The experience is lonely and if you try hard enough you could actually get your feelings hurt.When they started they used to use secret shoppers to test the experience. I am not sure if the service we get is poor because they purposely need more help and they treat everyone bad in case we a secret shopper or if the millennials and others so unlucky to work here just really think their whole job is to stand around and hopefully see someone steal or maybe they think we all don't have any money and are not worth it. My 5 year old iPad battery died. I went online and scheduled appointment at Best Buy for battery repair, which is a choice online when scheduling appointment 3 days prior. I called to make sure my iPad wasn't too old to have battery replaced and was told it would take about 2-3 days. I arrive at the store and I was told they don't replace iPad batteries and only Apple stores will do it. This is the second time I was told something from this location only to find out something totally different at store level. I won't ever waste my time visiting this store again. read more

Horrible service! The employees are a bunch of Zombies with blue shirts looking to walk aimlessly without any purpose. As you approach a Zombie they either run away scared or look like someone just unloaded some buck shot up their ass. The zombies at the check out are the worst. They actually have to have human contact so they just stare at your blood and guts as their mouths water like Niagara Falls. I pop into Best Buy looking for a UBS. I was stop at the door by security who is very pleasant when he asked if he could help me. Uber driver was sitting outside. I told him that I was looking for a USB for an external drive. The professional, standing at the door booth next to him told me "its a proprietary item not sold separately" and they don't have a subsittute. I wouldn't give up so I drove across the street to Office depot/ office max, where a young lady pointed me to look. Bingo! Found a connector. I was given the WRONG information. STAY AWAY FROM THIS WASTE OF TIME BUSINESS! Went into the Dearborn location to purchase tv mounts and mounting services. Ended up purchasing multiple mounts, a tv, and mounting services for each tv in my house. Set an appointment right then and there in store to have the work done everything paid for. 2 weeks later on the appointment date with the arrival time between 7am - 1pm. I hear nothing from anyone: Not geek squad, not the store, not customer service. I check my receipt to make sure I have the right date, I do. I call in to see what's going on and they confirm that I do have an appointment scheduled via there automated system. As I get to a customer service rep she says she sees no changes with my order, but they have to reschedule. After I just wasted half of my off day I can't even get a reason as to why this negligence took place, but they want me to reschedule to hope they show up the next time. I asked when were they planning on telling me they needed to reschedule. You have my # of file, I made the appointment in store, no word of anything. I bought a tv from here and paid extra for the warranty. Well the tv didn't work so I brought it back to use my warranty. They said because of the size of the tv they can't fix it in the store someone has to come to my house during a pandemic. So they gave me a number to call and the number didn't work. Bought a refrigerator waited a week just for them to call me the day of and reschedule wasn't really a big deal until I couldn't get ahold of anyone from the number I had to call to do so. Went up to the store spoke to Louis the manager that was trying to be (Pro active) well that's what he kept saying until I explained to him (Pro active) ment calling me a day before time not the day of lol. They sent two dumb men in a rented truck that had no idea that refrigerators are literally always brought in sideways. The door is a 36" wide threshold. Worst customer service ever!!! Writing this from the parking lot. Went in to get a 4K tv and soundbar that I saw online and said was available at the store. Couldn't locate in on the shelves so I waited patiently for 30 minutes while the 3 people working the section dealt with the same people. Then I went walking around trying to find someone til I found a manager who would barely stop and help as I'm waving my hands asking for help. He rudely said he had 3 people working and to just wait my turn and walked off. Waited 20 more minutes and asked again and was told the same. So after almost an hour I'm leaving and going to Walmart across the street. read more

