Upon entering a gruff employee directed us toward TVs & told us to come back to the front of the store when we wanted a salesman. We actually wanted one to answer question right away but none were to be had. We were on our own. No expertise of a knowledgeable staff member available. There didn't seem to be much in the way of merchandise. Plenty of empty shelves. We looked around, selected a model and then went on the hunt for a sales person. None around. Went back to the front & were told to go wait at the register in the back. After 15 minutes gave up. Stopped an employee walking by to ask for help. He went looking for the stock of our selected TV and after awhile we found it ourselves in another part of the store. Went in Sunday night to browse. I always look at the open box items . I saw a iPad portfolio case for $15( or so the tag said) I asked a worker if I could get it and if it would fit my iPad . He said "well that's not the price for it that's for a water bottle , but it will fit." I then said really? you guys should honor it cause it was tagged wrong . he said no it's not $15. I said okay thank you and walked away. Mind you I don't look into the details on the tags I saw it on the item and look at the price Thats.all.. I went to tell my husband about it and was debating if I should still take it for the actual price . Then I hear another worker with glasses walking by laughing about it on his headset while carrying a water bottle to the original worker who helped me . Made me feel uncomfortable, because it's not my fault it was tagged wrong , and I was just asking honestly if it could be honored . Maybe focus more on making sure you don't tag items wrong instead of making fun of customers . I still bought $250 headphones and $159 worth of legos. We rarely go to the stores anymore, due to Covid-45 restrictions. We needed a new printer for home and showed one in stock at Countryside, IL. We drove to store and none of our printers were available. We started to walk out, and William stopped us and asked if we needed help. We told him about the printer, and he double checked their stock for item. It was sold out and he offered same printer shipped to our home the next day. He saved the day for Best Buy, as we were going to the next store on our list for this printer, he saved the sale and a customer. We received such good service from William, and we wanted him to know this, as you do not get the services you pay for sometimes. Thye new printer arrives today and cannot wait to hook it up. We started at this Best Buy to purchase a washing machine as ours stopped working. We knew about what we wanted and eventually decided on one. The gentleman at the door said he would send a salesman to help us but no one came. We tried waiting but it became apparent that the person who was supposed to be coming to help us did not come or was called somewhere else. We waited about 20 minutes more and then left. We took the information off that model and drove to another Best Buy as this was on sale for a great reduction. Unfortunately we drove to another Best Buy and met the same situation and ended up at Home Depot and bought the very same machine in about 20 minutes. I went into Best Buy to buy a particular computer/TV patch cord. I could not find what I was looking for -- and I couldn't find anyone to help me look either. I wandered around the store for close to 10 minutes, trying to find where the computer/TV cables were stocked.  There seemed to be a couple of guys behind the TV counter, but they didn't bother to come out to greet me.  Maybe they didn't see me wandering around -- or maybe they just didn't care. So I finally went to see the guy at the front door.  He pointed me in the general direction of what I was looking for and told me he would get me help.  So I went over to the computer area and waited . . . and waited . . . and waited.  I ended up just leaving the store and ordering the part on Amazon. My wife had a similar problem when she was looking for a new washing machine.  She could not find anyone to answer any questions -- and she went down the street and bought a Samsung at Home Depot.  Best Buy, you have a baaad business model. read more

This Best Buy is sandwiched between Disc Replay and Dollar Tree. Your first impression before you walk in the store will be "Wow, that's the smallest Best Buy I've ever seen." Fear not, my friends. When you walk inside, it's pretty much the same size as other Best Buy stores. The only difference I noticed is that this store looked a little bare inside, as if there was too much space. Some parts of the store inside had me wondering if this location was closing soon. There was a surplus of employees on the floor because it was on a weekday around noon. I came across three employees during my visit: one was friendly and asked for help, one did not acknowledge me when I was right next to her and one was get-on-with-it friendly during checkout (i.e. Cashier: "Hi, how are you?" Me: "Good, how are you?" *no response*). Checkout was pretty quick though because no one else was waiting in line. Overall, I wouldn't recommend going here because other Best Buy stores might have a bigger selection. I have a gut feeling that this store might be closing within the next year or so. read more

