Today I took my computer in for service after making an appointment with Geek Squad. I had purchased 3year coverage for my computer with the intent to hopefully not need. Unfortunately the time came where the service was needed and this is what brought me back to bestbuy Kendall. After speaking with one of the geek squad associates I asked about my warranty that was expiring. I inquired if I can extend it since it ended up being the last day of service.... Or so I thought. I was met with the Geek Squad manager Desmond who greeted my wife and I with the intent to help his customers the best that he could. Desmond took his time in helping us with our issue and we will be forever greatful for his help and insight. Thank you Desmond for putting customers first. The manager, Joel, provided extremely unprofessional service on the date Switch 2 was released. Police officers skipped lines and got two systems each, but everyone else only got one per person. The next day, we went back, and we were only allowed to buy one system, even though there were two people. The manager was upset. About 2 years ago, the Galaxy Flip 5 with Best Buy's Memebership Protection Plan was purchased. It was understood that the plan would provide a hassle free replacement if the phone got damaged. About 2 months before the plan was to expire, the procedures for acquiring a replacement were changed no longer making the process hassle-free. Manager Desmond Leigh and Geek Squad agent, Frank (Kendall Location, Miami, FL), came to the rescue. Desmond honored the procedures of the original plan to get me an upgraded replacement! Then Frank went above and beyond to transfer all of my data from my old phone to the new device. That's no easy feat with a screen that was flickering and/or blacked out!! I went into the Best Buy store to make an appointment for an Audio set-up and was told they only allowed do not assist and that I had to call Geek Squad's directly at 1-800-433-5778. I called while I the actual store on July 4, 2024, and made an appointment and paid on my Amex for the service. I was given an appointment for July 10, 2024 between 7am - 7pm. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! A laundry machine was delivered on May 6th. According to the technician, the laundry machine was working properly. Before the technician left, my husband asked him if the wet floor was normal and he confirmed saying that it was because of the installation. Once the technician left, I went to wash my clothes and when I came back, my entire floor was soaked with water. The water leaked all over and under my floor. We told Best Buy about this issue and they sent over a tech to inspect the washing machine. The tech confirmed that the washing machine was damaged and he scheduled a delivery of a new washing machine. Upon the delivery of the new washing machine, the new techs confirmed that the initial washing machine was not installed correctly and that the drain hose was not hooked up correctly. Causing the water leak. I reported that damage on the same day of the delivery. (May 6th) The damage was reported to Best Buy AND I FILLED A CLAIM. WHAT HAPPENED? NOTHING! Best Buy geek squad protection is a joke. After a 3rd service call the item, which in my case is a Sansung Washing machine, was to be replaced. The 4th visit was another repair not a replacement. Now i had to schedule a 5th appt to hopefully get a replacment code. I am sure this will take another few weeks to actually get a new washing machine! The issue has been going on for 4 months! 5 times staying home waiting for an appt. Multiple times to the laundry mat. Learned my lesson, not worth the extra money paid for this service! read more

I've had such great experiences at this Best Buy. Never had a bad one. Came here recently to get some Xmas gifts out of the way and was successful in scoring them. It was a busy Black Friday weekend and they had opened registers everywhere. Normally (thank you technology) I get emailed receipts now. I feel like they are easier to manage and not lose. Paper is so easy to lose. So this time around I paid in a separate area. I was happy because I literally went to walk out. Forgot I had to show a receipt and they had it loaded up on their mini portable computer. Score. So I was able to just leave easily without having to scramble for my phone and find the receipt. One time I bought best headphones and when I went home to open the box it was empty. Lol. I started crying. When I got to the store I was happy they believed me. Literally empty. I died. Who would believe that? But they did and gave me a new one. So long story short they have always been awesome to me and I love all the electronics they sell here. Of course, the huge variety was a good and a bad thing, haha, but thanks to the help of the nice guy that afternoon, I got what I needed and at a good price. This store has an ample space, filled with merchandise well organized and separated by their different departments. My favorite part of the store is the Home Theater section, where you can find these amazing TV with the wonderful sound system. Ordered a 75" Samsung Frame. Purchased Geek Squad support membership to have it installed CORRECTLY. When the TV was delivered the Geek Squad employee said he could not conceal the cable in the wall because it was not possible. I had him NOT install the TV. I ordered an OnTech installer to do the work and it came out fantastic! And yes, I cancelled my Total Tech membership and got my fee back. Thanks OnTech!!! I bought a brand new washing machine from Best Buy in October 2021. When they delivered the machine it DIDN'T WORK. The installers turned on the machine and showed that the water ran into the tub and then left. After they left I threw in a load of clothes