us a refund, have blown past multiple promises of delivery - we have even gotten multiple calls, over the months, giving us a date and confirming our address, for the delivery, but then it doesn't show that day and when we call, they say they are shocked, but the item was somehow not in the truck. We had originally worked with a local employee there. After he began shouting at me that because of all the large orders they have, he was not able to get our "little" order in, we went to his boss - no luck - and then to the head of the customer service in Portland. Same story: it's not their fault, they thought it made it on the truck, they don't know why it isn't there, but they won't give us a refund either.... It is beyond bizarre. Previously, I had always felt if I cannot give a five star review, I just won't say anything - there is already enough negativity on the internet - but this has caused us so much trouble, I cannot, in good conscience, stand by and not warn others. read more

Do yourself a favor and believe the bad reviews. We ordered 5 GE Cafe products from Standard (we went there because our contractor recommended them). Big mistake! Of the 5 items we ordered, 4 of them arrived 3 weeks late and 1 of those items was damaged. The last item, an oven, was promised would arrive "in one week." Standard kept telling us over and over the same line of bull "it will be there in one week" for the next month. Finally we cancelled the oven order (after our sales person was rude and spoke down to my wife). We ordered the same oven from DeWitt in Portland and got it right away. Sadly we are still (4 months later) waiting for our damaged item to be replaced. Again with the promise that it will be delivered any day now. Never have I ever received such horrid service. I don't know about any potential issues related to delivery timeliness or workmanship for installations. I just pick up the appliance, haul it home, and install it. Installers were incompetent. New washer leaks a lot of water. Assumed it was GE manufacturer problem but turns out it was not properly installed to begin with. Drain hose clip was not installed to secure it at back of washer and washer legs were not leveled. So washer bangs and rocks, moves across the floor, and leaks water across floor. Called Standard and was told I have to pay $236 plus parts in order for them to come back and fix their errors! Never buying anything from Standard again. read more

