Bought a dishwasher. Got it home, installer said it was the first one he had ever seen with water in it. So it was used or returned. Called the store. Nope it's brand new. Even though the box has been opened and torn and taped A couple of moths later called to have iPhone battery replaced. Ok come in at 3 tomorrow. I wait in line for a half hour. The geek squad at this location is absolutely terrible. Took my PC in to install some new parts (GPU, PSU). After instability occurred, I brought it back in, geek squad nearly refused me service because I didn't have an appointment. What!? You're the ones who did something wrong and realistically would want to make it right. After waiting a few minutes, other tech was sent out to turn my computer on and off a couple of times and tell me it's fine. Took about 5 minutes. Nothing else happened. Wouldn't go back for IT or tech support in a million years. (Let me add that the installation was $80, you'd expect them to do it right and TEST for stability) read more

Very Poor Service by the Sales Staff. You have to wait 20-30 minutes before you spend nearly $1,000 on a laptop! They don't seem to care that you are there, don't appreciate your business, and don't even acknowledge you as you stand there... waiting! If I could give them 0 stars I would. I paid for a range and hood to be delivered and installed. The hood came damaged so the technician took it back. When I called about getting the hood re-delivered and installed, I was told I'd have to wait 24 hours to get a status update. I waited 48 hours only to be told I'd have to wait another 24 hours. So I waited and tried again only to be told I'd have to wait some more. These items have already been paid for. Don't know what the issue is. This can't be the only hood they have in stock or in their warehouse. I know I won't be purchasing anything else from here and I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone no matter what state they're in. I wish I could rate a 0 star. I did a curbside pick up for my husband for a video game. We got home and when he opened it up, there was a blank cd with a sticker that said Red Fall. The store was to close in 10 min and I live 20 min away. I called customer service and they told me to take it back to the store. As soon as they opened the next day, I took it back in and they said there was nothing they could do and I had to call Microsoft. I have spent so much money at this store and also have a Best Buy credit card. I will be closing that out and will never buy anything from there again. I was just in the Best Buy store on Miller Road in Flint. They were the RUDEST AND LAZIEST sales staff I have ever encountered. I waited for almost ten minutes for a sales person. I needed a question answered about a Ring product. I then had to go looking for someone to help me. when I did ask the sales person a question he all that barked at me. I'm not really sure why this Best Buy gets such a bad rap at all. I've always found it to be a decent place to buy everything from TVs to laptops at competitive prices, even if it is a big box superstore, which I don't always love. I've shopped here several times over the years and never walked out frustrated nor have I stood around waiting an eternity for someone to help me. Nope, not once. Am I the exception to the rule? Maybe, maybe not, but I have a hard time believing that they are that bad. I've never been ripped off, steered into buying something I didn't want or pressured to buy extra insurance for any product here. In truth, we buy a lot of our electronics here at this particular store and have never encountered any kind of problem. My husband and I recently purchased a new TV for one of the spare bedrooms in our house, along with a "fire stick" to access Amazon, Hulu and more download more apps. We paid $202 out the door. The TV we wanted had been advertised on sale, but that had just ended. The sales associate looked it up and offered the same price it was being advertised at with a competing retailer. We didn't suggest it, she did because she had seen the other store's ad. She grabbed her phone, found the store's online ad and adjusted the price for us. It was as simple as that. The girl that waited on us was friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help. She asked us about our weekend plans and chatted with us in a friendly manner as she rang up our purchase. We didn't have to hunt around for an associate, either. We were in and out of the store within 20 minutes, tops. We were greeted entering the store and leaving as well. The service really couldn't have been better. It's true that Best Buy, like all electronics superstores, has changed a lot over the years and this particular BB is no exception, but I felt the service, selection and prices were better than they had been in years and I've shopped here for a long time, including at their previous location on Miller Road. I found a really helpful person in the TV area, which really helped me pick out the TV I was looking for. However, they did not have the one in stock that I selected. So, I went home and ordered it from Best Buy online and it was delivered for free. My only concern is that the bricks and mortar store does not get credit for the sale. If people want to have places around where they can actually experience the items before they purchase, make returns, and get service, they need to buy there. read more