and tried to run a cycle. For starters they switched the cold and hot water connections, so my colored clothes that needed a cold water wash were soaked in steaming hot water and ran colors. AND the lid lock would not engage, so it would not start a cycle at all. It wouldn't spin the water out of my clothes. It wouldn't do anything but let my colored clothes sit in way too hot water and run. I called Best Buy support within 15 minutes of when the installers left my house. The installers did not leave their phone number and I was told by Best Buy they could not be contacted directly (what??). After trying to get support for this, I was told that I would have to use the warranty I purchased to have someone come and repair it. They would send someone out the next week to do diagnostics, and then when the problem was found, they would set up another appointment for the machine to actually be fixed. Again this was a brand new, not open box appliance, and Best Buy refused to do anything. I even went into the store in Kendall and was told they cant help me even schedule an appointment, I have to call the main phone number and be put on hold. I had to go through my Geek Squad warranty. I told them I wanted to have the machine picked up for a return and exchanged for another new machine of a different model. Another hour of being put on hold and transferred to get that scheduled. It took them 2 weeks to come pick up the machine for a return because they cancelled on me first, then set up a time and tried to show up outside of the return window when no one was home. By the time they rescheduled the appointment to pick it up I told them I just wanted to return it and not exchange it. They said it would be a full refund since it was within the return window. Finally they picked up the machine, and this whole time I have no working washing machine. A week goes by after the machine is picked up and no refund. Now Best Buy says they have no record of the machine being picked up. The guys who come to install and pick up are contractors and they don't actually work for Best Buy. It shows there was an appointment to pick up the machine but they never marked the machine as picked up. I have a receipt that they left when they picked up the machine showing it was returned. Best Buy customer service said they do not have an email address I can send it to and don't want a copy. It is now JANUARY 2022 and have not received a refund for $661. It is absolute insanity. I have spent countless hours on the phone with Best Buy customer service and I kid you not, every person I have talked to has told me something completely different as far as the status of this case. I have been told everything including the refund has been issued and it is likely your bank holding up the refund (back in Oct), the refund may take up to 6 months, there is still no record of it being picked up, and there is no record of even an appointment for a return. I have had to involve my bank in a dispute and Best Buy is still saying they have no record of this return DESPITE ME HAVING A RECEIPT issued by their contractors from the pick up. If you want cheap appliances, sure you can save $20 compared to Home Depot or another better store, but you better hope it works and never has a problem, because customer service will completely screw you if it doesn't. read more

Service reps only could get me a repair man to come out in 3 days. Alex, a supervisor, told me to call the store to see if they had someone available to come out. Store personnel mystified at that request as no one on site qualified. I was given a contact number for their insurance for damages but was directed to voicemail. I left a message. 3 days have passed & I am waiting for a service person who was supposed to be here 30 minutes ago. I'm not authorized to get my plumber and be reimbursed. Upon inspection, I was told that they could not repair the screen because my phone was "slightly dented." Instead, I needed to have the phone completely replaced. Because I do not have "Apple Care," to repair the screen it would have costed me $300. To replace the phone completely, it would cost me $600. I refused service with the the Geek Squad and instead made an Appt with the Genius Bar at the Apple store in The Falls. They repaired my cracked screen for $300 without a single issue. read more

It's my "assumption" there are no qualified applicants to work in the cell phone/security camera section in the West Kendall location thus they hired two of the most inept individuals I have ever encountered. Maybe they were hired so the store would appear to have staff. I entered looking for security cameras and was told an associate from the phone department would assist I stand by the register and a person ringing up a customer tells me one of two individuals, who I thought were customers could assist. I observed 2 individuals chatting and scrolling on their phones. I asked for assistance in looking for a security camera. They looked at me like I was speaking another language. I again asked for help adding if they can't help me maybe a manger can. The "spokesperson" answers, "do you want a manager to help or "our" help?" My response is "well if your willing to stop scrolling you might be able to help." They now listen to me, tell what I want is not in the store. I ask for an alternative , asking questions about the product , about the installation , about my membership and new policies. All the spokesperson could tell me (repeatedly) is that they only sell the product and nothing else. I was going to drive to another Best Buy when I decided to go to staff members who worked in another area , they had helped me with a purchase before. I have been to this location for several different needs on various occasions and