Initial sales experience was good but follow up and delivery scheduling was horrible. Scheduled delivery date was canceled after waiting all day for them to show up we got a call at 8pm that delivery wasn't going to happen. Called the following day to reschedule. Delivery set for 4 days later. Appliances never showed up. We called several times the delivery day to get some answers and got no help. Never got a return call from a manager. 3rd time delivery scheduled appliances finally arrived at 8pm. Delivery staff was good. The experience was very frustrating. This is one of maybe a few reviews that I've ever written. The sales staff here is knowledgeable and very friendly, but if there are problems with your purchase - you will have regrets. My wife and i purchased a washer and dryer set two weeks ago. I picked up the units and installed them the same day. After about 5-minutes the dryer stopped working. Long story short, the Appliance Hospital came out to our house a week later and determined the motor in the unit was faulty. They ordered a motor and are scheduled to come out to our house in the next few days (2.5 weeks after purchasing the unit) to install the replacement part. Meanwhile, Standard TV & Appliance cashes our check and the chairs, sofa, dining table and staircase become drying racks. Standard TV & Appliance has been useless in resolving this issue. When purchasing a Jenn-air stove top to replace a Jenn-air stove top of same size, I was informed by the salesperson that it would be an easy install, because they were the same size, same brand, they would just drop it in. Not so. During delivery, I was informed that three cuts would have to be made at $119 per cut. Having taken the day off, having the original stove top removed and having informed my wife that this new stove top would be in on this date, I had them do what they needed to do. I informed the sales person about this, and he assured me that the specs on paper stated this stove top would fit, and he would talk to his manager about reversing this charge. He never called back. I called him approx 5 times, left messages, but no return call. I then called the manager, and he stated that this thing happens all the time, manufacturers change things around requiring modifications to be performed. I informed him that my sales person assured me this would be an easy fit, and if this thing really did happen all the time, the sales person should have at least said there was a possibility of this snafu happening. The installers did install the stove, but the stone cutting resulted in us needing to clean the house of dust for the next two days. Please read other reviews of this business. I strongly recommend you find another place to do your business. A local builder we know that used to use this company has since stopped using them because of their terrible service. Went in to get a brand new stove top grill replaced, ours cracked and under warranty, we were told by our builder to take it to Standard and that they would replace it. Young salesman told us we'd have to go on line with Kitchen Aid, they don't stock parts. He was quick to dismiss us, we tried to tell him builder set us but he would have nothing to do with us. When we asked for 800 number for Kitchen aide he yelled at us "just go on line!" We asked him again to write down the customer service number and he replied "just calm down!" Needless to say we walked out, if we could give negative stars we would. He must think Standard Appliance is the only game in town, wrong! This is a shout out for Jase at Bends Standard TV and appliance. We had bought a new Speed Queen washer and dryer back in November 2019 from Cat. Everything was great for 2 weeks, then the washer quit spinning out all the way. left about 2 inches of water in the bottom, so I would have to unplug it to re-set and then turn it to spin to get all the water out. Well, I talked to Cat about it and she had the repairman call me. He came out twice during the last 3 months. Still couldn't figure out the problem. When I called the repairman again, I was told that they are not working on my brand any longer.VERY FRUSTRATED, at this point, I dragged my husband down to Standard to end this agony with me. Thank goodness Jase, helped my husband calm me down and he was able to call another repairman who came out Tuesday and fixed the problem. Now the irony of this story is that it was NOT the washer, it was the hard water from our well in our newly bought house in Terrebonne. The repairman told me that only Bend,LaPine and Sunriver have good enough water not to plug the filter in the hose line. Of course , never had a problem in Sisters either, so hard water was a bit of a surprise. We are now installing a water filter at the pump and hope to enjoy 25 years of trouble free washing! This is the worst company I have ever felt with and unfortunately I still am as they never ordered my exhaust hood and told me oh ya no prob we will have it here two weeks and a month later still haven't got it it they won't return phone calls and when they do sell you something you are put on the back burner for customer service! JJ and Steve went out of their way to rescue my washer's pedestal and were going to remove it because I was told it was irreplaceable by Whirlpool. However, when they arrived and saw the problem, their creative thinking suggested I switch pedestals and they repaired the broken one to put under the dryer. This was strictly an unasked for service that I didn't have to pay for. If more businesses had this kind of concern for customers and willingness to go out of their way to help, everyone wins. Lied to multiple times about delivery even though they had a 4 week lead time until our move in day. Day 1, no appliances. Day 2, no appliances even though I was co tatted twice during the day telling me it was on its way. I called after their 3.5 hour window and was told I wouldn't get it for 2 more days. TJ is an awful customer relations representative. He could care less about the customer. He was sure to let me know they've been in business 20 years so their doing something right. What a joke. I just got my follow up reminder of why I would never ever shop here again. After purchasing a stove top last year, as the one in my house was the wrong size, my old stove was removed from my house during the install. It was a nice stove, and I planned on reselling it. When I went to the store to inquire why my stove had been taken, they informed me that the salesman had noted that I wanted it removed during the sale. They then could not locate my stove, and told me it was my problem. The old stove was worth over 1000$. I never ended up taking action. Now, 1 year later, during a home inspection of the sale of the house, a gas leak was noted, and the gas company said whoever installed this stove jury rigged the gas connection. We had a terrible experience with Les at Standard TV in Bend last year when we were building a house to sell. Countless calls and messages to Les about the status pf our appliances not to mention broken promises and overall misstatements and placing blame on everyone else. I cannot say enough about how bad this experience was up until the very end. I did complain to the Sales Manager without any discounts or admission of wrong doing by Les. I will never shop here again. We purchased a brand new Maytag Washer and Dryer. We put our first load of clothes in the dryer about an hour after delivery, and it banged like there were bricks in it. We called Standard immediately. They didn't want to replace it because they "didn't know what had happened to it since it was dropped off." Seriously? We put CLOTHES in it! We tried to get a repairman out three times, excuse after excuse, Standard finally replaced the dryer. About a week later, the second one started doing the same thing. I could have have a pair of underwear in it, and it bangs like there is a brick in it. We have attempted, again, to get service on it, and have had them cancel on us three times. Unbelievably expensive waste of money and ridiculous customer "service." Seems to be common for this company, though. read more