Incompetent staff. Will lie about thier inventory so they dont have to do their jobs. I have walk in and asked for something by SKU #. When they say they have 1 left in stock I ask them to look. After they look they tell me they're out. I go look and find it. Ordered a new fridge from Best Buy for delivery and installation. I had originally called to change my delivery time but they assured me they would be arriving to my home around 7am. The night before I get a call stating that I now have a time window from 9-11. They show up shortly after 12. One of the two men comes Into my home to see the best route to get the fridge in and to look for my water shut off line. He looks no more than a few minutes claiming he can't find. He is unwilling to let me work with my husband on the phone to get this figured out. He was very rude and unprofessional telling me that he can't Install my fridge unless I know where the water line is and I'll have to call a plumber. That wasn't written in anything I read and if you can't locate the proper things to install something than maybe you shouldn't be Installing fridges. Again I'm trying to get back in touch with my husband or call a neighbor over to help locate it and the next thing I know they're leaving the fridge in my garage and driving off because again he doesn't have time for this. In the 10 or so minutes he was actually at my house he kept repeating himself that he doesn't have time and his schedule is too busy today?!?! I'm sorry but I just dropped $2600 to a new fridge, delivery, and install. I am a PAYING customer who should get what they are paying for and not be treated so rudely. You take the time to do what needs to be done PEROID!!!!! Upon talking to customer service, which they did apologize, but the only solution was to reschedule the installation which means wasting another day of my life, time and loss money and going even longer without a working. I am beyond disappointed With the service I have received today. Now they are telling me they won't even be returning for FOUR days to install my fridge. I would give it no stars if I could! I took my new iPad there for repair. The IPad was covered under Applecare+. I was told they were going to switch it out and I'd have a new one in three days. Got an email on the 3rd saying to follow this for updates. I clicked on it for days and it was never updated for days. I called Best Buy this morning for information and was transferred to a call center God knows where. They would not connect me to the store. All I got was a run-around with the girl obviously reading off her monitor. I asked to speak to a supervisor or the actual store. Both were refused. They claimed they sent me other emails, but they did not. I was told three days. Now they say the 8th, but give them to the 10th. I will NEVER go to Best Buy for Apple repair EVER again. I recently went in to browse for a computer. Taylor was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. I have no knowledge about computers and she was very patient and thorough. I don't like shopping but she made it a pleasurable experience. I ended up opening an account and purchasing a computer, printer, and ms office. This was a gift for my grandkids out of state. Taylor arranged for my daughter to pick up the computer out of state. I was so impressed I went back and purchased a laptop for myself, from Taylor, which I am very happy with that purchase also. I am not sure if it is because it is the holidays and all of the unemployed workers flood retail during this season or if it is because the store mismanages its training, but I really had a bad experience yesterday. I was only trying to change out a computer that I purchased a week prior and I got the straight arm. The guy behind the customer service counter said I could not return it. I originally purchased this computer for work and sent it to my IT guy to configure. Once my IT guy started to configure the computer he found that this actual version was a lemon. Because this was a known for a few of them having issues, this made sense. Since his name was on the order as the person being delivered to I asked him to go and exchange it. I called Best Buy first to make sure this was okay. They said yes, of course it is okay if he exchanges it and you will have no problem. After he tried exchanging it at three locations and getting turned down at three locations he mailed it back to me. This leads me to my original story. Getting turned down myself. Once I got turned down, I asked for the manager as my company does close to $100K of business with Best Buy each year. I am an elite plus member too. I wanted and easy exchange. He also said no. I was very taken back. I almost just left it there and walked out the door, but restrained myself. I demanded it they exchange it. They said they could connect me with a Geek Squad person in 15-20 mins and I reluctantly said okay. All this time the Manager covering customer service and the original customer service agent were very rude. I was taken back. Once the Geek Squad person greeted me, it was like I was taking to someone for the first time and she exchanged it no problem. I was very surprised by this as all the original person needed to do was the same thing and they could of easily created a good experience. Crazy.... Then I decided to write this review and noticed they only have 1.5 stars. In Yelp terms this is absolutely horrible. I get it now. Just a bad store in general. read more

4 out of 5 occasions I went here, and regretted having done so. This store is completely disorganized and ill-managed. I've always had problems trying to find staff in this place, and once you do it is unlikely they are able to assist you. On my last visit, after waiting for 20 minutes for someone to help with purchasing a laptop (incidentally, the most expensive item in the store), the customer service desk seemed like a reasonable choice. Upon getting to the customer service desk and explaining that a staff person was needed just to get this computer out for purchase, they tried to make a couple of phone calls and then just said "There is nobody available right now". My husband was wanting a Mac computer for awhile, so we decided to look for a computer because we had Windows 7 issues. We went and found a great salesperson Taylor. She made us feel comfortable and we bought $3,000 worth. Great service. Then we dealt with Geek Squad. What a waste of time. They spent 4 hours on our computer internally and did not fix the problem we were having. Set up an appointment. Called to tell them when I would be home. They never came and lied about calling me. We packed it up and headed to Flint. Met Donntell and had told him the truth on how we felt. He felt disrespected and told the counter girl to return everything and for us to leave the store. Recently bought a new Router/Modem from Best Buy, got excellent advice from the associate as to which one to buy. I have had no issues since installing the new Router/Modem.....it's very important to buy the correct product based on what you are doing with your internet service, in my case, streaming TV on up to 4 TV's, having the correct modem/router eliminated the poor service/connection I was getting. read more

