My first pleasant Best Buy experience. I almost fainted. I was greeted as I entered. I went to electronics and was immediately assisted by a very nice guy. He helped me get a Nintendo switch. I had to step up my game. Cuz I'm still a kid at heart and a serious gamer. I visited other departments here and I was very pleased that all the employees I encountered were nice and helpful. My wife and I had a great experience the day after Black Friday this year 2025. We had purchased a new tv online (Best Buy) on Black Friday. We were in town the following day so we decided to look at the tv we purchased in person. When we got there the tv section was very busy. We found someone to help us and they told us the tv we purchased wasn't on display but showed us the one that best represented it. Compared to all the other tvs it was not as bright. We had purchased the LG OLED B5. We asked one of the employees Jonathon if we could change our order with him and he said that he could help. He was also helping another couple at the time. He was so helpful and friendly. He took us to the back of the store and walked us through everything and my wife and I were very pleased with the service. Now we are just waiting for our new LG OLED C5 to be delivered. What a beautiful tv it is! The whole family is excited to receive it. I had an appointment with Geek Squad through Apple Support to bring in my iPhone 16 Pro, which was still under warranty, to check a pixel defect (a little black dot along the edge of my screen) which had suddenly appeared. I researched the issue before going in and read it was a manufacturing defect that would be covered by warranty. The guy I spoke with at the counter took one look at my phone, told me it wouldn't be covered, that I must have dropped it (I hadn't), and that the problem would most likely spread. He said the screen would have to be replaced which would cost over $300 and that I should have gotten Apple Care. I reminded him the phone was still under warranty, told him I hadn't dropped it, and explained that I'd read on the Apple Support website this issue would be covered. He basically waved me aside saying he sees this issue multiple times every day and to trust him...it isn't covered under warranty. He even went further to explain the color of the pixel damage (being black and not yellow or blue) meant I had dropped it. This seemed awfully strange to me. I went back and forth with him a few times telling him I'd read it's covered but he completely ignored what I was saying. I went home and called Apple support, which I should have done in the first place. They assured me it would be covered under warranty and made an appointment for me with the Genius Bar at an Apple Store an hour away. I just got back with my beautifully repaired phone and new screen at no cost to me as it WAS covered under warranty. The Apple rep said everything the guy at Best Buy had told me was incorrect and to just not go there for repairs. I'm thrilled to have my phone fixed, painlessly with just an hour wait, but still fuming I was fed such misinformation at the Frederick Best Buy. Hope this helps someone else! read more

We typically find what we are looking for here--both appliance and electronics wise. Today we were looking at TVs and loved the Oled Evo LG TV. The TVs are fantastic. I love the interactive experience you get looking at TVs at Best Buy. Plus, we were able to do side-by-side comparisons of the Bose and Sonos sound bars. The sales reps were knowledgeable about their specific products and gave us some good advice on installation. Seeing the TVs in person really helped--versus just seeing pictures online. This is a product that you really need an in-person, interactive experience for! read more

RE: This is a cautionary tale of Consumer Fraud perpetrated by Best Buy I purchased a Microsoft Surface Pro laptop at Best Buy in 2021. Because I had previously had very poor luck with the durability of other laptops like HP, I also purchased an extended warranty plan costing an additional $300 dollars. [Normally, I never purchase extended warranties since they are "rip-offs"] Last week my computer would not boot, so I went to Best Buy, Geek Squad with a warranty claim for repair. The manager, Brandon Duck handled the matter. What a crook. He was able to diagnose that the problem was a defective charging cord and tried to talk me into accepting a USED charger from his repair room as a replacement part in order to satisfy the warranty claim. He explained that Microsoft no longer repairs computers, but instead replaces them. I wanted a new cord, which he said he could not supply. The coercive conversation went on for more than 20 minutes. At this point, I asked to see the actual language in the warranty agreement and he said he did not have the agreement, but that I had been sent a copy of the warranty via email back in 2021. I save all receipts and correspondence regarding any purchase and I checked my archived emails for the warranty agreement. There was no correspondence from Microsoft or Best Buy in 2021. They had never sent me a copy of the warranty. All I had for documentation was my cash register receipt. Mr. Brandon Duck was lying and making stuff up. I still objected to accepting a used charger cord because I wouldn't be able to ascertain when the used cord would also fail, and possibly after my warranty had expired. [A new charging box and cord has a retail value of about $70.00] Then he said that I could receive a new computer and he would credit back the initial cost of my broken computer and apply the monies to the purchase of a new one. He said he did not have