I received an email that a pair of headphones were on sale. When I went in to Best Buy I was told that the headphones were not on sale. I showed customer service my email and I was told to go speak to the manager and see if he could help me figure out why the headphones were showing a different price. When I approached Bobby, the store manager, he immediately stepped away from me with a look of disgust on his face. As I spoke all he did was walk in circles, look away...anything but try to help me. He never once looked at the email. But instead just repeated that it was probably a fake email. He even walked away from me when I was still taking. He then said to me that he didn't know what else to tell me and I should call customer service so they can help me and the a card with the number on the counter! I have never been treated this horrible at a store. No wonder this store is always empty. Bobby is extremely rude. read more

I had to exchange my Samsung QN90A TV for an LG C1 due to the "Rainbow" glare being caused by the Samsung. Brian, the Store Manager, and Andy, the Geek Squad installer, were great to deal with. There was a delay for the exchange to take place at my home for an unknown reason but we were able to work something out that made me very happy. Two stars because the people I encountered were pretty nice but not able to get/make things right Phone calls were answered in reasonable amount of time--automated voice not too annoying--got to "real person" with minimal amount of aggravation The gal that processed my cancellation did an EXCELLENT job--received email of refund shortly after talking to her, however, this is small consolation after wasting good portion of my day! The sales rep that took my order for a smartphone got the price match right but got the shipping address wrong. He made a mistake and marked as an in-store pick-up. That was after listening to my lengthy story about how I just had my car serviced at the dealership nearby and that was the only reason I was in their store--which is some distance from my house. He told me they can ship to my house for free. When I got home, I noticed an email that my order was being processed and will be shipped to the store soon for in-store pickup! I called Best Buy in Countryside and asked that they correct this. People can make mistakes and USUALLY they can be corrected. I was told I would get a call back by the end of the day--it was about 1:30 PM at the time. About 3 PM, I got an idea to call Best Buy's 888# A guy told me that the phone was being shipped to my house. About 5 minutes later, Countryside called and said that the order could not be changed. SO, I called the 888# again and learned the phone was on it's way to the store and the order could not be changed to send it to my house. This call taker was very understanding of my frustration and transferred me to another understanding person who then cancelled my order. Clearly this was my only option--since wasting my time traveling back to Countryside was NOT an option I was willing to take. I called Countryside back to say I had cancelled my order. She was sorry that it could not be changed. (Uh-huh) Of course, there was the option of cancelling "the order that could not be changed" and writing a new order. No one bothered to suggest it. I guess Best Buy wasn't really that interested in selling me a smartphone unless I was willing to come to the store to pick it up. Tip, should you choose to shop Best Buy: Take out your magnifying glass and check your order closely to save yourself time and aggravation. read more

I visited the store today in search for a GoPro camera for a trip I'm taking. I asked the manager Bobby if he could open the glass so I could take a look at two of the cameras I was deciding between. He was very put off by my request, proceeded to tell me to go online and figure out which one I want and then he will open the glass. I was pretty surprised by his rude response. I said I just want to see the difference between the two cameras. He then said, im not a salesman and there isn't one available. Standing there a bit shocked and speechless he then says, usually people know what they want before they ask me to open the glass. I randomly chose one for him to give me because I'm leaving in the morning and needed it tonight, he said, that's clearly out of stock so not sure why you picked that one. I told him he was being extremely rude and unprofessional. I chose the other camera so I could get on my way. If I wasn't pressed for time and leaving on my trip in the morning I would have left with nothing. I will go out of my way to avoid this location! read more

