I had a crashed computer and was told that I can recover using microsoft 11 usb connection thumb drive and should use a different machine to download data from my live computer onto win 11 usb recovery.They had said it will work on any machine and operation It didn't. I just wanted the files that would recover the computer for win11 needed on my crashed computer which can be used to recover it. The misunderstanding came about when on my live computer as geek squad had instructed said "for this machine only and I interpreted it to mean it will not transfer to my crashed machine.Well, I may have misunderstood what the geek squad meant but the attitude of the manager was direct in a way that was rude and unprofessional when I had tried to return it. I spent $152 and is now lost. I had spoken to and was connected to their customer service the previous evening and I had explained my dilemma. They said they would refund it and a confirmation number was provided. When I had arrived at the store the manager said they were not going to refund the product , it is software and cannot be returned but their customer service said they would refund. The boyish manager in a harsh tone attitude, refused to listen to me about my contact with their customer service and the confirmation number. This angered me a lot. The smile on his face angered me to epic proportions and then I had left the store. Also, getting help means a long wait, The staffing is unorganized with very few workers available to help. Horrible service. I will not be returning. I gave 1 star because they won't allow you to give a review without at least one star. They don't earn a star at all. We bought 7 major appliances- the kitchen was all "Café Line" GE, plus an LG front load washer and dryer, and a 75" flat screen, for a major renovation on a house we recently purchased. I can only begin to tell you how horrible Best Buy's service after the sale was. After purchasing $16,000 worth of merchandise, we were told the delivery date. It was 10 weeks out- and we thought that was a considerable amount of time to take, but as we were going through a remodel, it was going to be fine, because we wouldn't be ready to install them until then anyway. After going through the receipt, my wife noticed one of the refrigerator models was incorrect. So she called the store(and here's where the sh!tshow begins), and you can't contact the store, specifically. Instead, they forward all calls to the store, to a call center, in either India or Brazil. And then explain they can't just swap out the model- we'd have to go back into the store, and rewrite the entire order. The original process too the better part of 3 hours to pick everything out and write up the order. When she finally took time out of her schedule to do what needed to be done, the woman helping her was inept as to the process which needed to take place, she finally called someone else to help with the process. This took 2 hours; to basically swap out one refrigerator for another. Delivery day finally came, but our appliances did not. We were sent a text that they would be delivered that day, but then they never showed. So, after waiting all day for a delivery that never came, we were back on the phone with someone at a call center, thousands of miles away, to figure out what happened. They had no explanation, and said they would contact us when they knew more. That took 3 days. Keep in mind that, at this point, we've had all our appliance removed from the house, and in our shop, getting ready to be sold. So we moved our refrigerator, washer, and dryer back into the house so we could store food and wash clothes. We were finally told that the order would show in 2 weeks, so we just decided to use our microwave until then. Not ideal, but didn't really want to reinstall all our old appliances for a couple of weeks. Delivery Day #2 came, and the exact thing happened again. And again, we were told it would be another 2 weeks! My wife then went back into Best Buy to locate our delivery, and the Manager on duty was so incredibly rude, that she left a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. 10 minutes after that complaint, a representative from Best Buy's resolution center called. That's just pathetic. She told the rep about the manager, who was rude, to the point of challenging her to call their corporate office. The rep assured her that this would be dealt with, and we would hear back within 48 hours on a new delivery date 2 days before Delivery Day #3, we got a call from the delivery person confirming our delivery and install, and my wife informed him that we would not need the installation, because our contractor offered to do it. Our salesman even said to just let the delivery guy know if we wanted to cancel the delivery, and they would just refund those charges. They said they would have to reschedule???? WTF? What difference does that make? It's as if they're trying we're trying to make our lives-and this experience- even more difficult than it was already turning out to be! We had to reach out to their resolution specialist again, to tell them what happened. Keep in mind, that we're' now living out of a microwave, feeding a family of 4, for