the exact model in stock, but he did have a similar model which cost an additional $150.00 more. [So instead of being able to make a claim against my warranty, I would now be forced to pay out additional monies. I agreed to that option, he then informed me that the computer, although on display in the store, was out of stock. So, we were back to square one after an hour of negotiation. So, now Mr. Brandon Duck said he would order the computer and ship it to my home, but that I would have to surrender my broken computer. I reluctantly agreed since that seemed to be the only option, according to the dishonest Mr. Duck. Thereupon, Mr. Duck tried to ring up the transaction and the computer system wouldn't let him cashier that transaction. At that point, Mr. Duck said he could order me a new cord and ship it to my home. This is what I asked for from the very beginning and over an hour ago. Anyone caught lying and misinforming customers would normally be embarrassed. Mr. Duck was not embarrassed and in fact doubled down on the attempted warranty fraud. He informed me that at least having retained my old computer, I would not lose any of my files. I remained very polite and corrected him saying, I would not lose any data with the replacement by a new computer since all my files were located in The Cloud. He was still trying to misinform and manipulate me. Lying Mr. Brandon Duck went way over the line of salesmanship right down the black and thorny path of consumer fraud. **Review: Best Buy Frederick - A Horrendous Experience** My recent visit to Best Buy Frederick was nothing short of a nightmare. This establishment epitomizes the worst customer service experience imaginable, with a myriad of issues ranging from unprofessionalism to outright discrimination. First and foremost, the blatant reverse racism I encountered was appalling. It was evident that the staff had a prejudiced attitude, treating customers differently based on their race. This kind of discriminatory behavior is unacceptable and has no place in a professional setting. It's shocking and deeply disheartening to see such practices in this day and age. The dei manager on duty was an absolute disgrace. Not only did they speak terribly, demonstrating a complete lack of basic communication skills, but their attitude was dismissive and condescending. It's astonishing that someone so unqualified could hold a managerial position. This person seemed more interested in belittling customers and employees alike rather than addressing concerns or providing any form of assistance. The abuse I witnessed and personally experienced as a client was so severe. The arrogant, ill-sponek hostile w environment, characterized by constant mistreatment and unreasonable demands, has caused immense stress and distress. It's a toxic atmosphere that no one should have to endure. In conclusion, Best Buy Frederick is a place to avoid at all costs. The pervasive racism, incompetent management, and abusive working conditions make it a blight on the community. I strongly advise anyone considering visiting or working at this location to think twice. This store needs a complete overhaul, starting with the removal of its current management and a thorough investigation into its discriminatory and abusive anti white practices. Best Buy used to be our favorite store to shop because we felt good about supporting local business and the quality of service was great. We still get good service with the Geek Squad as total tech members, but the last 4 times we have been in the store, we have received zero service. We spend thousands of dollars at Best Buy every year. It's not much fun to shop when you see every employee standing around the cell phone section but zero employees anywhere else. Zero star. I went to a different location in Rockville, MD and asked to buy cartridges for my printer. I forgot to check the model number so I gave them my printer model HP 6400 envy. They gave me #64 cartridges to bring home with just to found out it was wrong one for my printer, it was supposed to be 67XL. So I came to this Best Buy location which is closer to home and hoping I would get better service and asked if I can exchange it to the right model, since I don't have a receipt, but I paid it with Apple Pay which they should be able to track it in the system. After looking at the screen for a bit, the manager at the front, was a preggo had informed me that I cannot exchange it because I didn't have a receipt. We hadn't planned to buy all three at that time but developed a great rapport with the sales staff and took the opportunity to upgrade our old equipment. Sales staff in each department was very friendly, informative and very helpful in helping us determine the best product for us. When, days later, I had questions about the workings of the iPad, I met with a great guy from the Best Buy Geek Squad who was wonderful in explaining how this new device works. I would think that Best Buy would take more pride in customer service. None was offered. When I asked questions, I got a deer in the headlights look (you talkin to me). POS delivery and install services. POS customer service. POS company all around. Do not trust you time, wallet or home with the contractors that Best Buy Fredericks hires to handle their installations and deliveries. We have NEVER had a positive experience dealing with any sort of delivery from them. We were supposed to have our dishwasher delivered today between 1 and 4 -- AFTER waiting a month and a half to receive it. The delivery man called us at 11:30 AM to see if he could come at 12. We said we were unable to make that work and they they