On Saturday March 26th I went to the Best Buy store in Countryside Illinois. The pandemic had hit my family particularly hard, but after switching jobs and much hard word we had finally caught up on most of our outstanding issues and decided a new TV would be a small gift to ourselves. I purchased a Toshiba TV and it was almost 7 pm so the store would be closing soon. We got the unit home 30 minutes later and we opened the box and plugged it in to find the lcd panel was cracked. We did not drop it or jostle it. There was NO damage to the box, the Styrofoam, the outer screen, or the back of the unit. We packed it back up and I brought it back the next morning to attempt an exchange. It was at this point I had the distinct displeasure of having to interact with Brian. Brian claimed he was an assistant manager, however his name tag said only "Manager". Brian was, without doubt, the worst customer service experience I have ever had. He appeared uncaring, uninterested, and overall unhappy to be at work on a Sunday morning. Brian informed me that the TV was not in returnable condition. He seemed to question why the thin plastic wrapping that the TV comes in was not present. It's thin plastic. It ripped, I threw it away. He proceeded to tell me that it was in an "unreturnable condition". He stated that because the visible damage was several inches off of the corner of the unit that we must have damaged it. Mind you, NO damage was present anywhere else on the unit. He told me that these units work differently and that damage to the panel can occur without seeing any other damage. When I asked if the same could be true when the unit was shipped to the store, or delivered to the store he stated that this was not at all possible. His offer was to return the protection plan I purchased and either put it back in my car, or recycle it for me. I had him put it back in the car. In the parking lot less than 10 minutes later I called Best Buys customer service line. Here is the basic conversation. Me: Hello I purchased this TV yesterday and when I got home I found the lcd panel was cracked. Best Buy Rep: Please give me your PIN number from the bottom of the receipt Me: *Recites PIN from Receipt* Best Buy Rep: OK, You are definitely within your exchange period, let me process that for you. 5 minutes. No questions asked at all. No accusations that I had somehow broken it by "Squeezing it with my thumb" (Yes, Brian actually said that). No condescension or hassles. The fact that customer service was so quick to process the exchange tells me a few things. 1. Brian doesn't know how to do his job when it comes to customer service. I worked for best buy a long time ago and I remember that returns and exchanges affect the stores oh so important numbers. I can assume that Brian did not wish to have a negative number on his stores ledger. NOT A REASON FOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE 2. Brian could have been straight with me and told me he didn't wish this to negatively impact the store and told me I could call customer service to process the exchange. I could at least respect that and I would have done it. 3. Brian, in MY opinion, did not wish to disrupt his private little middle management fiefdom and took the opportunity to show how powerful he was by denying my in store exchange. 4. Brian may indeed have many management skills worthy of having a management position, however in a business that relies on customer service for one to be so lacking in those skills is silly... at best So I will most assuredly NEVER be returning to the Countryside Illinois store. I recommend to everyone to also avoid this store. Go to Burbank, or North Riverside. Finally, to Paula from Best Buy customer service. Thank You! You didn't attempt to condescend or belittle me. Excuse my difficul to read review as it will conttain a lo of missing or duplicae lettter "T's" because I am writing this review on my NEWlLY purchased $1,200 laptop from Bes Buy. Now, I can attentively correct every "T" typo I would typically make when typing--as I have done with this sentence--but I want to explicitly express the frustration I would experience when using my new laptop regularly. I have gone back to the store to reques this issue to be fixed and they will not own up tto the problem and fix or replace it. I purchased a ttop of the line Lenovo Yoga 2 almost exacly a month ago for $1,200. I was very saisfied with my purchase. A week after my purchase I noticed that my "T" key is stticking to the keyboard. I have recently been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma so I have been conantly in and out of the hospittal over the past monh and could no bring my laptop in earlier to get it checked outt. When I finally had the time, I brought my device in expecting a quick and easy fix. Boy, was I wrong. After getting nowhere with custtomer service, I eventually spoke wih an unhelpful manager named "Sal Karim" and this is the message he relayed to me (I will even correct my "T's" to be exra clear). *There is no quick fix to my laptop at the store. He can send it out to have it fixed by Best Buy for a minimum fee of $130 and I will have it back in two weeks. Another option is to send it to the manufacturer for two weeks and look at fix the problem for free IF the manufacturer deems it as a "manufacturer defect." The only way for me to walk out of the store that day with a functional device is if he chooses to replaces my laptop at the store. He refuses to do so after telling me that he does not want to eat the cost. Sal also suggested a ridiculous solution to drop another $1,200 to purchase a new laptop while sending my current laptop in to be fixed and returning the new laptop after I have received my fixed laptop. As cusomer, I expect a fully functional productt when I make a purchase. My laptop malfunctioned aftter a week of normal usage. It is the responsibility of the business I have made the purchase from to ensure my productt is properly working especially for such an expensive purchase. This is very unfortunatte because my household has been an avid Best Buy shopper forever (mainly because of my annual ritualistic Black Friday escapades). Over years, almos all of my household devices have been supplied from TTHIS specific Bestt Buy. Tens of TThousands of dollars have been spent on lapops, deskops, elevisions, phones, routers, lost earphones, etc. There will be ZERO repeat business wih this Best Buy or any @BestBuy ever again. I'd like to give this store 2.5 stars, but since I can't let's settle on 2. The workers here are 95% terrible. They DO NOT want to help you - ever! If you are ever so lucky enough to track one down who isn't on a phone call they will either ignore you, not know what you are talking about, or try to sell you exactly what you told them you don't want. Those other 5% of the staff can be great, helpful and very accommodating, but they are rare birds. The store layout is good and the shelves are well-stocked with items. The Geek Squad is ok - picture what you think a Geek Squad is - and that's exactly what it is at this Best Buy. The other minus at this store is the parking lot. This location is in a corner of an outdoor shopping strip and has to share most of its lot with a dollar store, restaurant, office store and furniture store. Parking is not easy unless you come in the middle of a weekday or late evening. One shining point - if you have a large package, you can ask the guard at the front door to call someone to help you, then pull your car around to the the front doors and store personnel will help load it. Since it's the only Best Buy in the area (Circuit City is closing - but who shopped there anyway?), it's good for what you need in terms of electronics, DVDs and appliances- as long as you do your research at home and don't expect help from the blue shirted-crew. read more

