I called the geek Squad phone number on the website and got a horrible surprise! The call was hijacked! I wanted an appointment for my printer to be cleaned and some non-english speaking person said he had to check for viruses. Lol and behold my computer was heavily infected. Remember, I was calling about my printer. So after installing an app he says my geek Squad anti-virus was stopped and would have to cancel my plan and buy a new one. I said I would just take my printer in, no thank you. He says thank you and hung up! I knew I was scammed so called the Lake Jackson store, got the real Geek Squad and talked to a really nice young lady who confirmed I called the right number but it wasn't them. Hijack! It didn't take any time to get an appointment, this time for my computer to check for damages. Plus she calmed me down for falling for the scam. Made me feel better. I left my computer there for a "thorough" analysis and am waiting to hear back. The young lady in Lake Jackson store was very polite, listened to me, was sympathetic, also patient because I could tell she was VERY busy. Made lots of notes and took care of everything! Couldn't be happier...well, let's see how my computer turns out By the way, they don't clean printers so I still have that problem. But I can only imagine how much this would cost without my Total Protection Plan! (Sounds like an ad! Sorry) read more

I required assistance from the Geek Squad; specifically the audio electronics department. I made an appointment online for 4PM on Wednesday; I arrived the 15 minutes before appointment (recommended ) and was promptly directed to rear of store where Roddy was the technician. He was very considerate and listened to my issue with backup camera on my vehicle. He thoroghly checked all the electrical connections to radion and camera and after ascertaining that the issue was a faulty transponder gave me the part number, I ordered and it was to arrive in store on following Thursday. He made me another appointment for Friday morning. He was very considerate, competent, and professional. read more

I understand we are in the era of Covid but dropping off my computer 3 weeks ago Sept 15, and never hearing from Best Buy Geek Squad again is unacceptable. I had called three times on 10-1, 10-6 and 10-9 and all they could say was "please understand with Covid things are taking longer". That's unacceptable. I asked this to be escalated to a Supervisor and was assured I would hear from someone in a day from the 10-6 phone. It's 10-9 with no followup. Today's call was dropped and of course no one called me back. I can't even begin to imagine how long it will take them to actually fix it since I don't even have an update on it at all. I am a photographer that needs my computer to work and I have now been out of work for 3 weeks. It's amazing how everyone else has to go to work during Covid but Best Buy. Very poor customer service. Had a 5:40 appointment to get a battery changed on an I phone. Arrived 5 minutes early. Waited while one geek helped a woman and the rest tried as hard as they could not to make eye contact. After 20 mins I was told I would have to leave my phone there overnight because the technician was clocking out at 6. I'll never get that half hour back or the 1/4 tank of gas it took to get there. read more

Made an appointment to have my battery replaced. The first appointment of the day was 11:40. Gave them all the info about my iPhone. Showed up 30 minutes early after driving 12 miles. Not only they did not have the battery they also labeled me as having missed my appointment they blame Everything on Apple. Well Apple did not make the appointment. read more

Will never go there again!! Purchased ink cartridge for printer on Wed.,they had no stock and had to have it shipped to my home. Well, guess what...this is Sunday and no ink!! They said it would take two days. When checking UPS delivery, they were waiting for an apartment # from the store, and of course there is no such thing in the address.The item was paid for at purchase with a gift card,so they are not worried about the missing item. We will no longer be customers of "Best Buy". There is a lot of competition in the "office supply"business,so we will shop where they SERVICE and APPRECIATE cash payment !! I went to Best Buy to purchase an iPad Pro. I'm looking around and a girl checks on me but doesn't stick very close. When I'm ready to purchase the iPad, I can't get anyone to wait on me without walking off. I start checking out and the "Team Leader" tells me that my old iPad, that I am replacing, is under contract and it's going to cost me to break it. I make my purchases and go to the AT&T store, where the very helpful man proceeds to tell me that they don't put contracts on tablets anymore and activates it for me. It's very clear that the customer service has gone down severely. It makes me sad because it used to be my favorite place to shop for electronics because the workers were so nice and helpful. If there were any other place to buy, I'll be looking for it, I would go there and prefer not to shop at Lake Jackson Best Buy again. read more

Got one so they sent us to another place to wait in the middle of the store called Mobil service, waited for about 16 min. To have them put it on. Then to customer service!! Because they said it would be faster. Seriously!!! Waited in the Customer service (check out). They said "oh you can pay for it, pay 15 for us to put it on!! We bought a tv with a geek squad warranty last year. The tv broke on May 22. We called geek squad and they sent our info to a contractor for repair. We got a service date of May 29. On that day, no one called or showed up. The company told us that they never had an appt scheduled. Since then, we have had several appts scheduled and they don't call or show up. When I call them they say the part is on backorder. I called yesterday and they said that it's not on back order but Best Buy hasn't paid for it yet. We are furious. This has been going on for a month and we are nowhere. We are more than displeased with the service we have received. No one will help us. We have a 75 inch tv under warranty that is basically sitting in a corner broken since May 22. read more

Best Buy is the WORST place to buy anything! Their refund policies are terribly orchestrated. Every time a DEBIT CARD purchase is made, and a prompt (and timely) refund is made back to the store it was purchased from, in the same perfect condition, WHY does it take them 3-5 days to refund the money into your bank when it is purchased "same as cash"? That spells "CROOK" to me since Best Buy has BOTH your money and the merchandise. I really don't understand the reasons for this except to inconvenience and harass the consumer. read more

I went in this store on Friday 12/12/14 at around 6pm to spend about $700 on a christmas present for my girlfriend. After standing at the item I had questions about for about 15 minutes I looked around the store for someone to help me. I was told by the first employee I found that they would send someone to that department to help me. So I returned to the area the item was in that I wanted to purchase and waited another 20 minutes. No one ever came. I left and took my business elsewhere. I will not return to this location. read more

This place has to be the absolute worst place ever! I went in to purchase a GoPro. While shopping I asked the person that was assigned to working that area about some of the specifications of the different GoPro 7s. After discussing the different cameras, which he fumbled through, he recommended I purchase the Hero 7 Silver. He then pointed me in the direction of the accessories; memory card, mounts, batteries, etc. He recommended I purchase extra batteries which I did. When I got home and started playing around with the setup I realized that I was misinformed, that the camera he recommended has a built in battery. I bought extras for nothing so I returned them the following weekend. I then got a better chance to try camera out the following two weekends where I realized that the camera does not stay charged very long and I needed something I could change a battery in or would stay recording longer than 2-3 hours. So when I tried to return it they refused to take it even though I still had my receipt. Stating that I knew because I returned the batteries, why not return the camera then. I said sir I haven´t even had a chance to really test it out, the store should accept some responsibility for me being misinformed so poorly right? He said no. And the banter went back and forth with him and another girl working customer service both being very rude to me. So I am stuck with a GoPro that does not stay charged long enough to capture 2/3 of my fishing trips I record. Also their website and ¨price match guarantees¨ are a joke. Don´t forget to read the fine print where they only honor it if there is a store within 25 miles or the site you found the price on has the product in store. I gave the rep 4 different sites selling a product cheaper and everyone was told that does not fit our guidelines. BEST BUY = WORST BUY EVER!!! read more