over a month... After all that, the appliances finally showed, another 9 weeks after the originally scheduled delivery date. Happy that we finally had everything in, we were set to start a load of laundry, and the washing machine broke on the first load! Guess what? We were supposed to have a replacement in early November, and they canceled delivery TWICE, and put us back 2 more weeks each time, with no reason why it happened! So, after the second time, the said it would be delivered on January 11. I went to Lowe's, find the exact same model(for a $1 less), and they're delivering it January 7. Of course, when we told Best Buy that we just wanted to return the washing machine and get a refund, they came out and got it. 2 days later!! Safe to say, WE WILL NEVER SHOP AT BEST BUY EVER AGAIN. read more

Management is less helpful than their employees. The first repair worked fine and was well taken care of so i was happy till i had issues the second time and my nightmare began i brought it in for repair as normal and it gets shipped out then the repair goes to my house so no employee verified the repair so i was headed back to the store AGAIN within a hour of receiving it to be told if if it had come to the store unrepaired instead of my house I could've been helped. so Now its on its way to repair for the same issue i sent it out for on the second. time 18 hours of driving in 2 months and 6 hours in store for no resolutions to my issues. support phone line awesome and helpful even when i was frustrated. one geek squad employee there super helpful but management and one employee has made my experience bad. In the past I have had nothing but praise for the service at this store. Yesterday was a different story. The shelves were pretty empty, & I couldn't tell what other choices should have been there. It took me forever to find someone to answer a couple questions, and I got no more information than I specifically asked for. I proceeded to another area of the store and again had to walk around half the store and back to wait for someone to come out of the back room to help me. He was very kind and, in an odd place, eventually helped me find my item. When I checked out I asked the cashier to check my account as we had had a disastrous experience buying a washer and dryer a few months ago. The salesman lied to us, and the delivery was a week later than promised., making it extremely difficult with my new Hospice patient. After many phone calls, and terrible customer service one of the managers offered to put $70 (on a $2000 purchase) on my account for future purchases. Horrible Customer Service,time consuming and frustrating. Today's check-out: "I don't see anything here, sorry" Why was I surprised? At check out I had one item for a price check and decided against it. When I got to my car I had been charged for it. Again I wait in line so he can correct this error. When I get to my car that item was removed, along with other items I had bought, and recharged at a different price--WHAT? Third trip back into store--by this time it was not the small amount difference but the process that was irritating. When you're charged $6 for an item you didn't buy, a simple $6 return should be easy. ( made up amounts) However I got $4 back--huh? It was explained to me I had received a certain price on other items because they were charged as part of a bundle, and after returning the item I didn't buy it voided the bundle price. It was 1 phone cord and printer ink, and a cord I didn't buy---bundle? Just beware of prices,information-or lack of, and charges on your receipt--- and good luck when you return something you don't even have. read more

I would not recommend you buy any Apple products from the store they are the only store in town that has an official Apple representative. The Apple representative opened the packaging for the items that I wanted I need to return them. Best Buy said they cannot take them because they are open. And the Apple representative does not work for Best Buy. I would suggest you find another store that carries Apple products that you will be able to return them. It's crazy that the Apple representative didn't give me unopened items knowing that I would not be able to return them. Went into Best Buy for a dash cam, was looking for the one we wanted online in the store and couldn't find it, so we asked one of the sales associates, John if he knew where it was or if they had it, and we got so much more than the camera. We got an extremely friendly, willing to help, and hilarious man to make the trip to Best Buy so much more worth it and easy ! I wish I had something positive to say about my experience. I drove 2 1/2 hours each way for a laptop. I spent $617 on a laptop that does not meet my needs. I told the salesman I needed internet and itunes, and he sold me a chromebook that does not allow itunes. And you cannot call back the store directly to even find out a way to return the laptop via mail. Their Grand Junction location does not take calls, and the main customer service is not able to help me make a return via mail. For a 5 hour drive to purchase, and another to return this laptop and all my frustration trying to make it work after