There are a couple of things that can bring the life of a road warrior to a complete halt: 1. Having your credit card compromised by some yahoo that tries to buy $500 worth of crap at a Target in Brooklyn and 2. A dead laptop after dinner time when there is work to be done the next day. Lucky me, both of these things have happened to me within the last two weeks! The charmed life continues... Tonight it was Number Two (how appropriate). Luckily enough, I was packing and went to the MacBook Pro that I had along for the ride. The problem, though, is that my customer requires me to use a wired ethernet connection (1992 called, they want their connectivity back) and MBP was sans that 'luxury.' A quick and harried search of Yelp told me that there was in fact a Best Buy not far from the Royal Digs I was temporarily inhabiting. I fired up the Jaguar Hertz had graciously provided for the week (aka Chevy Sonic....truly a wolf in sheep's clothing) and off I roared. Every time I enter a Best Buy, I lower my expectations in the hope of not being disappointed. Usually, though, the Best Buy Boys succeed in lowering the bar. Tonight this was pleasantly NOT the case. I entered the store, was greeted, and off to the computer section in search of Mac Toys. The guy working in that section wasn't a Mac guy and didn't try to hide the fact, so after explaining what I needed, off we went. Of course, just to make life more interesting, I decided that I also needed a video adapter so that I could show off my Mac on a giant projector (just in case). This didn't throw my guy for a loop at all. Scouring the shelves, we found the last surviving Mac Ethernet Connector and tore it out of the Smithsonian Curator who was pining to put it in the Collection of American History (right next to that Commodore 64). As luck would have it, this Curator was of the physical stature most commonly associated with this crowd, and it only took a slight push to cause him to have an Unfortunate Accident. While he was bracing for the inevitable fall, the adapter flew from his hands. Being the deft and swift type, I was able to intercept it before it intersected with the Best Buy Floor. Nirvana! As a bonus, the video adapter was prominently displayed just a row away. Two for Two! With minimal Weeping and Gnashing of Teeth (for all of the non-curator types, that is...). Check out was just as smooth with none of that usual Best Buy Garbage about purchasing Extended Warranties and the like. Nope, scan my stuff, get my Rewards Card info, give me a total, take my money, and get out of my store. The exact level of customer service I want when I'm trying to pay and go. OMG, a pleasant Best Buy Experience! As I write this review, still basking in the afterglow of The Experience, a slight tear is forming at the corner of my left eye. Not because of The Experience, but because the Royal Digs Wall AC unit is blasting cold air towards the work desk at such a rate that tears and frostbite are forming on some of my facial features. But nonetheless, it doesn't diminish The Experience. WIll I pack up the house and move to Detroit because of this life changing event? Well, let's not get carried away...but when I need Best Buy Toys in the future, I would seriously consider a multi-hour drive just to repeat the experience. read more

Let me start with we love Best Buy. Our favorite store is in Taylor. We also purchase online. Well we bought a mini fridge and had it delivered. It had a large dent so I called customer service. Rather than wait to have UPS come back and pick it up I decided to exchange it in the store. The closest location that has it in stock was Dearborn. So off I go with my son. The customer service rep looked up the info and had someone take the damaged item. She hands me a post it with the item number written on it and told me to find one of the only 2 sales reps on the floor to get it down for me. Seriously???? Um isn't that YOUR JOB???? I couldn't find anybody available so I went back and told the that I didn't think it was my job to do that! She then said she would send someone. Nobody came. Luckily a salesman who was helping someone else get something down was near and I asked him to please get my item. When we returned to the customer service desk I asked if she could give me a discount for my inconvenience. Nope. We took our fridge and left. The next day I called customer service and they are sending me a gift card. I will never go to this location again. Awful experience. read more

I had a very negative experience at this location about a year ago while purchasing a pc laptop. I was unimpressed by the sales associate who completely ignored me, despite me standing in his face. After literally begging him to help me, he was "too busy" typing something on the computer to assist. I was ultimately helped by someone else after SEEKING them out myself. They did not have the laptop in stock, even though the website said there was in store availability at this location. I even pulled the website up on my samsung phone and proved that the website says they "should" have it. I ended up purchasing a higher priced laptop and made sure to complain about the poor treatment from the salesperson in electronics. I took the rude associate's name and immediately called corporate from the parking lot of Best Buy. After explaining the story to the representative, I found myself getting angry all over again regarding the ill-treatment I received. She recognized that I was treated poorly and offered to send me a $25 dollar Best Buy gift certificate. I DECLINED that offer because my self-respect was worth much more than a $25.00 gift card and I decided that I would prove it by returning the $800 dollar laptop to another Best Buy. At the time I was an Elite or Elite Plus member with Best Buy based on my annual spending. I have not been back to a Best Buy since that experience and definitely not the one on Ford Road in Dearborn. I am due for a Smart TV upgrade but will be looking elsewhere, as I am no longer willing to spend money where I am treated with such disrespect. read more

