This business hides behind "the Oreck name for outstanding reputation and customer service". The Westmont storefront has a large Oreck sign outside, for example. I called about Oreck parts for my purifier and Paul pretended to search for the parts, the same purifier (DualMax) without a positive outcome. He suggested PureAir (which i thought was Oreck, also) and we did transaction over phone. Very spendy over $650.00 & i was disappointed when i opened pkg & NOT AN ORECK. I read the manual and knew this was not a good item to have around my home (unsafe for pets & humans during air cleaning hrs). Kinda scary...My phone msg to Paul was for him to return my call to discuss return. He didn't call...I am out $20.00 shipping fee & $60.00 restock fee. Never even turned purifier on!!! Super shady store, buy at your own risk!! I just ordered Oreck Touch replacement filter online and didn't get what I ordered. When I told the store that I didn't get the right stuff, they said it's the right part. The blue generic part is just a bare sponge and has no filter. Although their website made it sound like it's a genuine Oreck product, it wasn't. I don't mind the genetic stuff so long as it does the same thing but there's no way that this piece of sponge will do the same as the original filter. The minute I said I want to know the return policy, I stopped getting any more text response from the customer service. This business is not trustworthy. read more

I bought a vacuum from Home Depot it was a Hoover purchase on 9/25/21 it was under warranty for 3yrs . Called Hoover they still under warranty take to The Vac Shop on Belmont in Chicago, I did as requested , Vac Shop said they would fix it for $150.00 not accepting my warranty. Ordered a part for my ShopVac, an inlet deflector bag holder. This part was listed by ShopVac's Part Number. That means to me that I should get a ShopVac branded part! I needed it quickly so selected the UPS-2nd Day Air option. The very next day after ordering I get a shipping confirmation email from The Vac Shop stating my part went out on UPS-2nd Day Air. Well when the time elapsed past when I should have received the part I called. I was told oops, it went out regular mail. How does this happen, especially when your shipping email you sent specifically notes shipping method, and the price I paid for it. Oddly though your shipping confirmation email supplied no tracking information. I then had to ask for a refund and told it would process in a few days. Meanwhile the part shows up and it is in fact NOT a ShopVac branded part, but rather a cheap 3D printed copy of the branded part. So basically, they robbed the customer twice, with actual shipping change and by providing junk instead of what the customer was led to believe would be a ShopVac Part, not a 3D copy of a ShopVac Part. With Patents involved, I don't even know if that is legal. I work for the Feds and will get to the bottom of that too. This business is not to be trusted. Our six month old Oreck Edge vacuum cleaner broke four times since having it with something different breaking each time. Went to The Vac Shop on Belmont Ave where we bought it and finally said this unit is a piece of crap and I want a new unit, not another fix. They actually gave me a new unit. How about that?! That's customer service! Kudos to Frannie for all your help and patience. Please note I don't blame The Vac Shop for the issue I was having with the vaccum cleaner but poor design by Oreck. Bought a new Hoover upright. You'd think it would be easy to find belts for a Hoover, but not so much in Springfield, IL. I went in to Sears once. Not only did they not have any in the store, but they ordered from Sears.com, which I could have done at home. Why have a store? Then it took seven to 10 days to get the belts delivered. I have two cats and a dog. You can guess what my carpets looked like by the time we finally got the belts. So next time I went on eBay and found the Vac Shop. Long story short, I got three belts for less than I got two from Sears, and they were in my mailbox in 48 hours. Excellent email communication as well. At this point, I wouldn't shop anywhere else for vacuum supplies. read more

The first time I ordered a filter for a Bissell 3 in 1 vac I couldn't find a filter anywhere locally and it was shipped quick, fit the model perfectly and matched the first one.It was perfect and all went well. This time I'm ordering a washable filter for the same vac. I like the little Bissell just for picking up sand and hair after the dogs. Called about tracking it down and they were very dismissive. Said they would file a claim, but didn't really seem to care.. No apology. Ordered a replacement and selected UPS. It took 14 days from the time the order was placed until delivery by USPS 1st class mail, most of which was taken up in processing the order. Wow. I needed parts to repair my Kenmore Progressive vacuum. One of the two parts I needed was not available from Sears and the other was twice the cost than I got at Vac Shop.