I told the salesman what I needed, I am very disappointed. I took it to Comcast as they are who has our cell phone contract. No one there could figure it out so they called Apple directly for me. Apple ran a diagnostic over the home and said it's an internal issue and I'd have to send it in and at that point we were like we should just get a new phone. Enter Robert. We went to Best Buy to buy a speaker and my husband said let's see if anything they can do and viola, a little of this, a little of that and I could hear my phone again!! I had them install a two way remote start kit in my truck. When I picked up my truck I noticed the check engine light was on (the first time it had ever been on). I gave it some time, and reset the code, which immediately set again. I contacted the store, and was immediately told it wouldn't have anything to do with their install. They said they would need to schedule an appointment to inspect it. While doing this the technician (different than the installing tech), said the paperwork said the check engine light was on when the vehicle came in. I immediately called original technician out as a liar. The technician in my opinion used the paperwork to cover his error. Out of curiosity I popped the hood on my vehicle and within seconds spotted the problem, the technician had disconnected part of the wiring harness, and failed to reconnect it. Upon reconnecting this, the check engine light was fixed. Bothered by the dishonesty of this employee I filled out their survey and asked to be contacted. Below is the verbatim response: "Good afternoon. I have reviewed your Geek Squad survey comments and talked with my installers. The lead technician that worked on your vehicle stated that he was responsible for disconnecting and failing to reconnect the wire that was causing your error code. He informed me that he was apologetic about this. The service engine light that he notated on his initial paperwork was done so before he performed any work on your vehicle. This could have been for a variety of non-Geek Squad related things, i.e., low oil, etc. To imply that our people went back after the fact to fill that in on your paperwork is unfounded. Our people have come to us when they have made mistakes that cost the company hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars without hesitation. My team of technicians are known throughout the community for providing the highest quality of service around. Mistakes happen to the best of us. Unfortunately, a mistake was made on your vehicle where the tech failed to replace an item that he unplugged to prevent doing physical damage to your vehicle. If there is anything else you need to add you can contact me at this email. Sincerely, Tony Oakes" Accepting responsibility for the physical error is a petty way of sidestepping the much more damaging fact that an attempt was made to cover up for the error. I've been a life long Best Buyer since I purchased my first portable Sony CD player back in grade school with my lawn mowing money. Since then, I've purchased a DVD player, a flat screen television, a Wii system, Wii games including Rock Band I & III, DVD movies, car adaptors, a Kodak printer and I'm sure little gadgets to fill in the gaps. Staff are very knowledgable about everything, if they do not know an answer, they point you to the right sale associate who does know. Negative stars should be an option for this Best Buy. My husband had an iPhone with a cracked rear screen covered by AppleCare. Unfortunately this Best Buy is the only option for AppleCare service this side of Durango. He made an appointment for the repair thinking it would take a few hours to swap out the back of the phone. He was advised by the receiving tech that the repair would take a couple of days because they do not stock the part. He was told his phone would be backed up to iCloud so that he could restore it upon completion of the repair. When he went to pickup the repaired phone, he discovered that his latest iCloud backup was 6 months old. They informed him that there was no way to retrieve the 6 months of photos that had been lost. They had already shipped the old phone parts back to Apple and were unwilling to recall the package from FedEx. In addition, they said Apple has a strict policy of not returning phone parts once they have been returned. They said it was his responsibility to backup the phone before bringing it in for repair. The 6 months of photos that were lost included a trip across the country to visit his 92 year old father, my 74 year old mother, our daughter, and a couple of dear friends we hadn't seen in many years. I was not worried about losing data or checking his backup because I trusted the so-called "experts" at Best Buy to double check his iCloud backup before removing the data on the phone, and he even assured me that they did so. The store associate who was at the store when we picked up the device assured us that checking iCloud backup is always performed by their techs at drop off. When we asked at the store how this could have been overlooked in this case, the excuse they gave is that they are overworked. That is unacceptable. Priceless irreplaceable memories have been