Shopping for a laptop, I had to spend about 15 minutes finding a blue shirt that could help. I asked some very specific questions and blue shirt said he could assist me. We walked over to the laptops and I confirmed the specific question, this time the blue shirt replied with an inconsistent answer and changed his answer to reflect only the most expensive laptops would work for me. As I was browsing the select few that fit my criteria, another Best buy employee changed the price tag to one that was $50 MORE. I asked the employee if they would honor the previous price, that was displayed up to that point, he stated NO, the new price is what you will pay now. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THE FLINT BEST BUY! Okay so backstory: I took my stimmy to Best Buy to get me a working washer and dryer, my dryer was broken for the past year, and my washer finally crapped out on me. I had one picked out, but when I went to purchase found out they had a slightly more expensive set on sale, and an open box washer where I could save an extra $200. So- I got the upgraded set (mind you this still set me back $1700), but super excited to finally have a really nice working washer and dryer. Had to wait 2 weeks for installation. They came to install, and said they couldn't do the drier because the gas hose didn't match my gas line so I had to buy more parts and do it myself, but said the washer was installed. While I was at the store, my basement was flooded by the washer, which was dumping water all over from below the washer. I called them instantly, and they said they would bring me a new one, but the soonest they could do it was the following week. So, I take time off work to be there, and no one showed up. Called again, they said the order was never put in the computer . So I'm like, well can y'all do that now? And she said NO. I would have to go to the store since it was an open box item. So I take my happy a** back to Best Buy, and wait while dude is selling stuff to other people (seriously for like half an hour), then when it's my turn asked him to please sit with me this is going to be a conversation, to which he laughed because I don't know apparently this is funny but once I started to explain he indeed sat down. Told him everything, and he was basically like "well there's not much I can do unless you want to pay $400 for a brand new one", I said excuse me? You see- because it wasn't on sale anymore, and they didn't have other open box ones, and it would count as a new purchase. Mind you, I've already spent $1700, and waited 3 weeks for a working washer. Then, a lady interrupts saying she needs to pick up the take out but wants to buy a dish washer, and at this point I'm crying because this guy is rude and not helping and I don't have another $400 to spend. Well, he tells me to just hold on AND LEAVES ME CRYING TO GO MAKE A SALE. On top of that, left me sitting there for at least 15 minutes before I just got up and left. So I'm sobbing on the way out, and the doorman sees me and starts LAUGHING and tells me to have a nice day. To say the least, I sat in the Jeep sobbing as I made my customer service complaint. The next day I get a phone call from the store, corporate is not happy, and they're going to go ahead and just exchange the brand new washer, but can't come out for another week. I explain that the washer is still full of standing water that isn't draining, and it already smells and he tells me that's the best he can do. Okay... fast forward to today. I had an appointment today for them to come remove the broken washer, and bring in the new one. Upon arrival, the technician informed me that they cannot remove the washer due to the water inside not draining. I was very clear in EVERY interaction via the phone, and with both people I spoke to at the store that there was water in the washer that I could not get to drain, yet he said he can't remove the washer and that someone else will have to come to drain it. He said he would make some phone calls and make sure I was taken care of, then left and I have not heard back from anyone. Later I received an email confirming the "completion" of my service, so I called the phone number to make sure it was clear in the system that my delivery and service were not completed. I was told they would try to figure something out, and assured me I would get a phone call back, and I have not heard back yet. Then, I received two emails asking me to reschedule for dates over a week from now. I called to see what is happening with that, and was told I need to make TWO APPOINTMENTS ON TWO DAYS  to have this taken care of. I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN TIME OFF WORK FOR THIS ISSUE MULTIPLE TIMES- I CANNOT believe that I am being asked to wait again for over a week for this to be resolved, with no phone calls or communication, and now I need them to come on two separate days??? What on earth kind of customer service is happening at Best Buy? To say this is ridiculous doesn't even begin to explain it. I am a single mom and a teacher, I CANNOT keep taking time off of work over an over for an issue that never should have happened- and I should not be being told that I have to wait again for over an week, and now do two service calls on two different days! I have not had a washer and dryer for over a month now, and after spending as much money as I did I NEVER should have been without one past the FIRST delivery that was supposed to be made! I purchased a $1500 Microsoft Surface Pro X at this location along with a detachable keyboard & pen & geek squad services. Within the 1st year I have needed issues fixed 2x now. Both times I came into the Geek Squad, Manager Lewis didn't want to help me saying I did not purchase the correct squad service plan, apparently there is a separate plan for hardware issues vs software issues. None of this was explained to me at my time of purchase. I assumed I had a Microsoft warranty to cover it for the 1st year, that I also purchased at the time of sale. Instead of offering a solution to my problems, Manager Lewis,both times, refused to assist me. Proving his very poor customer service skills & laziness. Maybe before promoting from within or hiring a manager, Best Buy should send a few secret shoppers his way and see how poor his skills & service abilities are, saving us customers time & money from purchasing anything from this Best Buy location. read more