have always had a great experience. About 2 years ago, I was on the hunt for the newest iPhone, the 6S in Rose Gold. My carrier was out of stock at 2 different locations and I wanted my new phone immediately! I called Best Buy and they confirmed that they had one left in Rose Gold, and I rushed over. I was helped right away, and the service was thorough and complete. Just as good as going directly to the AT&T store, if not better. They were able to answer all my questions accurately, and I didn't have to wait forever like I typically do in the AT&T store. My second experience here was for a gas range. After several years of faithful service, my old range decided it was time to retire. The home appliance department was well staffed and we received assistance immediately, helping us to find the best range for the best price. I won't get into numbers, but we really got one heck of a deal!! Lastly, just last night, I visited the home appliance department again; this time for a new dishwasher. I had one in mind but the sales rep pointed out a better model for almost $300 more. After discussing things some, he worked his magic with the numbers, and I basically left with the better dishwasher paying only $80 more than the original one I intended on. Overall, I feel like you can find a great deal here if you are open-minded, and the sales guys are great at trying to help make the sale work for you- not the other way around. I never get that shark feel, and they have always tried to work with my budget to steer me in the best direction. Again we wait in line only to be told that my sons line is not available for an upgrade and to go back to the service department. Staff lack integrity and honesty. Your interest being the last thing in mind. I bought a "Brand New" TV - Or at least I thought it was brand new. The TV I brought home was clearly a customer return item with missing accessories and none of the manufactures protective packaging. I was upset, but was willing to work a resolution out because I understand mistakes can happen. I was helped by the manager on duty Alex and we tried working a resolution. However, they didn't have another TV unit like the one I intended to originally buy. He recommended a similar TV, and I had to pay the additional price difference. I wasn't happy due to the fact that in my situation I was sold a customer return, and it cost me more bringing back the original unit, when I had to factor the arrangements made to transport the and deliver the product back to the store. He still lacked empathy and I had to purchase the TV at the price difference - BTW the price difference was $50. His only recommendation was to come back if the TV drops down in price and he would honor the price difference. I found that solution to be acceptable being that black Friday sales were a couple weeks out and figured I can recoup the price difference that way. I stopped by on Black Friday and their policy for that specific day was that they will not price match. So I spoke to Alex and all of the sudden he conveniently forgot to tell me that I can come back any day except Black Friday. I asked if there was an exception that could be made to the circumstance... Then no... So I spoke to the assistant manager on duty and explained the situation. He agreed it didn't make sense, but he still wouldn't honor the request. His best solution was to buy another TV and return the old one... I didn't take his solution being that it was unacceptable. This whole situation is crappy from a customer service point of view. I wouldn't trust any members from their staff. They clearly don't honor or appreciate their customers. Im better off shopping elsewhere or online. I will not be shopping there again and if anyone cares for my opinion, I would recommend staying away from this store, their sales practice are deceptive and all they care about is extorting you for as much money they can squeeze from you. read more

The purchase came with some kind of free anti virus software I've never heard of and never intended to use. There was no option to remove it from my purchase when I did the transaction online. I returned the computer for unrelated reasons and when I did they subtracted $30 from the refund price because the software is not refundable and basically charged me for the 'free' software I didn't want to begin with. It's also the coolest; in an age where samplers can provide music only a full band could previously, it's refreshing to see so many people checking out the spread of guitars, keyboards, and drums available here. And, there's always a few girls swooning as they hear their man strum a guitar for them (the real power of music). They also offer music lessons in their soundproofed practice rooms. What a disappointment! I shopped several locations looking for a washing machine. The decision to purchase the washer at best buy was contingent upon their commitment to deliver on the specified date and time. The appoint time (12-6) was set to expire and the dispatch informed me that the delivery would be late. She later called again and said "the driver was in an accident and would not be able to deliver and we would have to call next day to reschedule" I call BS! I called the next day as directed expected they would deliver first thing the next day which was not the case. The CS operator said the next delivery date would be next Tuesday...WHAT!!!!!!!!!! Unacceptable!!!!!!!!!! I demanded to speak to a person in a decision making capacity and was on hold for over 50 min and ultimately hung up when no one came on. This was a disaster top to bottom. Bathrooms are gross here! Unless you can't hold it then don't even go into their bathrooms. The store is a bit messy. The workers are nice but only on the appliance side though!