Tried to buy a washer & dryer from Standard today. The whole sales process just felt 'slimy,' like a used-car dealership. Instead of just giving me straight-up pricing, the salesman typed in the model numbers I gave him on Google and brought up other retailers' pricing before giving me Standard's pricing. After finally finding the pricing for everything I wanted, he jotted it down on a post-it note and gave me a total. I asked for a quote so I could make sure it included everything I want and needed, and he tried to hand me the post-it note with his scribbling on it! Unbelievable. We finally got pricing squared away, and he presented me with paperwork for several rebates I was eligible for. Literally *right* before I was about to hand him my credit card, I looked at the fine print and realized the washer I was buying wasn't included in the $500 rebate he had promised me. His attention to detail was SEVERELY lacking-- not only with the rebate, but also with the items I needed to purchase along with the washer/dryer to hook it up. I actually had to point out several things he missed, and later learned he was attempting to sell me things that were included with the washer/dryer. He attempted to sell me a drain pan that wouldn't even fit the washer I was buying. I had so little confidence in him and his knowledge of the product that he was selling, that I walked after an hour of attempting to buy what I wanted. Went to Best Buy and got exactly the same product and was in and out the door in 15 minutes. The difference was like night and day. read more

I now call this company Below Standard Appliance or BS Appliance. Brand new Frigidaire Refrigerator--cooling problem. Called Portland salesman and was told it should maintain 38 degrees on normal setting. If not, justifies a free service call. It only does that if we keep it on high. It takes 24 hours for temperatures to adjust after setting--says manual and salesman. Service call arranged through Bend Office. Turns out Sunriver only gets service on Thursdays and that doesn't mean necessarily next Thursday--terrible attitude of service desk person. Suggested I call other service companies. I said wait! You sold this to us and your guy who delivered didn't even take the time to change the door handle to the correct side as on the order. Instead, he instructed my husband to do it. What gives! So, okay he says, we'll come this Thursday (thankfully before Christmas instead of December 31). Service man arrives says it's fine. First complaint, you have a turkey in the freezer, that's too much food. Your thermometers aren't as good as mine. I repeat what salesman said about maintaining 38 degrees on normal setting, serviceman says "yeah, well, he's just a salesman, he doesn't know what he's talking about." It was running on high for 6 days before he arrived and taped over light switch for heaven forbid I might open the door a few times to get some food to cook or something. So he lowers the freezer to below normal to give the refrigerator more cooling power. Yeah, who really needs a freezer colder than 20 degrees--you shouldn't put food in there anyway and ice cubes aren't perishable. But, yes, you may have to run the refrigerator setting on high to keep that temperature as the repairman says "they don't make them like they used to--less insulation". This is cold weather, what happens in the summer? Yes, Below Standard BS in my book and the repairman is a poor representative for them. I hope the salesman and repairman get to talk to each other one day. I cannot recommend this company to anyone after my experience. It might be that our Frigidaire is a poor model (Model FFTR2021QS1) and the problems are because of the manufacturer; but my experience is that Standard Appliance employees are rude, uncaring and apathetic about their jobs and Sunriver folks deserve better treatment. In my days of working in corporations, this type of customer treatment would send entire departments back into training. People skills seriously lacking here. read more

My wife and I are building our retirement home in Bend Or. We went to the Redmond Home & Garden show, saw some appliances we liked so decided to stop by the Bend Store and have a look. We were lucky to meet Nic Yzaguirre, the sales rep on the floor. He listened to our questions and showed us the products he thought could meet our needs. He answered our questions without telling us what products to get, yet meshed perfectly with what we were looking for. They forwarded us to Dacor after the service people while trying their best couldn't get the LEMON working properly. Their delivery crew scratched our floor. I spoke with the manager and basically they called me a liar. Because we spend $1600 to have someone fix our floor for free (floor was $65 to repair). I was then moved on to 'corporate'. That should be your first clue. Don't do business with people that don't care and are only worried about the corporation. They lied to me and changed their story so many times it was so unprofessional. I will never do business with them again and I would strongly caution anyone else from doing the same. NEVER do business with this company. Every other store in town was honest about a late delivery for refrigerators, this sales clerk said I could get it in two weeks. Three months later, after six scheduled deliveries that were all a no-show with no phone call cancelling, they delivered a cheap refrigerator that wasn't even the color I ordered. I cancelled the order and have requested a refund of my money that they have had for three months. I hope their accounting office is honest. read more