needed to come during their SCHEDULED WINDOW of 1-4PM. He decided to mark us as "Not home" and cancel the delivery because he could not wait until our delivery window-- then proceeded to NOT TELL US HE WAS CANCELLING ENTIRELY. The first best buy customer service person we spoke with around 2PM or so (we were looking for a delivery time update because we had reached back out to this man and his phone was off) told us they were unable to reach the delivery person to get an update on the ETA. They said technically it could still be delivered as late as 8PM. Waiting, waiting waiting.... We called again at 7:50PM and spoke to another customer service representative and found out that we had been marked as "not home" ........Even though I work from home and have been home ALL DAY. Previous experiences include leaving wires exposed causing electrical fire hazards. Our hallway was also completely destroyed with holes during a delivery and nothing was every done to fix that situation-- we called multiple times and were never able to get anyone to help us to resolve the matter. read more

Before I start. I wanted to be specific with Geek squad inside the Best Buy store. I made an appointment at 1 in the afternoon for (4:40p) as it's only available ASAP. I waited for three hours which is obviously so I waited until 4:15 and yes I came bit early. I'm single dad of three kids so I was hoping I could finish it sooner . Anyways, I make an appt to make a replacement for my cracked iPhone. I showed up and saw there's no customer around at GEEK SQUAD so I was like "perfect, I could do it." As I walked up to the front and asked for assistance as Joe stone came to me (geek squad employer) I explained the whole thing, and said sure can help me then he walked around the back room, and took him few minutes. I saw other guy comes with joe, other guy named Jeff. They just treated me terrible like I'm not their customer and especially I'm deaf therefore we have to writing it down on paper to communication. Unfortunately, they showed disrespectful for me and Jeff slammed on the counter front of me as spoke so loud which he knew I'm deaf. I felt bit threatened, but I still insisted telling them to inform me in the advance that technician isn't available (they didn't tell me that in first place) they just kept saying they can't help me at all until I showed frustration because I don't understand why they couldn't help me in any ways good for 30 mins and finally said there's no technician around. Why didn't they said this in first place? I lost my respect for them how they treated me as customer especially joe! He was courteous, multi-tasked with other customers and had a patient temperament. One could clearly tell that his affect is destined for customer service. He asked me multiple questions and took the time to fight the root cause of the problem. I can't thank him enough for what was an incredibly stressful day initially, turning into a seamless experience! Tonight was the second time in two weeks that I have placed an order and gone to the Frederick location to have them give me damaged Apple goods. Two weeks ago it was a $1,000 iPad Pro with a huge dent in the corner of the box and tonight was an Apple Watch with the outer carton ripped open. In both cases the BB rep handing me the product showed no concern when I pointed the damage out and said just bring it back if there is anything wrong with it. Even after asking for a manager they became rude. The girl tonight practically yelled at me, taking the inner packaging out and saying, see it's still sealed. I wonder how Apple would feel about BB taking care of their customers like this. You better know what you are buying because you will pay the price if you do not! This review goes for all Best Buys regarding their 15% restocking fee. But Frederick was the one who charged me the 15% restocking fee on a $750 camera that did not end up working out for me. It was not broken, it just did not fit my needs. So because of that they charged me $105 dollars simply for not buying the right product. They will tell you "it's the police" Yes it is and if you want to know what a dying company looks like, its best buy. 15% is a lot of money and it sure doesn't cost that much to "restock" a camera. They are trying to stay afloat but they are going about it the wrong way. Austin in the Best Buy Mobile area was helpful, also. They made the process of upgrading phones for my wife and I quick and painless. It was a very good experience! We've been coming to Best Buy Mobile for the past 8 years, and bringing family and friends along, also. We've always found the Associates in Best Buy Mobile to be very knowledgeable, and very helpful. Their service after the sale is outstanding, as well. Went there Saturday to pick up a Apple Watch my wife's brother bought from them went there today Friday almost 6 days later to get the watch fixed screen broken long story short first went in lady at the counter was like ok we can return the watch after telling her it was broken she goes the watch is still paired to the phone so tried unpairing watch couldn't do it they say go to the mobile place for help I go there the first thing the guy behind the counter says is watch is broken we're not returning it I proceeded to tell him that I just need the watch unpaired he says it is already unpaired witch he obviously didn't know how to unpair it so go on my phone on YouTube find out how to unpair it did that so there was a lady there listening to the conversation we were having I go back to store pick up she comes over and literally starts yelling in my face he already told you we are