Dustin T. hit the nail on the head!! Customer service at this location (particularly in reference to getting devices repaired) IS AWFUL! I had the Best Buy Geek Squad warranty on my cell phone, and I had paid for the entire 2 years UP FRONT. Every Best Buy I've interacted with up to this point with getting my phone repaired has been great. However, I came into this store about a week before my warranty ended to get my phone replaced, because I had dropped it and chipped part of the screen. The employee told me that he wasn't sure if they could replace it, and I assured him that I have had it replaced before for a cracked screen without any issue. He calls SAL over, and Sal tells me that it's a *cosmetic* defect. OK, sure, the chip didn't have a crack that went all the way across the screen that made the phone unusable, but my warranty specifically stated that my phone would be replaced if the screen was damaged. I took my phone to the Best Buy on 7401 Lemont Rd in Downer's Grove, and they were extremely pleasant and helpful, even without an appointment. I would definitely go to the Best Buy in Downer's Grove instead of this one. read more

This 5 star review is for Jeremy, an extremely nice employee who helped my husband and I look for appliances for about two hours. We are building a house and needed to pick out a refrigerator, washer/dryer, and TV. Jeremy was fantastic. We knew what we wanted in terms of the refrigerator, and Jeremy helped to narrow down a few brands and showed us options that fit our needs list. He also helped us pick out our "dream" washer & dryer (who knew there was an app for your appliances to let you know that your laundry is done?!) after hearing what we were looking for. He was very patient with us, and listened to what we were looking for before recommending any products. I didn't get the "salesman" vibe from him at all. When it came to the TVs, Jeremy knew his stuff. He walked us through all of the different options, brands, technology, the works. He also talked us through what sub woofer would be best based on our home entertainment system we are getting installed in the house. We know exactly what we're going to purchase thanks to his expertise and guidance. Unfortunately, we left empty handed, as our home will not be ready until mid-November. We're going to try to see if we can have them hold our appliances for us if we can purchase them during the 4th of July sale. Even though we didn't purchase anything, Jeremy still helped us till the last minute we walked out the door. I would definitely recommend this location to others, solely based on Jeremy. read more