lost. I will NEVER return to this store, and this store should have their AppleCare service status revoked. While I understand that it is the customer's responsibility to ensure their data has been backed up and my husband potentially misunderstood the tech to say that they would back it up, it literally takes 15 minutes for a so-called expert to check the iCloud backup to verify. I have NEVER taken an item to a genius bar where the Apple associate did not check and do everything in their power just to ensure no data loss. I understand that they don't HAVE to check but photos are priceless and BestBuy associates know that. It should be the first thing they do when they touch someone's phone. Not all consumers know how to do that. They are the "experts", and they are supposed to be there to help. As an aside, the inside of the store looked like a disaster. It was a complete mess inside. Absolutely terrible. In home advisor recommended an expensive system to solve our internet problems. Items had to be ordered, and they couldn't come out to do the install for a couple of weeks. When the tech came out, the in home advisor had not ordered the correct components. So we were out a couple of more weeks. When the installer came out, it was determined that this expensive system would not work. Also, they left these expensive components in our house until the next group could come out and install a new router. Even that doesn't work very well! And now they are charging us for this expensive system that didn't even work!!! Saying we didn't complain. We complained repeatedly and loudly, and apparently nobody heard. I stopped into this Best Buy while I was visiting from out of town, i'm from SLC. On my visit I was just wandering around as a consumer tech enthusiast. This store is different in layout from the ones i'm used to in UT. I know it's not cool to buy a CD anymore I was looking for some tunes for the road. When you are driving between the major areas it's not always possible to stream my music. I drooled on a few of the new TVs (sorry). I'm waiting for my Plasma to bite the dust before I buy a new one. I can't believe how big the TVs are getting and how thin as well. This place was clean and organized. I have visited quite a few Best Buys and this one is a nice Oasis. I probably wandered around the store for an hour. The people that worked there were kind and checked in with me. I wouldn't say they bothered me though. I had a few questions while I was there and I was given accurate information. Nothing drives me more crazy than an over confident rep who exaggerates the truth. I am very disappointed as since at least 2012 have exclusively used Best Buy when I need electronics. I was told when I purchased a laptop in 2012 I should get the geek squad protection plan and I asked what it covered and they said everything. Even if I spilt coffee on my laptop they would fix or replace. So since then I have always got the geek squad protection. Used it only a couple times but my grandson also uses my account and he has used the protection plan and when his headset broke they replaced it . in April or March of 2021 I had the vizio 75in computer that I purchased there go bad and they replaced it with a 75 LG. Well if started acting funny and did not know of anything that happened and after they saw a photo he said it was damaged. Well I was told even if damaged the warranty covered but also told him do not know of any damage. I was told we can order the part may be 600 or 1000 and you have to pay for repair so even the repair if I bought the part would not be covered. I have been a faithful customer of Best Buy and will never shop with them again and once my grandson pays off his purchase I will cancel card and go elsewhere. I am a senior single woman and thought I was protecting myself but was scammed by bestbuy when told the geek squad warranty covers everything. Go somewhere folks. do not use Best Buy read more

The best customer service I've ever experienced when dealing with cell service. We switched carriers (4 phones) and if you've ever done thus before you know it can be quit the process (buy back, credits, charges, sending phones in, etc). The Sprint Rep, Brianna, was amazing and helped with the process every step of the way (over a month process). She was absolutely amazing!!! I live an hour from this Best Buy location so I called the number on the website in order to find the best way to have them take a look at my iPhone which was having screen issues. I was told to take my phone to Best Buy when I called Apple's tech support number. I was assured by the people on the phone on two different phone calls I made to make sure I was doing things by their standards, that I could send my friend in with my phone and they would let him drop it off anytime regardless of my appointment time. Whenever my friend went in he said absolutely no one would assist him in the entire store and when he went to the geek squad counter they made him wait over an hour until they would talk to him because it was before the appointment time. They had zero customer service and acted as if he wasn't even there. When he was finally able to talk to someone they needed information other than what I had been told over the phone and after waiting for nearly two hours he wasn't able to leave my iPhone for the appointment they set for me over the phone. I had also been told that they had a laptop cable in stalk for $29.99 that would fit my laptop. When my friend gave the info I sent with him that came from them when I called, they finally found the right cable but it was $59.99 instead of the $29.99 price that I was quoted. I have talked to several people in my area who have had similarly negative experiences with this store. I will never buy anything here nor use any of their services and nor will my friend that went in that day. read more