not returning the watch what are you coming over here for blah blah I said to her let me speak to the manager she goes he is one I said one higher then him so the other manager comes over starts to go on about how theres nothing they can do that I can sign up for a Best Buy gift card if I want to buy another watch thinking I don't have money or something funny thing is I could of bought 7 watch's if I wanted to so I then tell him why I have insurance on the watch Apple care mind you not one of them asked me do you have Apple care so he tells me go to geek squad I tell him about the lady and he's over there talking laughing with her never in my 27 years have I seen something like this before I would never do Business with them again I go to geek squad and the lady there new what she was doing and helped me with everything I came there for from the beginning read more

I then contacted BB customer service to tell them that this store won't answer calls, and they offered to try for me. They were then on hold for 30 minutes before they gave up. Then I was transferred to a different customer service number, they tried to call for me. They had same result. THEREFORE, I have lost faith in Best Buy. If I did buy something from them, I would have NO CONFIDENCE that I would get any help in the future if I had a problem or even a question. I will no longer be a customer of Best Buy after what we went through today. My husband purchased a tv on Best Buy's website for in-store pick up. Seems easy enough. They are supposed to email you when it's ready. 4 hrs later still no email. He went to the store a little before the closed, waited 45 min for 2 different staff members to radio to the back and try to find the tv. Well apparently they "can't find it" or they "don't have it." Seriously!? It's cyber Monday...how is your inventory off? They tried to sell him other TVs..??? before then telling him to cancel the order and reorder it online. Um no. Then we would lose the price we paid for it on CYBER MONDAY....literally the whole point of buying it this particular day. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because the manager gave us his card to call him. Not sure if you ever tried to call this Best Buy but it's IMPOSSIBLE to speak to an actual person. It's absolutely ridiculous that I NOW had to call the customer service line for them to say they can't change it to home delivery. My only 2 options are to cancel it (no) or drive to leesburg to get the tv that Frederick was supposed to have. Do not do store pickup at Best Buy. read more

Again on the phone and went to the store. They don't have the item. They said it was pulled but they pulled a PlayStation game instead of the actual item I bought. Morons. The managers are as inept as the staff. I stopped shopping here years ago. I am now remembering why. 2 months for Christmas gifts that I wasn't able to get in time but they sure did get their money. I even drove to 3 cities because they promised me they'd pull the items. And guess what... when I arrived.., YELP... they didn't have them there either. So I tried calling the Frederick store. Stayed on hold for 2 hours till the line disconnected. I wasn't really just sitting there waiting ... I do have other things to do. I just left it on speaker as I ran errands, cleaned and went to the post office. No one ever answered. It clicked as those it was ringing through and a couple times it rang and paused but no one ever picked up. I spent an hour on a chat and then was disconnected... my issue still unresolved. If I can offer any advice do not buy appliances here. We had a terrible experience and not one person called us back or offered any apologies, just blamed others for all the mistakes made. Tony that helped us pick out our appliances was nice, that was the only positive. We ordered our appliances in February and just last week got them all installed. We had issues with appliances not fitting, appliances being broken when delivered and delivery people not showing up. Best Buy does delivery through some other company and they are awful too. The manager never called me back when I called about our issues. Our microwave sticks far out but we are so done with Best Buy we are just going to deal with it. This review relates solely to the customer service from Best Buy over the phone and not this store in particular. My blu-ray player purchased was supposedly delivered the 1st time it was ordered, although no package was ever received. I called and told them the situation so they sent it again and the delivery was confirmed with a signature. The issue being that I and no one else at our house signed for or received it. The package was misdelivered to another address and signed by someone else who misspelled my name. Unfortunately, Best Buy has a policy that if their carrier, FedEx, says it was delivered to the correct address, which it wasn't, then you are basically out of luck as they take no further responsibility for it at that point. FedEx did confirm the package was misdelivered as well, although Best Buy and FedEx appear to just blame the other endlessly, which leaves me with no DVD player or refund and also having to pay for an item I didn't receive. Until this point, my experience with Best Buy had been good, but this sadly did not go well at all. As long as you have no issues, you should be fine, but if a problem does arise, be prepared for an unsatisfactory response to the situation and a lot of frustration. Customer service is severely lacking. Very disappointed and will think twice about using Best Buy in the future after previously being a regular customer. read more