I ordered a cartridge for a label maker on Aug 26th for pickup at the store and they charged my credit card,$15, that day, telling me the cartridge would be in the store in about a week. On Sep 1, I got an email telling me they could not fill the order, and my card would be reimbursed within 10 days, and if I didn't get the refund, to contact my card issuer. I've never heard of this response from any merchant before this. On Sep 11th, I filed a dispute with my card issuer, and it was resolved with a credit to my card on Sep 20th. This is terrible customer service from a company as big as Best Buy. read more

I feel like this Best Buy is really going downhill. I came here on 2 different occasions to find PS3 games and their selection was extremely unorganized, meager and they didn't have the games we were looking for. Nothing seemed to make sense and everything was out of place. This was a full 3 weeks after Christmas, so I figured everything would be put back in place after the crazies came in to shop. We ordered all of the games on Amazon. Best Buy lost our sale(s). Plus, now they have these guys there that ask if you are finding what you need and then bait & switch and start talking to you about switching cable companies. It wasn't until I looked at the guy's shirt that I noticed he wasn't employed by Best Buy. What's up with that? I had a great experience while doing some Christmas shopping at Best Buy. Upon walking in the staff was friendly and greeted me. Getting to the department I was looking for a staff member right away found me and asked if they could help, which I did need help. They gave information and answered all questions I had. They helped me carry my products to the check out counter, price matched my item, and offered to help me to my car. I haven't been in a Best Buy for 2 years and I was so pleasantly surprised. This Best Buy has the worst customer service I've encountered in a while. I called because I bought something online and it arrived damaged. I wanted to see if I could exchange it in store because I need the item fast and I also don't want it shipped to me again because I don't want to receive another damaged item. I tried to explain this to the young woman/teenager on the phone. She seemed very bored and unconcerned with my problem. First, she transferred me to an automated system that had nothing to do with my question. Thinking it was just a mistake, I called back and got the same girl. I was literally in mid sentence when she rudely cut me off and said, with plenty of teenager attitude, "hold on." She then transferred me to another Best Buy store almost an hour away for no apparent reason. I called back a third time and informed her she was being unhelpful. She actually mocked me saying in a sarcastic tone "oh really, I'm being unhelpful?" I asked to speak to the manager and she transferred me god knows where. It rang and rang and no one ever answered. I called back, was on hold for 5 minutes, and then the phone just disconnected. I will be returning the item and buying a replacement at another store, even if it costs more I'm not giving a dime of my money to a company that treats customers so badly. Only call here if you want to deal with bratty teenagers or to just be hung up on after waiting on hold. read more

I paid for a dryer to be installed. Scheduled it to be installed 4 days later. By the end of the scheduled installation date nobody arrived, no phone call to tell me there was an issue. Called the after hours service to find out what went wrong and the guy had no explanations, offered no apology, just said he would schedule for next week. I asked how I would know they would show up then, he said he didn't know and wouldn't give me his name or pass me to his supervisor. I understand things can go wrong but there doesn't appear to be anyone who accepts the task of remedying the situation. I'm looking for somewhere else to get the dryer from. read more

I will never purchase another item from this store or any other Best Buy store again! I suspect most of us (like myself) never read the fine print. However, I would not expect that most items must be returned within 15 days. Well, I purchased an item, took it home and hooked it up only to discover that this wireless device was not going to do the job. I went back with the item, in its original packaging (except for the outside plastic wrap) and was told because I exceeded the 15 day limit, they could not take it back. I asked to speak to a manager who told me the same thing but also added that they could not take it back because I had opened it. WHAT?! How else could I learn that it was not going to work unless I opened it and tried it out.