Beware, this Best Buy will sell you used items under the guise of being new! I purchased a Garmin Vivofit, and when I got home to link it, it said the item was already linked under another account. With further inspection, I noticed that the wristband snap was very scratched and scuffed (the smaller one was pristine, which meant that the large wristband had been used, not the small one). I purchased this item under the understanding that it was a brand new item. There was no indication it was used, or the box had been opened. When I called to question them, the man simply apologized and said that it was a mistake, and he would grab me a new one off of the floor. I wasted two trips worth of gas to have to go back in and get the new one, when it should have been new in the first place. I'm very skeptical of this store now, and will probably keep my purchases to Amazon from now on. read more

Mr. DeCola's customer service skills are above and beyond most places I have ever encountered. I have had to visit Geek Squad numerous times and he is always patient to listen carefully to my "unskilled" computer knowledge explanation as to what "I think" may be wrong with my computer. First time I have shopped at Best Buy in years because they don't have very competitive pricing. Went into the store to buy a go pro and it took me 45 min to get an employee to help me unlock the case so I could look at one. I bought it and purchase the extended warranty. When I used it the first time the videos were coming out dark so I set it aside to return. Due to work it took me a few weeks to find time to return it. The people at the store told me they weren't going to return it because the 15 days passed and said they couldn't find me in their system for extended warranty. Even if I didn't buy the extended warranty how is a 15 day return window competitive with Walmart's 90 day return window. They customer service employees were rude and facetious. I went into this location today to return a car stereo with the intentions of buying a much more expensive one. After finding no one working in car electronics I began to wait, after about 10 mins I went to another department and asked for someone to be called to the department. another 10 mins or so goes by so I went and asked someone else, still nothing. 10 more mins or so a guy walked by and asked if I needed help, I explained what I needed and he said he would call them over. 36 mins waiting, still no one. So I left, I tried calling the store, 22 mins before a guy picked up and then hung up after I asked to speak to the manager, I called back... 11 mins waiting and a guy answers, I asked for the manager again and you wouldn't guess, yep he hung up again. I was extremely excited when I found out the old ToysRUs was going to become a BestBuy. I'm an audiophile/stereo nut/hifi buff/home theater enthusiast/gadget geek etc. and am a regular here. There used to be a guy that looked like the Captain in "Wall-e" that really knew his stuff, but he seems to have moved on. Honestly, most don't know much at all, but almost all are friendly and professional, unlike the complete idiots that used to work at Circuit City. Heck, the average age of a "Blue Shirt" must be around nineteen, so how could they know anything about hi end audio or video when the only "system" they've ever owned is an iPod and some ear buds? It really is a shame what they've done to the once venerated Magnolia name. No separates, only the very low end of the Acoustat and B&W speaker lines, and only one projector set up in less than an ideal environment. Audio/videophiles don't shop at Best Buy, but then again there are probably only about ten of us on the Western Slope. Their prices are competitive on TVs, Blu-ray players, laptops etc. but if you need a computer part, use the internet. Here's an example, I needed a Sata extension power cable so I called BestBuy. It took about ten minutes and three transfers before I got someone who knew what I was talking about. In stock? Yes. Price? $20 (plus tax of course). I bought it on line for $4 including shipping. An iPhone sync cable is $24.99 at BestBuy, $1.99 shipped on line. Don't even THINK about buying a $100 Monster HDMI cable here with your new HDTV. Monoprice has them for $2.50! Also, their "Rewards" program is beyond lame. In the past couple of years I've bought three laptops, three large flat screens, four Zunes (no Zune jokes, please!), an iPod or two, two or three Blu-ray players, a home theater projector and I currently have about $15 in my rewards account.