We had an incredibly terrible experience at Best Buy. I purchased a remote car starter kit for my wife for Christmas and wasn't able to get an appointment until the end of January. When my wife arrived for her appointment for the installation, the Autotech agent, Josh, was very condescending and confrontational with her. She texted me to see if I could come in the store to support. Josh said that we purchased the wrong item and were past the return policy. He said it should have been purchased as a bundle with wiring and other items needed for installation. The box clearly says the remote starter is for the make, model, and year of our car. If Best Buy requires items to be purchased as a bundle at the same time, there should be a process in place to ensure customers don't purchase half the items needed and have no option to return. I also explained that we booked our appointment shortly after we had exchanged Christmas presents and Best Buy didn't have any appointments available in our area until late January. Since we weren't able to get an appointment until late January, I would expect we should still be able to return and purchase the correct items. As Josh was unable to act professionally and offer any solutions, we requested to speak with his supervisor. Brandon offered us store credit even though we just wanted to get it installed and were willing to pay the difference for the additional items needed or receive a full refund on our credit card. I called Brandon's supervisor, Nick, attempting to find resolution and made no progress with him either and he refused to give me number of anyone else above him. I am emailing you to complain about the poor customer service that I received when I attended a best buy store. Last night I went to shop at the Dearborn Best Buy store (transaction #04100057287100610 at store #410). My fiancé and I were looking for a specific Wii game. Now keep in mind, prior to me coming in for this game, I was in there 15 minutes prior to purchase an ink cartridge for my computer. I had a wonderful experience at that time. I left out and went to gamestop, and we were going to purchase the game there until I decided that because I had an excellent shopping experience a few minutes earlier that I will just go back and purchase the game at Best Buy. Now, when we went to the Wii game section, we could not find the game or any assistance. So my fiancé went to the TV section to find someone that could help. There were two (2) gentleman, AMIR and YUSUF, that were standing in the TV section talking amongst themselves. My fiancé pointed at them to try to get their attention so that they could help us. AMIR looked up and yelled across the store "Who are you trying to get?" My fiancé then says that we need help finding a game. They had not moved from their original position. Then they proceeded to walk over to our location and AMIR then says "I aint for all that pointing" to my fiancé. I was thrown back by his attitude. My fiancé then tells them the game that we are looking for. they proceed to walk over to the Wii section still holding on their personal conversation. Spurts of the conversation that I got was " I can sell the house for $7,000. She aint that cute for him to keep her there is she don't want to be there". They proceeded to talk about real estate and selling property a they looked for the game. Then AMIR walked over the glass case and proceeds to say "we have it, its locked up" and taps on the glass. NO EYE CONTACT and with a RUDE tone in his voice. At this time, I don't even want to know if I want to purchase the item. My fiancé says lets get it and we tell AMIR that we will take it. He opens the glass case and he and YUSUF, continue their conversation as they walk us towards the register. HE NOT ONCE ASKED IF WE WERE GOING TO PURCHASE ANYTHING ELSE OR ASK IF WE WERE ALL SET! They walked up to the register with us trailing behind them, still holding on this conversation in front of us. We get to the counter, AMIR gives the game to MIKE and leaves. Didn't even tell us to have a good night or nothing. This was the worst shopping experience I have ever had at Best Buy. I have been looking for a new laptop and camera and found both of what I wanted at best buy. But with so many options to by the same product now, I don't even know if I want to purchase the item at ANY best buy store. I am in the customer service business as well as have been an MYSTERY SHOPPER for 7 years. And honestly, if I were mystery shopping this location, YOU WOULD HAVE FAILED. I just could not believe the POOR service that I received from both YUSUF and AMIR. I hope that the customer service at this location gets better. With this economy being so bad, customer service is the only way that companies stay afloat. Not the products themselves. read more

When I finally found someone she said she couldn't assist me but would call someone who could. I waited another 10 minutes and, still, no one showed up. The site to store delivery does not work at this location. The confirmation email notified me that my order was available for pick-up. Upon arriving at the store, my order was not available or locatable. The Manager supposed went on the floor to look for my item. After 30 minutes of standing and waiting, he never returned and my patients ran out. I cancelled my order but before leaving the store, I decided to check the floor myself. It took me 30 more minutes but I was able to locate the last copy of the item I wanted. Don't waste your time with site to store at this location. read more

I'm afraid my review actually has to do with Yelp*'s listing itself, which requires a correction here. Best Buy is not near Dearborn, but IN Dearborn, not Warrendale. Even if you're talking about the Circuit City store north of Ford Road (which went out of business some years ago), you're still not in Warrendale but Dearborn. From Southfield Freeway service drive, Paul Street forms the north entrance to the North Fairlane shopping center and Fairlane North Technology Park, and to the Fairlane Meadows shopping center further south across Ford Road (where Best Buy is). Paul Street marks the actual border between Dearborn and Warrendale over in that vicinity, which I know for a certainty because for many years Paul was never repaired due to its running between Detroit and Dearborn. The street was only finally fixed some years ago when Detroit finally tore it up and repaved it, and then sent the bill to Dearborn for its half share of the cost. read more
